Brian Jones
Brian Keith Jones, born March 10, 1956, in Hartford to the late McClendon and Mary Brown Jones, died suddenly, Wednesday, (May 23, 2001) in Sacramento, CA. Brian was a lifelong resident of Hartford and attended Hartford Public School system. Mr. Jones was a former employee of Pratt & Whitney and Hartford Cable Television. He leaves to mourn, four sons, Brian Jr., Wilmington, DE, Jamal, McClendon, and Rashaud Jones, all of Hartford; five grandchildren; five brothers, Abdul Beyah, New Haven, Wayne Jones and wife, Dasiey, Savannah, GA, McClendon Jones and wife, Pat, West Haven, Bradford Jones and wife, Karen, Manchester, Gordon Jones and wife, Linda, Hartford; seven sisters, Beverly Bailey, Sacramento, CA, Myrtle Oden and husband, Woody, San Diego, CA, Yvonne Baidy and husband, Earl, Springfield, MA, Maxine Clabon and husband, James, and Noreen Jones, of Hartford, Leatrice Jones, Bloomfield, and Glenda Jones-Burns and husband, Edward, Bridgeport; two aunts; a host of nephews, nieces, and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Rodney Jones. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, June 1, at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, with calling hours from 12-1 p.m. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield.

DRESSLER, Ida (Klepak)
Ida (Klepak) Dressier, 91, wife of the late Albert S. Dressier of Windsor died Friday, (May 25, 2001) at a local convalescent home. Born in New York City, February 7, 1910 to the late Morris and Sophie (Lundy) Klepak she was brought up in Springfield, MA and moved to Hartford in the early 1930's before moving to Windsor in 1966. She is a member of the Congregation Beth AHM Synagogue in Windsor, a member of the Musical Hatters, Golden Fellowship in Windsor and was a past President of the Fifty Five-0 Club. She leaves a son, Martin Dressier and his wife Allene of Enfield; a sister Pauline Smith of Clear Water, FL; three grandchildren, Jennifer Menaker and her husband Craig of Enfield, Lori Zabik and her husband Michael of West-field, MA, and Robyn Dressier of Suffield; five great-grandchildren, Kevin, Jason, Kyle, Katelynn, and Samantha, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Albert and parents Morris and Sophie she is also predeceased by a son Gerald Dressier; two sisters, Rosalie Cohen and Beatrice Weinberg, and two brothers Julius and Joseph Klepak.
A graveside service will be Sunday, May 27, 1 1 a.m. at the Hartford Mutual Cemetery, East Granby. Her family will receive friends at the home of Martin and Allene Dressier through Tuesday.

HEPNER, Philip H.
Philip Haynes Hepner, 65 of Suffield, beloved husband of Claudia (Gardner) Hepner, died Wednesday, (May 23, 2001) in Kobe, Japan. Born in Trenton, NJ, son of Emily (Redfearn) Hepner of Windsor and the late Leonard Hepner, he graduated from Lawrenceville School, Princeton, NJ, received his BS degree from Yale University in 1957 and his MS degree from Case Western Reserve in 1965. Philip was employed as a professional engineer at Combustion Engineering, ABB Westinghouse and was a nuclear consultant engineer with CDI in Kobe, Japan. He was a longtime member of the American Nuclear Society Facilities Standards Committee. He was a member of the Southport Yacht Club, Southport, ME, the Suffield Paddle Club and a former member of the Suffield Zoning Board. Besides his wife and mother, he leaves a son, Robinson H. Hepner of Suffield; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ruth Hepner of Wilmington, NC; a nephew, Richard and his wife, Angie Hepner; a niece, Deborah and her husband, Arthur O’Connor; and a sister-in-law, Sylvia Gardner of Rochester, NY. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 31, 11 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church, 100 North Main Street, Suffield with the Rev. Paul Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Suffield. His family will receive friends at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East Street, Suffield Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Elizabeth "Betty" A. Adams
Elizabeth "Betty" A. Adams, 89, of Largo, FL, died Tuesday, (May 15, 2001) at Largo Medical Center. She was born on January 20, 1912, in Chicago, IL, to Rev. Selden C. and Iva (Bedell) Adams. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. She was owner and president of Burrell Insurance General Agency in Hartford and later worked as executive secretary for movie actress Katharine Hepburn for 24 years. Betty was a member of First Church of Christ Congregational in West Hartford and was a charter member of the National Secretaries' Association in Hartford. She was also a member of PINAWOR and Friends of the Library, both in Largo, FL, and the Senior Citizens' Services in Clearwater, FL. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Joanne Layburn Williams of Glastonbury; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Kimberly and Jonathan Layburn; four stepsons; 16 step-grandchildren; ten step great-grandchildren; and a niece, Ruth (Adams) Wilson. She was predeceased by a son, Donald H. Layburn. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 2, at 11 a.m., at the Granby Cemetery, at the intersection of Rte. 20 and Rte. 189, in Granby Center. The Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, Granby, has care of arrangements.

