Robert E. Saska, 84, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Brooksville Regional Hospital. He was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area 19 years ago from Richmond, Va.
Mr. Saska retired from IBM after 30 years of service in administration. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of United Church of Christ, Spring Hill.
Survivors include two sons, William of Champaign, Ill., and James of South Beloit, Ill.; a daughter, Julie Shreve of Rockville, Va.; and two grandchildren.

Geraldine Grinstead, 81, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at her home.
Mrs. Grinstead was born in Alburg, Vt., and moved to this area 17 years ago from Malone, N.Y., where she owned and managed a hotel.
Survivors include four daughters, Melanie Grinstead of Montreal, Canada, Sally Holland and Laurie Grinstead, both of Syracuse, N.Y., and Martha of Albany; a brother; a sister; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Darlene J. Marmet, 63, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Oak Hill Hospital. She was born in Sewickley, Pa., and moved to this area 26 years ago from Lakeville, Ohio.
Mrs. Marmet was a Jehovah’s Witness by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Dwain C.; two sons, Randall P. Marmet of Brooksville and Rick R. Marmet of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Nancy of Wooster, Ohio; and two grandsons.

Betty Jean Smith, 73, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Oak Hill Hospital. She was born in Frame, W.Va., and moved to St. Petersburg 36 years ago from West Virginia.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Russell; a son, Jimmy Lee Smith of Brooksville; and several nieces and nephews.

Polly B. Fox, 80, of Brooksville, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at her home. She was born in Baghdad, Ky., and moved to this area 34 years ago from Aurora, Ky.
Mrs. Fox was a retired social worker for Lykes Memorial Hospital and a Christian by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Walter C. Fox and Willard A. Fox II, both of Brooksville; a sister, Maxine Pullam of Frankfort, Ky.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Virginia Lee Olson, 66, of Weeki Wachee, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 in Brooksville. She was born in Omaha, Neb., and moved to this area 13 years ago from Charlotte, Mich.
Ms. Olson was a special education teacher at Potterville High School, Potterville, Mich., and attended Forest Oaks Lutheran Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include a daughter, Terrie Winegar of Weeki Wachee; a son, Anthony Olson of Charlotte; a sister, Lois Sales of Nebraska; and a grandchild.

Grace E. Thomas, 92, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Spring Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Stony Creek, N.Y., and moved to this area 22 years ago from Galway, N.Y.
Mrs. Thomas owned and operated Thomas Variety Store, Galway, and was a member of the Galway, N.Y. Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include a daughter, Dolores Curtis of Seale, Ala.; a son, William E. Thomas of Spring Hill; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

William Paul Young Sr., 81, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at his home. He was born in Noblesville, Ind., and moved to this area 12 years ago from St. Petersburg.
Mr. Young was a firefighter for the City of St. Petersburg and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian; two sons, William P. Young of St. Petersburg and Thomas W. Young of Brooksville; a daughter, Darla Odle of Plant City; a sister, Alice Nichols of Largo; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Bernard Gracien Greene, 81, of Brooksville, died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Memphis, N.Y., and moved to this area 30 years ago from St. Petersburg. He was a security inspector for the Atomic Energy Commission, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the VFW of Los Alamos, N.M., Civil Air Patrol of Pinellas County, an aviator/pilot, a volunteer at the Brooksville Airport, and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, June; a son, Bill D. Greene of Brooksville; two daughters, Janie G. Wurzel of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and Susan G. Szarmach of Brooksville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Virginia A. Dibble, 77, of Weeki Wachee, died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at her home.
She was born in Watertown, N.Y., and moved to this area 15 years ago from Buffalo, N.Y. She was an employee of Trico Products, Buffalo, assembling auto wiper blades. She was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include four daughters, Sue Breitenbach of North Tonawanda, N.Y., JoAnn Gill of West Seneca, N.Y., Jane Metzger of Buffalo, and Judy Burchell of Spring Hill; two brothers, Vincent Frazzitta of South Carolina and Joseph Frazzitta of Long Island, N.Y.; three sisters, Mary Ann Carolan of Long Island, N.Y., Antoinette Fann of South Carolina and Jean Moreno of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Albert Douglas Dawson, 77, of Brooksville, died Monday, June 27, 2005, at his home.
He was born in St. Petersburg and moved to this area 34 years ago from Dade City. He was the Hernando County Extension Service director, a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Rotary Club with perfect attendance since 1971, 4-H, Hernando County Fire Emergency Services Study Committee, and St. Anthony Catholic Church, and a 4th Degree charter member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Sydney Maxine; two sons, Douglas Dawson of Galena, Ohio, and Sydney Dawson of Sugarland, Texas; three daughters, Patti Anglin of Weeki Wachee, Christy Frazier and Jennifer Wheeles, both of Brooksville; a brother, Peter Dawson of St. Petersburg; two sisters, Grace Gulizia of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Cecelia Dawson of Brooksville; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Nina Spitrey, 63, of Spring Hill, died Monday, June 27, 2005, at Oak Hill Hospital.
She was born in Malta and moved to this area four years ago from Staten Island, N.Y. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph; three sons, Victor of Spring Hill, Michael of Hudson and Preston of Spring Hill; five daughters, Joanne Spitrey of New York, N.Y., Linda Riccitelli of Queens, N.Y., Josephine Rivera of New Port Richey, and Maryann Spitrey and Ann Marie Spitrey, both of Spring Hill; two brothers, Charlie Bonnici of Malta and Michael Bonnici of New York; and seven grandchildren.

