CLARK

John Jonas Clark

John Jonas Clark died on Feb. 16, 2006. He was 85 years old.

A remembrance memorial in the Wawona Pioneer Center at Yosemite National Park will be held at a later date.

Born on March 6, 1920, in Gilroy, he was the son of Dr. John A. Clark, a noted Gilroy physician.

He served in World War II in the Army 184th Infantry California National Guard in the Pacific campaign from the Aleutian Islands to the Philippines, where he was wounded on the island of Leyte. He received many medals, including the Combat Infantry Badge.

He lived in Davis for 10 years.

He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite and Shriners. He was affiliated with the Purple Heart Veterans Association, VFW, AARL, the Yosemite Association and the Yosemite Fund.

He worked as a docent and guide for more than 20 years in Yosemite Park at the Wawona Living History Village, where he portrayed Cavalry Maj. Harry Copeland Benson, the acting superintendent in 1905.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; his daughter, Kathleen Chavez and her husband Jack; his son, John Clark and his wife Barbara Nichols; his sister, Cornelia Lovejoy; grandchildren, Lisa Baxter and husband Bruce, Kristina Wyatt and husband Craig, John Christopher Chavez, Jennifer Clark, Julie Clark and step granddaughters Dale Taormino and her husband Jason, Marijke Melman and her husband Enny, and Yoly Strove; numerous nieces and nephews; and two great-grandsons.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Yolo Hospice, Yosemite Fund, Yosemite Association or any charity of choice in his name.

CLARK

Lois Eva Clark

Lois Eva Clark died at Alderson Convalescent Hospital Monday, Feb. 14, 2005 at age 92.

Mrs. Clark was born April 20, 1912 in Terril, Iowa. She graduated as valedictorian from Blooming Prairie High School in 1930. She graduated from Abbot Hospital School of Nursing in Minnesota in 1935. She has worked in the Woodland Clinic and Sutter Hospital as registered nurse and also worked as an industrial nurse at Rocketdyne in Canoga Park until her retirement.

Survivors include Mrs. Clark's daughter, Maxine I. Berben; her granddaughter, Amy N. Garcia and her husband Danny; her great-grandchildren, Jordan L. and Jerrett M. Garcia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Max K. Clark and her sisters, Margaret R. Cantrell and Kathryn O. Klingbeil.

The family requests memorials in Mrs. Clark's name be directed to Alderson Convalescent Hospital, 124 Walnut St., Woodland 95695.

Services: Respecting the wishes of Mrs. Clark, private services will be scheduled. Inurnment will be at Woodland Cemetery. All Faith Cremation is assisting the family with arrangements.

CLARK

Mary Clark

Mary Clark passed away on Jan. 16, 2005. Born on June 17, 1953, she was 51 years old. She is survived by her husband, Howard Clark, and children Alisa and Russell Clark, all of Winters; brothers Glen Burch, of Petaluma, and John Burch and his wife, Jeannie, of Woodland; and Rita Fleehart, of Lacey, Washington. Services will be held at the Winters branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Thursday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m.

CLARK

Michael Gary Clark

Michael Gary Clark died in Woodland Friday, Jan. 28, 2005 at age 64.

Mr. Clark was born April 26, 1940 in San Francisco. He had been a life-long Yolo County resident. He attended Woodland schools and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was employed by Eaton Drilling.

Survivors include Mr. Clark's wife, Claudine; his daughter, Terrie Drewry and her husband Dave; his sons, Steven and his wife Pat and Chris and his wife Lora; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Alexander, Jordan and Christian Clark, Michael J. Clark, Erin Delacy, Meghan and Andrew Hillstron, Cody and Melissa Westergard and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lana and Edward Clark and his sister, Darlene Cook.

The family requests memorials in Mr. Clark's name be directed to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Inurnment will be private. McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

CLARK

Perry Richard Clark

Perry Richard CLARK, longtime Winters resident, passed away peacefully at his home on April 17, 2004. Perry was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on Jan. 20, 1927. Perry attended school in Gooding, Idaho, along with his siblings Vashti and Jay Dee.

