DIMSDALE, Beatrice, born, January 6, 1910, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, died December 27, 1996. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence. She is survived by sons, William Dimsdale of Pennsylvania, Robert Dimsdale of Maryland; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a niece, Bette Phillips of New Hampshire; a grandnephew; a grandniece; four great-grandnephews and one great-grandniece, all of New Hampshire. Beatrice graduated from Chatham College for Women in Pittsburgh and earned an MA at the University of Pittsburgh, and was a retired social worker. During her lifetime Bea was active in the League of Women Voters of Tucson, was a Charter Member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, Southern Arizona Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, Common Cause, Arizona Civil Liberties Union, United Nations Association, Sierra Club, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and Temple Emanu-El of Tucson. Graveside Services at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 1997 at Temple Emanu-El Memorial Park, Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials: League of Women Voters of Tucson, Arizona Civil Liberties Union, United Nations Association, Tucson Memorial Society or Temple Emanu-El.

EDGINGTON, John F., 80, of Tucson, died December 31 1996. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY.

FINDLEY, Elsie Jane, 77, of Tucson, died December 29, 1996. Survived by daughter, Lucille Farnsworth; son, Howard Findley; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mable and Mary. Preceded in death by husband, Charles; three brothers, Walter, Roy, Jesse Chapman. Visitation, Friday, January 3, 1997, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Service, 3:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Graveside to follow. Interment, South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations to Carondelet Hospice.

GRADY, Irma 'Rusty' 64, of Tucson, died December 31, 1996. Loving mother, wife and friend. Survivors include: husband, Edwin G. 'Whip' Grady; Michael L. Lynch, Gerald C. Lynch, Billie and Terri Perry; grandchildren, Christine Lynch, Shane Lynch, Tamara Lynch, Alyssia Perry and Savannah Perry. KLING, Mary G., 90, of Tucson, passed away December 29, 1996. Survived by daughters, Ruth (Ray) Ribble of FL, Virginia (Jim) Volger of Tucson; sister, Elizabeth 'Bess' (Einar) Erickson; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 3, 1997, 2:00 p.m. at the Fountains Retirement Community, 2001 West Rudasill Rd. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee.

KRUSE, Wilbur, 74, died December 23, 1996. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary C. Kruse in 1993. Left behind many friends, among them are Keith (Rita) Colvert, Rose Colvert and Lorraine Tassi and sister, Barb (George) Stallings. Wilbur was a 45 year resident of Tucson, employed at Hughes Aircraft for many years. Had been a volunteer for many civic associations. Friends may call 2:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. January 3, 1997 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd.

MAERK, Beverly J., 70. A 34 year resident of Tucson, passed away December 30, 1996. Born March 19, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Survived by her daughter, Penny Rosso; son James Maerk; daughters, Kathy Bigham and Robyn Waier; son, Robert Maerk; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, David Harvey. A visitation will be held from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 1997 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Graveside Service will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Les Plattner officiating.

PICKENS, Grady Wright, 72, passed away peacefully at home December 29, 1996 surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 28, 1924 in La Rue, Texas. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Chloe 'Todi' Pickens; sons, James (Debbie) Stacy of Albuquerque, NM, Grady Wright II (Linda) Pickens of Tucson, AZ; daughters, Judy Koenig of San Antonio, TX, Kerry Carlson and Sharon Pickens, both of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Rebekah Carlson, Ethan Carlson, Chloe Carlson and David Hinds; brothers, A.T. (Lorene) Pickens of Nederland, TX, James (Bert) Pickens of West TX; sisters, Dorothy Jean Moore of Bellmead, TX and Nina Jo (Howard) Pedigo of Axtell, TX; uncle, Charles (Elizabeth) Pickens of Waco, TX. At the age of 18 he joined the USMC where he spent 3 years before joining the Air Force in 1947 from which he retired 22 years later. In 1969, Grady and Todi moved to Tucson. He graduated in 1977 with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from the U of A. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 530 in Hubbard, TX. He was a devoted husband and father, an avid golfer, who also spent hours tinkering with automobiles. At his request there will be no Memorial Service. Donations may be made to Carondelet Hospice Services.

TAGGART, Linda Joan, 58, of Tucson. Passed away December 30, 1996 following a passioned six-year battle with Carcinoid Cancer. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a spirited and caring person. None know this more than her recently acquired friends from the FIT Center at TMC and the Cancer Support Groups at UMC and St. Paul’s Methodist Church. Linda was born April 21, 1938 in the Philippine Islands, the daughter of Lt. Col. John Morgan and his wife Margaret. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Owen H. 'Tag' Taggart. Her mother Margaret Morgan. Daughter, Christie Ann Taggart and sons, James Jeffery Taggart and David Own Taggart. Three grandsons, Marc Edward, Steven David and Michael Owen. All of Tucson. Her surviving family also includes a brother, John Benjamin Morgan of Washington D.C., In-laws, Owen H. and Florence Taggart of Green Valley and James Burton Taggart. Memorial services will be held at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, 8051 E. Broadway at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 1997. Remembrances can be made with continuing, considerate, spirited expressions each day of your life.