She was born in Williamsburg, Va., and moved to this area 21 years ago from Largo. She was a retired Arlington, Va. public school librarian, a member of First United Methodist Church, Spring Hill, and a former member of the Bardmoor Country Club, Largo, Brookville Country Club and Timber Pines.
Survivors include her niece, Rebecca T. Mybre of Newburyport, Mass.; and a cousin, Manuel F. Torregrosa of Falls Church, Va.

Trevor F. Hurst, 90, of Oaks Mobile Home Park, Brooksville, died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., and moved to this area 17 years ago from Horbury, England. He was a cabinetmaker for C.M. Goodrich and Son, Pittsfield, and a member of United Church of Christ, formerly of Church on the Hill, Lenox, Mass., where he was a member for 30 years and a deacon.
Survivors include his son, Reverend David F. Hurst of Wilbraham, Mass; a stepdaughter, Margaret Jones of Leeds, England; two grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; and six nephews.

Wilbur C. Wagener, 77, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Monday, June 27, 2005, at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area five years ago from Waterford, Wis. He was a maintenance man at the Hankins Container Corp., Clearing, Ill., for over 30 years. He was a member of Forest Oaks Lutheran Church, Spring Hill, and was involved in many activities in the church, also acting as trustee.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; a daughter, Bonnie Kruse of Chicago; two sons, Edwin of Indiana and Robin of Chicago; three brothers, Julius of Florida, and Donald and Carl, both of Chicago; five granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hazel Crum Chesnutt, 88, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at Shands Hospital, Gainesville.
She was born in Brooksville and was a lifelong resident of Brooksville. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. She taught quilting, upholstering, sewing and knitting.
Survivors include two sons, Billy J. Chesnutt of St. Augustine and William H. Helveston of Casselberry; four daughters, Anita H. Walton of Bronson, Myra A. Eldridge of Fort Pierce, Alice Dorcik of Geneva and Delilah Terranova of Sanford; a brother, Bud Crum of Brooksville; a sister, Maxine Anglin of Brooksville; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Tom of Spring Hill and Robert of Long Island, N.Y.; a daughter, Janice Gravano of Lindenhurst; three brothers, Paul of New York, and Dean and Warren, both of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Sharon Linz of New York, Phyllis Keller of Pennsylvania and Linda Dangela of New Jersey; and six grandchildren.

Freda Marie Blackwelder, 69, of Brooksville, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004.
She was born in Mona, W.Va., and was a lifelong resident of Brooksville. She was an employee of the Junior Service League for 17 years and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include a son, Frank Blackwelder of Inverness; a daughter, Lora DeMaio of Inverness; and two grandchildren.

Robert "Bob" F. Wagner, 81, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Whitestone, N.Y., and moved to Florida 22 years ago from Watertown, Conn. He was a retired manager in the Carbon Products Division of Union Carbide. He was a World War II and Korea U.S. Navy veteran, retiring from the Navy Reserve with a rank of Commander. He graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, N.Y., and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Miriam; two sons, Robert F. Wagner Jr. of Dunedin and Donald J. Wagner of Jupiter; three daughters, Jeanne M. Weingarten of West Islip, N.Y., Nancy E. Wagner of Wellington, Fla., and Patricia A. Joyce of Albany, N.Y.; and 11 grandchildren.

Martin Ebert, 76, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson.
He was born in Czechoslovakia and moved to this area 14 years ago from Carmel, N.Y. He served in the German Army during World War II. He retired after 30 years from Haggerty Mill Work, Mt. Kisco, N.Y. He was a cabinetmaker for 47 years and a member of a Glider Club in Germany.
Survivors include his wife, Ingeborg; two daughters, Angelika Tonnessen of Southbury, Conn., and Petra Hansen of Carmel; a brother, Ernst Ebert of Germany; and four grandchildren.

Thomas J. Loughlin, 72, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at his home.
He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and moved to this area 20 years ago from New York, N.Y. He was a stage hand, a Korean conflict U.S. Navy veteran, a trustee of VFW Post 9236, Hernando Beach, a member of the International Alliance of Theatrics Stage Employees Union, American Legion Post 186, Brooksville, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Weeki Wachee, and Knights of Columbus, New York, and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include three sons, John Loughlin of Delmar, N.Y., Thomas Loughlin of Kingsport, Tenn., and Kevin Laughlin of Spring Hill; a daughter, Margaret Truglio of College Point, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.

She was born in Bradford, Pa., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Hermitage, N.Y. She was a homemaker, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and attended Community Baptist Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include a son, Larry M. Fowler of Buffalo, N.Y.; three daughters, Carol L. Ferrin of Bliss, N.Y., Martha "Marti" Broome of Brooksville and Lynne Thayer of Spring Hill; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
