REDDING - Joseph Fernandez, 75, of Redding died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at his residence.

Private family services will be conducted.

Born March 26, 1925, in Honolulu, he moved to Shasta County in 1966 from Modesto.

He was the owner and operator of Rainbow Carpet Dyeing and Cleaning in Redding, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Showboat Golf Club in Redding.

Survivors include son Stephen of Redding; daughters Patricia Parker of Palo Cedro and Debi Kandybe of Redding; sisters Emily Smith of San Francisco and Phyllis Souza of Honolulu; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Larry Jones
OCEANO - Former Redding resident Larry Andrew Jones, 53, of Oceano died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at his residence following a short illness.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.

Born July 1, 1947, in Coronado, he lived in Redding for 28 years. He moved to Oceano in 1998.

Survivors include life partner Linda Hamel of Oceano; mother Betty Brogoitti of Redding; sons Christopher Matthews and Jason Stanish, both of Redding; daughters Jennifer Jones-Hill and Rebecca Jones-Hill, both of Redding; brothers Chuck Jones, James Brogoitti, Jerry Brogoitti and John Brogoitti, all of Redding; sisters Carolyn Baides and Linda Garza, both of Redding; and one granddaughter.

Memorial contributions can be made to any charity supporting hungry families.

Arrangements are being handled by Lady Family Mortuary in Arroyo Grande.

Jason Joyce
REDDING - Jason Jude Joyce, 30, of Redding died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at his residence.

No services will be conducted.

Born June 13, 1970, in Manhasset, N.Y., he moved to Shasta County in 1995 from Fremont.

He was a laborer for a landscaping company.

Survivors include brother Brenden of Fremont; parents James and Judith, both of Fremont; and grandmother Dorothy Doherty of Fort Myers, Fla.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Angelo Pialorsi
REDDING - A Mass of Christian burial for Angelo Anthony Pialorsi, 54, of Redding will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Redding.

Monsignor Russell Terra of the church will officiate.

The vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Burial will be at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery icon in Arcata.

Mr. Pialorsi died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at Redding Medical Center following a short illness.

Born Sept. 30, 1946, in Eureka, he moved to Shasta County in 1986 from Arcata. He was an owner and operator of Arcata Pump Co., a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arcata.

Survivors include wife Lois; daughters Lara Pialorsi-Thompson of Redding, Tonia Pialorsi-Hunt of Redding, Alisa Hoover of Middletown and Teresa Dressler of Puyallup, Wash.; sister Rose Morgan of Arcata; mother Elsie of Arcata; and six grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Barbara Woodfill
REDDING - Barbara Henninger Woodfill, 88, of Redding died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at Redding Medical Center.

No services will be conducted.

Burial will be at Happy Valley Cemetery icon in Anderson.

Born June 27, 1912, in San Francisco, she moved to Shasta County in 1916 from San Francisco.

She was a teacher at Enterprise and Shasta high schools and a member of the California Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include daughter Martha Rubin of Moraga; stepson Larry of Shasta; stepdaughters Janet Suter of Shasta, and Linda Emery and Judy, both of Seattle; half sister Ruth O'Donnell of Santa Barbara; stepmother Jo Dozier of Anderson; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Katherine Phillips
RED BLUFF - Services for Katherine "Katie" Swain Phillips, 96, of Red Bluff will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Red Bluff Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Tim Soule of the church will officiate.

Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery icon in Red Bluff.

Mrs. Phillips died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at Lassen House Residence in Red Bluff.

Born March 23, 1904, in Red Bluff, she was a lifelong resident of Tehama County.

She was a choir member, former deaconess and lifetime member of Red Bluff Presbyterian Church, served on the Presbyterian State Association, a charter member of Kelley-Griggs House, worked for Jones Jewelry and J.C. Penney, and helped organize the Pink Ladies at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.

Survivors include sons George and Jim, both of Red Bluff; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 3290 Bechelli Lane, Redding, CA 96002.

Arrangements are being handled by Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers in Red Bluff.

Roberta Freidenfelt
REDDING - Graveside services for Roberta Agnes Freidenfelt, 73, of Redding will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eastlawn Cemetery icon in Sacramento.

Mrs. Freidenfelt died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at her residence.

Born June 21, 1927, in Sacramento, she moved to Shasta County in 1992 from Sacramento.

She was a homemaker, an American River Hospital Pink Lady, and a member of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps during World War II.

Survivors include husband Eugene; sons John of Nevada City, Jim of Susanville, Michael of Crescent City, and David of Sacramento; daughter Gail Kentroti of Orangevale and Cathy Koch of Redding; brother Jim Wight of Sacramento; sister Florence Edelstein of Seattle; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society at 3290 Bechelli Lane, Redding, CA 96002 or at 1765 Challenge Way Suite 115, Sacramento, CA 95815.
