Mr. See was retired from Hughes Aircraft and a member of The Free and Accepted Masons, Aaron Lodge #49. Mr. See had requested that no services be held. Arrangements by Hudgel's Swan Funeral Home.

SEE, A. Thomas, 55, passed away December 22, 1998 after a valiant battle with cancer. Survived by brother, Donald (Mary) See of Tucson; Aunt Florence and Uncle Herbert Albrecht of Naples, Florida. Tom served in the U.S. Army and was an avid Sprint Car racing fan. Private burial at Desert Vista Cemetery. Arrangements by Hudgel's Swan Funeral Home.

Lois G. Sheffield, 71, died December 19, 1998. She is survived by husband, Charles Sheffield; daughters, Sheri (Richard) Hulme, Bobbi Williams, Debbie (Roland) Thompson and Cindy Gesbeck; son, Charles G. (Rosemary) Sheffield; nine grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Ward Ansley; and sister, Marie Jackson. Lovingly and fondly remembered by family and friends. Lois was a Real Estate Broker associated with Realty Executives of Tucson for 20 years. GIBBONS, Dorothy F., age 76, of Tucson, passed away December 23, 1998. HUTCHINGS, Steven, died on October 30, 1998. Beloved son of Dolly Phifer Hutchings Rolle; brother of Gregory C. Hutchings, Lynn M. Ryder, Jacqueline R. Askew, Valerie L. Stanley, Terry L. Lee and Irving H. Hutchings, Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Monday, December 28th, 7:00 p.m., Catalina Baptist Church, 1900 N. Country Club.

FRANK M. LOCKRIDGE, born 12/04/11 in Montgomery County, KY, died 12/21/98 in Tucson, AZ. He attended the University of Kentucky where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi (honorary engineering fraternity) and graduated 'with distinction' in 1935 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During WWII he served one year in New Guinea and was returned to the US and assigned to NASA (forerunner of NASA) at Langley Field, VA where he was part of a team working on the development of the first supersonic wind tunnel in the US. In 1946 he returned to Kentucky and organized a construction company and was General Contractor on commercial and residential building in the community. The family moved to Tucson in 1961 where he semi-retired and pursued interests in machining, woodworking and jewelry making. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Courtney; sons, George M. (Susan) of Tucson, Thomas B. of Tampa, FL; daughter, Katherine of Tucson; numerous nieces and nephews, and loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express appreciation to Hospice Family Care for their assistance, support and special care. No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, The Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of choice.

NEVILLE, Phyllis (Frisque), 81, Tucson resident, formerly of Green Bay, WI, died Tuesday evening, December 22, 1998 in a Green Bay nursing home. Friends may call at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 North Baird Street, Green Bay, WI 54302 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Monday visitation will continue at the funeral home prior to the funeral in church. Funeral, Monday, 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, Green Bay, WI. PUERTA, Jesus Daniels, born December 6, 1916 in Bisbee, Arizona, died shortly after midnight December 22, 1998, following a brief illness, at the Tucson VA Hospital. Jesus is survived in death by his wife of forty years, Anita Valencia Puerta; his daughter Margie V. Puerta Edson and her husband Fred M. Edson, of Tucson; his daughter Rosemarie Puerta Curnutt and her husband Jordan Curnutt of St. Cloud, MN; his stepdaughter Annie Marie Tabor and grandchildren, Mark and Joanna Tabor and Eric Stack, all of Sierra Vista; his sister Margaret Eisenhouer and her husband Ernest of Mesa, and many relations throughout Arizona. Jesus was the third of six children born to Gertudes and Jesus Puerta. He served his country during WWII with the 1281st Engineer Battalion in Europe and Africa from 1940-1946. He married Anita in 1959. He was employed by the City of Tempe from 1958 until retirement in 1980. Jesus will be remembered for his strong faith that helped him survive the difficulties of life, his devotion to his daughters, his warmth and good nature. Graveside military services and burial will be held at the National Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ on Monday, December 28, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. A reception for family and friends will be held directly following services. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

BROWN, Charles Earl, was born February 12, 1927 in Moorehead, KY and passed away December 23, 1998 at Life Care Center in Tucson. He is survived by his wife, Dolly Brown; daughter, Anita Jacobs; son, Robert Brown; and four grandchildren all of Tucson; he is also survived by two brothers and a sister. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, five brothers and a sister. Charles served in the US Army from 1945 to 1947 and is a member of V.F.W. #549 in Tucson. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, an aftercare provider, 5801 E. Grant Rd., where funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, Rev. Clayton Gooden officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Palms Cemetery with military honors by V.F.W. #549.

