BEDDARD

Rochelle Linda Beddard

Rochelle Linda Beddard died peacefully at her home on June 22, 2000, after a six-month battle with cancer. She was 49.

Born April 23, 1951, in Los Angeles, she grew up in Whittier and lived in Davis for the past 10 years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Dennis; her children, Scott, 20; Amy, 18; and Alexis, 16; her mother, Ethel Jaffe of Sacramento; and her mother-in-law, Shirley Jeffrey of Vacaville.

She was first and foremost a devoted mother, wife and homemaker. When her children were older, she obtained a real estate license, was trained to be a loan officer by Vicki and Greg Fulkerson, worked for Kristen Joppich and most recently worked in the First Northern Bank Real Estate Division.

Her life was devoted to supporting her children in their activities, her church activities and to her many clients. She was active in various parent groups such as the PTA and Theater Wings, and was a member of Soroptimist International of Davis.

Those who knew her were always impressed by her energy, and her ability to juggle home, work and community activities.

She was a good cook and a seamstress, had a tremendous sense of humor, and was a true professional in her work. She will be greatly missed by many.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Davis First Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, West Eighth Street and Elmwood Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, North Valley Region, 350 Alhambra Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95816.

MARQUEZ

Jacinto Acuņa Marquez

Jacinto Acuņa Marquez died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 21, 2005, in an automobile accident. He was 16.

Family visitation will be this evening with interment to follow at Panteon Municipal in Tepache, Mexico.

Born Sept. 26, 1988, to Carmen and Margarita (Acuņa) Marquez, he resided there until moving to Madison with his family. He was a Yolo County resident for the past seven years, and was a sophomore at Esparto High School.

He is survived by his parents, Carmen and Margarita Marquez of Madison; and a brother, Jesus Marquez of Madison.

He is further survived by his uncle, Pedro Marquez of Tucson, Ariz.; his aunt, Ramona Marquez of Tucson, Ariz.; and his grandparents, Jacinto and Maria Jesus Marquez of Mexico.

Evergreen Funeral Service of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

MARQUEZ

Theodore "Theo" or "Ted" J. Marquez

Theodore "Theo" or "Ted" J. Marquez died in Woodland Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005 at age 80.

Mr. Marquez was born Nov. 9, 1925 in San Francisco del Rincon, Guanajuato, Mexico. He had been a Yolo County resident for 76 years. He attended Grafton Elementary School in Knights Landing and Woodland High School. During World War II he was a private first class in the U.S. Army. He fought in the Rhineland, Central Europe, Ardennes and received the American Campaign Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, World War II Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was self-employed farmer in Sutter Basin, Yolo area for 34 years. In addition he was a co-owner of the family's day care Ð Kiddie Country Daycare - for 20 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles for 5 years; American Legion for 50 years, Holy Rosary Church for 46 years; NRA for three years, CA Farm Bureau and Sutter Basin Farmer's Co-op.

Survivors include Mr. Marquez's wife of 42 years, Lupe C. Marquez of Woodland; his daughters, Lupe L. Mendes and Barbara V. Densmore both of Woodland; his son, Leo T. Marquez of Los Angeles; his grandchildren, Corey Mendes, Justin Mendes, Matthew Mendes all of Woodland and Ariana Marquez of Los Angeles; his sisters, Jessie Bonilla and her husband Ed, Catie Owens, Vicki Marquez and Toni Robles, all of Sacramento, Trini Flippo of Woodland and Anita Marquez of West Sacramento; and his brothers, David Marquez and Larry Marquez and his wife Helen of Woodland, Al Marquez and his wife Queenie of Sacramento and Fred Marquez and his wife Linda of Garden Valley. He was preceded in death by his son, Ben J. Marquez in 1992, his mother, Eleanor Marquez in 1992; and his father Benito Marquez in 1995.

Services: A vigil and rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland with Father John Boll officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery where military honors will be presented. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.

MARSDEN

Mary Evelyn Marsden

Mary Evelyn Marsden died in her Old Station home of natural cause Friday, April 5, 2002, at age 77.

Born April 7, 1924, in San Francisco, Mrs. Marsden had been a Woodland resident for 43 years. She worked for Redwood Theaters Inc. managing the State Theatre in Woodland.

Mrs. Marsden is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Marsden of White City, Ore.; son, William Marsden of Sacramento; sister, Alda Bostwick of Sacramento; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted privately in Eagle Point National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Ore.

The family requests memorials be directed to Haven Humane Society, P.O. Box 2202, Redding, 96099.

McDonald's Chapel of Burney is assisting the family with arrangements.

MARSHALL

Abel 'Abe' Marshall

Abel "Abe" Marshall died peacefully at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento on Dec. 7, 2003, following complications from a Nov. 16 fall. Born Jan. 17, 1918, in Chico, he was 85 years old.

