In loving memory, we say good-bye to a very special little boy; who not only touched the heart of everyone he met, but also brought out the best in them, as well. Ryan could touch places you can only feel!
He is survived by his parents Wanda & Peter Fry; brother Patrick; and sister Megan. Great Grandmother Annie Ashley; grandparents, John & Sharie Fry, and Sid Borden. Aunts, uncles, and cousins Quinn; Nancy and David, Heather, Melissa Olds; Brenda and John, Erin Chandler; David and Ellen, Jedediah, Elijah McGill.
He well be forever remembered by his schoolmates and teachers at Donaldson Elementary, his therapists and providers throughout Arizona.
His Light will guide us all!
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 10, 1998 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME AVALON CHAPEL, 8090 N. Northern Ave at Magee with Pastor Dan Valasakos officiating. Private family burial at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the 'Ryan Fry Memorial Fund'.

Everett Dean Halbert, born October 1, 1952 in Blackfoot, Idaho and passed away Saturday, November 7, 1998 after a long battle with cancer. Everett is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Steven, Roy and Patrick; three grandsons and one granddaughter; brothers, Clifford and Donald; sisters, Arlene, Dorothy, Rose and twin sister Helen. Funeral services, 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 1998 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Avenue with visitation for family and friends 2 hours prior to service. Burial to follow in South Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY.

KREPS, Alfred William, 78, died November 7, 1998. Father of Linda LaRue of Tucson, Anne Bradeen of Sacramento, CA. and Charles Kreps of Port Hueneme, CA; brother of Russell and Weldon Kreps. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. He was a member of Aurora Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons and retired from U.S. Air Force after 33 years as a Master Sergeant. Memorial Service 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 11, 1998 at Voyager RV Park, 8701 S. Kolb. Burial will be in Denver, Colorado. Donations in Alfred's memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 1636 N. Swan Rd. T/A 85712. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

MONTELEONE, Rosaria M., age 75 of Tucson, AZ, died November 7, 1998. Survived by son, Gary Monteleone (Lori); daughter, Josephine Olsson (Jerry); grandchildren, Vinny and Corinne Monteleone, Kirsten Collier, Jerry Olsson Jr. and Tara McGee; great-grandchildren, Joey and Tyler, all of Tucson, AZ. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 1998 at Holy Hope Mausoleum, 3555 N. Oracle Rd. with Rev. Dan Valasakos officiating. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES AVALON CHAPEL, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee.

MORAN, Alfonso, 82, passed away November 5, 1998. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lupe; and son, Carlos; brothers, Carlos, Francisco, Luis, Enrique and Jose; also his parents, Francisco and Ana Maria Moran. Survived by daughters, Patricia (Robert) Benton, Georgina (Manuel) Diaz and Margaret (Richard) Vidaurri; brother Jorge of Mexico City; sister, Sister Bernadette of Tucson; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; numerous nephews and nieces. A longtime Tucson resident, he graduated from St. Augustine Catholic School and attended St. Joseph's College in Mountain View, California. He became a sheet metal worker and foreman. He worked for several Arizona companies, starting with Tidmarsh Engineering. He was a long and loyal member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, Local Union 359. Projects he worked on included Titan Missile sites, Kitt Peak Observatory, Marana High School and St. Mary's Hospital. He will be remembered for his love of music, especially opera. His love of reading and gardening and his special garden sculptures. His family will forever cherish him for the undying love and support he gave so generously. He was a patient, and understanding, wise and peaceful man who will be greatly missed. Friends may call Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, 204S. Stone Avenue, where a rosary will be offered at 7:00 p.m. in the South Chapel. Mass will be said at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone. Burial will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.

PERRY, Laura L., 51, died in Tucson on November 4, 1998, after a long fight with cancer. She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Pat Patterson. Laura is survived by her son, Troy Perry; daughter-in-law Tina; four grandchildren; and fiance, David Koss; sisters, Cheri Osborne and Jadine Takeuchi; brother, Sincerity Israel; and five stepbrothers. Laura was an Allstate Agent for 16 years. We will miss this wonderful, kind and gentle lady. God, has found a space for her in his garden. A memorial service will be held on November 12, 1998 at 3:00 p.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, Tucson. Contributions in Laura's name can be made to the American Cancer Society.

SCARAFIOTTI, Flora J., 89, of Tucson, passed away on November 4, 1998. She was born April 5, 1909 in Alderson, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guido Scarafiotti; daughter, Norma and son, Clarence. She is survived by brother, Joseph Tasso; granddaughter, Loretta Piatt and several nieces and nephew and sister-in-law. There will be no memorial services. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd.

TRUMAN, William Stanley, 85, of Tucson, died Wednesday, November 4, 1998. Survived by wife, Bertha; sons, Tom S. (Cheryl), James W. (Lynn); daughter, Susan (Richard) Twomey; grandchildren, Michael Twomey, Marc and Douglas and Kelly Truman; Cynthia Baucom; great-grandchildren, Kori and Kyra Baucom. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Showalter. Mr. Truman retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Aerospace Div. after 36 years and was a member of Knights of Columbus, San Martin De Porres. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 1998 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, an Aftercare Provider. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 13423, Tucson, AZ 85732.

