HARRISON, Nadine J., 73, of Tucson, died June 17, 1998. Wife of John T. Harrison of Tucson; mother of Brian T. JOHNSON, Richard J. 'Dick' 88, of Tucson, died June 17, 1998. He is survived by son, Kenneth (Ruthanne Penn); grandchildren, Troy Rankin and Michele (Vince) Divacro; and great-grandchildren, Aidan and Kendell Ann Divarco. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ona Johnson. He leaves behind close friends and caregivers, Gary and Gail Thomas; and many friends and poker partners. OAKLEY, Herbert H., 65, a former longtime Poughkeepsie resident, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998. Born February 17, 1933, he was the son of Herbert and Frieda Oakley. Mr. Oakley married the former Emilymae Richardson on August 9, 1958; Mrs. Oakley passed away November 9, 1997. Surviving are three daughters, Karenanne Hutton of Tucson, Sharon Verone of Rio Rancho, NM and Elaine Johnsen of Poughkeepsie; four grandchildren, one aunt and several cousins. ROMERO, Shirley J., 52, of Tucson, passed away June 17, 1998. Survivors include her loving husband, Carlos; children, Tammi (Michael) Bauschka and Denise Romero; three grandchildren, Jesse, Amanda and Kaitlin. Many other loving family and friends also survive. ABEYTA, Edward M., 53, of Tucson, died June 15, 1998. He is survived by his mother, Evyla G. Vigil, Colorado; sisters, Ida and Darlene both of Colorado and Mary Ellen of California; brothers, Miguel and Larry both of Tucson and Alonzo, Jr., Colorado; companion, Margie 'Wera' Riddell. ALTMAN, William E. 'Bill' 74, of Tucson, AZ returned to his Lord on June 19, 1998. He was surrounded by his family at St. Joseph's Hospice. A brief service was held immediately at bedside. At his request no further services are planned. Bill was born in Philadelphia, IL. and moved to Tucson in 1954. He was employed at Hughes Aircraft from 1955-1986. He was an active member of Catalina United Methodist Church, and an avid Wildcat fan. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Pamela Andrew; son-in-law, Jim and grandchildren, Jessica and Eddie of Sierra Vista, AZ. Other survivors include a brother, Robert (Alice) Altman and numerous other relatives in IL. The family wishes to thank all of those friends who supported us with their love and prayers during Bill's courageous battle with cancer. ARTIAGA, Manuel, 92, died June 18, 1998. Husband of Maria for 72 years; father of Gloria J. Artiaga and Mary (George) Camacho; numerous grandchildren survive including Renee Ybarra, Scott M. Leick, Heather Brianna Consuelo Leick; 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren also survive. He was a member of Knights of Columbus for 25 years and an usher at Our Mother of Sorrows Church for 10 years. Donations in Mr. Artiaga's memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 1636 N. Mary Margaret Teresa Haggerty Carter, age 78, of Tucson, passed away June 17, 1998. Daughter of the late William Leo Haggerty and Mary Jane Rooney Haggerty of Prince Edward Island. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Brandegee Carter, Sr. Mary was one of seven children. She is preceded in death by brothers, Philip and John, and sisters, Pat and Katherine. She is survived by her brother, Bill and sister, Joan Carmichael. She is also survived by her sons, William B. Carter, Jr., James Francis Carter, Martin Leithold; daughters, Patricia Herrin (Steve), Mary Applegate (George); grandchildren, Michael Clemmons (Juanita), Joan Greeneltch (Cary), Janine Aguilar (Mark), Linda Major (Dave), George Applegate, Jr. (Rachel), Stacy Girard (Ben), Michael Herrin; great-grandchildren; (her little angels); Chase, Ryan, Cooper, Samantha, Marcus, Chelsea, Evan and Summer. Mary was born in Stratford, Connecticut on October 11, 1919. She grew up and schooled in North Plainfield, New Jersey, where she met her husband, Bill and later moved to Tucson. She retired from Cox Produce and the University of Arizona. