SUAREZ, Beatriz M., born July 29, 1928, passed away August 18, 1996. You've gone first, and we remain; one thing I'll have you do. Walk slowly down that long, long path, for soon I'll follow you. I want you to know each step you take, so I make take the same. For someday down that lonely road, you'll hear me call your name.
Survived by loving husband, Edgar; devoted children, Eloina (James) Taylor, Steve(Gloria) Suarez, Bettina Warburton, Selina Suarez; and six grandchildren; sister, Connie Carpenter. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 300 S.Tucson Blvd, on Saturday, August 24, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Tucson Association for the Blind. Special thanks to the Hospice Unit of Tucson Medical Center for their loving care and compassion.

THOMPSON, Donald E., 62, died August 18, 1996. Husband of Judith Thompson of Tucson; father of Carla Sanborn of CA, Dewayne Thompson of FL and Deborah Youngblood of CA; brother of Arthur C. Thompson, Jr. of CA and Alice Sanborn of CO; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends also survive. He was a lifelong member of VFW Post 549, Tucson. Mr. Thompson was employed by the Dana Kepner Co. as manager of the Tucson Branch. Memorial Service 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 23 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 241 N. Harrison, with Pastor Curt L. Grube officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Tucson Medical Center Cancer Foundation, 5301 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ 85712. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

HALLETT, Sis, 65, sister of Anne (Mrs. Robert) Vance of Tucson, died August 16, 1996 in Tucson. Born January 3, 1931, in Peoria, IL, to Gladys and Paul Strehlow. She is also survived by daughter, Karla Crydermann Morton (Craig) of Harleysville, PA; three grandchildren, Ian, Jessie and Margaret; sister, Marie Foster (Bill) of Table Grove, IL; brother, Paul Strehlow, Jr. (Jane) of Evanston, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Don Hallett of Scottsdale, AZ. She attended the University of Arizona where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She was also a member of the Junior League of Tucson and the Scottsdale Board of Realtors. Services 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21st at St. Philip's in the Hills. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.

HENRY, Hugh Carl, 80, passed away August 16, 1996. He is survived by his daughters, Paula (John) Melick, Loretta (Herb) Buhs; son, Robert (Pat) Butler; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Martin (Rosalee) Rosenswipe; and sisters, Violet Wheeler and Dorothy (Tony) Pilar. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara J. Henry in 1990. Private Services were held. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. LAUX, Irene, 77, a resident of Tucson, died August 17, 1996. Survived by husband, Edgar; daughter, Sharon; granddaughter, Carolyn Aulds; grandson, John Aulds; sister, Helen Rozek, all of Tucson. Mass 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20 at St. Cyrils Catholic Church, 4725 E. Pima. Interment East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd.

NAUMANN, Isabelle, passed away August 16, 1996. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 1996 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. OLIVA, Alfred P., went to the lord on August 17, 1996. Alfred was a veteran and a retired teamster. He served his country during WWII in Europe. Upon his return to Tucson Alfred worked for Western Gillete. He is survived by his wife, Connie of 55 years; sons, Alfred R. (Mireya), Fernando and daughter, Terry (Edmund) Tellez, all of Tucson; seven grandchildren, Hamilton, Aaron, Fernie, Connie Marie, Jeneen, Aniza and Axton; and dearest cousins, Raymond Chaparro of Norwalk, CA and Gilbert Fierro of El Paso, TX. Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 300 S. Tucson Blvd., Tucson on Tuesday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will also take place at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. until Funeral Mass. Interment Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott, Tucson.

OLSON, Percy L., 87, died August 15, 1996. Preceded in death by his wife Mayme J. Olson who died in 1992; survived by his daughter, Patricia Zimmer of Tucson; two sons, Paul Olson of Wise River, MT and Peter John Olson of Tucson; also five grandchildren. Mr. Olson was a retired employee of Pima County. Friends may call 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 19, 1996 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., where Funeral Services will be held 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 1996. Interment will follow at East Lawns Palms Cemetery.

RICHTER, Lyle, 55, passed away August 14, 1996 in Tucson, AZ. He is survived by his children, Julaine of TX, Kevin of SD, Benita of AK and Jeff of FL; four grandchildren; brothers, Charles of WY, Neil of AZ and Dean of CA. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 20 at 4:00 p.m. at Dove of Peace Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Hospice Family Care, 3443 E. Ft. Lowell, Tucson, 85716.

AMOS, William Harry, 70, of Tucson, went to be with his heavenly Father on August 15, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Euvilla (Eve) Amos; two sons, Rick (Marla) and Michael (Jeannie), both of Tucson, and three daughters, Sue (George) Kimbler of Phoenix, Kathy Glantz of Tucson and Donna (Fred) Miller of Phoenix. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers and two sisters; Willard Amos of Pocahontas, AR, David Amos of St. Louis, MO, Marie Hoffman of Westland, MI and Marjorie McIntire of Bono, AR.
Mr. Amos was born March 27, 1926 in Ash Flat, AR. He served in the Army during World War II before attending Southern(Williams) Baptist College. He taught school in southern Missouri for several years prior to moving to Arizona in 1956 where he was an assayer for ASARCO copper mines.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Services will be held Monday, August 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY Jay George of West Ajo Baptist Church will be conducting.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to support christian college students by sending them to Williams Baptist College, Office of Institutional Advancement, P.O. Box 3664, Walnut Ridge, AR 72476.
May his soul rest in peace in the arms of his Heavenly Father where he will never feel pain and suffering again.

