BLOXHAM, James Andrew, 17 years old, died Sunday, January 17, 1999 in Tucson. Born on January 19, 1981 in Tucson, Arizona. Survived by his parents, Dan and Barbara Bloxham of Tucson; two brothers, Steven and Chris Bloxham of Tucson; paternal grandmother, Lelia Bloxham; maternal grandmother, Evertye Dittman; aunts, uncles, special friends, Sylvia, Jennifer, Crystal, Brandon. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 1999 at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway, with burial to follow at Desert Vista Cemetery, Tucson, AZ. BRUCE, Stanley E., 81, a retired businessman, died January 19, 1999. Preceded in death by wife, Hazel Lee Bruce. Survived by son, David; grandson, Jordan. Private services were held. CUPISS, Claude H. 'Bud' 92, of Tucson, passed away January 18, 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Fannie Laura, this past September. He is survived by children, Claude (Marie)and Mary Jane Wides; grandchildren, Gail Williams, Michel Lynne, Sam Wides, Laura Jo Cantrell, Claudia Kay Mohler; six great-grandchildren. Bud wanted us to celebrate his life and not mourn his death. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bud's memory may be made to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Tucson, 160 E. Alameda, Tucson 85701. CURRY, Robert 'Bob' Thomas, age 44, died Sunday, January 17, 1999. Bob is survived by his wife, Debra Jean of Tucson; one son, John Patrick Curry of Tucson; two brothers, Joseph Curry of Chicago, IL and Edward Curry of Georgetown, TX; two sisters, Caryl Hoelscher of Dayton, OH and Kathy Weir of Tucson, and is also survived by his mother, Florence Curry of Chicago, IL. Mr. Curry was preceded in death by his daughter, Katharine Anne, who died in 1982. Bob's family would like all of his friends to join them in a Celebration of his life, which will begin with visitation at 9:00 a.m. Friday, January 22, 1999. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Tucson, 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd. 85716.

DAYTON, Jerry N., died January 17, 1999. He is survived by sons, Jerry and Keith; daughter, Teresa; and six grandchildren; former wife, Carla Dayton. He served in the Marine Corp., was a Programmer with IBM, then self employed, and disabled since 1987. Mr. Dayton lived in Tucson for the last 16 years, previously in California and born in Texas. He was loved by so many and will be missed by all. No memorial service will be held per the deceased wishes.

FAPPIANO, Gina M., 28, died January 19, 1999 in Tucson. Born October 5, 1970 in New Haven, CT. Survived by father, Richard Fappiano; mother, Cindy Marshall; stepfather, Kenneth Marshall; grandmother, Evelyn Sayers; and a loving friend, Earl Cudney. Preceded in death by her daughter, Kaylee. Visitation for Gina will be Friday, January 22, 1999 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL. Mass will be Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo. Burial will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225E. GOOSHERST, Col. John Charles (USAF Ret.), 82, died Monday, January 18, 1999 in Moscow, ID. Survived by daughter, Mary Ann Kellogg of Moscow; sons, Jack Goosherst of Chicago and Patrick J. Goosherst of El Frida, AZ; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife, Mary Elizabeth Jones Goosherst and son, Michael Edward Goosherst. John was born May 5, 1916 in Chicago, IL to Charles and Gertrude (Bruno) Goosherst. He grew up and graduated from high school in Chicago. He married Dorothy Griffin in 1942 in Arkansas, they divorced later. He married Mary Elizabeth Jones in Chicago on June 22, 1948. In 1935 he joined the Army/Air Corp and continued serving with the Air Force in 1943. He served as a pilot and retired from the Air Force in 1960 as a Lt. Col. He went to work for the US Postal Service, and was a mail carrier in Tucson until his retirement in 1978. He moved to Moscow in April of 1994 to live with his daughter. He was a member of the Elks and Moose Lodges, the VFW, bowled on various leagues both in Tucson and in Moscow and since coming to Moscow was member of the Road Runners (an RV travel club). 'Colonel' was a life member of the Retired Officers Assoc. and a Charter Member of the Palouse Chapter. While in Arizona, John was an active member of the Volunteer Sheriff's Assoc. of Pima County. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, an Aftercare Provider, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 22 at St. Ann's Convent, 4100 Sabino Canyon Rd. Interment East Lawn Palms Cemetery with Military Honors. The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

LOPEZ - In Loving memory of Josephine Bautista Lopez, 77, died December 27, 1998. Survived by husband, Oscar Lopez; daughters, Olga, Elena and Stella; sons, Oscar, Jr., Ronald and Andrew; 12 grandchildren, all from Alta Loma, CA. Also survived by brothers and sisters, as well as nieces and nephews, Cora and Robert Silvas, Grace Baaba, Artemisa Arvizu, Concha Skinner, Guadalupe and Seymour Lefkowitz, Ernesto and Hortensia Bautista, Raymond and Magadalena Bautista, Vicente Bautista (deceased). She will be missed and loved by all. May she rest in peace.