Manuel Hernandez, 60, of Tucson, passed away December 22, 1998. Survived by wife, Ofelia Hernandez; parents, Lucinda and Raquel Ortiz. Survived by daughters, Lupe Hernandez, Irma Alvarez; stepdaughters, Sara Norzagaray (Mario Hermosillo), Jeannie (Steve) Acuna, Caroline (Juan) Yanez, Terry (Ralph) Reyna, Esperanza (Javier) Lendo and Maria (Thomas) Rodd; sons, Manuel, Jr., Mario and Ralph; stepsons, David and Robert Norzagaray. Also survived by brother, Johnny Hernandez; 10 grandchildren, 29 step grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild. Visitation will beheld on Sunday, December 27, 1998, 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, North Chapel, 204 S. Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday, 9:00 a.m., Santa Cruz Church. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. O'CONNELL, Donald A., of Tucson, passed away December 23, 1998. He is survived by many loving friends and will be greatly missed. Friends may call on Monday, December 28, 1998 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. VOGEL, Margaret Elizabeth, 83, of Tucson, passed away December 23, 1998. Survivors include her children, Albert L. (Linda) Vogel of Page, AZ, Margaret Ann Vogel of Mesa, Dorothy Vogel of Tucson, Edna Doty of Phoenix, Lesley Brady of Tucson, Steven (Tiffany) Vogel of Edgewood, NM; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Herbert (Alice) Stevenson, Arthur (Cindy) Stevenson; sisters, Alice Hessler of Tubac and Deedee Raymond of VA. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Albert. At her request, there will be no services. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. BEACH, Arthur J. II, 46 years old, died December 25, 1998 in Tucson. Mr. Beach II was born January 24, 1952 in Montgomery, Alabama. Survived by wife, Teresita D. Beach; two daughters, Teresita Beach and Elizabeth A. Beach; mother, Trudie B. Beach; one sister, Cynthia Bronson. Funeral services will be Tuesday December 29, 1998 at 9:00 a.m. at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL. Burial will be at the Veterans National Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. BEAL, C. Gordon, 80, died December 7, 1998 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital in Deming, N.M. He was born December 3, 1918 in Lawrence, Massachusetts and attended school in Lawrence and Methuen, Massachusetts. He joined the Navy in 1934 and later retired as Commissioned Warrant Officer in 1959. He was a longtime resident of Tucson from 1961 to 1998 where he owned and managed Tucson Beauty Supply until his retirement in 1994. He was a charter member of Sabbar Shrine and had been an active member of the Old Pueblo Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife, Jane; a son, Don and his wife, Rayma; a granddaughter, Kristin Beal all of Lexington, Kentucky; a daughter, Sherry and her husband, Frank Knoop of Deming, N.M.; grandchildren, Anne and her husband, Cass Keeler and four great-grandchildren all of Deming, K. C. Knoop of Coast Guard, Fort Hood, CA, Buffie Meeker of Phoenix, AZ, Travis Knoop of LDS Mission Santiago, Chile; a brother, Robert E. Beal of Salem, N.H.
A Memorial Service will be Tuesday, December 29, 1998 at 2:30 p.m. at Davis-Monthan Air force Base Chapel #1. A reception will follow at the Officers Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, Humane Society or to the charity of your choice. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapel.

BRITT, Mittie Ann, 85 of Tucson went to be with her Lord Thursday, December 24, 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter. Mittie is survived by several family members and friends. She was a long time member of Prince Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. BUSTAMANTE, Evan N., 89 of Bisbee. Our beloved father and grandfather went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 26, 1998. Survived by daughters, Martha Tisnado of Bisbee, Beatriz Betancourt of Morenci, Lorenza (Gilbert) Espinoza and Margaret (Tommy) Bettini, both of Tucson; sons, Gilbert (Annie) Navarrette of Superior, Evan (Connie) Bustamante, Jr. of Thatcher, David and Raul Bustamante of Bisbee; brothers, Joe Bustamante of Flagstaff, Salomon Bustamante of Hurley, NM; companion, Maria Cruz Arrieta and her daughters, Lenor Lewis of Safford, Susie (Bob) Driver of Phoenix; her sons, George (Velia) Arrieta of Sierra Vista, Richard (Mary Lou) Johnson of Thatcher; 40 grandchildren, many, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Wife, Maria Bustamante in 1975. We will miss you dearly Dad and Grandpa, but one day soon we will meet again in heaven. Meanwhile, rest in peace. We love you. Steven D. Byers, 45, of Tucson, passed away on December 23, 1998. Steve is survived by his wife Susan; parents, James and Darlene Byers of Berkely, California; his children, Alexandra E. and James S. Byers; his sisters, Karen Mays and Judy Salvestrin also survive. Steve was a 1977 graduate of the U of A and All American and All Western Athletic Conference Platform Diver. Steve was an artist, a loving husband, son, father, brother and friend. Steve's zest for life will be missed but his legacy will live in all of us. Steve never met a person who did not love him. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and creative genius. He loved life, people, football bets with his dad, and his mother's cooking! A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 1998 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd. at 12:00 noon.

HARTMAN, Joan Y., 71 of Saddle Brooke, died Friday, December 25, 1998. She is survived by husband Raymond; daughter, Mary; sons, Michael (Margaret) and Samuel (Melanie); grandchildren, Anna, Tyler, John, Samantha and James; sister, Carol; and 19 nieces and nephews. Joan was a member of Saddle Brooke Women's Bridge Club and Women's Golf Association. She was a Chestnut Hill College Alumnae Association member and was active in Santa Catalina Mission.
