GRADILLAS, Amalia Aguirre, 92, died June 13, 1997. Mother of Estella G. Cavicchioni, Elda S. (Frank) Reyna and Odilia Miranda all of Tucson; grandmother of Rick (Laurie) Reyna of Tucson, Michael Reyna of Tucson and Madeleine Cavicchioni (Anthony) Crespo of Houston, Tx; great-grandmother of Veronica and Victoria Reyna, 'Gus' and Greg Reyna and Daniel Crespo; sister of Mary A. Lopez of Tucson. Mrs. Gradillas was born of a Pioneer Family at the Buenos Aires Ranch and is the last surviving daughter of Don Pedro Aguirre. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert S. Gradillas; her parents, Don Pedro and Magdalena; her grandson, Rocky Cavicchioni; and her sister, Elena A. Gonzales. Rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 15. Mass will be offered at 9:00 a.m. Monday, June 16 at St. Augustine Cathedral with Msgr Arsenio Carrillo officiating. Burial will be in Holy Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers, Oscar Gonzales, Rick Reyna, Tony Andrade, Bill Gonzales, Michael Reyna and Carlos Elzy Jr. Honorary Pallbearers, Frank Reyna, Sal Andrade, Anthony Crespo, Edward Gradillas and Danny Cavicchioni. Visitation was held on Sunday, June 15 at BRING’S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott.

HARRIS, Lanora Ethel (Craig), 83, a resident of Tucson since 1988, passed away June 14, 1997 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. Born in Stroud, OK, in 1935 she married Glenwood Harris, who survives. They had been active in the United Methodist Church in the various cities in which they had lived: Tulsa, Kansas City, Birmingham, AL, and Houston. Mrs. Harris also is survived by the couple’s three daughters and their families, Wanda and Adrian Harris Manktelow of Dartmouth, England; Elaine and Steve Hedden of Tucson, Trevor Hedden of Tucson, and Jared Hedden of Los Angeles; Freida and Jack Skinner of Tucson, Rob Skinner of Tucson, Jeff (Linda); and daughter, Emily Skinner of Houston, and Jill (Carl) and daughter Layni Bowen of Richmond, VA. Also surviving are her sisters and their husbands, Ara Mae (Wayne) Calhoun and Genevieve (Ralph) Scott of Bella Vista, AR. Preceding her in death were her granddaughter, Sabrina Wilson and Sabrina’s father, John Wilson. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on June 17 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 18 at Christ Church United Methodist. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christ Church United Methodist 655 N. Craycroft Rd. in memory of Lanora. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

RATCLIFF, Lucille P., age 73, of Tucson passed June 13, 1997. Survived by brother-in-laws, Roy Ratcliff, CA and Henry Ratcliff, TX. Sister-in-law, Hattie M, Inman, AL. Stepmother, Flossie Thomas, AL. Mrs. Ratcliff was a devoted worker in the community, by offering music lessons to underprivileged youngsters in the city of Tucson. Her husband, Arthur Ratcliff, preceded her in death, who was a chemistry teacher in the Tucson Unified School District. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday June 18, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sharon 7th Day Adventist Church 955 North 10th Ave, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until Service with Pastor M. W. Warfield officiating. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave.

RUDH, Merel E., died June 14, 1997.Funeral service and interment will be in Florida. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

SERGE, Joseph Bruno, 85, of Tucson died June 15, 1997. He is survived by sisters, Margaret and Frances Serge of Tucson.Loving uncle of five nieces and 10 great nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place Tuesday, June 17 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd., (one block North Grant.) Interment will take place in Franklin, PA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Directed by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME.

YANEK, David Joseph, 47, died June 13, 1997. Survived by parents, Joseph and Juanita Yanek. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

BETHEL, Theresa, born January 13, 1925, was met by the angels she so dearly loved on Friday, June 6, 1997. She was born Theresa Kohut in Wheeling, WV, to a family of nine. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Anne Kabala, Mary Kudlak, Olga Sebulsky and Irene Mcquay. She is survived by Katherine Martin, Nora Czaruk, Pete Kohut and Vera Kohut. Theresa moved to Tucson with her husband William Marion Bethel who preceded her in death and awaited her arrival last Friday. Together they adopted two sons, William Marion, Jr. and Shawn Christopher. She will be remembered by William and his wife Kathleen and her two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Meagan. She will greatly be missed by Shawn and his fiance Beverly Chilicky. The family wishes to thank the relatives, friends and the hospice staff for their love and support during Theresa’s last days here with us. A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, June 10 at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a donation to the T.M.C. Hospice Program. Services were conducted by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 327-6341.

FELIX, Jesus L., 73, of Tucson, AZ, died June 12, 1997. Survived by sons, Jesus S. Felix, Jr., Joe (Maria) Felix, Raymond (Sulema) Felix; daughters, Amalia Felix and Angelita Caballero; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 'Beloved father and grandfather, you will be greatly missed.'Visitation will be held Monday, June 16, 1997 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 1220 S. 6th Avenue.

Elvira Lara Munoz 'Ma Vera', 63, of Tucson, passed away June 11, 1997. Preceded in death by parents, Juan Lara and Eliza R. Lara and brother, Julio R. Lara. Survived by husband, Manuel B. Munoz; daughters, Marta (Johnny), Peewha (Jimmy) and Moca; son, Doey (Lori); sister, Sara F. Arvizu; and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, 1997 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Mausoleum. Arrangements by CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY. She will be missed and remembered by all of us. Ma Vera we love you. After Burial Services the family wishes to retire in their home for private bereavement. The family wishes to thank everyone for their support, love and prayers.

