McLAIN, The Rev. Benjamin Evans, 56, died October 7, 1999. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, February 28, 1943. Son of Margaret Kittle (Jack); brother of Will K. (Lois), and George S. (Georgiann) McLain. A graduate of the University of Arizona and Nashotah House Episcopal Seminary. Services, Monday, October 11, 1999, 11:30 a.m. at Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Posada Del Sol Nursing Home or to the charity of your choice.

PROCIDO, Richard M., passed away peacefully on October 6, 1999. He was born on June 26, 1927. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, William M. and Helen Procido; his brother, William N. Procido; and his son, William F. Procido. Richard is survived by his wife, Anita Procido; daughters, Joanne (Sid) Weir, Mari (Stephen) Vingua, Alayne Procido; sons, Richard M., Jr. and Michael Procido; grandchildren, Jennifer Weir and Sidney Weir; sister, Marie Kane; brothers-in-law, Frank P. D'Amico, Jr., Robert (Fil) D'Amico and father-in-law, Frank D'Amico. Memorial services are to be held at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church, 8625 E. Tanque Verde Rd., Tucson, Monday, October 11 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Richard's name to the Arizona Kidney Foundation Region II, 4203 E. DOMINGUEZ, Teresa, 71, beloved mother, Nana & Great Nana, born July 25, 1928, died October 8, 1999. preceded in death by father, Carmen P. Dominguez; and mother, Rebecca P. Dominguez; and brother, Joe P. Dominguez. Her children, Rebecca (Reynaldo) Romero, Mary Ann (Luis) Frasquillo, Teresa (Ralph) Vega, Albert Martinez, Carlos Tellez, Ruben Dominguez; and her brother, Albert P. Dominguez also survive. Mrs. Dominguez is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. We will miss you Mom, Today, Tomorrow and Always. JOHN KEVIN (JK) FLOYD - A native Tucsonian, died October 7, 1999 after a courageous battle with cancer. John is survived by wife, Maria; brothers, Joseph (Ann), Mike (Linda), Jim Floyd; sisters, Pat Carpenter, Barbara (Angel) Perez, Fran (Jack) Schmidt, Margaret (Donald) Brean, Kate Floyd; stepmother, Rosemary Floyd; special cousin, Weldon Dugan, all of Tucson; and numerous other family members. John is preceded in death by parents, Chester and Catherine; brothers, Tom and George. A Memorial Mass will be held 9:00 a.m. Wed., October 13, 1999 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. HOWARD, Meta, 84, died October 5, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin 'Mike' Howard. Meta is survived by her daughter, Reta Waldron; son, Gordon Gabaree; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Private service will be held by family. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY UNIVERSITY CHAPEL.

STEWART MYRICK NORDENSSON, 62, died peacefully at home on October 5, 1999. He was born in Los Angeles on September 29, 1937. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Donna (Vieth) Nordensson and parents, Elsie and Roy Nordensson. He is survived by his service dog, Maria; his brother, Jeffrey (Kathy) Nordensson; sisters-in-law, Janice MacDonnell and Linda Veith (Chris) Low. He is also survived by his nephews, Chris and Tim Nordensson, Stephen and Thomas Adams and Adam and Brennan Low.
Stew grew up in Maryland, Santa Barbara and Tucson. He graduated from Tucson High School in 1955 and attended the University of Arizona.
Stew was a dog trainer for over 50 years. He was the founder of Top Dog, a program that specializes in the teaching of handicapped people to train their own service animals. The program has been recognized nationally as a breakthrough in training for service animals.
Stew co-authored several books on training methods adapted for handicapped service dog owners. He worked nationally as an advocate for programs like Top Dog. He also lectured at international conferences and served on the boards of directors of several national animal training professional associations.
In all his 62 years, there were two constants – his love of animals and his sense of humor. He will be remembered for both. Friends, family and acquaintances are invited to a casual memorial and remembrance at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, at McCormick Park, 3000 N. Columbus Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Top Dog in Tucson. Arrangements by Adair Funeral Home, Dodge Chapel.

