Mariangela (Eccellente) Porcaro

WATERTOWN - Mariangela (Eccellente) Porcaro, 77, of Watertown passed peacefully with her family by her side at Charlotte-Hungerford Hospital in Torrington on Saturday, August 15, 2015. She was the wife of the late Nicholas L. Porcaro.
Mrs. Porcaro was born in Waterbury April 18, 1938, daughter of the late Dominic and Angeline (Giannelli) Eccellente. She was a graduate of Wilby High School and the University of Connecticut.
Mrs. Porcaro was the former Director of Food Services for the City of Waterbury and also was the school Dietician at both Wilby and Kennedy High Schools. She was a member of the Waterbury Columbiettes, and the American Business Women’s Association.
Mrs. Porcaro is survived by her 2 daughters, Cassandra Porcaro-Roach and her husband Edward of Watertown and Adrianni Porcaro of Los Angeles, CA, 6 grandchildren, Katie, Brittaney, Brandon, Oceanna, Nicholas, Megan, and 3 great grandchildren, Anna, Angie, and Madison.
She was predeceased by her sister, Sally Ann Eccellente.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 9 a.m. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. to St John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main Street, Watertown for a Mass at !0 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, August 17 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Judith M. Bannon

WATERTOWN - Mrs. Judith M. Bannon of Watertown died peacefully August 3, 2015 at the Vitas Inpatient Unit at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Robert K. Bannon.
Mrs. Bannon was born in Waterbury April 22 1947, the daughter of Mrs. Eleanor (Coleman) McNamara and the late John L. McNamara, she was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury.
Born and raised in Waterbury, Mrs. Bannon graduated with a bachelor's degree in education, as well as a master’s in education from WCSU, and also earned her 6th year from UB. She became an elementary teacher in the Waterbury School system at Sprague school for 34 years. She was a former member of Junior League, student teacher mentor, as well as a member of Alpha Beta Kappa; women’s education and honorary organization. In 1994, she was recognized in Who's Who of educational excellence.
After retirement in 2003, Mrs. Bannon loved spending time with friends, joining a bowling and setback league, as well as meeting for lunch at Charcoal Chef. She loved to read and play scrabble, a former member of Watertown Golf Club, she enjoyed playing golf, as well as scrap booking, shopping, and taking day trips. With all of her accomplishments, and activities, she always remained passionate about taking care of her family and loved her pets wholeheartedly.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Bannon, a sister, Joan Jannelli her husband, Ray Jannelli and their daughter Erica Jannelli of Waterbury.
The family would like to thank the staff at Waterbury Hospital, Glendale Center, Yale New Haven Hospital, and Vitas Hospice Care at St. Mary's hospital.
Funeral Mass will be at held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 12 Ardsley Road. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Glendale Center, 4 Hazel Drive, Naugatuck, CT, 06770 or Vitas Hospice Care, 56 Franklin Street, Waterbury, CT 06702.

Jane (O'Loughlin) O'Connor
Devoted Wife and Mother

WATERBURY - Jane (O’Loughlin) O’Connor, 83, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Village at East Farms in Waterbury. She was the widow of Maurice (Moe) O’Connor.
Born in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Bernard and Bertha O’Loughlin, Jane graduated from Hopeville Grammar School and Wilby High School. She worked for several years as an operator at the Southern New England Telephone Company before dedicating her time to raising her four children. She was also a former member of the Waterbury Faculty Wives Club, where she developed many special friendships.
Jane was a supportive and devoted wife, a caring mother and grandmother, a proud aunt, and a lifelong friend to many in the Waterbury area.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Ann Hanley and her husband, Michael, of Bristol, and Noreen Berger and her husband, Jeffrey, of Waterbury; two sons, Francis O’Connor and his longtime companion, Emily Cortese, of Waterbury, and Sean O’Connor and his wife, Sheila, of Cheshire; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Samantha, and Danielle O’Connor; Christopher and Connor Berger; and Patrick O’Connor; one great grandchild; a brother-in-law, Francis O’Connor and his wife, Sylvia, of Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Nancy O’Connor, of Bethel; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Rita Siegmann and Ruth O’Leary.
Jane was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.
Arrangements: Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. to Blessed Sacrament Church, 182 Robbins Street, Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Old St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling Hours are on Friday, August 7, from 4 – 7PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in Jane’s memory may be made to: Hartford Healthcare at Home, “The Hope Team, ” 50 Brookside Avenue, Waterbury, CT 06708.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Village at East Farms, as well as the Hartford Healthcare at Home, “The Hope Team, ” for their dedication and kindness.