BEA, Eldon Wesley, beloved husband and father, age 81, eldest son of John and Nellie Bea, born in Columbia, Missouri on October 9, 1914, died on August 15, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Viola Nellie Bea. They were married on March 25, 1939 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Tucson, Arizona. He is also survived by his sons, Larry Wesley, Johnnie Dale (Betty), Eldon Lee, Charles Duane (Pam), Rick Wilson (Barbara); daughter, Frances Ruth (Robert), 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sisters, Julia Bach, Louise Crosswhite, Ruth (Bobby) Hathman, along with several nieces and nephews. He served his country in the US Navy as Second Class Seaman in WWII, was a member of the VFW and a life time member of the DAV. He worked as a pipe fitter for Union Local 741 for over 25 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He has left us with loving memories, he will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 1996 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd., where Funeral Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 19, 1996. Further services and burial will be in Hermann, MO.

BYARS, Jonnie Katherine Stavinoha, passed away August 15, 1996 after a long courageous bought with cancer. She was born April 26, 1917 to John and Katherine Stavinoha in Temple, Texas. She met her husband Charles Foster Byars, an Army Air Corps aviator in Temple and they married in 1941. After the war they traveled the world as her husband remained in the Air Force. Jonnie had three sons. They settled in Tucson in 1959. Jonnie was a loving wife and mother. She was especially proud of her volunteer work. Over thirty years at DM Thrift Shop and at St. Joseph Hospital. She is survived by John and Tak Byars of San Diego, Robert and Beverly and granddaughter Lacie Byars and step-grandchildren Jason and Stephanie Daniel, of Round Rock, Texas and Ron Byars, Julie and David of Tucson. She is also survived by her younger sister Minkie Wolf of Dayton, Ohio. She will be dearly missed by family and many good friends. As per Jonnie's request there will not be a funeral. Memorial services will be announced. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.

CASTRO, Guillermo M., 48 of Tucson. Memo joined the Lord on Friday August 2, 1996. Born November 26, 1947. Preceded in death by parents William R. and Josephine E. Castro. Survived by brothers Arthur M. and Alex M. Castro both of Tucson. And many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held August 17th at 10:00 a.m. at Mission Park Baptist Church.

LIBBEY, Alfred Rainey, died August 15, 1996. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Gertrude; daughters and sons-in-law, Lorna and Charles Cagle of Burns, OR, Ellen and Richard Hargis of Tucson; grandsons, Jason and Bryan Cagle; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Bill Bates; nephews and nieces; and was preceded in death by his son, John. Mr. Libbey was born in Johnson Camp, AZ on March 27, 1913. His family moved to Tucson where he graduated from Tucson High School and the University of Arizona. Mr. Libbey worked for mining companies in Ajo and Ray, AZ and Bolivia before joining Anaconda Copper Mining Company in Potrerillos, Chile. He retired back toTucson in 1971. He will be very much missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Volunteer Center of Tucson, 6840 E. Broadway, #201, Tucson 85710. Services will be held Monday, August 19, 10:00 a.m. at EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.

LOCKARD, Ann F., 84, of Tucson, died August 13, 1996. Survivors include: her two sons, Dean Hendeson of Tucson, Michael G. Lockard of Vista, CA; one sister, Mildred William of Oak Grove, MO, Maryjane Beal of Vista, CA; also several loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd J. Lockard. During the 1930's and 40's Ann was an activist and proud member of the CIO and the 15th St. Democratic Club of Kansas City, Missouri where she also graduated from St. Agnes Academy. Locally she was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

MILLER, Maxine Fern, 75, a 37 year resident of Tucson, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 1996. Born April 5, 1921 in Catawba, Wisconsin. She was a waitress at the Sky Chef restaurant at the Tucson International Airport. Survived by her daughter, Sharon (Ted) Porter of Canal Winchester, Ohio; son, Dennis Miller of Tucson; daughter, Kimberly (John) Arlienne of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Danny, Brian, Debbie, Randy, Ronnie, Jennifer, John Jr. and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Michael, Jared, Dustin, Ryan, Hannah, Logan and Jessica; brothers, Donald, Clarence, Dale, Marto, and Wyn Emrich; sister, Ethel Kingma. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 19, 1996 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, Rev. Jim Howard of Tucson Baptist Temple officiating.

SCHARLOW, Virginia Ruth, 80, of Tucson, died August 16, 1996. Fond wife of the late Raymond and daughter of the late Fred and Margaret Williams. Sister of the late Elizabeth Williams. Survived by sister, Mary Yrigoyen; and brother, Fred E. Williams, Jr., both of Tucson. A Memorial Mass will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers mass cards would be appropriate. GOMEZ, Professor Abraham R., 86, of Tucson, died August 14, 1996. He was born and raised in San Miguel, Sonora, Mexico. He was the principal of a school in Agua Prieta, Sonora, and a teacher in many little towns in Sonora. In a puebilito he was known to help those less fortunate. A kind man who was recognized for his gift of self to his community, a political man with abilities to speak so eloquently to the masses. He was a member of several civic and patriotic associations in Tucson. He was a member of Club National. He worked for Southern Pacific. Most recently he was a member of Senior Citizens at Armory Park and had been for many years. Survived by wife, Magdalena F. Gomez; daughters, Toni Gomez, Graciela G. (Ed. C.) Manjarre; son, Abraham F. (Rosa Isele) Gomez, Jr.; grandchildren, Eddie (Jill) Roberto, Elia Manjarre, Lizet, Belinda and Baby Abe Gomez; great grandchildren, Blaine, Briana, Cameron, Halez, Nicholas. Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17, at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Casa De Los Ninos.
