ANNA G. OLSON, 73, our loving mother, of Tucson, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999 after a life long struggle with asthma. She was born on December 8, 1926 in Williams, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Olson. She is survived by three loving daughters, Ann (Roger) Wolf, Nancy (Howard) Korten, Betty (Bucky) Strunk; seven grandchildren, Shane, Shiloh, Shanna, Grant, Jessica, Jennifer, and Howie; sisters, Ivy Olson and Martha Doolittle. The family wishes to express its sincere thank you to her doctor for his many years of wonderful and loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tanque Verde Lutheran Church, 8625 E. Tanque Verde Rd., Tucson, 85749 or to a charity of your choice. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 1999 at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church. BRACAMONTE, Rafaela V., 89, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away July 23, 1999. preceded in death by daughter, Alicia Valdez. Survivors by husband, Francisco Bracamonte; daughters, Bertha (Cornelio) Ormsby, Mercedes (Adolfo) Martinez and Cecilia Bracamonte; son, Frank (Olga) Bracamonte; sister, Maria Soto. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 25, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday, July 26, 1999, 10:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. Beloved mother, wife, grandmother and special friend, Rafaela V. Bracamonte resident of Tucson for 89 years. She will be missed by her family and friends. GIBSON, Joseph R., D.D.S. (Col. USAF Ret.), 84, a resident of Tucson for thirty years, died Thursday, July 22, 1999. Survived by son, Robert J. (Leslie) Gibson; daughter, Dorothy Skomer both of CA; grandsons, Michael Gibson and Tony Skomer. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. HUNT, John K. 'Jack' 72, of Tucson, died July 20, 1999. He was survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris A. Hunt; daughter, Karen (James) Olson of Cicero, IN; son, Jack (Carlene) Hunt of Centerville, OH; four grandchildren, Tonya Seitz Lenning of TN, Jonathan Seitz of AZ, Stephanie Hunt Childs of OH, Jeremy Hunt of OH; sister, Mildred Hunt Tuma of MD; and many nieces and nephews. HEINRICY, Rosalie Y., 86, of Tucson, formerly of Denver, CO., died July 23, 1999. Survived by her daughter, Janalie R. (John) Kneeland of Tucson; and her son, Michael C. (Nancy) Heinricy who are serving as missionaries in Russia; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Thomason of Denver, CO and Romona (John) Moore of Everett, WA; a brother, David J. Blanton of Lamar, CO. Prior to her retirement Mrs. Heinricy was employed by the U.S. Air Force. LARGER, Lawrence Laverne, 40, died in Indianapolis, Indiana. Son of Mary L. Larger; brother of Vicki (John) Kucera, Bonnie (Mike) Stearsman, Theresa Larger, Mary Anne (Ron) Litteral, Jerry (Francine) Larger, Richard Larger, Gene (Sara) Larger and Alan (Gina) Larger. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Lawrence was a graduate of Ivy Tech State College School of Nursing. He was preceded in death by his father, Chief Warrant Officer, Urban B. Larger. Funeral Service 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway with Pastor Kevin Kritzer officiating. WILSON, Sandra Lee, 50, of Tucson, passed away at home on July 24, 1999. Sandy is preceded in death by her mother Constance Telladera; and father Oliver 'Sully' Sullivan. She is survived by her son, Mark O. (Kristina) Wilson; grandson, Dakota Wilson; sister, Sharon Grizzle; and brother Gary Sullivan. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, DODGE CHAPEL, 1050 N Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), on Tuesday, July 27, 1999 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. where funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 28 at 1:00 p.m. This service will also honor and recognize her 27 years of dedicated service to the Tucson Police Department. GENEVEIVE 'JENNY' MUNGIA CRUZ, age 81, loving wife and mother. A lifetime resident of Arizona, passed away July 25, 1999. Survived by her husband of 53 years, Manuel L. Cruz; children, Esther Garcia, Toni (Jose) Gomez, Margie (Rene) Obregon, Manuel (Berna) Cruz; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters, 'The Golden Girls' Mercy Lopez, Julia Sanchez and Erminia Dorame. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 1999 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at St. Monica Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Lawn cemetery. 'Forever in our prayers and memories.' WILLIAM 'BILL' P. DUPONT, passed away of Parkinson's on July 1999. A native Tucsonan, he lettered in four sports at Tucson High and thrilled local fans, especially with his catching, as a member of the 'R.A.T.s', a well known local group of semi-pro baseball players. His baseball skill was recognized when he and lifetime friend, Augustine 'Augie' Acuna, escorted Eleanor Roosevelt to a dinner in her honor at the National Youth Association in Hermosa Beach, CA in 1936. Drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers, 'Memo' instead chose to join the U.S. Marine Corps because of World War II. He was also a catcher for the U.S.M.C. baseball team in San Diego, CA. A survivor of Pearl Harbor and other Pacific campaigns, he returned to Tucson and joined the Tucson Fire Department. After 27 years, Mr. DuPont retired as a Battalion Chief, only to join Cholla High School as a home visitor. Mr. DuPont was a member of the draft board during the Vietnam Era. He was also a member of the Board of Directors at the Tucson Employees (now Old Pueblo) Credit Union. Mr. DuPont was one of the Parkinsonian patients who helped pioneer new medications and surgical procedures. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elda M. DuPont; his son, William G. (Denise) DuPont; his daughter, Toni DuPont-Morales, Ph.D.; and three granddaughters, Tanja N. (Jeff) Williamson, Ph.D., Maya D. Leggett, and Alexandra B. DuPont. He is preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and Martin; and sisters, Virginia Dunham and Lucy Devila. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the American Parkinson's Disease Association. Friends may call Tuesday, July 27, 1999 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd. Funeral Mass will b e offered at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 1999 at Ss. MacDONALD, Barbara A., born September 14, 1939, went to be with the Lord July 25th, 1999. Loving mother, grandmother, and compassionate friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Arrangements by Bring's Memorial Chapel, 236 S. Scott.

