PRIBBLE, William D., passed away Tuesday morning, September 23, 1997 at the El Dorado Hospital in Tucson, AZ. He was born September 4, 1920. Moving here from Michigan, he has resided in Tucson for the past 10 years. He retired from the Flint Police Dept., in Flint, MI. His wife, Elaine, passed away in July, 1996. Surviving are his two sons: William J. and Robert D. Pribble; a sister: Ruth Cloutier Gronowski of MI; several nieces, nephews and a lot of good friends. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 11, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. in the Club House at Rincon Country Mobile Home Park, 3411 S. Camino Seco. Arrangements are under the direction of ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.

TURNER, James H., Jr., 72, died October 6, 1997 in Tucson, AZ. Mr. Turner died after suffering a heart attack on October 4, 1997. Mr. Turner was a longtime resident of Richmond, VA., moving to Tucson, AZ in 1990 after retiring. He worked for Mauck & Co., an Ab Dick Distributor, in Richmond, VA for 36 years. He was a veteran of the 9th Air Force in WW II, serving in England and the battle campaigns of northern France, the Ardennes and the Rhineland. Mr. Turner is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris S. Turner; a son, former Henrico Sheriff Jim Turner of Sacramento, CA; a daughter, Sandie Turner of White Stone, VA; a sister, Frances Isner of Christianburg, VA; a grandson, James H. Turner, IV of Old Orchard Beach, ME; a granddaughter, Carmen Ward of Deltaville, VA; a great-grandson, James H. Turner, V of Old Orchard Beach, ME; and numerous nieces. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Thursday, October 9, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. at the Voyager Resort in Tucson. He will be interred at Greenwood Memorial Park, Richmond, VA, There will be a Memorial Service conducted in Richmond, VA, details to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tucson Medical Center, 5301 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ, 85712. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

Sharon Lynn Wilcox, age 35, passed away October 3, 1997 from a brain aneurysm. Sharon was born December 14, 1961 in Lansing, MI. She graduated from East Lansing High School in 1980; continued her education at Michigan State University; and moved to the southwest where she worked as an Advertising Executive for the Arizona Republic in Phoenix and most recently was Retail Sales Manager at Tucson Newspapers. Sharon was active in numerous professional organizations; was a member of the Tucson Community Church; attended classes at Phoenix Community College; and enjoyed hiking in her leisure time. Preceded in death by her father, Delbert Wilcox, Sharon is survived by her mother, Yvonne Wilcox of Lansing; brother, Kent (Donna) Wilcox of East Lansing; sisters, Kathleen (Craig) Zerkle of East Lansing, Dana (Buck) Light of Sasabe, AZ and Karen Wilcox of Lansing; godparents, Gary and Vicki Wilcox; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family wishes her a safe and peaceful passage to even greater heights and challenges with our love and thoughts as wings. A Memorial Service will be held in Lansing at Christ Lutheran Church, 122 S. Pennsylvania, on Thursday, October 9 at 10:00 a.m. Since Sharon was an avid hiker and loved the mountains, an informal service will be held in Tucson Saturday, October 11 at 9:30 a.m. at the Pima Canyon Trailhead Parking Area. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Tucson Community Church Building Fund, 7229 N. Thornydale, Tucson 85741 or the charity of your choice.

BIXLER, Harry T., 77, of Corona de Tucson, passed away October 3, 1997. Survived by wife, Elsa; daughter, Lynn (James) Pendley also of Corona de Tucson. Private services were held. Remembrances may be made to the Community Food Bank. Arrangements by HUDGEL’S SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd & Swan.

