McDONAGH, Maria, 28, died December30, 1998. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

NELDA HELEN McDANIEL - Loving Sister, Wife, Mother and Grandmother went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, the 30th of December 1998. Nel, as she was known by her many friends, was the daughter of the late Senator Nick N. Nelson and Helen Viola Nelson of Grand Forks, North Dakota and graduated from Rincon High School in 1960. She is preceded in death by her sisters, May and June and is survived by her sister, Serita Grubaugh (George); her husband, Dick McDaniel; her daughter, Pamela Nickum (Matthew); her son, Thomas McDaniel (Jody) and her grandsons, Garrett Nickum and Clayton McDaniel. Nel was a tireless worker for her church and was a member of the Sewing Circle for more than 20 years making clothes for distribution to needy children. We miss her terribly but rejoice that she now has no pain and is with God her savior. There will be a visitation Monday, January 4, 1999 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, (Avalon Chapel), 8090 N. Northern Ave. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 1999 at 3:00 p.m. at Dove of Peace Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Clutz. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Dove of Peace Lutheran Church, 665 West Roller Coaster Road, Tucson, Arizona 85704, in memory of Nel. She will be missed.

DORA URREA ORDUNO - Born in Oracle, Arizona on October 27, 1933, went home with our Lord on December 29, 1998. Preceded in death by parents, Jose M. and Carmen T. Urrea; brother, Tony Urrea. She is survived by her husband of45 years, Peter Orduno; children, Mario (Vickie) Orduno, Dorothy (Bruce) McArthur, Susan Romero, Barbra (Oscar) Lujan, and Monica Vargas; brothers, John (Martha), Joe, and Jose Ricardo (Flora) Urrea; sisters, Sally Nelson, Hortencia (David) Valenzuela, Irene (Henry) Corral, Clara Ochoa, Ramona (Roman) Delgado, Esperanza (Bob) Herreras, and Beatrice (Mal) Ortiz. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was a faithful employee of St. Mary's Hospital for 35 years. She will be greatly missed by all her family and her love will always remain in our hearts. Visitation will be on Monday, January 4, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, South Chapel, 240 S. Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Tuesday, January 5, 1999, 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Deborah Maurer Palmer, 45, of Tucson, died on December 16, 1998 following a lengthy illness. She was wife of Ricky D. Palmer of Tucson. As newlyweds the couple arrived in Tucson from Pennsylvania in 1972 and made Arizona there home. They would have been married 27 years on December 26. She was the daughter of Edward G. Maurer of Ephrata, PA and Phyllis McMonigal of Lancaster, PA. Debbie, as she preferred to be called, worked in Secretarial and Clerical positions with the City of Tucson Council and Clerks offices from 1974 until 1985. She remained active in politics until the progression of her illness made it no longer possible. She always had a great love for people, animals and nature and the lives she touched are beyond numeration. If there never was a heaven there is now; if ever there was a heaven she is at a higher place. Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are a stepfather, Robert McMonigal, Lancaster, PA; a stepmother, Shirley Maurer, Ephrata, PA; a brother, Thomas, Ephrata; a sister, Barbra Martin, Downingtown, PA; half-brother, Robert McMonigal, Jr., USN, Jacksonville, Fla; and a maternal grandmother, Bernedette Flawd, Lancaster. A private memorial service was held by the family in Lancaster, PA on December 21.

PROSSER, LOIS E., born August 16, 1921 in Herminie, PA, died December 29 at her home after a prolonged illness. She was a retired Faculty Member from the University of Arizona College of Nursing in charge of under graduate and graduate programs in Community Health. She received her nursing education at Pennsylvania General Hospital in Philadelphia, completed her B.S.N. at the University of Pennsylvania and her M.S.N. in Boston, Mass. Lois was active in many community services. She served as President of Mobile Meals of Tucson, served on the Pima County Board of Health, the Catholic Community Services Board, the Tucson Trade Bureau, the Health Systems Agency of southeast Arizona, a member of the Governor's Commission on Arizona Environment, a former member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, received recognition as a member of the Fabulous Fifty of Tucson in Nursing and was a very active golfer and member of the Rolling Hills Golf Association. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gerry and Jim Blakeslee of Phoenix, AZ. At her request, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the University of Arizona Foundation for the College of Nursing, Lois Prosser Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 210203, Tucson, AZ 85721 or Mobile Meals of Tucson, Inc. 3003 S. Country Club, Tucson, AZ 85713. Arrangements by the family owned ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES Dodge Chapel.

