COTA, Juan G., 75, of Tucson, died Friday, March 20, 1998. Mr. Cota is preceded in death by his son, Joe Cota. Juan is survived by his wife, Rosa; son, Ramon (Pauline) Cota; daughter, Rosa (Horaldo) Rascon, both of Tucson; grandchildren, Anthony, Angelica, Joe, Michael, and Jacquelyn. HUDGEL, Lawrence E., 85, passed away March 20, 1998 in Green Valley, AZ. He was born in Anthon, Iowa on June 3, 1912. Dr. Hudgel graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1936 and served in the Army Medical Corp in World War II. He practiced general medicine in Scottsbluff, NE, and in Casper, Wyoming as an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist. He retired to Green Valley, AZ in 1987. His wife, Kathleen, preceded him in death in 1995. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Green Valley. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Jo Hudgel of Berkeley, CA; his son, Dr. David Hudgel of Cleveland, OH; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; brother, Edwin F. Hudgel of Tucson; sisters, Susan Mack of Omaha, NE; Edith Moore of St. Paul, MN; Herma Cummings of Phoenix, AZ; and Marjorie Lloyd of Hornick, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 1998 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Green Valley, AZ. Entombment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery, Tucson, AZ. OUELLETTE, Mary Lou ”Lisa”, 53, of Tucson, died March 17, 1998. Mary Lou is survived by husband, Roger Ouellette of Tucson; father Matias Montana of El Paso, TX; sisters, Rosa (Rick) Schonfeld of Tucson, Micaela Barrera of El Paso, TX; brothers, Sam (Sylvia) Montana of El Paso, TX, Eddie (Rachel) Montana of El Paso, TX; two nieces and five nephews. SCHOLLARS, Harry Paul, 61, of Tucson, AZ, died on March 17, 1998 while working in Palm Springs, CA. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rhoda E. Schollars. He is also survived by his two sons, Todd (Helen) Schollars of Malmstead Air Force Base, Montana and Devin Schollars of San Diego, CA. He had three grandsons, Nathan, Matthew and John, and one granddaughter, Nichole. Harry was born May 16, 1936 in Kansas City, Missouri and spent his childhood in Omaha, NE, with his parents, Harry and Irene Schollars, both deceased. He was a resident of Tucson since 1985. A celebration of his life will be held March 25.

TELLEZ, Maria M., 81, of Tucson, passed away on March 21, 1998. Survived by daughters, Esther (Manuel), Trini (Manuel), Isabel (William), Reyna (Francisco); sons, Jose, Bernardo (Carmen). Also survived by 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 1998 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, North Chapel, 204 S. Elizabeth ”Betty” Lane Ehrhart, 89, passed away on March 12, 1998. Born in Roswell, NM, she attended Martha Washington Seminary in Washington, D.C. and the Univ. of New Mexico in Albuquerque before marrying Joseph J. Lane, Jr. of Roswell. They ranched in southeastern and southwestern New Mexico and near Wilcox, Arizona all their married lives. She was active in many charitable and civic organizations and served as President of the Arizona Cowbelles in 1951. After Mr. Lanes death, she moved to Tucson in 1954 and lived here the rest of her life. She married Jack Ehrhart in 1964, who passed away in 1976. She is survived by her two sons, Joe (Susan) Lane and C.B. ”Doc” (Patti) Lane; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A Memorial will be held this Sunday, March 22, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at St. Philip’s in the Hills.

E. Lorraine ”Lori” Gerber, 68, of Tucson, died March 19, 1998. Born in 1929 in Bronx, New York. Preceded in death by her mother and father, Hazel and Morris Marcus and brother, Chester. Survived by her loving husband, Herman (Hy); and two loving sons, Richard (Sandy) from Denver, CO and Barry of Tucson; and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Stephanie Gerber. She was the founder of Lori’s Collectibles of Tucson. A Celebration of Life will be March 22, 1998, 1:00 p.m. at Knights of Pythias, 2435 N. 17th. Donations may be made in Lori’s memory to TMC Hospice.

HINTZE, Margaret E., 70, of Tucson, died March 19, 1998. She is survived by husband, Arthur; son, David (Cindy) Hintze of Tucson; daughters, Anne (Bill) Bailey of Gig Harbor, WA, Linda (Joe) Judnick of Eastpointe, MI, Kathy (Al) Chmielewski of Eastpointe, MI, Susan (Richard) Heintz of Tucson; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Carole Shelton of Vancouver, WA and Mabel Marshal of Tucson. JAMES, Sarah Helen, 91, of Tucson, died March 19, 1998. Mother of Bernadette H. Heacock, Raymond H. James, both of Tucson, Gilbert J. James of Silver City, NM and F. David James of Thailand; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, March 24, 1998 at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. MADY, Harriet F., 85, of Arizona, died on Friday, March 20, 1998. Mrs. Mady was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on July 8, 1912 to Messina and Margaret McManus. She is survived by daughter, Julie (David) Majeske; grandchildren, Robert, Meghan and Michael; and nieces, Kathleen McManus, Mary Larson, Betsey Sandstrom and Laurie Keen. The family will have private services. Arrangements by family owned, ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.