SCANLON, Joann Jean, 63, passed away at her home in Tucson, AZ on October 8, 1999. She is survived by her mother, Veronica Zammetti; brother, Paddy & family; sons, John Jr., Patrick, Joseph; and daughter, Annie Scanlon; also survived by granddaughters, Melinda, Jessica, Paula & Joanna. preceded in death by her father, Pasquale; former husband, Jack; son, James; and brother, Michael.
Joann's life experiences were far reaching having worked for Clairol as a beauty consultant in NYC, stewardess for Eastern Airlines, school secretary at Red Rock Elementary (AZ), religious education teacher in Las Vegas, antique dealer in Virginia, and retired from the CIA in 1996. Outside of the U.S. she has lived in Germany, Kuwait & Africa. Joann volunteered at her church on the cleaning ministry and served as a bereavement minister.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 11th from 5:00 To 8:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, 8090 N. Northern Ave., at Magee (742-7901). Mass offered on Tuesday, October 12, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 8650 N. Shannon Rd. Burial to follow at Holy Hope cemetery.

COMBS, Miles J. 'Mike' 79, born on October 29, 1919 in Brownington, MO., passed away on September 28, 1999 in Tucson. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Grace Combs; his daughter, Karen (Reifschneider); grandchildren, Meredith and Alyson Reifschneider; sister, Doris McGuire, residing in Oklahoma; and brother, Bill Combs, residing in California. Mike served in WWII in the South Pacific. After returning from that war he married Grace Clapper, and spent most of his adult years in Oklahoma and Idaho farming and selling farm equipment. Grace and Mike spent their retirement years in Arizona. As per Mike's request, no memorial service will be held, but a celebration of his life with family and friends will be held at a later date. The family requests a donation to a children's charity of choice in lieu of flowers.

HARRISON, Lenna Honora, age 86. God took another angel home on October 10, 1999. Lenna worked as a registered nurse at St. Mary's Hospital and volunteered her time at St. John's Catholic School for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry P. Harrison; and her brother and sister-in-law, William J. and Marie Cassidy. She is survived by children, Carol Ann Brooks, Paul (Marlene), William (Carlyn) and Judith Tylutki; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and sister, Rita Connolly. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. (@ Magee), Tuesday, October 12, 1999 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 1999 at St. John's Catholic Church, 602 W. Ajo Way. Burial will follow at Holy Hope cemetery.

MILLER, Thomas Joel, born May 20, 1947, passed away of a heart attack on October 9, 1999 in San Rafael, California. Born in Galveston, Texas, and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Tom was a loving son, brother and uncle. Tom was predeceased by his mother, Sonya. He is survived by his father, Otis Miller (stepmother, Joyce); and sisters, Donna Miller (Jack Mervis) and Jan Miller (Rick Kleiner). Tom was adored by nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Shaina and Ben Mervis and Sam and Emma Kleiner. Tom is survived by his loving companion of many years, Judy Diehl.
Tom's lifelong passion and profession was the art of illustration. Tom's vital and whimsical sense of humor was so much a part of his work and his life. His was a gentle soul and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Tom's memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Desert Southwest Chapter, 626 North Craycroft, Suite 116, Tucson, AZ 85711. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 13, at 12:00 p.m. at Evergreen Mortuary, Tucson, North Oracle and West Miracle Mile, with Rabbi Samuel Cohon of Temple EmanuEl officiating. Interment, Temple Emanu-El Section, Evergreen cemetery.

VIDETTI, Thomas J., 83, passed away October 10, 1999. Survived by wife, Anna Videtti; daughters, Diana Videtti and Patricia Getch. No services will be held.

WALTER WONG, 81, died October 10, 1999. Survived by his wife, Jane; children, Julie Louie, Peter Wong, Karen Wong, Bonnie Knight and Andrew Wong; grandchildren, Brian, Jared and Taylor Louie, Abby, Ethan, Casey and Annalise Wong, Megan, Colson and Spencer Knight, Jacob and Emily Wong; brothers, George Wong and Frank Wong; sister, Sui Lan Chung. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 1999 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., where funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 1999, with Rev. David Chan officiating. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms cemetery.

BERMUDEZ, Genoveva G., 88, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away October 12, 1999. preceded in death by husband, Manuel R. Bermudez; daughter, Esther 'Coty' Gonzales. Survived by daughter, Socorro B. (Rudy) Rivera; son, Manuel G. (Elma) Bermudez. Also survived by nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14, 1999 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Friday, October 15, 1999, 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. Genoveva was the daughter of Casimiro and Antonia Gallego. They were of a pioneer family who settled here in Tucson in the late 1800's. Our beloved Mother and Nana has passed on to eternal life but her spirit will remain with us until we meet again. We love you. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.