PIERCE, Francis 'Frank' E., born March 10, 1918, took his last flight July 25, 1999. Retired and lived in Tucson past 17 years. Survived by his wife, Mary of 57 years; one daughter, two sons, 10 grandchildren and six great-ones. Frank was a US Marine Fighter Pilot becoming an ACE in the South Pacific during Worl War II in 1943. Memorial Mass will be held on August 31, 1999, 11:00 a.m., at St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church, on Camino Seco off 22nd St.

ROSETTIE, Rev. Msgr. Frederick D., 80, a retired priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson, died Friday, July 23, 1999 in Benson. Msgr. Rosettie provided 54 years of dedicated priestly service to the Diocese of Tucson. A native of Williamsport, PA, he was the son of the late John Baptist and Louise Plano Rosettie. He studied for the priesthood at the Pontifical College in Josephinum in Worthington, Ohio, and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Tucson on March 10, 1945. He served as an associate pastor of All Saints Parish in Tucson from 1945 – 1948 and at St. Augustine's Cathedral from 1948 – 1950. He served as rector-pastor of the Cathedral from 1950 – 1965, and was the first native of the United States to hold that position. He served as pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Douglas from 1965 – 1968 and of Queen of Peace Parish in Mesa from 1968 – 1970. He received the honorary title of monsignor in 1969. He served as the interim pastor of St. Cyril of Alexandria Parish in Tucson in 1970. He was appointed pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Benson in 1970, and served there until his retirement from active ministry in 1988. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Frances Metsdarfer of Williamsport, PA, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at St. Augustine's Cathedral on Wednesday, July 28 at 7:00 p.m., followed by a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. The Rite of Christian Burial will be at St. Augustine's Cathedral on Thursday, July 29, at 10:00 a.m., concelebrated by Most Rev. Manuel D. Moreno, Bishop of Tucson, and priests of the Diocese. Burial will be at Holy Hope cemetery.

Alta joined her loving husband of nearly 47 years, Les Wolf.
She is survived by her four children, Nora Lee Marsh, Suzanne (Arturo) Rodriguez, Les Wolf, Bob (Vicki) Wolf; stepsons, Bill (Louise) Wolf, Jim (Cheryl) Moeller; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her best friend, Shotzie.
Mother lived her entire life actively involved in all the lives that touched hers. She always had the time to listen and commiserate with us about our lives and problems, celebrate our accomplishments and still love us all in spite of, and sometimes because of, our short comings.
Alta was a full time mother, mom, ma, mema, grandma and friend who taught us these things well; 'Do unto others as you would have done unto you, ' and 'Think before you speak.' You live on in all of us mother.
There are no words that can adequately express our gratitude to everyone at Carondelet Hospice Services and friends, Lisa A., Westie Rudolphi, Marla C., for the best of care mother could ever have had. At mothers request, there will be no services. Donations may be made to Carondelet Family Hospice Service, 1802 W. St. Mary's Road, Tucson, AZ 85705, in her name.

BARTHOL, Louis, 97, longtime Tucson resident, died on his birthday, July 2, 1999, in St. Paul, Minnesota following a brief illness. 'Louie' was well known in the area as a Square Dance teacher and caller. Since 1953 he lived in the Sleepy Hollow Park on Alturas Street until moving to Minnesota in January. A memorial service will be held in St. Paul on July 29th.

BUTASH, Phyllis M., 68, of Tucson, was taken quickly by the Lord on July 24, 1999. Phyllis was born and raised in Detroit, MI. She moved to Tucson from Detroit with her husband in 1964. Phyllis is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Eminger and brother, Don Blem. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Lou; her son, Louis of Detroit and sister, Diane (Bob) Hein of Long Island, NY. A private memorial service is planned. If you wish, memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis' memory to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, c/o Sabbar Shrine Temple, 450 S. Tucson Blvd., Tucson, 85716. R. RUDY CASTRO, 83, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away July 23, 1999. preceded in death by parents, Rafael and Sara Castro; son, Rudy; brother, Gilbert; sister, Rebecca. Survived by wife, Virginia; daughters, Grace (Bill) Torsch, Pat (Julian) Sandoval and Lillian C. (Richard) Nunez; sons, Arturo (Grace), Richard (Amelia), Ralph (Irene), Norman (Lupita), and James (Veronica) Castro. Also survived by 27 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 29, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Friday, July 30, 1999, 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. 'Rudy' was known for his outgoing personality and zest for life. His ability to make friends fared well for him in his career as a salesman. He served in the Navy during WW II and ended his career as sales manager for Save-On-Furniture.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have everlasting life. John 3-16.
