Master Sgt. Roy Andrews, USAF (Ret.)
Funeral services for Roy Andrews, 74, of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Dover, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, in the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Rehoboth, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Mr. Andrews died Friday, May 23, 2008, at home.
Mr. Andrews was born Sept. 23, 1933, in Sparta, N.C., son of the late Alonzo and Lori Sparks Andrews.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Andrews had served during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. He had retired from the Air Force at Dover Air Force Base with the rank of master sergeant.
Following his military retirement, he owned and operated four charter fishing boats, Lady Esther, Missene 3, Missene 2 and Super Shark, out of the Indian River Inlet for 40 years.
He was a member of the Ocean View Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7234 and enjoyed motorcycles, fishing and working on boat engines and boats in general.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Tressie Wiley.
Mr. Andrews is survived by his wife of 53 years, Esther E. Leftwich Andrews; his daughter, Michelle Andrews of Lewes; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Jamie Andrews of Lewes; a grandson, Austin Brock; a granddaughter, Kearah Andrews of Lewes; and two sisters, Treva Deboard of Maryland and Rosalie Tenney of Maine.
Interment will be in Henlopen Memorial Park Cemetery, Milton.

Teresa L. Clark
Funeral services for Teresa L. Clark, 46, of Harrington, were held Sunday, May 25, in the Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington. Mrs. Clark died Thursday, May 22, at home.
Mrs. Clark was born in Milford, daughter of the late Odes Collins and Thelma Tatman.
Her main purpose in life was taking care of her family and raising her children. She took various part-time jobs over the years, including working at Bobola Farms and Loblolly Acres, to get out and meet people.
Mrs. Clark enjoyed planting flowers at her home, vegetable gardening, painting and spending time with the children in the pool. She also loved watching movies with children and visiting Killens Pond State Park with her family.
She will be well remembered by her family and friends as a kind and considerate woman. She helped anyone she could, and got along with everyone.
A hard worker all her life, Mrs. Clark instill these traits in her children. She was the guiding force behind her children and all their accomplishments and in their schooling. She was the best mother her children could have hoped for and she always was there for them, no matter the circumstances.
To her husband, she was the pillar of the family and is simply irreplaceable. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Homer Clark Jr. of Harrington; a son, Aaron H. Clark of Harrington; a daughter, Sarah E. Clark of Harrington; four brothers and their wives, Irving and Kathy Tatman and Odes Lee and Pam Tatman, all of Felton, Roger and Kathy Tatman of Hartly and Richard and Barbie Tatman of Harrington; a sister and her fiancé Shirley Tatman and Terry Mitchell of Harrington; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved pets, Pop Pop and Barney.
Interment was in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

John C. ‘Jay’ Comeaux Sr.
Funeral services for John C. “Jay” Comeaux Sr., 78, of Marydel, Md., were held Sunday, May 25, in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, Md. Mr. Comeaux died Wednesday, May 21, 2008.
Mr. Comeaux was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiring after 20 years of service.
He was a member of the Community Baptist Church. Mr. Comeaux was loved by his church and family, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Comeaux is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dawn Comeaux; three sons, John C. Comeaux Jr. of Marydel, Del., Rodney Comeaux of Pocomoke, Md., and Jay C. Comeaux of Marydel; a brother, Jimmy Comeaux, and a sister, Amy Delcambre, both of Louisiana; and four grandchildren, Brian, David, Kathy and Philip.
Interment was in Greensboro Cemetery.

Ronald ‘Steven’ Crabtree
Funeral services for Ronald “Steven” Crabtree, 25, of Dover, were held Saturday, May 24, in Milford First Baptist Church. Mr. Crabtree died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mr. Crabtree was born in Durham, N.C., son of Terri L. Meiers of Albion, N.Y., and the late Ronald W. Crabtree.
He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and was unemployed because of his disability. He was a true friend and someone who enjoyed his family.
Mr. Crabtree had a special fondness for animals, especially dogs, and was an avid reader.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, Kenneth A. Avery of Dover; a sister, Beth Hartford of Dover; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Sparks and her husband, Preston, of Millsboro; a maternal grandfather, Thorley Halstead of Harrington; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Phyllis Avery of Coats, N.C.; and several aunts and uncles.
Interment was private.
Arrangements were by Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Director, Dover.