McDONALD, William F.
William F. McDonald, of Enfield, husband of Catherine (McGee) McDonald, died Saturday, (May 26, 2001) at home. Family and friends may gather Wednesday, 9 a.m., at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. (Rte. 159), Suffield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, Enfield. Burial will be in Enfield Street Cemetery. His family will receive friends TODAY, from 6-9 p.m., at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Felician Sisters, 1315 Enfield St., Enfield, CT 06082.

Evelyn Scott (McRobbie) Paterson
Evelyn Scott (McRobbie) Paterson, 91, of Windsor, wife of the late Andrew Wallace Paterson, died Sunday (May 20, 2001) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Dundee, Scotland to the late John and Annie Duffy McRobbie, she moved to the United States and lived in Springfield, MA before moving to Windsor in 1951. She was a member of the Wilson Congregational Church, Windsor. She leaves two loving daughters, Janice Wiggins and her husband, Jefferson, of New Fairfield, and Joni Paterson of Springfield, MA; a sister, Marion Chamberlin of Pensacola, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will he held Wednesday, May 23, 11 a.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Springfield, MA. There will be no calling hours. Donations in Evelyn's memory may be made to the Windsor Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 155, Windsor, CT 06095 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

SOBOTA, Mary (Walsh)
Mary (Walsh) Sobota, 73, beloved wife of Emery Sobota of Bloomfield, died Friday, (May 18, 2001) at her home. Born in Bellows Falls, VT, daughter of the late, John and Mary (O’Brien) Walsh, she lived in Hartford before moving to Bloomfield over 40 years ago. Mary was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Bloomfield. Besides her loving husband of 43 years, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John E. and Elizabeth Sobota of East Granby; two grandchildren, Melanie and Stephen Sobota of East Granby; and a sister and brother-in-law, Elnora and William Haas of Wallingford. Family and friends may gather Monday, May 21, 9:15 a.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., in Sacred Heart Church, Bloomfield. Interment to follow in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 4-6 p.m. Memorial donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield, CT. 06002.

STANLEY, Donal R.
Donal R. Stanley, 72, of South Windsor, beloved husband to Margaret (Hanson) Stanley, died Monday, (May 14, 2001) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Farmington, ME, son of the late Clarence and Beryl Stanley, he lived in Hartford before moving to South Windsor 34 years ago. Donal served with the U.S. Navy during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a 1950 graduate from Bliss Business College, Lewiston, ME. Before he retired in 1986, he was employed by Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford, for 35 years. He was an active member of the South Windsor Square Dance Club. Besides his wife, Margaret, he is survived by a sister, Doris Stanley of Durham, NC; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joseph C. and Robin Petrie of East Hartford, Michael P. Petrie of South Windsor and David E. and Luetta Petrie of Epping, NH; seven grandchildren, Jeannette, Suzanne, Daniel, Dennis, Kristin, Josh and Jasmine; a great grandson, David Michael; a brother-in-law and his wife, John E. and Carolyn Hanson of Wichita, KS. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, with military honors. His family will receive friends TODAY from 4-7 p.m. and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Lucille Marlow
Lucille Marlow, 79, of Hartford, wife of the late Bossie Williams, died Sunday, (May 13, 2001) at a local convalescent home. Born in New York, NY, daughter of the late Mary (Goode) Baker Jackson, she lived in Newport News, VA, before moving to Hartford 50 years ago. Before retiring in 1988, she was employed by the Institute of Living for 26 years. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Evelyn and Chester Woffard of Windsor, Ethel and Carl Smith of Vernon; six grandchildren, Arthur Williams of Windsor, Tony Williams of West Hartford, Cheryl Astwood of Ellington, Lynnette Wright of LeGrange, GA, Wanda Smith of Manchester and Carl A. Smith of Vernon; a nephew, Freddie Lee Baker; and a host of other relatives and friends. Lucille was predeceased by a son, Freddie Lee Williams, and a sister, Marie Smith. A memorial service will be Friday, May 18, 11 a.m. in the chapel at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will be at the convenience of her family.

O’CONNOR, Michelle Lynn
Michelle Lynn O’Connor, 24, beloved daughter of Gerald and June (Beecy) O’Connor of Bloomfield, passed away Friday, (April 27, 2001) at 9:15 a.m. in San Francisco, CA. Michelle graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1995. She earned her Bachelors of Fine Art from the Massachusetts College of Art in 1999, graduating with honors in painting. Michelle was also active in drama and poetry. In 1995 she was one of twelve Young Poets chosen in a statewide competition to read her work at the Sunken Gardens Poetry Festival. In 1998 she was included in a CD compilation of poetry and spoken word pieces. After college, she moved to San Francisco, CA to start her life and pursue her art. She was beginning to experience success as an artist, selling works to individual collectors and institutions. Besides her parents she is survived by her brothers, Patrick and Robert O’Connor of Brooklyn, NY; her paternal grandmother, Frances O’Connor; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Emily Beecy; and various O’Connor, Beecy, Olsons, Lukinas and Hulmes. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 5 in the chapel at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Bloomfield. Michelle’s family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Arthouse, Fort Mason Center, Building C, Room 255. San Francisco, CA 94123.
