GLENNON, William J. Jr., 80 of Tucson, died March 5, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggy; sister, Marjorie (Robert) Rauh; four nephews; one niece; 10 grandnephews and grandnieces. He served for four years with the Navy during WWII, and was commissioned at Notre Dame where he served as the First Regimental Commander of the Midshipmen Corp. He was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES AVALON CHAPEL, 8090 N. Northern Ave. (@ Magee) Tuesday, March 9, 1999 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 10, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5150 N. Valley View Rd. Burial will follow at Ft. Huachuca. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.

HELM, Sylvia H., went to be with her Lord March 5, 1999. Survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward A. Helm; sisters-in-law Leone Helm of Tucson and Margaret Helm of Sun City and other loving family and friends. She was born January 6, 1910 to Frederick and Alice Messman in Milwaukee, WI. She worked as an advertising clerk. Edward and Sylvia moved to Tucson in 1947. Memorial Service 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, 710 S. Kolb Rd. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, an Aftercare provider.

HERNES, Sally, age 62, of Tucson, passed away March 4, 1999. She is survived by sisters, Norma (Tom) Deatherage and Judy (Marvin) Janas. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 1999 at the Mortuary Chapel, 5401 S. Park. Friends may call at The Mortuary from 9:00 a.m.until service time. Interment South Lawn cemetery. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, an aftercare provider.

HOLDER, Greta Griffin, passed from this life on Saturday, March 6, 1999, after an eight month struggle with metastatic breast cancer. She and her beloved husband Frank, of Rocky Ford, Colorado spent their winter months in Tucson, where they enjoyed the friendship of many friends and neighbors, in particular their friends from their newlywed days at the University of Arizona.
Greta was born in Princeton, Texas and was raised in both McKinney Texas and Rocky Ford, Colorado. She is a graduate of Hockaday, as well as Southern Methodist University, where she was a PiPhi. Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, Electra West Griffin, of Dallas, Texas. She has three children, Carl Holder, of Pasco, Washington; Hal Holder of Rocky Ford, Colorado; and Holly Holder Galgano of Rye, New York. She is survived by 11 grandchildren, one of who is a junior at The U of A, Tamara Holder. Greta is also survived by two sisters of Dallas, Texas; Dr. Gail Thomas and Bette Griffin, and Ike Griffin of Orlando, Florida.
Locally, Greta was a studio artist, and was loved by many as a woman of tremendous grace, intelligence and compassion. She was adored by many, and her memory will be cherished.
In gratitude for the abundance of her life, and in celebration of her new life, a Tucson Memorial Service was held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Dignita Hospice Foundation, 202 E. Earll Dr. Ste 320, Phoenix, AZ 85012 or Kairos Prison Ministries, 140 N. Orlando Ave., Winter Park, Florida 32786.

TRUJILLO, Ernest O., 61, of Tucson, passed away March 04, 1999. Survived by wife, Avelina Trujillo; mother, Elvira Trujillo; son, Ernesto A. Trujillo; sisters, Annie Aragon, Grace Taylor, Viola Bailey, Theresa (Richard) Quieroz and Norma Trujillo; brother, Richard Trujillo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 09, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Wednesday, March 10, 1999, 10:00 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. WYSOCKI, Jean Marie, 71, died March 6, 1999. Mother of Michael, Steven and Mark Wysocki; sister of Bruce Barnaby and Peggy Schmatz. She was born & raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and lived in Boulder, Colorado for 15 years before retiring to Arizona in 1979. She will be greatly missed. Memorial Service 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd. She will be buried at Ft. Logan National cemetery in Denver, CO. with her husband Ervin. CHASE, M. Patricia, 79, of Tucson, died March 6, 1999. Survived by husband, Raymond; daughter, Sharon (Bill) Wolford of Apache Junction, AZ; son, Larry (Shirley) Chase of Tucson; stepchildren, Lynda (Mike) Sutherland of Catalina, Laurie (John) Ellis of Phoenix, Jeff (Liz) Chase of Loganville, GA; four grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph (Rae) Logan of High Point, NC. A veteran of WW II, Mrs. Chase served in the Women's Army Corp in the Philippines. She was a member of Parents Without Partners until 1970 when she married Raymond. She enjoyed music and traveling. Cryptside service, 9:00 a.m.Tuesday, March 9 at East Lawn Palms Mausoleum, 5801 E. Grant Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carondelet Hospice. FRASER, Dean H., DDS, 89, of Tucson, died March 7, 1999. Survived by daughters, Deanne Battista of Southington, CT and Glory V. HECHT, Stanley, 75, died March 8, 1999 after a courageous battle with many illnesses. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Muriel; son, Frank (Cheryl) Hecht; daughter, Barbara Moss; grandchildren, Tori (Buddy) Janes, Chris Hecht and R.C. Hecht, Stephen Moss and Jennifer Moss; great-grandchildren, Timmy and Mikayla Janes. Stanley loved life, his family, friends and jokes. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him, including his faithful companion, Abigail, his red Dobie. MEJIA, Anthony (Tony), 26, of Tucson, passed away March 06, 1999. preceded in death by mother, Sara Mejia. ELEAZAR 'CHAPO' L. MIRANDA - Beloved husband to Alicia A. Miranda, born in Tucson, Arizona on April 5, 1914 of 84 years. preceded in death by son, Bobby Miranda (Nena). Surviving children are Eddie Miranda (Carmen), Patricia Yturralde (Raul); 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Epifrano Mirana (Ramona), Eriberto Miranda and sister, Amalia Bonillas. Retired from Pima County Security Dept., also worked at Ruby and Banner Mines. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10 at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary, (South Chapel, 240 S. Stone Ave. from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held Thursday, March 11 at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S. Stone at 10:30 a.m. Interment following at Holy Hope cemetery.

