Doris N. Mosley

Funeral services for Doris N. Mosley, 80, of Dover, were held Monday, Oct. 22, in the Torbert Funeral Chapel, Dover. Mrs. Mosley died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at home.

Mrs. Mosley was born Jan. 8, 1927, in Cedarville, N.J., daughter of the late Jeffrey and Mary Carney Mosley.

She worked for 27 years, retiring in 1990, for General Foods and then Kraft as a line worker. She also had worked at the Dinner Bell Inn in Dover as a vegetable cook, at Fleischer's Bakery at the sales counter and at Lee's Travel Wear as a line worker.

Mrs. Mosley enjoyed crocheting, canning, flower gardening and being with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Blanco Church and First Baptist Church of Cheswold.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Mosley Sr., in 2004; two brothers; a sister; and a great-grandchild.

Mrs. Mosley is survived by her son, James G. Mosley Jr. of Dover; and three daughters, Christine E. Jones of Dover, Barbara A. Munson of Hammonton, N.J., and Janine E. Mosley of Hartly.

She also is survived by her brother, William Mosley of New Jersey; five sisters, Priscilla Robbins of Brocton, Mass., Edith Mayhew of Bridgeton, N.J., Gladys Goldsboro of Bridgeton, Pauline Truitt of Camden, N.J., and Mary Correia of Alabama; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many friends.

Interment was in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, west of Dover.

William J. Paskey Jr.

Funeral services for William J. Paskey Jr., 81, of Felton, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in the chapel of the Berry Short Funeral Home, Main Street, Felton, where friends may call beginning three hours earlier. Mr. Paskey died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, in his home.

Mr. Paskey was born Sept. 3, 1926, in Felton, the son of the late William J. Paskey and Mildred Workman Paskey.

He served his community, state and country with distinction for more than five decades. He was elected to the state House of Representatives, serving from 1958 until 1962, and in 1966 was elected Kent County sheriff. He won a seat on Kent County Levy Court in 1968, and served 14 years as president of that body.

Mr. Paskey was a 50-year life member of the Felton Community Fire Company and served as its president from 1958 to 1973. He was elected president of the Kent County Fireman’s Association in 1971 and served as president of the Delaware Volunteer Fireman’s Association in 1973 and 1974. In 2004, he was named Fireman of the Year and named a member of the Delaware Fireman’s Hall of Fame.

He also was an active director of the Delaware State Fair, the International Order of Odd Fellows, and was past governor of the Harrington Moose Lodge, in which he was active for more than 30 years. In addition, he was a member of the Wilmington Trust Advisory Board and sat on the Board of Directors for the former People’s Bank of Harrington.

Mr. Paskey enjoyed spending time with his friends, and was a kind, caring and giving individual who always was willing to listen and help others. He enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, watching old Westerns and old country music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Doris Alexander Paskey, on May 23, 2006; a brother, Walter Paskey; a sister, Janet Brown; and a granddaughter, Holly Hrupsa.

Mr. Paskey is survived by two sons and their wives, William and Jane Paskey and Mark Edward and Roxann Paskey, all of Felton; and two daughters and a son-in-law, Jean and Nyle Callaway and Jo Ann Paskey, all of Harrington.

He also is survived by seven grandchildren, Jennifer Menard, Amy Hrupsa, Wendy Callaway, Billie Jo Hrupsa, Joseph Hrupsa, William Paskey III and Taylor Paskey; two great-grandchildren, Oliver Menard and Joshua Menard; and a sister, Pearl Betts of Felton.

Interment will be in the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

Yolanda Elizabeth ‘Lonnie’ Pierce

Funeral services for Yolanda Elizabeth “Lonnie” Pierce, 42, of Dover, were held Saturday, Oct. 20, in Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Dover. Ms. Pierce died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.

Ms. Pierce was born June 5, 1965, in Dover, the daughter of Romenia Maye and the late Lamont Maye.

She attended Dover High School.

Ms. Pierce was a homemaker and spent her leisure time enjoying her grandchildren and going to bingo with her family.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, V. Thomas Harris; and a nephew, Dimetrius Stratton.

In addition to her mother, Ms. Pierce is survived by her children, Antoinne Harris, Larry Pierce Jr., Erica Banks, Isaac Pierce and Darnell Pierce, all of Dover, and Lisa Swiggett of Smyrna; two stepdaughters, Joshina Anderson and Sharon Robinson; and two stepsons, Antoin Julius and Deshawn Harmon.

She also is survived by six sisters, Lenora Malloy, Lainya Noel, Kathie Page and Nicole Maye, all of Brooklyn, N.Y., Aretha Maye of Charleston, S.C., and Twanna Maye of Queens, N.Y.; a brother, James Lee Harris of Dover; and her grandparents, James and Ardella Bryan of Dover.

In addition, Ms. Pierce leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Rosetta Pierce, Kazmere Penuela, Nickai Harris, N’Laysia Pierce, Jamere Banks, Nasir Pierce, Dasir Pierce, Stephone Pierce, Elijah Pierce, Azoria Banks and Ne’Von Pierce; her brother-in-law, Keith Malloy; her sister-in-law, Michele McMillan; and a son-in-law, Anthony Banks.

