Entered into rest eternal March 23, 2007, Ruth Pascarella, 81, of 1700 South Main St., Cheshire. Widow of Henry J. Pascarella; mother of Carol (Charles) Crawford of Hamden, Brenda (Joseph) Finoia of Cheshire, Karen (Tony) Paris of Wisconsin, Anna (Lenny) Russell of Hamden, Henry D. Pascarella of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Rocco (Barbara) Iezzi of Hamden and the late Patricia Iannotti. Sister of Mildred Oravetz of Pearland, Texas, Edward Allen of New York City and the late Peggy Ainsworth and Walter T. Allen. Ruth is also survived by 17 grandchildren.

She was born in New Haven on August 31, 1925, a daughter of the late Walter R. and Anna Bella Smith Allen. Ruth was a former waitress at Colonial Diner in Hamden.

Funeral services and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450, or to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St., East Hartford, CT 06108. Arrangements in care of Hamden Memorial Funeral Home.

Ethel Emma Martin

Entered into rest eternal March 19, 2007, Ethel E. Martin, 73, of 89 North Lake Drive and formerly of Dixwell Avenue, Hamden. Mother of Paul Wellington Suprono Jr. of Washington, D.C., Debra Alice Bell of Norwich, Ethel Garcia of Hamden, William Martin Suprono of West Haven and the late Dennis Martin. Grandmother of Ashley Emma Bell of Norwich and William Robert Garcia of Hamden. And sister of Erna Frieda Suprono and her husband Jack of Killington and the late Alice Kolle.

Born in New Haven on March 1, 1934, Ethel was a daughter of the late William and Emma A. Twies Martin. Former wife of the late Paul Suprono Sr., Ms. Martin is also survived by several cherished nieces and nephews. She was worked at St. Raphael’s hospital as a switchboard operator before enjoying her retirement as an avid gardener. Ethel had a great love for her friends, her pets and nature.

Friends may call at Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Ave., on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society, 788 Amity Road, Bethany, CT 06524.

Elizabeth E. Festa Wronki

Entered into rest eternal March 8, 2007, Elizabeth E. Festa Wronki, 84, of 745 Main St., Hamden. Widow of Ernest P. Wronki; mother of Laurie (Anthony) Salvati of Northford, Paul Conklin of Northford and Gregory Conklin of Wallingford; sister of Agnes Rossetti O’Shea of Windsor, Ronald Rossetti of North Haven and the late Ann Berlepsch, Jenny Baffoli and Albert Festa.

Born in Branford on Aug. 17, 1922, Elizabeth was a daughter of the late Phillip and Philomena Thomas Festa. Elizabeth was employed by the Hamden Public School System as a cafeteria manager for 27 years before her retirement in 1990. She was also a member of the Ridge Road Seniors Club and a very active parishioner of the Ascension Church. She was proud to have been the winner of two state of Connecticut bakeoffs.

Funeral in Hamden Memorial, 1300 Dixwell Ave., Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Ascension Church at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Burial will take place in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