Philip Henry Dixon Jr.
Celebration of life services for Philip Henry Dixon Jr., 71, of Dover, were held Friday, May 23, in the Emmanuel A.M.E. Church, Hartly. Mr. Dixon died Friday, May 16, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mr. Dixon was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Dover, son of the late Philip Dixon Sr. and Lillian Dixon.
He graduated from William Henry High in 1956 and was a graduate of the technical trade school, where he received a degree in art and a degree in technology for foreign cars. He loved to hunt and fish, and would share his passion with anyone and everyone.
During his illness Mr. Dixon loved to be driven by the fishing ponds to see if the tides were up and take drives in the country in the truck he loved.
He was a very active and devoted member of Emmanuel A.M.E. Church, Hartly, and served as a member of the church school, Steward Board Emeritus, Class No. 1. Trustee Board, Sons of Allen, men’s choir, Board of Christian Education and was the past president of the senior choir for 18 years.
Mr. Dixon received the Outstanding Historical Achievement of South Carolina, was a past Boy Scout troop master of Troop 248 and served as the district commissioner for Boy Scouts local area, Hartly.
In his free time, he enjoyed reading and collecting comic books, porcelain and stuffed dogs. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by two daughters, Evelyn Cassandra Dixon and Sheila Ann Harmon.
He is survived by his loving and devoted with, Evelyn C. Watson Dixon, who he married March 15, 1958; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Thelma Dixon of Felton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cheryl and John Pitts of Dover and Charlotte Trower of Smyrna; and eight grandchildren, William Gibbs Jr., Brandon Dixon, Roteasha Gibbs, Jeffery Dixon, Areysha Freeman, Shantel Dixon, Trevon Trower and Shaliyah Greene.
Mr. Dixon also is survived by four brothers and their wives, Preston and Naomi Bessix of Star Hill, Andrew and Bessie Sullivan of Aberdeen, Md., the Rev. Walter and Consdevella Dixon of Smyrna and Harry and Debbie Dixon of Dover; two sisters, Charlotte Tull of Harrington and Bertha Green and her husband Tom of New Jersey; four sisters-in-law, Bessie Brokenbrough of Dover, Iris Turner and her husband Richard of Salisbury, Md., Della Harris of Wilmington and Darlene Lee of Smyrna; three brothers-in-law, Jimmy Watson and his wife Edith of Smyrna, Allee Watson Jr. of New Castle and Samuel Watson and his wife Linda of New Castle; special cousins, Thomas and Greta Fountain, Blanche Wisher, Betty Wisher and Robert Fountain; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Interment was in the Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
Arrangements were by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.

Beatrice Keys Favors (1 of 2)
Memorial services for Beatrice Keys Favors, 78, of Dover, were held Friday, May 23, in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover. Mrs. Favors died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Favors was born Oct. 12, 1929, daughter of the late Griffin and Stella Keys.
She received her education in Baltimore.
Mrs. Favors enjoyed traveling with her husband to places such as New York, Montana, the Philippines and Massachusetts and would hand-paint color onto the black and white photographs he would take.
She loved to bowl and play bingo and was quite skilled at both games, but her greatest joy of all was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Favors was preceded in death by her husband, Walter James Favors Sr.; a daughter, Vivian Ann Townes; and two sons, Irvin Austin Favors and Walter James Favors Jr.
Mrs. Favors is survived by her daughter, caretaker and best friend, Evelyn Favors Washington and her son-in-law, Donald L. Washington Sr.; a brother, John C. Keys; and a special daughter-in-law, Marian E. Favors.
She also is survived by five grandsons and the wives of two, Roshique P.D. and Karen Favors, Irvin D. and Felicia Favors, and Julius L. Favors, Donald L. Washington Jr. and James A. Washington; two granddaughters, Dawn C. Favors and her husband, Michael, and Charmain L. Favors and her husband, Nate.
In addition, she is survived by 12 great-grandchildren, Joniqua, Jackie, Treyanna, Shaquora, Danielle, Noah, Jasmyn, Iyanna, Irvin Jr., Charnae, Micaiah and Aigner; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Keys and Gearldine Jeter; a dear niece, Patricia Edmunson Lee and her children, Michael and Tiza; a special nephew, Albert Keys; and a host of cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, friends and loved ones.

Beatrice (Keys) Favors, 78 (2 of 2)
DOVER - Beatrice (Keys) Favors, of Dover, departed this life on Sunday, May 18, 2008, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 78.
She was born Oct. 12, 1929, and was the beloved daughter of the late Stella and Griffin Keys.
Beatrice received her education in Baltimore.
As the wife of the late Walter James Favors Sr., she enjoyed traveling to such places as New York, Montana, the Philippines and Massachusetts.

Washington; great-grandchildren, Joniqua, Jackeé, Treyanna, Shaquora, Danielle, Noah, Jasmyn, Iyanna, Irvin Jr., Charnae, Micaiah and Aigner; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Keys and Gearldine Jeter; a dear niece, Patricia Edmunson Lee and her children, Michael and Tiza; a special nephew, Albert Keys; and a host of cousins, great-nieces and -nephews, friends and loved ones.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.