DR. LARRY YASMER, a gentle and caring person died suddenly on December 31, 1998 at the age of 52. A 50 year resident of Tucson, Dr. Yasmer practiced general dentistry for the past 26 years. Dr. Yasmer was an avid golfer, sportsman and was an Arizona Wildcat fan when they were winning or losing. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ellen, and was an incredible father to daughter, Emily and son, K.C. He is also survived by his sister, Hillary Yasmer Shemin of Scottsdale. He will be deeply missed by his family, staff, patients and loving friends, who were an important part of his life. Memorial Service will be held at Temple Emanu-El, 225 N. Country Club on Sunday, January 3, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY. BEEBE, John H., 82, died January 1, 1998. Survived by his wife, Dollie Mae; son, John R. (Kathe) Beebe; daughters, Winona Kay Beebe, Nancy Joan (Dani) Harwood and Mary Beth (Ray) Kolarik; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, Ruth Harlow. John was a minister with The Church of Christ for over 50 years, he preached in several states before moving to Tucson in 1967. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 5, 1999 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. an aftercare provider. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the John Beebe Memorial Library, which will be built in the memory of a man that acquired many book's over the years, c/o Mountain View Church of Christ (Att: John E. Caldwell, P.O. Box 90569, Tucson, AZ 85752-0569); or The American Heart or The American Diabetes Association.

BRACAMONTE, Adeline Hall, Beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, retired from the Pima County Duplicating Department. Survived by sons, Manuel, and Edward (Mary) Bracamonte; brothers, William, and Samuel (Carmen) Hall; sister, Lupe (Gene) Martinez; grandchildren, Marie, Renee, Raymond, Cisco, Peter, Phillip; and great-grandchild, Dominique; and also survived by 20 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 1999 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (SOUTH CHAPEL), 240 S. EGAN-NOONAN, Margaret (Peg), passed away in Green Bay, WI on Christmas Day, December 25, 1998. The funeral and burial will be held on Tuesday, January 5 in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. A Memorial Mass will be said in Tucson at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12 at St. Thomas the Apostle Chapel, 5150 North Valley View Road, with the Rev. Joel Garner, O. Praem. as celebrant. A reception will be held at Ms. Noonan's home on Cerrada Moreno following the service.

ELIOPOULOS, Frank N., 89 of Tucson, died January 1, 1999. Born in Logga Messina, Greece, the second child of three. Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Helen and sister Jenny Bageris. Survived by children, Angie Willis, Nick (Effie) Eliopoulos; sister, Kiki Papayanis; grandchildren, Helen (Phil) Pedigo, Frank (Tina) Eliopoulos, Helen Eliopoulos; great-grandchildren, Dianna, Kristina, Patti, Nikki and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1145 E. Ft. Lowell Rd. Friends may call at the church Monday 6:00 p.m. Trisageon Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Demetrios Philoptochos. Burial was in Chicago, IL. GERDENICS, Joseph J., 89 of Tucson, passed away on December 31, 1998. He is survived by his wife Mary and two sons, Joe Jr. (Lenoir) and Roger (Mary). His sister, Mary Mehringer; as well as two grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Friends may call on Monday, January 4, 1999 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday January 5, 1999 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 601 E.Ft. Lowell Road at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Gerdenics and her family want to give special thanks to Vista Care Hospice for their care, support and love. HUNTER, Mary Alice, November 19, 1907 to December 27, 1998. Loving mother and friend, she is survived by daughter, Maxine Ray; grandchildren, Marie, Brenda, Debra, Mary and Terry; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. JONES, Roscoe F., 62, died January 1, 1999. He is survived by wife, Peggy A. Jones; sons, Floyd and Darrien Jones; daughter, Kandi Jones; grandson, Floyd Jones, Jr.; brother, Herman Jones; sisters, Delores and Jewel Jones, and Nettie Stewart. Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 4, 1999 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, an aftercare provider, 5801 East Grant Road, where Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 1999, followed by interment at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

LEVY, Joseph H., a fifty three year resident of Tucson, died peacefully January 1, 1999. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. until he moved to Tucson in 1946. He started Highland Sales Electric Co. which he operated until his retirement in 1979. Mr. Levy is survived by his wife, Rose J. Levy; daughters, Ruth Jean Solot and Deborah Daly, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. During his years in Tucson he was active in Families For International Friendship. He served as Treasurer of Arizona Friends of Music for several years and also as president. He was a member of Temple Emanuel. After his retirement he became a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, University Hospital where he supplied magazines for the waiting room and at the Pima County Courthouse where he helped visitors with information and directions. He and his wife established a scholarship for nursing students at the University of Arizona Medical School. A private family memorial service will be held later this month. Contributions may be made to Community Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, or Catalina Chamber Orchestra. Arrangements by family owned ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES.

