ANDREWS, David R., 31, of Tucson, died February 24, 1997. Survivors include: mother, Guillermina of Tucson; sister, Maria Weisenberger, Tucson, brothers, Maurice Andrews Jr., Ft. Lewis, WA, William Andrews, Seattle, WA, Oscar Contreras, Everett, WA and Ruben Contreras, Tucson. Preceded in death by his father, Maurice H. Andrews and a sister, Anita Contreras. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Was employed by the Robinson May Co. for several years. Funeral will be at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), 1:00 p.m. February 28, 1997 with Dale Jacobson officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.

FLORIAN, Kenneth, 66, of Tucson, died suddenly on February 24, 1997. Survivors include: his wife, Marjorie Martin-Florian; children, Susan Sisler, Gary (Cindy), Jim (Laura) Florian; Marjorie’s children, Donald (Genny), Gordon (Jennifer) Martin, Lorraine (Michael) Krause; grandchildren, Brandie, Cheryl, Carol and Rachael Sisler, Beth and Tim Florian, Michael and Marc Florian, Cameron and Victoria Martin, Conner and Taylor Martin, Bryan and John Krause; great-granddaughter, Katelynn Rose Sisler; one sister, Mabel (Ken) Deeg, plus many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by Frances Florian. Ken was a Civil Engineer who enjoyed being with his family, bowling and gardening. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), Wednesday, February 26, 1997 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial Services will be at Central Church of the Nazarene, 404 S.Columbus, 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 1997. INGRAM, Frederick Matthew, age 70, of Tucson, passed away February 24, 1997. A Memorial service will be held today at noon at the Episcopal Church of St. Matthew, 9071 E. Old Spanish Trail. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew’s Building Fund, P.O. Box 17116, Tucson, Arizona 85731. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.

LOIDOLT, Lawrence H., 53, geologist and former Tucson resident, died on February 18, 1997 in Laguna Beach, CA, of complications from a kidney infection. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, former Tucsonan Christine Miller; their three sons, Shane, 18, Travis, 15 and Bryce, 12 all of Laguna Beach; and his mother, Irma Loidolt of Tucson. Services will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 2:30 p.m. in Lang Park, Laguna Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the L.H. Loidolt Memorial Scholarship, c/o Laguna Beach High School Scholarship Foundation, 625 Park Ave., Laguna Beach, CA 92651. Larry was born and raised in Chicago, ILL. He received a BS in Geology from the University of Wisconsin, and an MS in Geology from the University of Arizona. He was an accomplished geologist, founding his own mineral exploration company in 1972. At the time of his death, he was President of Pacific Gold Mines, Inc., Laguna Beach, CA. He will be remembered for his steadfast pursuit of his dreams, his contagious laugh, his eternal optimism and his passion for all things of the earth–the sun, the sand, the sea and of course the rocks. Most of all, his family will remember him as a cherished son, loving husband and devoted father.

MARCH, Elizabeth, 66 of Tucson, passed away on February 20, 1997 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Montreal, Canada. Mrs. March is survived by her loving husband John H. March, sons John Stratton March, Daniel Anthony (Cliftina) March and Jason Alexander (Chrissy) March. A longtime accountant for Engineers’ Society of New York, in New York City. Elizabeth had a great love of others and animals. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by the who know her. Our Lord know it was time to call her home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Father John F. Allt, on Thursday, February 27, 1997 at 12: 10 at St. Joseph Church, 215 S. Craycroft. Also survived by sister Ann Snyder of St. Louis, MO and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Anthony (Mary), and Joseph, Henry (Grace), Michael (Peggy), Rose Granelli and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.