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her and if you didn't she would soon see to it that you had a friend. She said, 'Say something good about each person I meet everyday. Give them hope for a bright future.' Her life was not in vain. She loved all. She loved music, a good movie, reading, writing poems, crossword puzzles, scrabble and candy. The family knows that she cared about others and would prefer that donations be given to your favorite charities. The green of Ireland can always be felt in the hearts of her loved ones she leaves behind. She is now in the care of the Lord. We love you 'Nana.' DALE, Maurice 'Mo' born in Onawa, Iowa on March 4, 1925, died June 19, 1998 in Tucson, AZ. Survivors include wife, Ellen; son, John Dale of Phoenix; daughter, Mallory (Joseph) Jackson of Prescott; grandsons, Jon Koshinski of Tucson and Jake Jackson of Prescott; granddaughters, Shilo Koshinski and Amanda Jackson of Prescott; sister, Marie (Victor) Denney of California, Mo; brothers, James (Lorraine) of Salt Lake City, UT, Bernie (Barbara) of Sacramento, CA., C.M. 'Beech' (Phyllis) of Lincoln, Neb., Joe (Sandy) of Coer d'Alene, Id. and Bill of San Diego, CA. He was preceded in death by his son, Kim; parents, Joe and Ione Dale; sisters, Audrey and Barbara and brothers, Cecil, Gerald and Max. Mo served in the Army with the 1896 Engineers Aviation Battalion in the South Pacific during World War II and was recalled to serve during the Korean War – reaching the rank of Major. He attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, Minn. He managed the regional office in Tucson for the Equitable of Iowa Insurance Company in the late 60's and was proprietor of Elmo's Lounge. He was active in the Republican Party. He was also a longstanding member of the Arizona Boxing Commission as a judge and also served in the past as the Boxing Commissioner in the State of Arizona, having been a Golden Gloves boxer in his youth. He was also a member of the Rampopelle Golf League and a charter member of the Golf Society of the U.S.A. He was a lifetime member of Chapter 18 of the Disabled American Veterans. Services, Monday, 10:00 a.m. June 22, 1998 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd. with interment to follow at East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, 9:00 a.m. till service time. KUKASKY, Mary Jane, 79, of Mesa, formerly of Tucson, died June 17, 1998. Preceded in death by husband, John; children, John Jr. (Butch), Paul Allen, Mary Jane and sister, Irene Cutright. Survived by children, Samuel (Roxann) Kukasky, Catherine (Richard) Baker, Loretta Gail (Pete) Sachs and Rebecca (Thomas) Raymond; grandchildren, Valerie Miller, Rebecca Kus, Jason and Kimberlie Baker, Laura and Jonathan Jones, Heather and Tamara Raymond; great-grandchildren, Brenda, Kelly and Heath Miller; Mason Kus; Nicolas, Victoria and Christopher Jones; Hailey and Jacob Raymond; sister, Billie Sobey; brother, Clark Morris. Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Sunday, June 21st at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 E. Yavapai, Tucson. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. MARCH, John H. Born October 7, 1919, a World War Veteran, retired attorney, loving husband, and devoted father, John H. March, departed from this world to be with the Lord on June 12, 1998. Preceding the death of his wife, Elizabeth March; John leaves behind his sons, John S. March, Daniel A. March and Jason A. March, all of Tucson; daughter-in-law Cliftina March and Christine March; sister Rose Granelli of Queens, NY; brothers Anthony Marchitelli and wife Mary of Queens, NY, Joseph Marchitelli of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Hank March and wife Grace of Queens, NY, Michael Marchitelli and his wife Margaret of Queens, NY and several nieces & nephews. Living a full and rewarding life, John will be missed greatly by his family friends and loved ones. Memorial services will be held June 23, 1998, 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd, Tucson, AZ.

