KIVLEY

C. Raymond "Ray" Kivley

Ray Kivley died unexpectedly of heart failure on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, while at Sutter Davis Hospital. He was 50.

Friends are invited to a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D St.

Born Nov. 25, 1954, in Redding, he was raised in Redding where he graduated from high school. He worked as a self-employed information system architect who specialized in custom financial software. His clients included Chevron, car rental agencies and many other large corporations. He was well respected in his field and appeared on the cover of Computer World Magazine. He was a Davis resident for the past nine years.

He was described by his family as a devoted family man. His pastimes included cribbage, poker and golf.

He was preceded in death by his father Gerald Kivley in 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Kivley of Davis; his mother, Anna R. Kivley of Redding; and his daughter, Ava Rae Kivley and step-daughter Alexa Bridge, both of Davis.

He is further survived by his sister, Kathy Kivley of Madera, and niece Kristana Pitzonka.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.

DANCY

Amy Sargent Dancy

Amy Sargent Dancy passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, Aug. 31, 2005 at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego at the age of 45 years, after a long and very courageous battle with cancer.

Amy was born on Nov. 4, 1959 in Sacramento. She attended local schools, graduating from Woodland High School in 1977. She worked at the Yolo Federal Credit Union for many years until moving with her husband to San Diego 12 years ago. She continued in the banking field at the Navy Federal Credit Union. Her great loves were her family, the out of doors and her horse and dogs.

Amy is survived by her husband Corey Dancy of San Diego and stepson Jimmy Dancy of Goose Creek, S.C. Also surviving are her parents Daryl and Nancy Sargent of Woodland and, dear sister, Sally Oliver and husband Brian of Cloverdale, as well as aunts and cousins.

There will be a private burial. A celebration of Amy's life will be held on Friday, Sept. 9 at the Hotel Woodland courtyard at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice or the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family requests memorials in Mrs. Dancy's name may be made to or the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Sacramento Valley Affiliate, 2443 Fair Oaks Blvd., PMB 223, Sacramento, 95825 or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Services: A celebration of Mrs. Dancy's life will be held at 3 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 9 at the Hotel Woodland courtyard, 436 Main St. A private interment will be held at Cottonwood Cemetery. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

DANIELSON

Morris Bennett Danielson

Morris Bennett Danielson died of cancer Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at age 87.

Born Dec. 24, 1914, in Dassel, Minn., to Ole and Laura (Berg) Danielson, Mr. Danielson was the tenth born of 12 children. He resided in Woodland for more than 60 years and was employed by Pacific Gas and Electric Company where he retired in 1976. Prior to that he farmed in Yolo County for many years and was the owner of Engine Parts and Machine in Woodland. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church of Woodland, a 62-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a 40-year member of the BPOE Elks.

Mr. Danielson is survived by his daughters, Janice Hoagland and husband Terry of Woodland, Susan Brugh and husband Michael of Davis and Pamela Hunter and husband Steve of Woodland; son Lewis Danielson and wife Sylvia of Portland, Ore.; and grandchildren, Michael Marcum and wife Sharon of Woodland, Aimee Danielson of Portland, Ore., Christy Herr of Woodland, Bret and Jared Hunter of Chico, and Melissa and Leanna Brugh of Davis.

He is also survived by his brother, Leonard Danielson of Waconia, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Danielson was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Adeline (Addie) on April 2, 1996; a son, Gary Danielson; a grandson, Stanley Kipker; his parents, Ole and Laura (Berg) Danielson; sisters, Clara, Tena, Mabel and Violet; and brothers, Oscar, Harry, Walter, Levi and Clifford, all of Minnesota and Evald of Woodland.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at Kraft Brothers, 175 Second St., Woodland.

Service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at the American Lutheran Church, 1114 College St., Woodland, with interment to follow at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.

The family requests memorials be directed to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617; or The American Lutheran Church.

Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

DANZERO

Andrew Eugene Danzero

Mr. Andrew Danzero passed away on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001 at Cottonwood Health Care in Woodland. Born on January 7, 1919 in Joliet, Illinois, he was 82 years old.

Mr. Danzero was raised in Joliet, Illinois and graduated from Joliet High School and Joliet Junior College. After Junior College he attended and graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign. He served in the United States Navy from 1940 to 1945 during World War II. He has been a resident of Winters for the past 44 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Lions Club. He was a Cub Scout Master and 4-H Leader. He was on the Apricot Advisory Board and a member of the producers association. He was past president of the Farm Bureau, the Winters School District and the Free Stone Peach Association. Mr. Danzero was also a member of the Winters Cemetery District Board.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Danzero of Winters, and his two sons Andy Danzero of Sacramento and Fred Danzero of Ventura. He leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, March 2, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Winters Cemetery, 415 Cemetery Drive in Winters.

Remembrances may be made in his name to the Winters Health Care Association, 23 Main Street, Winters, CA or the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith's Colonial Chapel in Winters.

DaRE

Maria Anna DaRe

Maria Anna DaRe passed away on Oct. 1, 2003. Born on April 23, 1906, she was 97 years old.

Born in Brazil, Maria moved to Italy at two years of age, where she spent her formative years. She followed a brother to the United States in Pennsylvania in 1924, where she met and married her husband Silvio. Along with their first two sons, they moved west in 1929, where she was a resident of Crockett until 1999 when she left to live in Winters with her daughter, Gina.

A beloved mother and friend to all, everyone who knew her, loved her. She lived for making others happy and laughter was the music of her life. Her motto was "Better to laugh than cry."

Maria is survived by her daughter, Regina and her husband Joe Ogando, of Winters; sons of Mario and his wife Beatrice of Sierra Madre, Louis and his wife Susan of Glendale; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Silvio and her sons Aldo, Guido, Dante, Dino and her granddaughter, Taryn.

Funeral services were held the weekend of Oct. 5. Maria was buried icon by her husband Silvio at St. Joseph's Cemetery in San Pablo.

DARST

Edith M. "Tedi" Darst

Edith M. "Tedi" Darst died Feb. 1, 2004, at the age of 87.

She was born May 2, 1916, in Bellefonte, Pa., one of three children of Harry and Maude Mann. In the 1930s, she and her family moved to Anniston, Ala. After graduating from Anniston High School in 1934, she attended Alabama State College for Women in Montevallo for three years.

In 1937, she came to California alone on a bus with nothing but a suitcase in her hand to join her sister Lou in Los Angeles to attend UCLA. She met her husband Bob at a beach party arranged by her sister and Bob's sister-in-law. The two were married Feb. 3, 1940.

She earned her bachelor's degree in education from UCLA in June of that year.

In 1943, their first child was born, and her husband was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Forces and stationed in England. After his discharge, the couple had two more children and moved to Garden Grove, where she taught for 10 years.

During the 1970s, she took a clerical job at the Tustin Library and eventually moved to Tustin. After her retirement, in 1986, she and her husband moved to Davis to be closer to their family.

Throughout her life, she had many pastimes that she shared with her family, including fishing, swimming, reading good books and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed taking trips with the Davis Travelaires and the many activities at the Davis Senior Center.

She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her, her family said.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Darst, on Dec. 3, 1996; her son, William E. Darst; and her two sisters, Susan Darch and Louise St. Clair.

She is survived by her son, Robert A. Darst and his wife Dee of Vista; her daughter, Susan L. Darst of Davis; her grandchildren, Matthew Darst of Panama City, Fla., Narayana Darst of Vista and Anne Marie Darst of Davis; and Bernelle Lovett and Marion Harvey, additional family members.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church of Davis, 1620 Anderson Road. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Chapel.
