Park Ave., Tuesday, May 25, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. Frances was born on August 28, 1919 in Galveston, Texas. She was called home May 17, 1999. HACKWORTH, James Louis, age 67, of Tucson, Arizona, died May 18, 1999. Survived by wife, Ressie M. Hackworth; sons, Anthony (Terry) Hackworth, Gary (Sharon) Johnson, James L. Hackworth, Amarillo, TX; daughters, Dena (Ronald) Stockett, Kernersville, NC, Loveta (Earnest) Hearn; sisters, Sarah (Willie) Timmons, Dorothy Denson (deceased), Lillie Tenner (deceased), Amarillo, TX; 11 grandchildren. Affiliations include being a mason, Prince Hall affiliation, Shriner and member of United Supreme Council #33. She is survived by her husband, Charles Loyash, Sr.; sons, Ken (Fran) and Chuck (Arlene); four granddaughters, Laurene, Carla, Christina, and Darla; brother, John Ondeyka; sister, Sue Loyash. Friends may call at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave at Magee, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 1999. ORLYNKOWICH, Agnes I., 86, of Tucson, died May 21, 1999. Survived by son, Bruce (Nancy) Minerly of CO; and daughter, Wilma Emery of OH; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. REMUS, Edith A., of Tucson, died May 22, 1999. She is survived by husband, Charles E. Remus; daughter, Judith Remus; sons, Carl (Nancy) Remus, John (Brenda) Remus, and Bill (Sheryl) Remus; seven grandchildren, Annie, Katie, Audrey, Steven, Krystle, Ashley, and Brittany. She was a founding member of Craycroft Baptist Church and very active in the Christian community. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 1999 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., an Aftercare Provider, where Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, 1999. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms cemetery.

RHODES, Hugh D., 77, of Tucson, died May 22, 1999. Survived by wife, Doris Ann Rhodes of Tucson; stepchildren, Jim (Lynn) Arnett of San Diego, CA, and Elizabeth (David) Biering of Brea, CA; sisters, Donna (Ted) Nilson of Benson, AZ, and Patricia (Robert) Lyons of Shingletown, CA; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. At Mr. Rhodes request there will be no services. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY.

RILEY, Barbara J., 49, of Tucson, died unexpectedly on May 18, 1999. She is survived by son, Matthew Riley and family of Michigan; a daughter, Michelle Riley of Tucson; and two brothers, Dave Clark of Oregon and Ron Clark of Nebraska. Services will be private. Donations may be made to The Pima County Humane Society. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, an aftercare provider.

SHENK, Melvin Weir, 82, of Tucson, and formerly of Eden Prairie, MN, ended his courageous battle with cancer at home in Tucson, AZ, May 21, 1999. He was born in Elrod, SD on May 27, 1916. He is survived by his wife, Helen, to whom he has been married for 58 years; daughters, Barbara Zettel of Bloomington, MN; Margaret (Robert) Jenkins of St. Michael, MN; sons, Earl (Diane) Shenk of Brooklyn Center, MN; Marvin Shenk of Gillette, WY; Russell (Anita) Shenk of Tucson, AZ; brother, Darrold Shenk of Hopkins, MN; eight grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. preceded in death by his daughter, Virginia Nordwall. Weir was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers for 30+ years and he was the owner of Shenks Shop since 1968. Special thanks to all our friends for their support during this difficult time and to Dignita Hospice for their care and kindness. STEVENS, Richard A., CDR, USNR R, age 80, died at home May 22, 1999, surrounded by family. He was born February 16, 1919 in Concord, New Hampshire and grew up there.
Survived by wife, Kathryn; sons, Kim (Mary Jo), Jim (Pat), Joe (Diane); daughters, Pat, Mary (Danny), Peg (Barry), Carol (Al), Terrie (Jerry), and Judy (Waldo); brothers, David (Harriet) and Robert (Betsy); also 22 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
CDR Stevens served 24 years in USN during which time he was a flight instructor flying both the Steersman and the SNJ. He was a pioneer naval helicopter pilot, commanding the first squadron based at NAS Minneapolis, MN.
As a civilian he worked in aircraft sales for Northern Airmotive and Mitsubishi before retiring to Albuquerque, NM, and later Tucson, AZ.
Always an avid pilot, CDR Stevens was an active member of the Retired Officers Assn, the Association of Naval Aviation, Inc., and the Experimental Aircraft Assn. He authored numerous articles for a variety of aviation publications.
Services will be held at St. Odilia's Church, 7570 Paseo del Norte. The Vigil will be Monday, May 24, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, May 25 at 9:00 a.m. Committal at Fort Snelling National cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

