CASTILLO

Ricardo Lepro Castillo

Ricardo Lepro Castillo died in Woodland, Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004 at age 82.

Mr. Castillo was born in Sahuaripa, Sonora, Mexico, Feb. 4, 1922, and had been a Yolo County resident for 40 years. He worked as a farm laborer and contractor for 25 years and was a member of the Charros Association La Regional. In addition, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include Mr. Castillo's wife, Marta Castillo; his daughters, Rosa Amelia Castillo and Mercedes C. Estevez and her husband Hugo; his sons Richard Castillo and his wife Donna, Alex Castillo and his wife Muzette Rautiainens. He is also survived by his granddaughters April Olmos and Lizzette Estevez and grandsons Rudy Olmos, Richard Anthony Castillo and Jacob Olmos. He was preceded in death by his parents Alejandro Castillo and Mercedes Lepro.

Services: A vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 7, at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St. The funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Interment will follow the service at Woodland Cemetery. McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

CASTO

Ronald Casto

Ronald Casto died at Courtyard Healthcare, Davis Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at age 50.

Born July 31, 1953, in Galliopolos (Gallipolis), Ohio, Mr. Casto has been a Yolo County resident for over five years.

Arrangements are under the direction of North Sacramento Funeral Home.

Services: Ashes placed in veteran's plot at Woodland Cemetery.

CASTRO

Marie Castro

Marie Castro went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 4, 2004. Born on Feb. 3, 1926, in Fairfield to John and Isabel Fernandez, she was 77 years old. She married George Castro on Nov. 25, 1945. After residing in Redwood City for 21 years, they returned to Winters in 1961 to purchase and farm the family ranch. Marie retired from Mariani Nut Company after many years of employment. She enjoyed being with family and friends, some of her hobbies included taking long walks, rides through the countryside, gardening, floral arranging, and especially sharing her love in Jesus Christ.

Marie is survived by her husband George, daughters Anita Melville, of Sacramento, and Nancy Gonnella, of Winters; son Joseph Castro, of Winters; grandchildren Michael, Danielle, Joey, Autumn, Raven, Nicole, and Cale. A service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at New Life Family Church, 315 Edwards Street, in Winters.

Contributions may be made in her name to "Focus on the Family, " Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80995, and the Winters Assembly of God Building Fund, 315 Edwards Street, Winters, CA 95694.

CATLIN

Carol Lee Catlin

Carol Lee Catlin died on Feb. 20, 2005. after a long illness. She was 72 years old.

Born in California on Nov. 19, 1932, she was raised in Beverly Hills, and resided in Davis since 1951. She came to Davis to pursue her love of horses through the UC Davis equestrian program. She met and married Peter Bostwick Catlin and raised three boys.

After working for UC Davis' Shields Library for 25 years, she retired in 1992. Pursuing her lifelong passion for animals, she worked as a docent for the Sacramento Zoo. As an ardent jazz music lover, she volunteered her time for many years at the Sacramento Dixieland Jazz Jubilee.

Her family says her love of gardening kept her content and happy. She was also described as an incredible cook. Her illness did not prevent her from preparing wonderful holiday feasts for the family during her last years. Her close group of friends helped her maintain her desire for independence.

She was preceded in death by her brother, William Carewe of San Anselmo; and a sister, Sally Allen of La Quinta.

She is survived by her children, James Catlin of Walnut Creek, David Catlin of San Jose, and Donald Catlin of Fairfield, Conn.; and six grandchildren.

CAUDLE

Jack F. Caudle

Jack F. Caudle died peacefully in his home on Oct. 23, 2001, after a long illness. Born May 24, 1927, in Modesto, he was 74.

He was a public accountant and successful businessman in Sacramento. He owned the Yolo Club in West Sacramento from 1974 to 1987. He was also a member in good standing of the Washington Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons of California. He was a longtime resident of El Macero, where, as an avid golfer, the only thing he enjoyed more than spending time on the links was being with his family and friends. He was a man of dignity, honor, strength and love. He will be sorely missed by those whose lives he graced.

He is survived by his wife Arlene, son David and daughter-in-law Kathy of Columbus, Ohio, son Warren and daughter-in-law Cami of Hercules, daughter Lenore of Sacramento, and sisters Elaine Haskin and Martha Schlander of Modesto. He will be missed by many more friends and family.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday at El Macero Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Yolo Hospice.

