MARKO, Juliet, 92, of Tucson, died Sunday, January 12, 1997. She is survived by her sons, Adrian (Leigh) Marko of Akron, OH, Gerald Marko of Benson, AZ; brother, George Vince of Akron; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 1997 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Friends may call at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, one hour prior to service. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box, 13423, Tucson, 85732.

MENELEY, Lisa Lynne, born September 21, 1961, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 10, 1997. She is survived by her mother, Gladys Meneley; father, Victor Meneley; brothers, Grant Meneley and Jan Meneley and their wives, Eileen and Toni and grandmother, Marjorie Pankow. Lisa was a graduate of F.W.H.S. and the U. of A. She was a music technician at F.W.H.S. and a free lance musician with the U of A, SALOC and ATC. She had worked extensively in studio recording. She was a composer.Visitation will be on Monday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY.Funeral Service, Tuesday, 4:00 p.m. Casas Adobes Baptist Church Sanctuary. There will be a private interment in Illinois. Memorials may be made in her mane to the Arizona Children’s Home Foundation or the Gospel Rescue Mission.

WINGO, Ryan Keith, age 12, of Bristow, Virginia, formerly of Cary, North Carolina, died Friday, January 10, 1997 at Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, D.C. Ryan attend the Evangelic Free Church, Manassas, Virginia and was a Cub Scout in Cary, North Carolina. Survivors include his parents, Richard K. and Annette Marie Wingo of Bristow, Virginia; two sisters, Michelle Marie Wingo and Rachel MarieWingo, both of the home; paternal grandparents, Rodney Keith and Fern Esther Wingo of Warrenton Virginia and maternal grandparents, Joseph Michael and Marguerite Ann Santomeno of Tucson, Arizona. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 1997 at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia where funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m Monday, January 13, 1997 with Pastor James P. Ramsak officiating. Interment at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, Virginia. Expressions to sympathy may take the form of contributions to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina, P.O. Box 32298, Raleigh, North Carolina, 27622 in memory of Ryan Wingo.

BLASS, Russell Lowell, age 71, Tucson, Arizona, died on January 9, 1997 at Tucson Medical Center from complications of pneumonia. Born August 17, 1925, in his family home in Galeton, PA. Russell was married to June Lorraine Gregg in 1953 at the First Presbyterian Church of Galeton. Russell was an active member of the St. James Untied Methodist Church and enjoyed his indoor plants, outside garden, collecting Nativity sets, and caring for his wife, children and grandchildren. Russell is survived by his wife, June; three daughters and son-in-laws, Cheryl and Mike Mainus (Tucson), Lori and Terry Tadano (Socorro, NM), Tammi and Peter Michl (Lexington, KY); eight grandchildren, Cortney, Craig and Keith Mainus, Tiffany, Tory and Traci Tadano and Timothy and Nicholas Michl; brother, John Blass (Gaines, PA) and sister and brother-in-law, Janice and James Petersen (Renovo, PA); his sister and brother-in-laws, Ruth Harris (Gaines and Tucson), Lynn and Lois Whipple (Whipple Hill, PA), George and Gladys Dietrich (Gaines, PA), Clarence Detar (Gaines, PA) and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be conducted on Sunday, January 12, 5:30 p.m. at the St. James United Methodist Church, Tucson, Arizona. A reception will follow the service for all friends and family. DAHNKE, William Sr., passed away January 7, 1997 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of, Margaret (Sterzinger); devoted father of Clara (Richard), Joan (Neil), William Jr. (Julie), Mary (Greg) and Jim (Joan); 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; dear brother of Sister Evangela; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law and many other relatives and friends. Lifetime member of VFW #4903 and DAV #18. Bill Sr. was employed with Pabst Brewing Company in Milwaukee, WI. for 38 years; moved to Arizona in 1978. Memorial Services will be held at Immaculate Heart Novitiate, 4100 Sabino Canyon Rd., Sunday, January 12, 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association.

DOBSON, Maria B., 92, of Tucson, passed away January 9, 1997. Preceded in death by husband, Edward F. Dobson. Survived by daughters, Belen (Gilbert), Delia (Arthur), Maria Luisa, Lydia (Richard), Geraldine (Richard), Martha (Fred); sons, Edward (Lupe), Frank (Rosie), George (Maria); 46 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 1997 from 4:00 to 10:00 at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Tuesday, January 14, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. DUGAN, Maybelle, age 88, passed away January 9, 1997. She is preceded in death by her husband, Col. Joseph Dugan, and is survived by her sisters, Barbara K. Krogue, L. Juhlin 'Julie' Mandl, and Blanche G. Juhlin. Friends may call Monday, January 13, at the Mortuary from 8:00 a.m. – noon. Graveside Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. ESHELBY, George R., 72, passed away January 8, 1997. Survived by his wife, Joann; children, Patrick Kelly, Laura Collett (David) and Diane Avenetti (Jonathon); eight grandchildren also survive. Memorial Service Thursday, January 16 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 4th & Park, with Rev. David Devereaux officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to the First United Methodist Church.