MARTIN CORONADO NUNEZ, 36, of Tucson, went to be with our Lord January 17, 1999. Survived by parents, Alfredo and Lucy Nunez; daughters, Jessica, Veronica and Natalie Nunez and Brandy Lucero; sons, Martin and Dominic Nunez and Orlando Lucero; mother of his children, Elizabeth Lucero; sisters, Terry (Rick) NunezVega and JoJo (Conrad) Hurtado; brother, Alfred (Elenaor) Nunez. Also survived by Erica, David and Cesar Nunez, Conrad Jr., Cameo and Levi Hurtado and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Saturday, January 23, 1999, 9:00 a.m. at St. Monica's Church, 212 West Medina. Interment to follow at South Lawn Cemetery. PARISE, Eleanor T., 87, of Tucson, died January 19, 1999. Survived by daughters, Marie Miller, Victorsville, CA; Lynn Gompf, Tucson, Arizona; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Harry Dombroski from Beverly Hills, FL; and many loving family members and friends. Services 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 25, 1999 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. ROHR, Mark A., 48, of Tucson, died January 17, 1999. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Lin and his father, George. Survived by daughters, Marla (Randy) Roderick and Monica (Jesse) Wong; mother, Odys Rohr; brother, Bruce (Mary Ellen) Rohr; grandchildren, Anthony, Randy Jr., Amanda and nephew, Joe. We'll miss you Dad. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME. The Rohr family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. SHEALY, Catherine Christina 'Chris', left us January 19, 1999. Born in Wales in the year 1929, married Forrest E. Shealy Jr. Survived by her children, Patrick (Lenora), Michelle (Robert) Tselentis, Yvonne (Lisa) Shealy and Bettina (Andrew) Boisclair; grandchildren, Melissa Shealy, Daniel, Kaleena Shealy, Paul, Michael and Brett Tselentis, Andrew Jr., Brandon, Ashley and Amanda Boisclair. Loving sisters and family members in England. She will always be in all our hearts. From God, to us, now back thru God to her husband may she find eternal peace and happiness. Bye Mom. LAURANCE W. WEEKS, 82, of Tucson, went to be with the Lord, Monday, January 18, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Enid of 52 years; sons, Michael (Tawn), Douglas and Patrick (Karen) Weeks; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Donna) Weeks of Arroyo Grande, CA. Laurance served in the Navy during WWII. He won numerous weight lifting competitions in California and Arizona from 1935 to 1960. He volunteered in weight training at Sunnyside and Desert View High Schools. Mr. Weeks was a member of the Southwest Bible Baptist Church. Funeral Services, 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 1999 at South West Baptist Church, 2861 W. Pelston Street with Reverend Ronald H.Weber Sr. officiating. Visitation for family and friends, Friday, January 22 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Avenue. WILLS, Maxine, 76, died Tuesday, January 19, 1999. She is survived by: her daughter, Linda Roberts and fiance Kerry Goolsby; and son John (Eileen) Roberts; also three grandchildren, Michelle, Daniel and Matthew Roberts. Memorial services will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church on Friday January 22, at 4:00 p.m. and a second service on January 23, at the Country Club of La Cholla at 9:30 a.m. Donations may be made in Maxine's name to the American Lung Association. She will be missed by family and friends.

AMENHAUSER, Linda Elena Deeb, 59, passed on to a higher plain of existence to be with our Lord Jesus Christ January 15, 1999. Survived by her husband, Rev. Evan Richard Lewis, Jr., 72, died January 19, 1999. Husband of Barbara Jean Lewis; father of David Evan Lewis, Allan Richard Lewis, Linda Jean Brobst and Garry Dean Lewis; brother of Ruth Zimmerman; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many loving and faithful friends also survive. Mr. Lewis was born and raised in Hammond, Indiana, the youngest of 12 children. He came to Tucson in 1946 with the Air Force. Following military service he went to work for the Veteran's Administration and was warehouse supervisor for many years. He was actively involved for many years serving in various positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23 at the LDS Church, 700 N.Bonanza Ave. with interment to follow at East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, January 22 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway and from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m.Saturday, January 23 at the church.

