CALORI

Alfonso "Al" Victor Calori

Alfonso "Al" Victor Calori died from complications of pneumonia, Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Sierra Health Care Convalescent Hospital, Davis at age 86.

Born June 8, 1915, in Davis, Mr. Calori remained a resident of Davis in his entire life. He was the son of Bernard and Angelia Calori. He served during World War II in Algeria French Morocco and was instrumental in the invasion of Italy. He received many medals and commendations as a result of his devoted service. He was also very active in the VFW here and was well known for his acts of kindness and generosity. He was employed by UC Davis for 50 years as a foreman in the grounds department. In 2001, he received an award for his many years of devoted service to the University.

Mr. Calori is survived by his daughter, Claudia Sjoen and husband Michael; sister, Eleanor Candelo and husband Elmo; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Calori; grandchildren, Veronica and Steven Sjoen, and Angela and Christopher Calori; nieces, Shirley Watkins and Michele Gaul; and nephews, John and Leo Candelo, Mark and Paul Gaul.

Visitation is scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at St. James Catholic Church, 14th and B streets in Davis. The rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m.; following the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with the committal to follow at Davis Cemetery, 820 Pole Line Road, Davis.

Davis Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

CALTON

Robert N. Calton

Robert Noah Calton died on Feb. 14, 2000.

Born on Feb. 18, 1961, in Oakland, to Darrell D. and Shirley C. Calton of Davis, he was 38.

He graduated from Davis High School in 1979. He entered the U.S. Coast Guard in 1986 and was on active duty in San Diego upon his death.

He was devoted to his family, was faithful and full of integrity, family members said. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his infant brother, John S. Calton in 1965.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Calton; three children, Dallas A.N. Calton of Davis, Danessa R.L. Calton and Staccia L.A. Calton, both of Rancho Palos Verdes; his parents of Davis; sister, Leanne Peruch of Citrus Heights and her husband, Scott; grandparents, Frank Fredericksonof Heyward and Sylvia Calton of Sacramento; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James Standefer of Springfield, Ill., and Sheril Van Sant of Pahrump, Nev., and her husband, William; and niece, Amber N. Peruch of Citrus Heights.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Davis. Visitation will be at noon until the time of the service. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in the Davis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to The Robert Calton Memorial Fund, Account No. 44799, care of The Golden One Credit Union, 508 Second St., Davis, CA, 96515.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Davis Funeral Chapel.

CALVERT

Catherine Mary "Kay" Calvert

Catherine Mary "Kay" Calvert, age 77, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at her Winters home following a brief illness. Born on May 9, 1927 in Groton, Connecticut to Italian immigrant parents Dominic and Annunziata (Franco) Cedio, Catherine married Billy Gene Calvert in 1946 and together they raised five children. She was a homemaker for over 50 years, and resided in Napa County from 1962 until this year.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Aultman of Yelm, Washington, sons Donald Calvert and wife Traci of Winters, and Billy Gene Calvert and wife Sharon of Lacey, Washington. She also leaves daughter-in-law Rosemary Calvert-Conley, grandchildren Bonnie Mott, Jennifer Chadwick, James Calvert and Jody Aultman all of Napa, grandchildren Andrea Blake, Caitlin and Austin Calvert of Winters, Bryan Calvert of Ventura, Christine Calvert and Kathy Chaidez of Washington, and John Calvert of Colorado. She also leaves behind 11 great grandchildren, close friend Jackie Cole, and her beloved dog, Jaydee.

Preceding her in death was her husband Bill, sons Vincent and John, as well as son-in-law Marvin Aultman.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for Monday, March 28, from 4-8 p.m. at Kay’s home in Napa.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Yolo Hospice in her memory. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Evergreen Funeral Service of Woodland.

CAMACHO

John G. Camacho

John Gilbert Camacho died Feb. 25, 2001. Born Aug. 6, 1932, in Sacramento, to the late Jesus G. and Lola Camacho, he was 68.

He was a resident of Yolo County for 34 years. He served in Korea with the U.S. Marine Corps in 1951 and 1952. After the war he worked a design draftsman for 36 years working for MacKay and Somps in Sacramento.

Camacho was a member and past commandant of the Marine Corps League, Woodland Detachment, and was a member and past commander of the American Legion Yolo Post 77, as well as being active in the Charlie Company C11 reunions. He was a parishioner of the Holy Rosary Church.