CARMICHAEL, Eugene (Gene) Martin, 67, died Saturday, October 4, 1997, surrounded by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Georgia Ann; son, Dennis (Jill) Carmichael and grandchildren, Kristin, Lindsay and Sean, all of Rockford, IL; brothers, Harry, David Carmichael ofAurora, CO and Richard (Shirley) Carmichael of Fremont, NE; uncle, Wes (Catherine) Carmichael of Phoenix, AZ; aunt, Ethel Carmichael of Sidney, NE; sister-in-law, Joyce Pesek of Ord, NE and brother-in-law, Jim Miller of Enfield, CT. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Lynn; parents, Harry and Mildred Carmichael and sister, Catherine Miller. Gene began his life journey on December 2, 1929 in Kearney, NE and attended school there. In 1947 he joined the Nebraska National Guard. He entered the United States Air Force in 1950, serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. In 1970, Gene retired as a Tech Sergeant at DMAFB. After retiring he worked for TUSD, Gates Learjet and for AMARC, where he retired in 1994. Gene was an active member of Christ Church United Methodist; Builders Masonic Lodge #60, Order of Eastern Star Desert Star Chapter #54; Sabbar Temple of Tucson and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was a Past Associate Grand Guardian of Jobs’ Daughters of Arizona. Gene enjoyed playing cards, traveling and camping, having coffee with his cronies, watching sports (especially Arizona Wildcats and Nebraska Cornhuskers) and visiting with his many friends. His home and family were his first love and seeing his three grandchildren always brought a smile to his face. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church United Methodist, 655 N. Craycroft, Tucson, AZ on Wednesday, October 8, 1997 at 5:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Gene’s memory may be made to Christ Church United Methodist. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.

CARR, Evelyn A., 72, died October 2, 1997. Beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Survived by husband, Sherwood Carr; children, Ronald (Arlene) Carr, Sallie (Jerry) Rosser and Betty Moore; 12 grandchildren; and one sister, Lilla Priest. Evelyn was a long time member of El Camino Baptist Church, 7777 E. Speedway, where Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 8, 1997. CLARK, Nancy Ola, age 83, of Tucson, Arizona, died October 3, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Thomas Carl Clark, Sr. on April 14, 1997. Beloved mother of Thomas Carl Clark, Jr.; and daughter and son-in-law, Carlyon and Onas Van Winkle of Tucson; niece and her husband, Mary Alice and David Fields, Tucson; nephew, Joe Ervin Dunn of Phoenix; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. We will miss our very dear friend and mother. Services 11:00 a.m. October 8, 1997 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. DOMICONE, Emeransa, 93, died October 4, 1997. Survived by her son, Robert (Jeanine) Domicone; her daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Henry) Machado; grandchildren, Susan (Shawn) Degan, Dina Machado and Todd Alday; great-grandchild, Michael Degan; and brother, John Compton. DOTY, Velma Brown, died Saturday, October 4, 1997 at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth H. Brown; and by her mother, Grace Storie Graves; and father, Herbert Graves. She is survived by her only child, Linda Brown Lynn; and her sister-in-law, Xenia Brown Gills, both of Tucson, AZ.Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 1997, at Evergreen Cemetery, Oracle and Ft. Lowell.

GARCIA, Francisco E., 70, of Tucson, passed away October 5, 1997. Survived by wife, Rosa Garcia; son, Jesus M. (Isabel) Garcia; sisters, Socorro Figueroa, Sara Ruiz, Georgina Ruiz; brother, Jesus Garcia; five grandchildren. HARRIS, Martin Michael, 70, died October 4, 1997. Father of Debra Costillo and Constance Roseler; Grandfather of Kyle Roseler; Brother of Thomas Harris, Dennis Harris, Rita Ward; and Life Partner, Karen Haxton also survive. WEBER, Elisabeth A., age 84, of Tucson, passed away October 3, 1997. She is survived by her nieces, Lois Enlow of Ravenna, OH; and Chris Baggett of Newark, Delaware. Also survived by her good friend, Marion Shoun of Tucson. WHITE, Thomas Alexander, born July 26, 1997 was taken from us September 23, 1997. Thomas will forever be in the hearts and souls of family and friends. The light in his eyes and the glow of his smile lit the world making it a brighter place for the short time he was here. His loving memory will cross our paths every day for the rest of our lives. We love and miss you dearly. Services were held at Valley Funeral Home.

LEE, Ben John, 64. Postmaster. Born in Tucson, AZ, December 27, 1932, went to be with the Lord on October 3, 1997. Survived by wife, Jade; sons, Randy and Mark of Tucson; daughter, Christine and son-in-law, Tim Flannery, granddaughter Caitlyn of San Diego; brothers, Franklin, Bobby, Victor, Howard (Karen), Edward (Shirley) of Tucson; and numerous nephews and nieces.