George R. Molero, 77, of Tucson, died June 17, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; daughters, Irma Carrillo (Sam) and Velma Roseberry; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a stepdaughter, two stepsons, and two step great-grandchildren. Mr. Molero was a life member of American Legion Post #36, VFW #549, A Sea Bees Island X3, Former Navy Sea Bee and Marine and Past Commander of Legion Post #109. Memorial Services will be on Tuesday, June 23, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at VFW #549, 1884 S. Craycroft. All friends and family are invited. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cancer Research. SHIMMEL, Betty B., 68, of Tucson, went to be with her Lord June 17, 1998. She was born January 9, 1930 im Houtzdale, PA and moved to Tucson in 1969. Survived by husband of 49 years, Morris; children, Dennis (Adela) Shimmel, Jacqueline (Robert) Tibbs, Brian (Nancy) Shimmel; brother, Donald (Pearl) Martin; sisters, Mildred Shaw and Evelyn (Richard) Cartwright; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren. Betty was a member of Faith Assembly of God. Her faith and determination was an inspiration to all who knew her. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 21, 1998 at South Lawn Mortuary, 5401 S. Park from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 22, 1998 at South Lawn Mortuary at 11:00a.m. Betty will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

VIGIL, Anastacio Ned, 59, of Tucson, passed away June 18, 1998. Survived by sisters, Rosemary Mina and Emily Granillo, Patricia Greenwood and friends, too numerous to mention. ZEBAS, Richard A. Sr., 60, of Tucson, died June 17, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Ruby; children, Bernadine, Richard Jr., and Joseph; as well as six grandchildren. HASKINS, Hilde E., 73, died June 19, 1998 in Tucson. Survived by her husband, Ceorce Haskins; one son, Larry (Janet) Haskins; two daughters, Christine Haskins and Carolyn (Kevin) Boyer; four sisters, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial Services will be Monday, June 22, 1998 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Philip's In The Hills Episcopal Church, 4440 N. Campbell. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway.

James E. Miller, 74, died June 19, 1998 after a short struggle with cancer, he went to be with his maker. He is survived by his wife, Millie of 25 years; daughters, Laurie, Jeannie and Lisa; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also his extended family of one son and two daughters, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II, he was employed by Monsanto Chemical Company of St. Louis, MO for 27 years and retired in 1985 and then moved to Tucson. Many people were drawn to him because of the rich qualities he possessed, his interest and knowledge of the southwest. Friends may call from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.Monday, June 22, 1998 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Road. Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 1998 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

SACKETT, Harriet Jeanette Query, born in Vinton, Iowa, October 3, 1913, and passed away after a short illness on June 20, 1998. She was preceded in death by George Query and Ned Sackett. Survived by her daughter, Judy Query Miller of Tucson, AZ; sister, Joan Wise of Falls Church, VA; grandson, Mark Jeffrey Miller and spouse, Catharine of Washington, DC; granddaughter, Jennifer Miller, New York, NY; great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Query Miller and nieces and nephews. Jeanette moved to Tucson in 1947 from Ashland, OH. She was an accountant in several automotive agencies for over 30 years. A member of the American Society of Women Accountants, charter member of the Alzheimer's Association, member and treasurer for many years with the United Methodist Women's and Circle 1-Count your Blessings Group at the First United Methodist Church. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway). from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 1998. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME. Patricia (Tang) Crowley, 54, died June 19, 1998. She leaves behind her husband Paul; daughter, Casey; and son, Brian; her parents, David and Esther Tang; sister, Cherry Simoes and husband, Manny; brother, David Tang and wife, Donna; and sister, Liz Tang; nephews, Shane, Wing, Darren and Andre and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Patti, granddaughter of Tucson pioneer Don Wah, was born in Tucson November 23, 1943. She graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul School and Salpointe Catholic High School. She attended the University of Arizona and graduated from the New York's Tobe-Coburn School of Fashion Design. After a successful career in New York, Patti returned to Tucson and focused her multiple skills and talents toward teaching children at Pio Decimo Center and later at Kino School, where she most recently worked her magic as a teacher, introducing children and parents to the joys of art, calligraphy and gourmet cooking. She always took time to expand a child's imagination and turn a sad face into a beaming one. Patti, in spite of severe arthritis, devoted her life to her family and much of her free time volunteering for programs in the community that she believed in. She served on the boards of UA Presents, UA Cultural Advisory Board, Angel Charity of Tucson, Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation; was a member of the Newman Center Sustaining Board, the Junior League of Tucson, the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Capital Campaign, Tucson Tomorrow Arts Committee, and the P.E.A.C.E. Club. Forher outstanding humanitarian service she received the 1997 Salpointe Alumni Service Award. Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Church Thursday, June 25, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Kino School, 6125 N. 1st Ave; or Salpointe Educational Fund, 1545 E. Copper St., or the Arthritis Foundation of Southern Arizona, 6464 E. Grant Rd. Funeral arrangements by Family owned ADAIR FUNERAL HOME.

DAWLEY, Kathryn Lee (Ginster), age 42, passed away suddenly Saturday, June 20, 1998. She was married to Frank Dawley May 12, 1990 in Tucson. Other survivors include her mother, Mary Jane Ginster; father, Robert Ginster; sister, Kris Miller and brother, Jeff Ginster; aunt, Gloria Kuhrall of Phoenix and by extended family and many friends. Kathryn graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1978, and served for 20 years with the US Postal Service. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 1998 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway). The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Planned Parenthood of Southern Arizona, 127 S. 5th Ave., 85701 or to the charity of one's choice.