THOMPSON, Robert Lee, 70, of Greensboro, North Carolina and Rincon Country West R.V. Park, Tucson, died December 29, 1996 at the University Medical Center. Born March 29, 1926 at Hopkinsville, Kentucky. married May 29, 1948 to Janet Adams, his surviving widow. Other surviving relatives are his daughter, Nancy Lee Thompson and granddaughter, Emily Thompson-Bruder of Tucson; a son, David Lee Thompson and his wife, Karen of Tampa, Florida, plus a brother, Clarence Eugene (Tom) Thompson of Mesa, Arizona and a brother, Donald E. Thompson of Syracuse, New York. Robert worked 25 years for the Carrier Corp. in Syracuse, New York as an order correspondent, then in Greensboro, North Carolina as a parts manager for 19 years, retiring in 1990. He was an avid golfer and bowler, loved boating, fishing, wood working and furniture refinishing. Bob and Janet loved RCW at Tucson as 'Snowbirds' with the many friends and neighbors they found at RCW. Bob enjoyed the Senior Olympics during 1996, winning some medals (silver and bronze). Bob served his country during World War II as a Radio Operator in the U.S. Army Airforce in the China – Burma – India Theatre. Bob was a member and pastmaster of Salina Lodge #955 of Syracuse, New York. He was a member of the Scottish Rite of Greensboro, N.C. and a recent member of Sabbar Shrine of Tucson. A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. on January 3, 1997 at The Holy Way Presbyterian Church, 4221 West Ajo Way in Tucson, with Reverend Raymond Thomas officiating, plus members from Nelson Bledsoe Lodge of Masons will present Masonic services and a flag presentation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Robert Thompson Memorial Fund which will be donated to charities chosen by family.

CARDENAS, Maria V., 88, of St. David, Arizona, passed away December 30, 1996, in St. David, AZ. Born June 30, 1908, in Mammoth, AZ. She is survived by husband Lorenzo Cardenas of St. David; two sons, Bennie (Elsa) Cardenas of Benson and Victor (Carmen) Cardenas of Tucson; one daughter, Margarita (Johnny) George of St. David; two sisters, Celi Lim and Maxima Carrasco of Tucson; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 1997 at Richardson’s Mortuary Chapel, Benson, AZ from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m.Services will be held Friday, January 3, 1997, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Benson, AZ with Father Ray Ratzenberger of Our Lady of Lourdes. Internment at Cochise Gardens of Rest, Benson, AZ.

COLE, Itasca, age 79, of Tucson, passed December 28, 1996. Survived by wife, Ozelle Cole of Tucson; and brother, Elvy Cole of Texas; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday January 3 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Amos Lewis officiating at Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 1019 East 31st. Viewing will be held, from 10:00 a.m. til service time, at Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the 'Itasca Cole Memorial Fund', in care of the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, 34 West 34th St., Tucson, AZ 85713. Interment at South Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave.

CORE, Michael Dee. Died December 30, 1996. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughters, Jessica and Elaine (Kevin) Cummings; son, Matthew; two grandchildren, Jake and Kassandra; mother and step-father, Carol and Ken Mead; brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Barb Core; sister and brother-in-law Pat Lewis and Duane Vild; step-brother, Mike Allen; niece, Jessica Core; nephew, Spencer Brummer; life-time friend, Deby Mounce; and many dear friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Core. Mike was a loving, dedicated father, husband and son and an extremely loyal friend. He was a craftsman and artist and always generous with his talents and time. Mike was an adventuresome spirit who loved the outdoors. He was a friend of Bill W. and past board member of the ALANO Club. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 1997 at the Adair Funeral Home, 1050 N. Dodge.

DARCY, Patricia J., 77, a Green Valley resident, died December 29, 1996 in Zeeland, Michigan. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Green Valley, AZ. She was also a member of the Notre Dame Club of Tucson. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Darcy in April of 1996. She is survived by her children, Kathy Darcy of Kansas City, KS, Anne and William Cleary of Marietta, GA, Mary Beth and Michael Jonkman of Rockford, MI, Neal and Lori Darcy of Holland, MI, Brian and Maureen Darcy of Carmel, IN; 11 grandchildren; sister, Irene and Jim Barrett of St. Paul, MN. A Memorial Mass will be held in Green Valley at a later date. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Notre Dame Club of Tucson Scholarship Fund, c/o Ray Tritz, 3520 Calle Vistosa, Tucson, AZ 85715. ENEBOE, Lois M., 75, of Tucson, died December 26, 1996. She is survived by four children, Nancy Eneboe Trapp, Washington, DC, Cheryl Eneboe Shepard, Edward B. Eneboe and Bruce K. Eneboe all of Tucson; grandchild, Bethany Trapp; cousins, Terry and Dale Bothwell. Graveside Inurnment Services will be on Saturday, January 4, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5601 E. KEY, Blanche H., 92, of Tucson, died December 29, 1996. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survived by sister, Frances (Russell) Lowe of Seattle, WA; stepchildren, David Key of OR and Barbara Hill of WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. MARTIN, Wayne Joseph, 81, of Tucson, died Tuesday, December 31, 1996. He is survived by his children, Larry (Doris) Martin of Tucson, Nancy (Mel) Williams of Amado, Betty Martin of Tucson; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