He is survived by his wife, Arleen Camacho of Woodland; seven children, Paul Camacho and his wife Ellen of South Lake Tahoe, Sue Horn and her husband Buzz of Woodland, David Camacho and his companion Joanna of Sacramento, Ron Camacho and his wife Mollie of Woodland, Nancy Lansburgh and her husband Richard of Woodland, John Camacho and his wife Lisa of Woodland, and Anne Saunders and her husband Jason of Woodland; a daughter-in-law, Sonia Marrach of Sacramento; grandchildren, Katie and Cricker Camacho of South Lake Tahoe, Andy and Adam Horn of Woodland, Anthony, Edward, Benjamin and Sarah Camacho of Sacramento, John Camacho of Woodland, Richard, Alex, Anne Marie and Sarah Lansburgh of Woodland, Kelli, Emily and Casey Camacho of Woodland, and Kyle and Mary Saunders of Woodland.

He is also survived by a brother, Art Camacho, and two sisters, Sally Renteria and Alice Trejo of Sacramento.

A vigil will be held at the Holy Rosary Church on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The funeral mass is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Church, with interment to follow in the Veterans Section of the Woodland Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1040, Davis, CA 95617.

McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

IMMOOS

Marcia Hope (Lee) Immoos

Marcia Hope (Lee) Immoos died Monday, May 20, 2002, at age 65.

Born April 3, 1937, in Hanna, Wyo., Mrs. Immoos was the daughter of Mark and Edith Lee. Prior to her short stay in Cottonwood Healthcare Center, she was an eight year resident of Palm Gardens, Woodland. Here she enjoyed visits from her family and friends, crafts and cards. According to her family members, "she will be remembered most for her friendly smile and eternal optimism."

Mrs. Immoos is survived by her daughters, Carol Witham of Davis and Deborah Espinal of Woodland; son, Mark Witham of Dixon; grandchildren, Marie Espinal of Woodland, Kayla and Carly Hodges of Colusa; and sister, Lorraine Moore of Antioch.

A family memorial service was held on Saturday, May 25, at Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors Chapel, Woodland, followed by an open house hosted by her daughters.

PEAK

Kenneth 'Ken' Steven Peak

Kenneth "Ken" Steven Peak died in his Oroville home Saturday, May 1, 2004, at age 57.

Born March 23, 1947, in Los Angeles, he had been a Yolo County resident for about 38 years. He attended Esparto High School and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 1968. He and his wife owned and operated Peak Fence Company, in Oroville, since 1993.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy; parents, Ken and Judy Peak of Yuba City; sons, Kenneth Peak and wife Heather of Puyallup, Wash., and Corey Peak of Oroville; daughters of the heart, Elizabeth Peak of Indiana, and Jennifer Duzan of Placerville; grandchildren, Bethany and Steven Peak of Puyallup, Wash., and Shawn and Heather McBride of Placerville. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Patty Peak of Elk Grove, Joe and Lauren Peak of Ellensburg, Wash., and Al Peak of Rumsey; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karron Sue and Paul Wills of Orangevale, and Julie and Vanus Bigelow of Woodland; and many nieces and nephews.

The family requests memorials be directed to the charity of choice.

Services: A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Calvary Chapel, 3723 Ashley Avenue, Oroville.

PEARSE

Charles C. Pearse

Charles C. Pearse passed away on Jan. 3, 2006. He was born in Woodland, to Rufus and Mary Heard Pearse on Sept. 15, 1914.

Charles lived in Winters, for 84 years, raised by Bertha and Bill Young. He graduated from Winters High School and attended U.C. Davis. He worked for P.G.& E. for 40 years. He farmed his small 5-acre ranch and was an avid gardener and fisherman. He was a member of the Winters Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Rose Walters Pearse; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Justine Pearse; five grandchildren, Carolyn Heines and her 2 daughters, Luci and Molly; Tom and Adrienne Pearse and daughter Juliana; Scott Pearse; Steve and Melissa Pearse and daughters Mikayla and Cassandra; Joey Pearse; Step-Children, Joe and Sharon Walters; Kathleen and John Ford; Mike Walters and Tim Walters; step-grandchildren, Tim; Nick and Ashley and stepgreat- grandchildren, Sebastian and Damian Walters; Brother, Bob Pearse and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marjorie Walters Pearse; brother, Elmore Pearse and step-daughter, Patricia Walters.

A Rosary was held on Friday, Jan. 6, 2006 at St. Anthony Catholic Church at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006 at 11 a.m., also at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Winters Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Yolo Hospice: P.O. Box 1014 Davis, CA 95617 or St. Anthony Building Fund or Alter Society: 511 Main Street Winters, CA 95694.

Charles C. Pearse (2nd of 2 obits.)

A Rosary for Charles C. Pearse will be held on Friday, January 6 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Winters. A Funeral Mass will be said on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. Mr. Pearse was born on Sept. 15, 1914 and passed away on Jan. 3, 2006.