MCQUAY, Joe, 83, of Tucson, died February 25, 1997. Survivors include: his wife, Cindy McQuay, Tucson; sons, Larry Wolter, Las Vegas, NV, Calvin Wolter, Ankeny, Iowa; daughters, Joyce Cox, Redlands, CA, Joan Kraak, Sierra Vista, AZ; brother, John McQuay, Evansville, Indiana; sister, Opal Hahs, Ocala, FL; grandchildren, Erik and Kelly Wolter; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. McQuay was a veteran US Army WWII, a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He had been a resident of Tucson since 1952. Graveside services will be at East Lawn Palms Memorial Park, Friday, February 28, 1997, 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Brian Dill of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 3925 E. 5th St. Tucson 85711 in the name of Joe McQuay. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

RASKIN, Fannie Thaler, 89, of Tucson, passed away on February 25, 1997. She came to America from Bobroisk, Belarus at age 11, the youngest of six sisters and two brothers and was the last survivor. She was the proprietor of a thriving retail shop in Levittown, Long Island. After moving with her husband, Sol Thaler to Florida, she became a successful real estate agent. She was a Democratic committee women for many years, a Judge for the Board of Elections in Florida and a volunteer for UJA. Upon moving to Tucson, she immediately became active through Jewish Family and Children’s Service in the effort to resettle Jewish refugees from the former Soviet Union. She remained totally fluent in written and spoken Russian, and assisted in translating for the New Jewish Americans and in easing their transition to Tucson. She participated in the annual Super Sunday solicitation by Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona. She is survived by a son, Dr. Victor H. Thaler of Dayton, Ohio and a daughter, Marsha G.Cohen of Tucson; five grandchildren, Reid Thaler of San Anselmo, California, Nannette Nateman of Hanson, Kentucky, Fern Billet of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, Dorrian Fragola of Medfield, Massachusetts and Saul Cohen of Worcester, Massachusetts and three great-great-grandchildren, Lara and Zachary Billet and Remy Fragola. Services will be held at the VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N.Tucson Blvd., (one block North Grant.) at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28. Private interment will be held in N.Y. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Jewish Family and Children’s Service, 1011 N. Craycroft, Tucson 85711. Directed by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 327-6341.

RENTFROW, Melvin F., 88, a Tucson resident for 25 years, died peacefully February 25, 1997. Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Alice, and son, Russell. Survived by his son, Robert K., and daughter-in-law, Kathie, and grandchildren, Greg and Heidi, of Tucson. He was born in Effingham IL, one of nine children of Henry and Bertha (Bullerman) Rentfrow. He was a graduate of General Motors Institute, and employed for 40 years as an engineer with various divisions of General Motors. He enjoyed gardening and reading. By his wishes, no service will be held.

SHELEY, Minnie Augusta (nee Delong), 86, passed away to her Maker on February 25, 1997. Survived by her husband of 53 years, Walter; son, Jim and grandson, Sean. Minnie was born on a farm near Tarlton, OH on June 10, 1910. Three brothers preceded her in death. Minnie’s relatives were immigrants from Darmstadt, Germany. She had worked as a shoe inspector, secretary, accountant and elementary school cafeteria cashier. In her better days, Minnie enjoyed cooking and canasta and was totally devoted to her husband. She was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church. Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 1997 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Pastor Roy Guinn officiating. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army in memory of Minnie Sheley.

SITTERLEY, Theodore Synyer, 83, passed away February 23, 1997. Born January 9, 1914 in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, Ted was raised in Bronxville, New York and educated at Mercersburg Academy and Lehigh University. In college he played football, ran track and became expert fencer. He was also a drum major and member of Alpha Tan Omega fraternity. A skilled sailor, he had a great love of the sea. Antique and contemporary firearms were another passion dating from his days as champion trap and skeet shooter. After time as Vice-President of a world wide publishing company, his engineering background led him to the aircraft industry where he worked for a number of the country’s largest aerospace firms, retiring from Hughes Aircraft in 1980. A resident of Tucson since 1949, Ted gave his support to many community efforts and especially in the later years to the University of Arizona Arthritis Center of which he was a Board member. He was a member of the University of Arizona Foundation’s President’s Club, Tucson Country Club, a Mason, both 32nd degree Scottish Rite and Knight’s Templar York Rite, a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International, President Emeritus of the Hughes Management Club and member of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church. A kind, generous and courageous gentleman, he is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte and sons, Ted Jr. (Marsha) and Tom. Also three grandchildren, Tom Jr. (Erin), Ted R. (Gretchen) and Charlotte Anne and three great-grandchildren. Private family service. Interment at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, New York. Remembrances may be made to the University of Arizona Arthritis Center or St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, 3809 E. Third St. Local arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.