CAUGHRON

Pamela Dawn Caughron

Pamela Dawn Caughron died in Casper, Wyo., Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, at age 34.

Born March 11, 1968, in Bakersfield, Ms. Caughron was the daughter of Robert Leo Caughron and Marilyn Joan Bridge. She resided in Bakersfield; Billings, Mont.; Woodland and Casper, Wyo. She was a volunteer for the Self Help Center in Casper. According to her family members, "she was a devoted mother. She loved cooking and crafts. She also loved swimming and being outdoors. As a child she was involved in gymnastics in Billings, Mont."

Ms. Caughron is survived by her twin sons, Brandon and Bradley Green; twin daughters, Kelli and Kayla Sisco, all of Casper, Wyo.; fiancee, Mick Sisco, also of Casper, Wyo.; mother, Marilyn Bauer and stepfather, Wayne of Woodland; brothers, Robert Caughron of Billings, Mont. and Douglas Caughron of South Dakota; sister, Sandra Deistler and husband of Apple Valley, Minn.; stepsisters, Danielle Davis and husband of Sacramento and Angelique Trongo and husband of Woodland; and numerous aunts; uncles; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1995; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A service was conducted on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Casper, Wyo. 82601, with Pastor David J. Taylor of The Church of God of Prophecy officiating. Cremation has taken place.

The family requests memorials be directed to Ms. Caughron's children in care of Mick Sisco, 1405 East 18th St., Casper, Wyo., 82601.

Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory of Wyoming assisted the family with arrangements.

CAYGILL

Alex Caygill

Alex Caygill died at his home in Woodland Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004 at age 83.

Mr. Caygill was born Nov. 10, 1920 in England and had been a Yolo County resident for 15 years. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1938 and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Pi Fraternity. During World War II he served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a chief machinist's mate. He was a past member of the Elks, and Kiwanis Richmond Chapter. He was also a member of the Belles and Beaus Square Dance Club and St. John's United Church of Christ.

Survivors include Mr. Caygill's wife of 12 years, Lela Caygill, also of Woodland; sons, David Caygill of Vacaville and Chris Caygill of Green Forest, Ark.; six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and his sister, Mary Lightfoot of Australia. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Vaught.

Services: A memorial service is scheduled for noon, Monday, Oct. 4, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 434 Cleveland St., Woodland. A private burial will be held at Monument Hill Memorial Park. McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

CEARLEY

Dearrel F. "Curley" Cearley

Dearrel F. "Curley" Cearley died with his wife at his side in Seneca District Hospital, Chester, Saturday night, Aug. 10, 2002, at age 81.

Born Jan. 6, 1921, in Hotsprings, Ark., Mr Cearley was the son of the late Jesse and Mary Lewis Cearley. He was raised in Geary, Okla. He served his country during World War II in the European theater and the Philippine Liberation as a member of the U.S. Army where he was a special vehicle operator with the 1301st Engineers. Following his discharge from the military he went to work for AC Transit in the South Bay area working for them for 19 years. Following his retirement he purchased the Knights Landing Sports Center which he operated for 25 years. According to his family members, "he was an avid outdoorsman and a passionate sturgeon fisherman. He was admired and sought after by many of his fishing expertise of the Knights Landing area and was a longtime Sacramento River sturgeon record holder." He moved to Chester in June of 1992 following the sale of his business. He had been a longtime member of the Knights Landing Sportsman Club.

Mr. Cearley is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancie Cearley of Chester; children, John of Yuba City, Sandra Thomas of Carmichael, Jerry and David, both of Knights Landing, and Jan Cearley-Smith of Woodland; brothers, Denver of McKinney, Texas, and Farris of Pinole; sisters, Hazel Crause of Knights Landing, Norma Lusk of Amarillo, Texas, Maxine Purser of Yukon, Okla. and Iris Chacey of Norman, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Following cremation at Fehrman Crematory in Quincy, a celebration of Mr. Cearley's life along with military honors was conducted Thursday, Aug. 15, at the graveside in Chester District Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be directed to the Long Term Care Unit of the Seneca Health Care District, c/o Fehrman Mortuary and Crematory, P.O. Box 803, Greenville, 95947.