Although he was raised in Chico, he spent the past five years in Davis with his daughters.

The three passions in his life were his family and heritage; the Chico Elks Lodge, where he was a member since 1956; and his work in the film and motion picture industry. He served many years as union president of the International Association of Theatrical and Stage Employees of Northern California.

His work in the film industry and on movie locations started when he was 18 years old, a recent graduate of Chico High School. He was a "gopher" for the 1936 filming of "Robin Hood" in Chico Bidwell Park and ended with "Ishi, The Last of the Yahi" in the late 1970s.

In celebration of his 85th birthday, a living history was compiled and shared with friends and family. He was cherished, always nearby with a willing and helping hand or smile, his family says.

"He warmed your deeper self, " his daughter says.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rilla Marshall; brother, Stanley Marshall; father, Manuel, born in Pico, Azores, Portugal; and mother, Minnie, born in Cherokee, Calif.

He will be missed by his family, including daughter Dorothy Peterson and her husband Allan of Davis, daughter Cynthia White and her husband Jim of Colusa, and son James Marshall and his wife Melody of Chico; grandchildren, Brian Peterson and his wife Molly and their children, Hannah and Ellen of Coupeville, Wash.; Stephanie Davis and her husband Don of Folsom; Matthew White and his wife Stori and their children, Bobby and Kennedi of Rio Rancho, N.M.; Bryce Marshall and wife Lisa of Charlotte, N.C.; and Tiffany Marshall of Chico; and families of nephews Roger and Lance Marshall of Chico.

A memorial and celebration of his life will take place at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at Chico Elks Lodge No. 423 in Chico, 1705 Manzanita Ave.

Family members request remembrances or donations be made in his name to a charity of the donor's choice.

MARSHALL Jr.

William H. Marshall Jr.

William H. "Bill" Marshall Jr. of San Mateo died March 24, 2002, in Burlingame after a brief illness. He was 78.

He was born on Sept. 26, 1923, in Bellefonte, Pa. He was a graduate of State College High School in State College, Pa. He was also a Pacific Theatre combat veteran of World War II in Okinawa.

He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Burlingame. He was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America, the Lamb Award from the Lutheran Church and the George Meany Youth Service Award. He was also a Girl Scout Troops adviser in San Mateo County.

He is survived by son William H. Marshall III; daughter-in-law Nina K. Marshall; and grandchildren Will P., Susan G. and Stephen R. Marshall. All survivors reside in Davis.

A memorial service for friends and family took place Saturday in San Mateo.

Interment will begin for family members only Friday at San Joaquin National Cemetery in Gustine.

Remembrances may be sent to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 301 Burlingame Ave., Burlingame, CA 94010 or to the donor's favorite charity.

MARTIN

Alfred (Al) Henry Martin

Alfred (Al) Henry Martin died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at age 82, at Woodland Memorial hospital.

Mr. Martin was born of Dec. 10, 1919, in Benicia, to Manuel and Mary Martin. He married Joy C. Patterson of Vallejo on April 18, 1942. This year would have been their 60th wedding anniversary.

Family members reported that Mr. Martin loved fishing, crabbing and clam digging. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife to Canada, Mexico, Hawaii and across the United States. They also traveled in a trailer to Bodega Bay and Tamales Bay.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Joy, of Woodland; daughters, Dianna Sheppard and her husband Doug of Salt Lake City, Utah, Carol Stewart and her husband Tom of Sacramento; and son, Alfred Martin and his wife Betty of Oregon.

Other survivors include daughters Dianna Sheppard and husband Doug of Salt Lake City, Utah, Carol Stewart and husband Tom of Sacramento; son Alfred Martin and wife Betty of Oregon.

Also surviving are grandchildren Cindy Gray and husband Rick, Janet McLelland and husband Shane, Sheila Merrigan and husband Steve, all of Utah, Christopher Martin of Sacramento, Buck Martin of Oregon, Scott Stewart and wife April, and David and Seth Stewart of Sacramento; great-grandchildren Shawna Goudswaard of Utah, Shane Goudswaard and wife Jennie of Texas, Michael and Josh McLelland of Utah, Jeremy Shipler and Samantha Merrigan of Utah, Cailin and Ashlyn Stewart of Sacramento.

Also surviving are brothers, Melford Martin and his wife Mary, Filbert Martin and his wife Annie; sisters, Bernice Carlton, Marcil Caudle, Pauline Corduca, Frances Schooler, Beverly Swearington and husband Dee, Ilene Fawns and husband Dave, Charlene Von Hoffman and husband Bob, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers. Richard, Gus, and Walt Martin; sisters. Myrtle, Mapolo and Josephine Reeves and Laverne Adolpho.

As per his wishes, no services will be held. The family will announce a memorial service at a later date.