Dorothy E. Gentry
Graveside services for Dorothy E. Gentry, 90, of Dover, were held Tuesday, May 27, in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. Mrs. Gentry died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mrs. Gentry was born June 2, 1917, in Asheville, N.C., daughter of the late J. Louis Everhart and Nettie Ramsen Brown Everhart.
She worked as a bookkeeper with her husband at James Gentry TV and Stereo Repair Shop.
Mrs. Gentry enjoyed sewing, gardening, crocheting and antiquing.
She was a member of the Century Club and the Jaycees.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Gentry Sr., in 1995; four brothers, Nels, William, Edward and James Everhart; and her sister, Florence Powell.
Mrs. Gentry is survived by her son, James H. Gentry Jr. of New Monmouth, N.J.; her daughter, Jane G. Polo of Dover; five grandchildren, Michael Polo of Delaware, Steven Polo of Connecticut, Theresa Polo of California, Edward Gentry of Tennessee and Carl Gentry of New Jersey; and six great-grandchildren.
Local arrangements were by Torbert Funeral Chapel, Dover.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Gentry’s name may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 5610 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.

Mary Jane Hutchison
Memorial services for Mary Jane Hutchison, 52, of Clayton, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 29, in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna. Mrs. Hutchison died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at the Silver Lake Center, Dover.
Mrs. Hutchison was born July 6, 1955, in Wilmington, daughter of William and Helen Vincent Coleman of Odessa.
She had worked as a salesperson for Hallmark in Dover.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sons, Robert Unruh, Bryan L. Hutchison of Dover and Christopher D. Hutchison of Newark; three brothers, Billy Coleman and Mark Coleman both of Smyrna, and Don Coleman of Middletown; a sister, Lee Cooling of Townsend; and two grandchildren.
Interment will be in Old Drawyers Cemetery, Odessa.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Hutchison’s name may be made to the Helen Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Suite 1217, Newark, DE 19713.

Gladys J. Lefner
Funeral services for Gladys J. Lefner, 90, of Hartly, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, in the Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call beginning at 1 p.m. Ms. Lefner died Thursday, May 22, 2008, in the Harrison House, Georgetown.
Ms. Lefner was born April 29, 1918, in Hartly, daughter of the late Anton Lefner and Anna Tylner Lefner.
She graduated from John Bassett Moore High School in Smyrna in 1935 and afterward moved to New York to work for an accountant.
When she returned to Hartly, she went to work as a secretary for Sterling-Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Dover and worked there until her retirement.
Ms. Lefner enjoyed reading, gardening and journaling.
She was a member of the Hartly United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Rose Lefner, Lillian Sheppard and Joseph Lefner.
Ms. Lefner is survived by her sister, Elsie Moore of Georgia; two nieces and their husbands, Ruthann Bruce Coulson of Felton and Susan and James Trogdan of Cairo, Ga.; a nephew and his wife, Joseph and Carol Lefner of Hartly; and her great-nephew, Christopher Lefner, and great-niece, Heather Lefner, both of Hartly.
Interment will be in the Hartly United Methodist Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Ms. Lefner’s name may be made to a charity of choice.

William A. Moor Jr.
A gathering of the friends and relatives of William A. Moor, 58, of Harrington, was held Tuesday, May 27, in Media, Pa. Mr. Moor died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford.
Mr. Moor was the son of Margaret McFarland Moor of Upland, Pa., and of the late William A. Moor Sr.
Mr. Moor grew up in the Lenni Heights section of Middletown Township, Pa., and had been a resident of Linwood, Pa., for 12 years before moving to Harrington five years ago.
He had worked with East Coast Poured Walls, Milford, as a heavy equipment mechanic for five years.
Mr. Moor was a man devoted to his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He especially adored his three grandchildren.
He loved going to Wildwood, N.J., for vacation each summer.
Mr. Moore was past chief of Lenni Heights Fire Co., where he was a life member, past chief of Aston Beechwood Fire Co. and also as past president and chief engineer of Lower Chichester Fire Department, where he was a life member.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Schreffler Moor; a son and daughter-in-law, William A. III and Lenore K. Moor Aston, Pa.; a daughter, Tammy L. Moor of New Castle; three grandchildren, Christopher Moor and Kylie Moor and Justin Johnson; two sisters, Connie Heffner of Upland and Sharon Jackson of Arlington, Texas; two brothers, Charles “Bucky” Moor of Virginia and Thomas Moor of Linwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment was private.