MAYER, Ruth Adams, 89, passed away January 20, 1999. She was a resident of Tucson since 1946, after moving from Milwaukee. Ruth's parents were William and Louise Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Mayer who passed away July 13, 1998. She and Pete, college sweethearts married 1932, he was her 'Presh' and they shared a life of love and devotion. In 1932 she graduated from Lake Forest College, she never stopped reading and had many varied interests. Her son, Peter A. (Joanne) Mayer; grandchildren, Peter L. (Anne) Mayer, Pam (Jim) Gates, Patricia (Joseph) Dorgan, Peggy (Rick)Taylor; six great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, Elyse (David) Daoust and Tony Oskins, and three step great-grandchildren will miss her cheerful and sunny smile, her enthusiasm and zest for life. She had been an active and giving member of our community for many years. Ruth and Pete loved to travel and have fun. Her many friends were an important part of her life. Ruth was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church after moving to Tucson. Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be at 4:00 p.m.Saturday, January 30 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 400 E. University. Her family would like to thank the staff at ManorCare and the Carondelet Hospice Staff for the care she received. Charles Lee 'Mac' McClure, Captain, USAF, Retired - Died, Tucson, Arizona January 19, 1999. Born October 4, 1916 in St. Louis, Missouri. Graduated from University City High School. Attended the University of Missouri, Columbia. Enlisted as a Flying Cadet on October 12, 1940 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.Graduated from Navigator Training School and commissioned as Second Lieutenant on December 5, 1941, two days before Pearl Harbor. Volunteered for secret mission December 7, which turned out to be the famous Doolittle Tokyo Raid and was severely injured in a crash landing April18, 1942 on the China Coast. Subsequently hospitalized until June 1943. Assigned duties as a navigator instructor and again hospitalized from February 1945 until June 1945. Retired for physical disability.Decorations include Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, Chinese Army, Navy and Air Corp Medal, Class A, First Grade. Retired from the Appleton Wire Works and retired to Tucson. Surviving are his wife, Edith; two daughters, Wendy (Larry) McCalvy, Mimi (Ken) Salber; three sons, Sandy (Connie) McClure, Mike McClure and Cory (Kena) McClure; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild and his brother, Robert D. McClure of St. Louis, Missouri. No services are planned. Donations in Charles name may be made to Doolittle Scholarship Fund care of Col. James Macia, 8907 Wexford St., San Antonio, TX 78217. ROSE, Leonard James, born in 1923, died January 18, 1999. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret and sisters, Margaret Mary Cook of Louisville, KY and Patricia Gillam of Wilmette, IL. Also survived by his children, Joe Rose, Kathy Croll, Mary Boussios, Jean Rose, Tom Rose and Peggy Young; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Rose grew up in Chicago, Illinois and attended Northwestern University. He served in the Signal Corps. in World War II. Hiscareer as an engineering physicist brought him to Tucson in 1963 to work at Kitt Peak National Observatory. He retired from Motorola. The family gives heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Mary's Hospital ICU. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. A private family remembrance will be held.

ELEANOR SILVAS, 70, of Tucson, passed away January 18, 1999. Survived by daughters, Josie (Gabriel) Baumea, Mary Helen Silvas (Humberto Ruiz), Isabel (Eric) Ortega, Carmen (Antonio) Ordonez, Vicky Humo and Michelle (Fred) Francisco; sons, Danny (Rosa) and Ray (Lydia) Silvas. Also survived by 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 23, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday, January 24, 1999 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey. Interment to follow at Monte Calvario. She had many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and friends. Our mother, grandmother, and aunt will be deeply missed by all of us. She will be forever in our hearts. SILVERMAN, Ida, 90, passed away January 20, 1999. Ida was born April 27, 1908in Brailov, Ukraine. She left home as a teenager coming to the United States.Making clothing articles on a sewing machine in the Jamaica Plain/Boston area, she earned enough to bring her mother and siblings to the U.S. In 1939, she married Morris Silverman and settled in Texarkana, Texas where her two sons, Mel and Shelby were born. The family moved to Tucson in 1951. Ida worked along side of her husband, Morris in their 'Mom & Pop' business until Morris passed away in 1976. Ida was a member of Congregation Anshei Israel Sisterhood, Hadassah and B'nai B'rith Women. Beloved mother of Mel (Marsha) and Shelby (Linda) and beloved grandmother of Mark, Mia (Justin), Lisa, Michael, Joshua and Ranit. Funeral Services, Friday, January 22, 1:30 p.m. Evergreen Chapel with Rabbi Arthur Oleisky and Cantor Ivor Lichterman of Congregation Anshei Israel officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. SLEET, Harwell J., 79, of Tucson, died January 21, 1999. Member of Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. Husband of Mary L. of Tucson; father of Randolph B.