HARDS, Maryann 'Mollie', 84, died December 29, 1996. Preceded in death by beloved brother, James Hards. Survived by sister in law, Doris Hards; niece, Pamela Stoermer (John); grandnephews, Jason Stoermer, Tucson, Sean Stoermer, San Diego and numerous friends in Tucson, Baltimore, MD and Brighton, England. Mollie was a friend to everyone she met and will be greatly missed. Memorial Service Sunday, January 12, 1997 11:15 a.m., St. Philips Episcopal Church, River/Campbell. HOUSMAN, William (Bill) V., an Air Force Veteran, died January 9, 1997. Survived by loving wife, Joye L. Housman; daughters, Nita (Ken) Sheely, Cindy (Matt) Condon; five grandchildren, Sarah, Tyler, Katie, Jordan Condon and Kendall Sheely; two step grandchildren, Kenneth and Heather Sheely; three brothers, Gene, Wayne and Ronnie; five sisters, Mabel Russell, Barbara Hall, Janice Swindle, Jody Chrisco and Doris Ann Batey. There will be a Service, Sunday, January 12, 1997, 2:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave., with Gordon Gower officiating. Graveside will be held at South Lawn Cemetery following service. Remembrances may be made to Palo Verde Church of Christ.

Kyes of Idaho Falls, ID, Paulette J. Doering of Tucson; 15 grandchildren; sister of John S. Lewis of Indiana, PA. MEAD, Mary Louise, 80, of Tucson, died Thursday, January 9, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and her daughter, Margo Shephard. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Kay (Philip) Dinsmore, Marcia (Moses) Murakami; three grandsons and one granddaughter. Close friends and family will gather at the home of Mary Kay and Philip Dinsmore on Monday, January 13, 1997 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Library, 2230 E. MILLER, Elizabeth M., 97, passed away suddenly on January 8, 1997. She is survived by her son, Roger G. Miller and his wife Patricia; her sister, Edith McCollister; her grandchildren, Beth Zurn, Lori Schmidtke and Jana Sweets; and great-grandchildren, Traci and Dustin Phelps, Alexandra and Amelia Zurn and Dillon Rice. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrews’s Presbyterian Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Tucson.

BALL, Dr. Edith L., 91, formerly of New York, died December 31, 1996 in Tucson, AZ. A Professor Emeritus of New York University, she was a well-known pioneer in therapeutic recreation. She was a past president of the American Recreation Society and was instrumental in the creation of the National Recreation and Park Association, which honored her as a lifetime trustee. Surviving are a sister, Katharine Engels; nieces and nephews. Services will be at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Tucson, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11. Burial will be in Flushing Cemetery, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the E. L. Ball Scholarship Fund, New York Univ., School of Education, Recreation and Leisure Studies Program, 35 W. 4th St., Suite 1200, New York, NY 10012.

CORBELL, Larry Scott 'Scotty', 58, died Monday, January 6, 1997 as a result of complications from surgery. Born September 12, 1938 in Butlerville, IN, Scotty moved to Tucson in 1969, after serving eight years in the USAF. He was a Vietnam Veteran. In 1970, Scotty began his 25-year career as a Criminal Investigator with the Pima County Public Defender’s Office. One of the founders of the office, Scotty worked on such noted cases as the Pioneer Hotel Fire. Scotty served as the President of the National Defense Investigator’s of America, and was recognized locally and nationally for his investigative expertise. Scotty was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Nolan R. 'Slim' Corbell. He is survived by his mother, Roberta G. 'Bobbye' and David Brouse of Tucson; brother, Rick Corbell and wife, Nancy; ex-wife and friend, Trish O’Lowney; biological father, R.J. Wainscott and six half-brothers and sisters, Max, Mike, Donna, Sandy, Susie, and Jackie. He has five nieces and nephews, Tracy, Lisa, Richard-Lee, Jennifer, and Jason and seven grandnieces and nephews; uncle and aunt, Dean and Ada Matlock of Tucson; aunt Frances Matlock of Billings, MT and numerous cousins. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 11, at 2:00 p.m. at The Flowing Wells Assembly of God Church, 3198 N. Flowing Wells Rd. There will be a private interment at a later date.Arrangements by Desert Rose Mortuary.

DONAT, Marie A., 86, died January 8, 1997, was a 50 year long resident of Tucson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Donat. She is survived by daughters, Geraldine (Benedict) Oakley of L.A., CA. and Jacquie Cox of Tucson; grandchildren, Karen (Jim) Hillson, Steve (Diana) Oakley, Lauren (Stan) Kozela; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Eric, and Kevin Oakley, and Alexander Kozela. Gifted with a beautiful soprano voice, Marie sang with a Chicago Chorale. Artistic and creative, she enjoyed painting ceramics and cultivating her garden. She was an avid reader and excellent cook/baker in the finest Czech tradition. Marie was well known as an animal advocate. She was a former parishioner of All Saints and SS. Peter and Paul Catholic churches and a 35 year member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. The family would like to give special thanks to the loving care-givers at Villa Maria. Friend may call Friday, January 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd., (one block north of Grant). Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 11, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. with entombment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