William A. Altenhoff, M.D., 85, formerly from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, died November 8, 1998. Preceded in death by his wife, Venetta Altenhoff in 1989. Survived by his daughter, Nancy (Jay) Nunamaker of Tucson and their children, Mark (Monique) Nunamaker of Irvine, California, Jill Nunamaker of Phoenix and Liza Nunamaker of Tucson.

Dr. Altenhoff retired to Tucson in 1978 and was active in the St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church. Dr. William A. Altenhoff graduated from the University of Buffalo Medical School at the age of 20. He was a practicing physician and surgeon for 45 years in New York and Pittsburgh. Dr. Altenhoff served as an officer in the U.S. Air force and as a flight surgeon during World War II. He was elected as a Fellow to the American College of Surgeons in 1955. He was an adjunct lecturer of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Board of Trustees of North Hills Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh for his outstanding and unselfish service to the hospital as president of the professional staff from 1970-1972. In addition, Dr. Altenhoff was affiliated with Bellvue Suburban Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital. He particularly enjoyed working with his hands in his professional as well as his retirement life. He rebuilt antique cars and clocks and had an intense curiosity for how things worked.

Private services will be at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Burial will be in Pittsburgh. Donations suggested to your favorite charity. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway, 881-0338.

APPLEYARD, John R., 63, passed away Saturday, November 7, 1998 at his home in Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his niece, Christine. John is survived by his wife, Joan Cloutier Appleyard; daughter, Patricia Appleyard; sister, Grace Carroll; nephews, Kenneth and Michael Hess; stepson, Keith Brooks; three grandchildren and many loving and close friends. John was a graduate of Tucson High and was retired from the U.S. Naval Reserves, operating Engineers 428 and Pima County Waste Water. A Candlelight Service will be held Tuesday, November 10, 1998 at 6:00 p.m. at East Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 5801 E. Grant Rd. with Rev. Jean Lopez officiating. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY.

EVERSZ, Thelma R., 76, known and loved by family and friends as 'Tally', died November 7, 1998. Survived by her husband, William M. 'Bill' Eversz; daughter, Sandra E. Erba; son, Robert McLeod Eversz; grandchildren, Donna Malone, Greg, Tom and Stephanie Erba; great-grandsons, Marcus and Wes Erba; sister, Billie Morgan; sister-in-law, Gail Narkevic; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tally was a school nurse for the TUSD and a resident of Tucson for the past 24 years. Tally and Bill recently celebrated their 54th Anniversary. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 1998 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6565 E. Broadway, Pastor Steve Melde officiating. Private Inurnment will be at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church Building Fund or Tucson Shalom House.

GIFFORD, Mark A., 44, of Marana, passed away November 9, 1998. Survived by mother, Blanche Gifford; son, Aaron Gifford; sister, Christina Davis; brothers, Normand and Thomas Gifford. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

JAXEL, Estelle Faltot, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away November 5, 1998 at the age of 90. Preceded in death by husband, August Jaxel and daughter, Janet Marie Jaxel. Survived by sons, August R. Jaxel, Peter F. Jaxel and Robert A. (Louise) Jaxel; grandchildren, Brett and Renee Jaxel and their mother, Barbara Jaxel and Robert and Ashley Jaxel. Estelle was born April 13, 1908 in Union City, New Jersey. A Tucson resident since 1953, she worked in Civil Service at DMAFB for 33 years, retiring in 1988 at the age of 80. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 1998 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Christ Church United Methodist Church, 655 N. Craycroft.

LINARD Jr., Morton E. 'Buck' 74, of Tucson, died November 8, 1998. Husband of Marguerite A.; father of Diane (Thomas) Evans and Sandra (Jerry) Glaser all of Tucson; brother of June (Rick) and Shirley Piggott of Chicago, Illinois; two grandsons, Christopher, Evans and Daniel Glaser; one granddaughter, Laura Glaser. PIET, Agnes W., 84, of Tucson, died November 8, 1998. Born February 26, 1914 in Lanyon, Iowa. Survived by three sons, John Piet of Tucson, Michael Piet of Colorado Springs, CO, David Piet of Kansas City, MO; daughter, JoAn Quam of Phoenix; brother, Glenn Reedholm of Burkburnett, TX; sister, Vivian Nelson of Nevada, IA; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Preceded in death by husband, John F. Piet and brother, Dr. Edwin Reedholm. Mass of Resurrection will be offered Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, 4725 E. Pima. PORRAS, Rudolfo Y., SSgt, USAF, Ret., 60, of Tucson, died Thursday, November 5, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Conchita; children, Debbie Zermeno of CA, Priscilla Espinoza of CA, Rudolfo (Brandie) Porras, Jr. of TX, Johnny (Deanna) Lopez of Tucson, Michael (Renee) of Tucson, Frances Kay Porras of TX; brother, Albert (Lupe) Porras of CA and 22 grandchildren. Rudolfo happily devoted 20 years of his life to his country, retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1977. Funeral Services will be 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Davis-Monthan AFB Chapel #1. Interment will follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd.

SEITZ, Frances L., 85, of Tucson, died November 6, 1998. Born December 26, 1912 in Freeport, PA to Fredrick and Emma Seitz. She taught school in the Willoughby, OH area for many years and was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. Frances will be remembered by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Service, Thursday, 2:30 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY, with Dr. Andrew G. Ross officiating. Interment to follow Evergreen Cemetery.