NEIL, Etta, 88, of Tucson, died June 11, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, Art. Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Pigott; grandchildren, James (Laura) Parker, Brenda (Jeanette) Esquibel, Martha (Jay) Quiros, David Young; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Eugene, Waldo and Kelse and one sister, Marie; plus many loving relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Etta’s name to Carondelet Hospice. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd.

NYE, Helen T., died June 11, 1997 in Novato, CA at the age of 86. She was born in Sedalia, MO. She raised her family in Kansas City before retiring to Tucson with her husband, Carl in 1973. Mrs. Nye is survived by her sons, Kenneth Nye of Leawood, KS and James Nye of Novato, CA. She also leaves four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

PRIOR, Thomas Edward, 55, died suddenly June 10, 1997. Retired USAF. Survived by daughters, Catherine Richter and Cynthia (Steve) Cesare; granddaughter, Jennifer Kreidler and grandsons, Christopher, Steven and Andrew Cesare, all of Tucson. As was his wish, his remains will be cremated. Private ceremony for the family will follow.

RICE-DENNICK, Suzanna Lou, age 65, a resident of Tucson for the past 11 years, passed away June 10, 1997. Born August 12, 1931 in Shamokim, Pennsylvania. She was a volunteer at the Salvation Army, a Microbiologist, and Chef and co-owner of Arizona Corporate Catering. She is survived by her three children, John Palmer, Elizabeth Booser and Jennifer Barker; eight grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Ahmed Abdullah in 1972 and husband, Wilford N. Dennick in 1991. A memorial service will be private. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY.

WADDELL, Piert P., born April 27, 1916 in Sneedsville, TN, died June 12, 1997. Piert served in the Army and is a WWII veteran. He married Florence Hoke in 1966. He is survived by his wife, Florence; five children, Arnold from Illinois, Sharon, Kathy and Donna Jean, all from Colorado and Chrosia from Nebraska. He is also survived by seven stepchildren; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Enchanted Hills Southern Baptist Church, 3020 S. Mission Rd., in Piert’s name. Services will be held in Colorado. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.

ADAMS, Carl H., 76, died June 10, 1997. Husband of Mary Adams. Arrangements by BRING’S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott.

CANFIELD, Harold E., 96, died June 12, 1997. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

Ronald William Lamb, 58, passed away peacefully on May 29, 1997, at home. His daughters, Cherie Lamb and Penny Quihuis; son-in-law, Albert Quihuis and grandchildren, Dominic and Nichole Quihuis were at his side. Born October 2, 1938, in Chicago, IL. Ron had an extreme love for life, his family and nature. Preceded in death by grandson, Derrick Quihuis. Survived by six children, Ronald Lamb, Penny Quihuis, Donald Lamb, Joseph Lamb, Thomas Lamb, Cherie Lamb; eight grandchildren. On June 14, 1997, a private Memorial Service for friends and family will be held in honor of Ronald 'Tank' Lamb.

LLOYD, Ella B., 65, of Tucson, died June 10, 1997. Survived by husband, Lonnie L.; daughter, Marlene F. Jose of Tucson; brothers, Fred T. Jose of Kamiah, ID, Franklin D. Jose of Phoenix; sister, Virginia R. Delores of Sells; grandchildren, Jennifer Jose Marin, Jason J. Joaquin, Sara A. Manuel, Prugh Michael Jose, Jr. and Monalito Jose; three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends. Friends may call Saturday from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, 5:00 p.m., Sells Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Fresnal Canyon Cemetery.

MILLER, Frank Leslie, 87, born in New York, NY on September 15, 1909, died June 8, 1997. Parents, Elbert H. Miller, Jr. and Ida Pawles Miller. A Navy WWII veteran. He lived in Arizona for 33 years. Son, Peter Elbert Miller. Cremation.

Reynaldo Dean 'Dusty' Swengel, 57, died June 5, 1997. Survived by his children Angie (Juan) Mendoza, Rosemary Swengel, Frank Swengel, Pearlita (Luis) Fraijo, Delilah (Gene) Fraijo, Rita (George) Zepeda, Xavier (Jackie) Swengel, Reynaldo Swengel; grandchildren, John Swengel, Stephanie Swengel, Desiree Mendoza, Celeste Mendoza, James Swengel, Michelle Swengel, Esperanza Lopez, Herminia Lopez, Antonio Valencia, Armando Valencia, Clairisa Fraijo, Celina Fraijo, Adela Fraijo, Delores, Zepeda, George Zepeda, Carmen Zepeda, Santiago Zepeda, Daniel Swengel, Sammuel Swengel, Frances Swengel, Carlos Fraijo, Luis Fraijo, Theresa Fraijo, Gabriel Lopez; brothers, Roberto Martinez, George Martinez; sisters, Letha Canez, Carolina (Frank) Flores, Lydia (Richard) Estrella, Ghema Bravo. Arrangements by EAST LAWN Palms Mortuary Chapel, 5801 E. Grant Road. Pastor Lupe Rodriguez of Agape Christian Fellowship officiated. Burial followed at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

WIGHTMAN, Gwyneth Marion, 78, of Tucson, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. She is survived by her husband, Keith. Graveside Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 1997 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Overseas Missionary Fellowship, 10 W. Dry Creek Circle, Littleton, CO 80120-4413 or to Grace Chapel, 6180 E. Pima St., Tucson, 85712.