MCANALLEN, Harry William, 73, of Tucson, died March 18, 1998. He is survived by his children, Leesa L. (B. Dean) Ross, Patricia Mc Anallen and Hal Mc Anallen; grandchildren, Keith William Ross, Joshua Travis, Hillary Diane, Derrek William and Cassandra Louise; two brothers, Heyward and Victor Mc Anallen; sister, Mary Louise; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. QUINTANA, Manuel Dominguez, 74, of Tucson, died Thursday, March 19, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, Manuel (Rachel) Quintana Jr.; daughters, Dominga (Eswin) Rodas, Janie (Jose) Espinosa; Amy Quintana, Maria (Favio) Contraeras; and eight grandchildren. Funeral Mass, Monday, March 23, 1998 at St. Johns Catholic Church, 602 W. Ajo with Burial to follow in South Lawn Cemetery. SLOAT, William J., 80, passed away March 17, 1998. Survived by wife, Joan D.; daughter, Jody Shoemaker of Tucson and son, William H. Sloat of OR; brother, Clark S. Sloat of Tucson; seven grandchildren and two great-grandson. At his request, there will be no services.

SPACKMAN, Sally Ann, 55, of Tucson, finished her work in obedience to the Lord on March 15, 1998 and now rejoices in His Presence. Survived by husband, Jim; son, Ryan; and daughter, Paige, all of Tucson; by mother, Lorene; and brother, David Joe of Bloomington, Indiana. Services were on Thursday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Casas Adobes Baptist Church, 2131 W. Ina Rd. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery. In memory of Sally, donations may be made at any Bank of America branch, payable to the Sally Spackman Memorial Fund, a portion of which will benefit Bible Study Fellowship.

WIGGINS, William ”Duke”, 44, of Tucson, passed away March 17, 1998. Preceded in death by his father, William A. Wiggins and brother, Andy L. Wiggins. Survived by wife, Dina; mother, Shirley Wiggins; sons, William Douglas and Michael David Wiggins; sisters, Terri (Robert) Smidt and Kathy A. Sherwood; brothers, Alan G. (Sherry) and Robin (Tami) Wiggins. William served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. COWLE, Hazel Lu, 87, born February 9, 1911 to Robert Harvey and Florence Iona Jenkins in Phoenix, AZ, died March 17, 1998, Tucson, AZ. Hazel had lived in Sun City, AZ before moving to Tucson. She and her husband, William M. Cowle spent 25 years living in various parts of the world, including Singapore where she started an American Newspaper. During her time in Sun City she became active with the National League of American Pen Woman, founding and serving as charter president for that chapter. For many years she wrote the Arizona Column for the ”West Art”. She also published a semi-autobiographical novel, Gilagae. Survived by son, Chad (Ann) Cowle; grandchildren, Cynthia (John) Nodson, Cheryl Baker, Tracy (Camille), Forrest (Cecilia), Morgan, Daniel Cowle and Lisl (Jim) Collins; great-grandchildren, Joshua Mooney, Michelle and Andrea Capella, Donna, Tricia and John Nodson, Melina Cowle, Ammon, Dayde, Makay and Jordan Collins. Preceded in death by daughter, Helen Ann ”Bunnye” Baker in 1954. Friends may call 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 1998 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Billye Thelma Duncan, Age 77, of Tucson, AZ died March 17, 1998. In loving and grateful memory of Billye Thelma Duncan. She was the strength and foundation of our family. Besides being a devoted and loving wife to William E.Duncan for 61 years, she was a loving and treasured mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Eddie Duncan (Jama, Gianna, Suzy, Donelle), Georgene Kitterman (Roger, Denise, Donetta, Dawn Ann), Claudia Thollaug (Oscar, Tami, Roni, Matthew), Sharon Smith (Lori, Alex), Karen Wright (Charles, Tom, Kris, Chase); 12 great-grandchildren, Rachelle, Justin, Jennifer, Sheldon, Colten Moor, Shane Smith, Brodie and Braelyn Henry, Shanae Jarvis, Jamie and Kaillyn Caunedo and Andrew Thomas Wright; sister, Betty Jo Byrd (Lynn); brothers, Ishmael Christian (Mary) and Duwane Christian (Joey). Billye’s love was always unconditional. She truly had a heart of gold. The memory of her will live in our hearts forever. EVANO, Joseph John Sr., 75, of Tucson, AZ died Wednesday, March 18, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy L.; sons, Joseph Jr. (Kathe) of Tucson, Richard (Deborah) of Tucson; daughter, Claudia Johnson of Mesa, AZ; granddaughters, Meghan and Morghan; grandsons, David A., RJ, Tim, Mackenzie, David J., Kevin, Anthony. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1945 and was a 37 year resident of Tucson, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N.