Perry joined the United States Navy in 1945 and set sail on the U. S. Langley. The Langley sailed to Italy as well as the Panama Canal and Pearl Harbor.

Perry met his lifelong sweetheart Jeannine Delores Warren in 1946. After a whirlwind courtship they were married on Sept. 6, 1947. They made their first home in Gooding. Perry and Jeannine moved to Winters in 1949. Perry became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1961. Perry and Jeannine were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1962. Perry's profession was a truck driver, which he held for 56 years. Perry and Jeannine raised five children, Virgil Stanton Clark, Connie May Crum, Lorna Christine Button, Jeanie Marie Martinez and Larry Richard Clark. Perry and Jeannine enjoyed 56 years of marital bliss and enjoyed traveling with family and friends. They visited New Zealand, Alaska, Australia, Mexico and Canada, as well as many states in the U. S.

Perry is survived by his wife Jeannine, his five children, sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother May Sedonia Schooler, his father Albert Stanton Clark and his brother Jay Dee Clark.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to Yolo County Hospice.

A viewing was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, on Tuesday, April 20.

The funeral was held on Wednesday, April 21, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 435 Anderson Avenue, in Winters.

CLARK

Robert Elmer Clark

Robert Elmer Clark passed away at the David Grant Medical Center in Fairfield, on April 8, 2000, after a short illness. Born Dec. 4, 1938, he was 61 years old.

Mr. Clark was a resident of Winters, and was a United States Navy Flight Engineer for 20 years. He was a member of the Eagles-Mountain View, the American Legion and Fleet Reserve.

Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Pauline, of Winters; brothers, Donald, of Rio Rico, Arizona, Richard, of Simi, Raymond, of Sisseton, South Dakota and Warren, of Upland; sisters Mary Howard of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Sandra Howard of Henderson, Nevada.

At his request, no services were held. Inurnment will be private.

Arrangements were handled by the Vaca Hills Funeral Chapel.

CLARK

Ronald L. Clark, Sr.

Ronald L. Clark Sr. went to be with the Lord Monday, January 12, 2004. Ron had loving care at Courtyard in Davis for several months. He was 68. There will be a memorial service for Ron at Gateway Chapel, 2nd and Main Street in Winters at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 17.

Ron was born in Hastings, Iowa on July 30, 1935 to William Clark Jr. and Elma Mae Clark. He joined the Marines and served in the Korean War. He later stationed in El Toro, California. He was an officer with the Brea Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff Department. He later had his own patent with pre-fab fireplaces.

Ron moved to Northern California and became an excellent troubleshooter in the water and well business. He drilled wells, worked at Bruhn Pump Co. and eventually opened his own business as Clark Water Service. He loved helping people. He would often work seven days a week just so no one would be "out of water." He retired in 1998 because of illness.

For sixteen years, 1982-1998 Ron was a member of the Winters Volunteer Fire Department, serving as Captain of the Volunteer Department during the last few years of his tenure.

He loved fishing, hunting and mostly being with his friends. He loved his family and always wanted to help make their lives better.

Ron was first married to Maryanne and had two daughters, Christinia Grubbs, now living in South Lake Tahoe with her husband Jim, and Barbara Tengesdal, now living in Bismark, North Dakota with her husband Jeff.

Ron married again to Laurine and had four children, Jimmy, who lives in LeMoore, California with his wife Marlene, Kimberly of Winters, Ron Clark, Jr. who is married to Ellen, and Stephen Clark. Laurine preceded Ron in death in 1984.

Ron married Patty Brinsley in 1987, who has two sons, Randy Brinsley of Winters and Michael Brinsley of Sacramento.

Ron is survived by many grandchildren: Summer Cox of Iowa, and her new baby, Mackenzie, Ron's great-grandchild; Jenna and Thomas Grubbs of South Lake Tahoe; Joren and Britta Tengesdal of Bismark, North Dakota. Tony and Trista Clark, Jason and Christie Anne Brinsley, all of Winters.

Ron is also survived by his brother, Frederick Clark and Frederick's wife Joan of Santa Ana, California and his sister, Kathy Burleson and her husband, Grady of Perris, California.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend the Gateway Chapel service.