BUSHNELL, June Lorraine, 88, died February 24, 1997. Mother of Georgia Kelly and Dixie Lee Snyder both of CA; sister of Velma Bushnell of CO; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. Memorial Service, 3:30 p.m. Friday, February 28 at Freedom Fellowship Church, 1520 S. Melpomene Way, with Rev. Frank Kimberling officiating. CHACON, Raymond A., 68, of Tucson, passed away February 24, 1997. He will be forever remembered as a great and loving father who enjoyed his family and music. Those who knew him were will aware of the love and emotion he shared. He retired from the US Army as a Sargeant Major after 23 years and also retired from the City of Tucson Water Department as a Research Analyst after 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Connie C.; seven children, Gary R. (Angie), CA, Linda M. (David) Henry, Safford, Charles J. (Rhonda), WA, Michael D. (Norma), Tucson, Mary C. (Alex Bohenko), Tucson, Sandra A. (Ron) Monroig, Chandler and Larry (Billie Jo) Eaton, CO; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, February 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chacon Residence of 925 W. Missouri St., Tucson.

COLVIN, Jeffrey C. 'Jefe' 18, of Tucson, passed away February 23, 1997. Survived by grandparents, Carlos Colvin and Rudy Ruiz; parents, Leonard and Susan Colvin; brother, Lenny Colvin, Jr. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Jeffrey was a sports fan and participated in football, baseball and basketball for CDO High School. He also had a great love for music. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 1997 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Sacred Heath Church, 601 E. Ft. Lowell Rd., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Friday, February 28, 1997 at 8:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. GRUBB, Jonna Marie Sovola, 39, of Tucson, a Certified College Health Nurse and Acute Care Charge Nurse at the University of Arizona Campus Health Center, died February 23, 1997. Survivors include her sons, Alex, 12 and Max, 10; father Edward Sovola; mother, Rosemary O’Brien; sisters, Linda Kresan and Kathy Grubb and fiance, Alan Cook. Visitation is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 27 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, with services following at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Campus Health Foundation, c/o Campus Health Services, P.O. LOVE, Sybil Edna, of Tucson, died February 22, 1997. Survivors include: children, Claude Love (Dolores), Fresno, CA, Jay Dee Love (Jean), Sahuarita, AZ, Betty Harper (Ralph), West Plains, MO, Russell Love (Joyce), Tucson, AZ; 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Love was a charter founder of the Country Jaynes Extension Club and past president of the Woman’s Auxillary of the Veterans of World War I. She was of the Methodist faith. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), February 27, 1997 from 10:00 to 11:00. Funeral Services will be at the DODGE CHAPEL, February 27th 11:00, with Bishop Craig Sanford officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. MARTINEZ, Arturo L., 71, of Tucson, passed away February 22, 1997. Preceded in death by parents; six brothers and two sisters. Survived by wife, Olivia C. Martinez; daughters, Celia (Marty) Galaz, Lydia (Jack) Scoggins; son, Arturo C. (Debra J.) Martinez Jr.; sisters, Ofelia (Santiago) Morales, Elvira (Jose) Ceballos, Lydia Martinez; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Martinez retired in 1987 from Magma-San Manuel after 30 years of service. Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother. 'Tati' will be greatly missed by Michelle and Stephanie. Always keep your eyes on the Lord for He shall lead you into His Kingdom. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 1997 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. MAYER, Anne 83, of Tucson and formerly of Lakewood, Ohio, passed away February 16, 1997. Survived by children, Willa Lappi of New Hampshire, Paula Mayer of Colorado and Rick Mayer of Maryland. Also three grandchildren, Geoffrey and Jennifer Lappi and Rachel Mayer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Mayer. No services will be held. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

PESSIN, Avis, 82, a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 1997. Preceded in death by William, her loving husband of 50 years. Survived by brother Clyde (Marion) Siercks of WI; sons, David (Vicki) Pessin; daughter, Carmen (Larry) Hust; grandchildren, Stacy, Bill, Ty, Brian, Brett, Katie, Bart, Brandi; and great-grandchildren, Bobby, Harley, Kayla and special loved ones, Gary, Rob, Denise and Scott. Graveside Service, 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 28, at TMP East Lawn. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