Hector Marine Villasenor, 68, born in and lifelong resident of Tucson, died May 20, 1999. He is survived by his children, Margo P. Martinez, Hector M. Villasenor, Jr., Angelique A. Griffith, Gloria V. Portillo, Danielle A. Villasenor, and Belen Obregon, all of Tucson. The mother of his children: Gloria as well as 11 grandchildren, brothers, sisters and many loving friends and other family members. Memorial Services will be held Monday, May 24, 1999 at 5:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 6700 E. Broadway. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY, an Aftercare provider.We love you, Daddy, and we'll miss you.

WILMOTH, June M., 79, passed away May 20, 1999. preceded in death by her husband, Gene Wilmoth June 8, 1985. Survived by son, Michael and his wife, Joanie; granddaughter, Ronny Leigh and her husband, Steven Morris; great-grandchildren, Christopher Lee, Brittney Michelle, Kaitlyn Ann, and Steven Michael Morris; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 24, 1999 at EAST LAWN PALMS, an Aftercare provider, 5801 E Grant Rd., where Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 25, 1999. ALVAREZ, Julia G., 66, of Tucson, died May 21, 1999. She was born in Tucson. She is survived by her son, Victor J. Alvarez; daughter, Maria E. Alvarez; granddaughter, Catalina J. Alvarez; sisters, Rafaela Romero and Victoria Alvarez and many nieces and nephews. An all night vigil will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 1999 at the family home, 438 W. 39th Street. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be at Santa Cruz Church on Thursday, May 27, 1999 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Hope cemetery. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY, an aftercare provider.

DOLAN, Patrick Thomas, 76, of Tucson, died May 22, 1999. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Colleen; sons, Larry and Edward Dolan; grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, Jolee, Thomas and Christina. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Nicholas. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd. Cremation will follow. Arrangements by Heather Mortuary, an aftercare provider.

EVILSIZER, Floyd R., 80, passed away on May 20, 1999 in Tucson, Arizona. preceded in death by his wife, Joy and brother, Howard of Michigan. Mr. Evilsizer is survived by a daughter in Oregon. Floyd worked and retired from Clinton Valley Center in Pontiac, Michigan. He spent his final years enjoying his woodworking and gardening. He traveled throughout the west. He also enjoyed the animals of the desert. Interment will be at the Green Valley Mortuary, Green Valley, Arizona next to his wife. There will be no local service, however a visitation will be Thursday, May 27, 1999 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to 'The Reid Park Zoo, ' 1100 S. Randolph Way, Tucson, AZ 85716. This was his favorite spot for peace and enjoyment.

MILLS, Earl T., entered eternity on May 24, 1999. The husband of the late Kathryn C. Mills, he is survived by his children, Timothy E. (Lois) Mills, Bonnie (Ken) Laue, and Sherry (Andy) Waer; six grandchildren, Andrew, Jannette, Melissa, Carmen, Michelle and Renee; a great-grandson, Francisco; and a sister, Evelyn Hood. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 27, 1999 at 9:00 a.m. in the EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Road with Dr. Ed Nelson officiating. There will be a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the East Lawn Palms Mortuary, an aftercare provider. Committal will take place in East Lawn Palms cemetery.

