Kazimierz Medrek
Suddenly on May 3, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre at the age of 70. Beloved husband to Krystyna. Loving father to Bozena and her husband Andrzej and Jolanta. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Iga and Josephine. Survived by his sister Maria Taboroski and brother and sister in Poland. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Monday from 6-9 p.m. Rosary Monday Evening 8:15 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 6, 2003 at 10 a.m. from St. Teresa’s Catholic Church (10th Street). Interment Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Peter Rizun
After a lengthy illness, Peter, in his 73rd year, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Health Centre on Wednesday, May 7, 2003. Loving husband of Stella. Dear father of sons Mike and Peter. Dido to grandchildren Steven and Madison. Predeceased by his daughter Christine who passed away at age 10 in 1970 and his grandson Jake who passed away October 1998. Also predeceased by his younger sister Olga Tataren who passed away in 2000. Survived by brother Nick (Julia), sisters Elsie (widow of John Sudeyko) and Victoria (widow of Walter Morhan). Peter will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, many relatives and friends. Resting at the Ridley Funeral Home, 14th Street and Lakeshore Blvd. West. Visitation Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service Friday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment following the Service at Glendale Memorial Gardens.

Richard Nadeau
Peacefully on May 9, 2003, with loved ones by his side, at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre in his 59th year. Beloved wife Sharon and extended loving family. Survived by daughter Judith, grandchildren Michelle and Stephen, and sisters Louise (Bob) and Janet. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. Evelyne Gilpin
Surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 17, 2003, Evelyne started her journey home to be with her family. She is now at peace. Predeceased by her loving husband Martin. A loved and cherished mum, that will never be forgotten by her daughters Garland and Marlene and son-in-laws Stewart and Gary. A greatly loved nana to Kim, Karen (Ken), Debbie, Kristie (Doug) and white nana to great-grandsons Cory, Jack, Tyler, Dylan and Michael. And a special guardian grand-doggy Murphy. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. Bela Franc
Peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at the age of 73. Loving husband of Olga. Cherished dad of Brian (Susan) and Sylvia. Loved dearly by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm & 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at 10 am. Interment Assumption Catholic Cemetery.

Richard Fraser
On May 19, 2003, Richard Fraser, dearly beloved son of Marilyn and loving brother of Constance, Michael, Jennifer, James, Melinda, Victoria and Christopher. Friends will be received at St. Hilary’s Anglican Church, 2055 Hurontario St., Mississauga on Monday, May 26th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 27th from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. Donations to St. Hilary’s Church, marked to Environmental Fund, would be appreciated.

Charles Lewis
Peacefully on May 20, 2003, in his 85th year. Beloved husband to Lorraine. Loving father to Chuck, Don, Helen, Jeannie and the late Judy. Proud Grandpa to 19 grandchildren. Nora Julia Nuytten (nee Masschelein)
(September 20, 1915 – May 20, 2003) Peacefully in her sleep at St. Joseph’s Health Centre. Nora will be missed by her dear daughter Christine (John), her son-in-law Ron Adams, her beloved grandsons Mark (Angela), Bradley (Jeannette) and Darryl Adams, her treasured great grandchildren, Matthew, Sumer, Katelyn and Kyle, Curtis and Samantha and Julia Adams and her nephews Daniel (Doreen), George (Rolande) and Ronald (Lydia) Masschelein. She has been reunited with her dearly beloved husband Alois, her daughter Anne Adams and her grandson Wade Adams. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre for their excellent care. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Complete service in the chapel Saturday at 11 a.m. Cremation. Janusz Olszowka
Born in Poland on May 10, 1953, died in Mississauga, Ontario on May 24, 2003 at the age of 50. Left behind his loving wife Teresa. Dear daughter Beata and son-in-law Piotr. Loving son of Joseph and the late Bronislawa. Brother of Rysiek, Heniek, and Bronislaw. He will be sadly missed by many family and friends. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Rita Kirkpatrick-McLatchie
Peacefully at Humber River Hospital during a short courageous battle with an illness, Rita was lost in the early hours of Thursday May 29, 2003 in her 81st year. She will be greatly missed by son Garry Kirkpatrick and daughter Diane Monaco. Adored by loving grandchildren; Shaun, Wade, Sherilyn, Michele, Gerry, Shannon, Kimberley and 8 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her selfless human nature, her sense of humour, her strength and her passion for life. She will be missed by all those who were blessed with knowing her. Suddenly on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, age 71. Predeceased by his wife Ottilie (Stieber). Beloved father of John & Marilyn, Frank & Stefne and Otti & Peter. Proud grandfather of Luke, Risa, Katrina, Karlie, Jake, Tess, Carson and Tara. Loved brother of Maria, Ani, Ivan, Paula & and brother-in-law to Frieda & Janko Kokal and Malka Kastelic. Born in Slovenija, Slovenska vas at Brezice. Peacefully at Dom Lipa on Sunday June 1, 2003 at the age of 96. Beloved mother to Mirko and his wife Teresa. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Al and his wife Susanne and Susan and her husband Brian. Will be sadly missed by her great grandchildren Priscilla, Alana, Kevin, Courtney and Taylor. Suddenly at her home on Monday, June 2, 2003 in her 78th year. Dear sister of Anica (Australia) and her husband Slavko Tomsic, the late Frank Tomsic (December 2002), and sister-in-law Dora. Predeceased by her sister Tina and brothers Miha and Tone. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Martha Lewis (Barrie), Anita Marn (Toronto), Edward and Frank Tomsic (Australia) and Vilma Ferguson (Dubai) and their families. Dora “Patricia” Morgan (nee Bishop)
After a long illness with cancer Patricia passed away at Princess Margaret Hospital on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the age of 56. Sadly missed by her husband Henry and children Stephen and Linda. Loving sister to Frances Parsons of Bay Roberts, Nfld., and Eleanor Parsons of Lumsden, Nfld., and the late Clifford Bishop of Hibb’s Cove Nfld. Loving daughter of the late George and Annie Bishop of Hibb’s Cove, Nfld. A special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Princess Margaret Hospital, Palliative care unit. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. Jean Hye Young (nee Lee)
Shortly after celebrating her 89th birthday, Jean passed away at her long time home in New Toronto/Long Branch on Friday, June 6, 2003. Born on June 2, 1914 in Stratford, Ontario, she was one of five children. Sibling to the late Sidney Sady Lee, Jean is survived by 2 sisters, Bo Hye Pang and Mae Wong, and by her late brother John’s wife, Mae Lee. A faithful widow to Louis Young since 1945, she was a devoted mother and will be missed dearly by her four children – Dorothy and husband Harry Law, Marlene and husband Morley Lem, Carol and husband Herman Wong, and Robert Young and his wife Shirley. She will be fondly remembered by her six grandchildren whom she was very proud of – Michael and wife Connie, Marcus, Matthew, Michelle, Debra and husband John, and Andrew, and by her great-granddaughter Kaitlyn. Always talkative and fond of story telling, Jean will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Sanctuary Park.
