REDDING - Margaret Jane Teel, 77, of Redding died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.

Private family services will be conducted.

Burial will be at Glen Oaks Memorial Park in Chico.

Born May 3, 1923, in Long Beach, she moved to Shasta County in 1986 from Crescent City.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.

Survivors include sons Arthur of Redding; daughter Linda Dewberry of Corning; one granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Arminta Ballou
REDDING - Services for Arminta "Alice" Ballou, 92, of Redding will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Tabernacle Assembly in Redding.

The Rev. Richard James of Destiny Fellowship in Redding will officiate.

Mrs. Ballou died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Beverly Healthcare Center in Redding.

Born Nov. 19, 1908, in Vermont, she moved to Shasta County in 1985 from Oxford, Ga.

She was a licensed vocational nurse.

Survivors include son Rodney of Redding; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Ruth Lauderdale
REDDING - Services for Ruth May Lauderdale, 93, of Redding will be at 3 p.m. today at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Anderson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. today at the chapel.

Burial will be at East Lawn Sierra Hill Memorial Park in Sacramento.

Mrs. Lauderdale died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Redding Medical Center.

Born Sept. 5, 1907, in Camino, she moved to Shasta County in 1970 from Sacramento.

She was a homemaker, a member of Redding Christian Church, a 50-year member of the Rebekah Lodge and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include husband Bill; son Mel Havill of Fullerton; stepson Stan of Anderson; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Anderson.

Monty de la Montanya
REDDING - Graveside services for Monty de la Montanya, 64, of Redding will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Dunsmuir Cemetery, with a memorial reception to follow at the Glass House, 4221 North Siskiyou St. in Dunsmuir.

Mr. de la Montanya died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at SunBridge Care Center for Redding.

Born May 12, 1936, in Red Bluff, he moved to Shasta County in 1998. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad and AAA Towing, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include companion Estella Cox of Redding; sons Mark and Robert, both of Springfield, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of America, 406 W. 34th St., Kansas City, MO 64111.

Arrangements are being handled by Anderson's Chapel in Anderson.

Ben Hurst
REDDING - Services for Ben Byron Hurst, 86, of Redding will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

The Rev. Jeff Frost of All Saints Episcopal Church in Redding will officiate.

Mr. Hurst died Monday, April 9, 2001, at his residence.

Born Dec. 5, 1914, in Westboro, Mo., he moved to Shasta County in 1966 from Lebanon, Mo. He was a physician, a Shasta County health officer, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Shasta County Search and Rescue, the American Medical Association and the Flying Physicians.

Survivors include daughters Janis Uhalde, Peggy Sutterfield and Kathleen Burwell, all of Redding, and Patricia McLead of Woodstock, Conn.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimers Treatment and Research, Ramsey Foundation, 640 Jackson St., Saint Paul, MN, 55101-2595.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Melvin Fago't
REDDING - Services for Melvin William Fago't, 69, of Redding will be at 10:25 a.m. Thursday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Palo Cedro.

The Rev. Michael Brannan of Mercy Medical Center in Redding will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the chapel.

A vigil will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery icon in Redding.

Mr. Fago't died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at his residence.

Born July 18, 1931, in Fargo, N.D., he moved to Shasta County in 1981 from South Lake Tahoe. He was a driver for Viking Import in Redding and a U.S. Army paratrooper in the Korean War.

Survivors include wife Sonya; sons Steve and Vince, both of Redding; daughters Michelle Bliven of Reno and Lisa Nobriga of Redding; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 3290 Bechelli Lane, Redding, CA 96002.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Jean Wilson
REDDING - Graveside services for Jean Elise Wilson, 80, of Redding will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.

Mrs. Wilson died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at the Golden Rose Care Facility in Redding.

Born July 10, 1920, in Manitoba, she moved to Shasta County in 1945 from Oakland.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Women of the Moose in Redding and the Redding Women's Bowling League.

Survivors include son John of Redding; daughter Joyce Buck of Salt Lake City; brother Joseph Conrad of Winnipeg, Manitoba; sisters Irene Hirt, Gurtrude Desotelf, and Isbel Gardin, all of Winnipeg; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 3290 Bechelli Lane, Redding, CA 96002.