Cindy Y. Moran, 33, of Oro Valley, died May 21, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Clarinda Rene Moran; mother, Chong O. Perkins; grandmother, Hye Suk Lee, all of Oro Valley. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, 6:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY. Friends may call Tuesday, 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Chapel service, Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., Evergreen cemetery. TERRILL, Salvador R., born February 7, 1923, died May 24, 1999. Mr. Terrill was born in Miami, AZ, to Beatriz R. and Jose Terrill. Sal is survived by his wife, Helen; son, Joey; daughter, Linda Somilleda (Nick), and granddaughter, Natalie; daughter, Monica Carter (Tim), and grandchildren, Marcus Garner, Dustin and Ashley; daughter, Mona Long; brother, Manuel; sisters, Concha Terrill, Emma Bostick, Rosa Munoz, Ernestina Valles (Jorge), Josephina Castro (Hector), Estela Burgos, Hortencia Arellano and Cecilia Rivera (Alfonso); sister-in-law, Esther Duarte Contreras; uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews. Mr. Terrill joined the U.S. Marines in 1941 at the age of 18. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Sal was a photographer, printer, welder, silversmith, interpreter, golfer and fisherman. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 1999 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave.

Joyce Rosilie Trimble passed away peacefully on May 23, 1999. She was born to Harry and Gertrude Curtis on August 30, 1932 in Toronto, Canada. At the age of 13, her family moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she met and later married Richard R. Trimble. Joyce is survived by her husband of 49 years, Richard, and their two sons, Larry (Debbie) Trimble and Rick (Pat) Trimble. Joyce loved being a grandma and was a great-grandma. She is survived by her grandchildren, Shanon (Scott) Jones, Steve (Shannon) Trimble, Brian Trimble and Kevin (Tissa) Trimble; and her great-grandchildren, Anthony, Olivia, Nathaneal and Christopher.
Joyce had a wonderful family of brothers and sisters from her marriage to Richard. Marie Anderson, Jim (Mary) Trimble, Shirley (Bill) Mattausch, and Ron (Sandy) Trimble, as well as her own two brothers, Lawrence Curtis and Michael Curtis.
Joyce and Richard were long time members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Assoc. Chapter K. In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed painting, singing and writing poetry and songs. Most of all, she loved to laugh.
Joyce will always hold a special place in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

TUCKER, Tommy Gerald, 69, died May 23, 1999. Husband of Lois Tucker; father of Linda (Frank) Ruiz of Phoenix, Karen (Larry) Krones of Austin, Minnesota, Ginny Tucker of Anchorage, Alaska, Kathy (Kirk) Mason of San Antonio, TX, Jim (Karen) Tucker of Tucson and Janice (Mark) Alterman of Tucson; brother of Allen Tucker of Lorain, Ohio. Nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. Three brothers preceded him in death. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 28 years and came to Tucson in 1973. Tommy and Lois celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 20. Memorial service 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 27 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Donations in Tommy's memory may be made to the V.A. Hospice, 3601 S. 6th Ave., T/A 85713.

Evelyn Wallis died at age 98. She was born in Wilmette, ILL., and graduated from New Trier High School. Evelyn also lived in Winnetka, ILL. Her sport was running. Our dad used to call her his 'go-go-girl' because she did everything quickly. Evelyn Steen married John Lowell Wallis on April 22, 1925. They enjoyed golfing, square dancing and bowling and spent 58 happy years together. They had three daughters, ten grandchildren and their 29 great grandchildren are from ages 25 years down through two years of age.
The Wallis family moved to Arizona in 1947, and almost every weekend explored different towns, back roads and byways together in our 'new' state.
Evelyn made smocked children's dresses for her children and later sewed to help raise funds for the Tucson Museum of Art. She was a first-rate crafter creating works of art in knitting, embroidery, needlepoint and exquisite hand-sewn full-sized quilts. She helped to start Alateen and Alanon groups in Tucson.
For a number of years she worked as a retail clerk at fine dress shops in Tucson. Evelyn traveled to many parts of the globe.
Evelyn was preceded in death on January 7, 1984 by her husband, and is survived by three daughters, Reta Cruse of Young, AZ, Jean Ares of Tucson, AZ and Julie Moore of Paso Robles, CA.