Interment was in Whatcoat Cemetery in Dover.

Paul F. Puchalsky

Graveside services for Paul F. Puchalsky Sr., 84, of Dover, were held Friday, Oct. 19, in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. Mr. Puchalsky died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.

Mr. Puchalsky was born July 5, 1923, in New York, N.Y., to the late Andrew Puchalsky and Anna Puchalsky.

He served in the 43rd Bombardment Group, Heavy, Fifth Air Force, U.S. Army Air Forces, and after the service worked in the machine shop at Western Electric in Kearney, N.J.

After moving to Delaware he went to work at the family-owned Willow Grove Package Store as a store manager for 35 years.

Mr. Puchalsky was a past Exalted Ruler in the Elks Lodge No. 1903.

He was a life member of the Camden-Wyoming Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3238, a charter member of the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge No. 203, and a member of the American Legion Walter L. Fox Post No. 2 in Dover. He enjoyed football and being with his friends and family.

Mr. Puchalsky was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Puchalsky; his son, Paul F. Puchalsky Jr.; and his brother, William Puchalsky.

He is survived by his grandson, Justin Puchalsky of Dover; two nephews, Wallace Collins of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Barry Collins of Dover; two nieces, Arlene Gordon and Debbie Osika, both of Dover; his good friend, Jean Miclette of Magnolia; and 15 great-nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Puchalsky’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720; or to the Elks National Home, 931 Ashland Ave., Bedford, VA 24523.

Francisco Rodriguez

Funeral services for Francisco Rodriguez, 54, of Dover, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St., Dover. Mr. Rodriguez died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, in Dover.

Mr. Rodriguez was the son of the late Carmen Rodriguez. He attended the public school system in Puerto Rico.

He worked at Dover City Cab for many years, and did numerous odd jobs as well.

In later years, Mr. Rodriguez met his devoted companion, Deborah Massey. Together two children were born, and he raised a daughter as his very own.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Claire Rodriguez.

Mr. Rodriguez is survived by two sons and their wives, Francisco and Michelle Rodriguez, and Andrez and Lauren Rodriguez of Bear; a daughter and her husband, Delora and Shondell Massey Ellis of Bear, whom he raised; his devoted companion and friend, Deborah Massey of Wilmington; a sister, Rosa Rodriguez Lopez; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Interment was private.

Staff Sgt. Anthony Francis Saldutti, USAF (Ret.)

A Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony Francis Saldutti, 76, of Dover, was celebrated Friday, Oct. 19, in the Church of the Holy Cross, Dover. Mr. Saldutti died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, in Christiana Medical Center, Wilmington.

Mr. Saldutti was born Feb. 2, 1931, in Lansdale, Pa., the son of the late Ferdinado and Maria Tecce Saldutti.

He was a life member of American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3238, Camden.

As a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Saldutti was assigned to the 377th Supply Squadron, Tan Son Nhut Air Base, South Vietnam, where he was recognized with the award of the Bronze Star for his part in the rescue of a fellow airman.

During his military career, Mr. Saldutti also was stationed in Germany, Tennessee, South Carolina and retired at Dover Air Force Base. Afterward he worked for the state of Delaware.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Samuel Saldutti and Emilio A. Saldutti.

Mr. Saldutti is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elsbeth “Betty” Saldutti of Dover; and two nephews, Mario Saldutti of Lansdale and Frannie Saldutti of New York.

Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.

Arrangements were by the Trader Funeral Home, Dover.

Harold Otis ‘Odie’ Wells

Going Home services for Harold Otis “Odie” Wells, 55, of Wilmington, N.C., formerly of Dover, were held Wednesday Oct. 10 in the One Way Holiness Church, Wilmington. Mr. Wells died of natural causes Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, in Wilmington.

Mr. Wells was born July 27, 1952, in Dover, son of the late Theodore Gibbs and Lillian Wells.

He was a 1970 graduate of Dover High School, and a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Wells gave his life to Christ in 1990, and studied for the ministry under his mentor, Elder Thomas Holsey of the Morningstar Institutional Church of God in Christ, Camden. He later moved to Wilmington, where he founded the True Foundation Pentecostal Church in 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Wells of Wilmington; four daughters, Tonya Scott, Michelle Scott and Ebony Wilson, all of Dover, and Janae Walker of Wilmington; and a son, Frank Walker of Wilmington.

Mr. Wells also is survived by seven brothers, Arson Gibbs, Roland Mintz, Floyd Wells, Clarence Wells and Paul Wells, all of Dover, Donald Wells of New Bern, N.C., and Ronald Wells of California; four sisters, Clara Arledge of Mississippi, Better Elmore of Wilmington, Del., Dorothy Wilson of Atlantic City, and Yvonne Tolson of Dover; a brother-in-law, I.J. Arledge of Mississippi; four sisters-in-law, Betty Wells and Helen Wells, both of Dover, Vanessa Wells of New Bern and Lynette Keys of California; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Interment was in the Calvary Memorial Cemetery, Wilmington.