MATTHEWS, Hedwig Julianne, died January 1, 1999. She is survived by sons, Ralph (Valerie) & Raymond (Teresa) Matthews. Grandchildren, Meighan, Corey, Jeremiah, Ralph, Tristan and Claire; sister, Catherine Tampas; brother, Willi Schoenegger and a life long friend, Louise Hughes. Private family services were held. NABER, Virginia G., 80 of Tucson passed away on January 2, 1999. She is survived by her husband George and her children, Nancy (Joseph) and James (Janie) of Tucson. REEVES, Carl Ransom, 83 of Tucson, died January 1, 1999. Born April 17, 1915 in Porterfield, CA. He was a member of VFW Post #5990, Marana, and a US Army WWII veteran. Survived by daughters, Marilyn L. Reeves of Marana, Vivian Carol Jewell of Gladstone, OR; sisters, Ruby Baker of Haworth, OK, Annabelle Boehm of Houston, TX; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. SPALDING, Coit J., 73. Resident of Bannockburn, Ill. Winter resident of Tucson, AZ for many years. Born on July 8, 1925 in Highland Park, Il. passed away December 31, 1998 in Tucson, AZ. Husband of the late Joan Spalding. Survived by daughter, Linda (John) Roe of Bannockburn, Ill.; two sons, Dean (Kim) Spalding of Deerfield, Ill. and James (Karen) Spalding of Deerfield, Ill; eight grandchildren. Member of the Vantana Country Club in Tucson, AZ. Owner of Kelley and Spalding Funeral Home in Highland Park, Ill. Was a WWII Marine Corp Veteran. Visitation Monday 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. January 4, 1999 at Kelley and Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, Ill. where Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 5. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lake Forest, Ill. Memorials may be made to the Holy Cross School, 720 Elder Lane, Deerfield, Ill. 60015.

VAN NORMAN, Richard Wayne, 75, died January 01, 1999. Mr. Van Norman is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dolores Van Norman and brothers, Arlan D. 'Jack' Van Norman of Swea City, Iowa and Jerry P. Van Norman of Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Van Norman Selzer of Spencer, Iowa. He grew up in rural Northwest Iowa and graduated from Dickens, Iowa High School and the University of Northern Iowa. He received his PHD from the University of Minnesota. He taught in the Ayrshire, Iowa High School for two years and then worked as an electrician for the U.S. Navy in WWII. After completing his education, he took his first college teaching position at Penn State University, in State College, PA. He later taught Biology at the University of Utah for 32 years. During that time, with a leave of absence, he worked at the National Science Foundation in Washington, D.C. for one year, then the Agency for International Development sent him to India for two summers to aid in the Improvement of Biology Education there. After moving to Tucson, he volunteered with the Pima Council on Aging as a Long-Term Care Advocate at both Desert Gardens and Manor Care, because he was a long time member of the Living With Cancer Group at Arizona Cancer Center. Donations in Richard's memory may be made to the Arizona Cancer Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave. T/A 85724. A Memorial Service will be held at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway at a later date.

EVA S. WAGNER, 82, of Tucson, passed away January 1, 1999. Preceded in death by husband, Robert L. Wagner; daughter, Evangelina; and by parents, Frank & Rosalia Sawyer; daughter, Rosalie (Fernando) Perez; sons, Aurelio (Lynn) Reyes, Rudy Wagner. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
Eva retired in 1978 from Woolworth's Company where she was the fountain manager. Eva will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend who enjoyed her children and life. Her greatest love was for her children and the wonderful memories of life with her husband and parents. She was greatly admired and loved by all for her smile, laughter, warmth, caring and sense of humor. She touched many lives in ways that can never by measured. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 1999 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (NORTH CHAPEL), 204 S. Stone Ave. with rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Wednesday, January 6, 1999 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