NAEGLE, Ronald Leon, 58 years of Benson, AZ, passed away Saturday, March 6, 1999 in Tucson. Ron was a truck driver. He is survived by wife, Jackie of J-6; son, Tim (Tracy) of Vail, AZ; daughter, Tammy (Bobby) Suttle of Prescott Valley, AZ; daughter-in-law, Donna of Pomerene, AZ., (preceded in death by son, William); brother, John (Jean) of Central, AZ; brother, Gene (Jean) of Pomerene, AZ; six grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10, 1999 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Benson Ward on Pomerene off I-10. ROSSER, Willis A., 75, died March 5, 1999. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona December 25, 1923. preceded in death by his parents: father, Willis Sr. and mother, Jessie K. Adair of Nogales, AZ. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ivy Elizabeth of Tucson; sister, Juby Bell of Nogales; his three children, Robin W. Rosser of Los Angeles, CA, Rosemary A. Rosser of Tucson and Frances Rosser Taylor of Marborough, NH; four grandchildren, Dean Floerchinger, Joelle, Nathan and Clint Rosser. During WWII, Willis served with the Eighth Air Force, 385 Bomber Squadron, surviving 50 missions over Germany; he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from the California Institute of Technology and worked for over 40 years as a research scientist in the aerospace industry. He retired from Hughes Aircraft in White Sands in 1989 and returned to the Sonoran desert of his family. Memorial service, 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 1999 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway with Father James Coleman officiating.

RYAN, Dorothy G., 87, passed away December 26, 1998 at Sunrise Sabino Canyon Care Center (formerly Balmoral). Born in Chicago, she lived in Tucson in the 50's working at Hughes. For 15 years she was a resident of Los Angeles where she was an executive secretary for the Hertz Corporation and the L.A. Housing authority. She retired in Tucson in the late 70's. She was an active member of the Eastern Star where she held many offices. Dorothy was a devoted member of Broadway Christian Church, serving several terms as an Elder as well as treasurer. Two brothers survive. George and Charles Moritz of Fresno, CA and Manchester, NH. A memorial service will be held at Broadway Christian Church, 4741 E. Broadway on Thursday, March 11, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon to celebrate Dorothy's life. Memorial contributions may be given to the church.

TRAYNER, George Parker, 78 of Tucson, died March 5, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gweneth J. Trayner and his brother, John L. Trayner of St. George, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Parker Trayner, Sr. and Grace Lambert Trayner; three sisters, Maryan Yadon, Grace E. Allen and Kathryn Marshall and by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Trayner came with his wife to live in Tucson in 1948. He worked for the United States Post Office until he retired in 1975. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 1999 at El Dorado Ward, LDS Church, 6150 E. Fairmount. In lieu of flowers donations in George's memory may be made to the Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way, Tucson, Arizona 85775. Burial will beat Wasatch Lawn in Salt Lake City, Utah. WILLIAM H. WATERS, JR. - Died March 7, 1999. Born on February 9, 1934 in Duncan, AZ. Survived by his wife, Paulette Waters; mother, Vella Hurst; brother, Buddy C. (Wilma Jean) Waters and sister, Jeannie (Carroll) Bordelon. He has three daughters, Deborah (Joseph) Woods, Pamela Evans and Vicki (Dave) Jordan; nine grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Angela (Kevin) Williams and Laura (Ghislain) Lapierre; seven step grandchildren. Bill retired from the U.S. Post Office after 25 years, serving 17 years at Davis-Monthan A.F. Base. He is a retired Msgt., after 21 years U.S.A.F., many years as an Air Traffic Controller and retiring as an Air Traffic Controller Instructor. A native Arizonan and descendant of his great, great-grandfather, Christopher Layton. A member of 22nd Street Baptist Church. Friends may call Tuesday, March 9, 1999 from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. ELVA SMITH BALDRIDGE, born October 5, 1924 in Ravenden, Ark., passed away March 6, 1999 after a long illness. Widow of S. Sgt. Virgil Baldridge. Beloved mother of Helen (Rex) Waite, Leon Baldridge of California and Virgil Baldridge, Jr. of Tucson; sister of Otis Smith of Ark., Judy Moore of Ohio and Kitty Wales of Tucson. Known for her love of children, she was 'Mom' to numerous neighborhood children including, Nancy, Gary and Ralph. Grandmother of Steve and Brian Baldridge (California). Long time resident of Tucson, she retired from Lucky Food Stores in 1986. Memorial service 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 14th at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Reception to follow.

BARRY, Beatrice, 89, died on March 3, 1999 in Alexandria, VA. She is survived by sons, Michael of VA, Patrick of CA, James (Susan) of Tucson; and grandson, Michael Patrick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael. Beatrice was born in the town of Glennamaddy in the county of Galway, Ireland on August 7, 1909. She was the daughter of Bridget and Patrick Fleming. Beatrice immigrated to the United States in 1926, living in New York. In June of 1938 she married Michael Barry. They settled in Brooklyn, New York until 1969, when they retired to Tucson. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
May the road rise up to meet her, may the wind be always at her back, may the sun shine warm upon her face and the rains fall soft upon her fields, and until we meet again, may God hold her in the palm of His hand. Friends may call at St. Odilla Catholic Church, 7570 N. Paseo del Norte, Thursday, March 11, 1999 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Odilia Catholic Church, Friday, March 12, 1999 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Hope cemetery.