Frank A. Chicoine

WATERBURY - Frank A. Chicoine, 68, of Bristol, formerly of Waterbury died Monday, June 22, 2015 at Bristol Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Lucille (Northrop) Chicoine who died on July 29, 2014.
Frank was born in Waterbury December 12, 1946 son of the late Lucien and Marie Mae (Capino) Chicoine.
Frank was an ironworker and boilermaker having worked at various companies over the years. He was a former member of the Waterville Community Club, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
Frank is survived by his 2 daughters, Noel Chicoine Normand and her husband Thomas of Wolcott, and Stacy Valentine and her husband Michael of Bristol, 3 granddaughters, Alyssa and Emily Valentine, and Kasey Normand. Also his brother, Walter Chicoine and his wife Marie of Attleboro, MA, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Morrisey.
Mr. Choicone’s family would like to thank the ALS Association of CT Chapter for their support.
Funeral will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 9 a.m. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. to St. Margaret Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Joseph E. Conway

WATERBURY - Joseph E. Conway, 81, of Waterbury died Monday February 9, 2015 at Wolcott View Manor & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Rooney) Conway.
Mr. Conway was born in Waterbury February 21, 1933 son of the late Francis H. & Theresa (Esposito) Conway. He was educated in Waterbury schools and was an avid baseball player in his younger days. He was honorably discharged from the US Navy having served on active duty from September 1952 until June of 1954.
He worked in the commercial print business for over 28 years before working for Mercury Fuel for several years before retiring. In his early work career her worked for the Civil Engineering Department in the City of Waterbury and was also an assistant manager for The Fulton Markets.
Joe enjoyed bowling and bowled with the City Bowling League, the CL&P league and the Smaller Manufacturers League. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church, was a former lector at the parish and worked on the fundraising campaign for the new church when it moved to Bucks Hill.
Survivors include: his sister, Mary C. Reynolds of Thomaston; two brothers: John V. Conway of Waterbury and William C. Conway and his wife Valerie of LaPorte TX; a son, Thomas Conway and his wife Peggy of Myrtle Beach, SC; a daughter, Dianne Murphy and her husband Paul of Waterbury; a grandson, Ryan Conway of Myrtle Beach and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by: his sister, Elizabeth A. Conway and his brothers: Frank H. Conway, Jr., James W. Conway and Michael F. Conway.
The funeral will be Wednesday February 11, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. to St. Michael Church, 62 St. Michael Dr., Waterbury for a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Terryville in the spring. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 8:15 a.m. until 9:15 a.m.

Frances June Sutton

WATERBURY – Mrs. Frances June (Miller) Sutton, 95, of Waterbury died Sunday February 15, 2015 at Apple Rehab after a brief illness. She was the widow of Robert F. Sutton.
Mrs. Sutton was born in Waterbury on June 24, 1919 daughter of the late John & Frances (Brown) Miller and graduated from local schools including St. Francis Xavier Grammar School and Post College, Class of 1939. She retired from the City of Waterbury where she worked as a secretary in the Public School System for many years. She later worked at the Waterbury Easter Seals for several years and volunteered at the gift shop at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Mrs. Sutton enjoyed arts and crafts and making ceramics. She especially enjoyed her nights out with the girls for rug hooking. She was a devout Catholic and a communicant of Our Lady of Loreto Church. She loved cats and was a supporter of the Animal Rescue Foundation.
Her family would like to give special thanks to George and Dyanne Telesco, Karen Rosenbeck, Lydia Rutkowski, Patti Freemantle, Dorthea Palladino, Dr. Leslie Coopersmith and the staff of Apple Rehab in Watertown.
She is survived by 1 son, John Sutton and his wife Nancy of Branford, four nephews, John Dibble of Florida, Alan Dibble and his wife Doris of Florida, Mark Dibble and his wife Elaine of Watertown, and Gary Dibble and his wife Pat of California. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her sister, Grace Dibble.
The funeral will be Wednesday February 18, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. to Our Lady of Loreto Church, corner of Bunker Hill Ave. and Ardsley Road for a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in MT Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hour is Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral.

Richard Thorn Jones

Waterbury – Mr. Richard Thorn Jones, 71, passed away peacefully on Jan. 27, 2015 in the VITAS Innovative Hospice Care Unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Richard was born Nov. 3, 1943, in Waterbury, the son of the late Richard and Florence (Thorn) Jones. He was a graduate of Wilby High School and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
Richard worked at Boise Cascade, Reymond Bakery, Utitec, and as a security guard for several companies.
Survivors include a son, Richard Jones, a grandson, Mason Jones, two brothers, James Jones and his wife Gail and Clifford Jones and his wife Nancy, a sister, Nancy McCluskey, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Wayne Jones.
Funeral will be private with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Watertown at the convenience of the family. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. is in charge of arrangements.
