AUBURNDALE -- Mrs. Helen C. Walsh of Auburndale died of heart failure Thursday (April 21, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. She was 73.

She was a retired grader for Minute Maid. She was a member of Heaven Bound Freewill Baptist Church in Auburndale.

Mrs. Walsh is survived by her husband, Donald E. Walsh; sons, Randy Walsh, Norfolk, Va., Rickey Lee Walsh, Auburndale; brothers, Paul Hyman, Gene Hyman, both of Auburndale, Carl Hyman, Polk City.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Kersey Funeral Home, 108 E. Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.

ANDRE SAHELY, 44

Polly Wog Transportation

AVON PARK -- Mr. Andre R. Sahely of Avon Park died of heart disease Monday (April 18, 2005) in Avon Park. He was 44.

Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, on July 19, 1960, he came to Avon Park from Trinidad in the 1980s. He was a truck driver for Polly Wog Transportation in Miami. He was a Catholic.

Mr. Sahely is survived by his mother, Marie Herrera, Avon Park; brothers, Tony Sahely, Canada, Billy Sahely, Orlando, Emile Sahely, Sebring; sister, Lorraine Grifo, Sebring; companion, Maria Flores, Sebring.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 this afternoon at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.

MARY THORPE, 93

Homemaker

LAKELAND -- Mrs. Mary Lewis Thorpe of Lakeland died natural causes associated with old age Monday (April 18, 2005) in Winter Haven. She was 93.

She was born in Hawthorne on April 21, 1911. She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Bethel AME Church in Lakeland where she was a past member of the Stewardess Board and the Usher Board.

Mrs. Thorpe is survived by her granddaughter, Mary J. Jackson, Lake Wales; grandson, Ollie Thorpe, Auburndale; and two other grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Charles A. Lewis Funeral Home, 609 W. Memorial Blvd., Lakeland. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel AME, 2122 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Lakeland. Burial will follow in Tiger Flower Cemetery.

WILLIAM QUINN, 35

UPS

BABSON PARK -- Mr. William C. "Billy" Quinn II of Babson Park died Wednesday (April 20, 2005) at home. The cause of death is pending autopsy results. He was 35.

Born in Lake Wales, on July 23, 1969, he was a lifelong resident. He was a former package delivery driver for UPS. He was currently attending DeVry Institute. He was a member of Burns Avenue Church of God.

Mr. Quinn is survived by his wife, Debbie Quinn; sisters, Cheryl Schroeder, North Carolina, Cindy Quinn, Connie Carter, both of Dalton, Ga.; father, William C. Quinn, Dalton.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Burns Avenue Church of God. Burial will follow in Lake Wales Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Burns Avenue Church of God.

NAY TORIA STEWART, Infant

LAKELAND -- Miss Nay Toria Camaria Eve Stewart, the daughter of Tamika Williams of Lakeland and Nathaniel Stewart, died Tuesday (April 19, 2005) in Lakeland. She was three months old.

She was born in Bartow.

In addition to her parents, Miss Stewart is survived by her brothers, Nay'Teon Stewart, Na'Torian Stewart; maternal grandparents, Mary and Freddie Smith; paternal grandmother, Carletha Roberts; step grandfather, Mark Roberts; paternal grandfather, Nathaniel Stewart Sr., Dade City; paternal step grandmother, Josephine Stewart, Dade City; maternal great-grandfather, David Daniels, Winter Haven; paternal great-grandmother, Bessie Smith, Lumberton; paternal great-grandfather, Lawrence Rhynes, Lakeland.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Coney Funeral Parlor Inc. Graveside services will follow at Palm Cemetery, Bartow.

RAYMOND McMAKEN, 87

Truck Driver

FORT MYERS -- Mr. Raymond W. McMaken of Fort Myers, formerly of Lakeland, died of complications of pneumonia Saturday (April 16, 2005) at Wedgewood Healthcare. He was 87.

Born in Piqua, Ohio, on Dec. 24, 1917, he came to Lakeland in 1984, moving to Fort Myers eight years ago. He was a truck driver. He was a veteran of World War II and served in Germany.

Mr. McMaken was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Stallings McMaken. He is survived by his son, Gary R. McMaken, Fort Myers; daughter, Gloria K. McKinley, Lakeland; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

EUDELL MONDAY, 75

Juice Bowl

LAKELAND -- Mr. Eudell Monday of Lakeland died of heart failure Tuesday (April 19, 2005) at Palm Terrace of Lakeland. He was 75.

Born on Jan. 31, 1930, he came to Lakeland from Dothan, Ala. He was a tow motor operator for Juice Bowl in Lakeland.

Mr. Monday is survived by his son, Dewayne Monday, Winter Haven.

PATRICIA MAISANO, 69

Cosmetologist

NALCREST -- Mrs. Patricia Ann Maisano of Nalcrest died of heart failure Monday (April 18, 2005) at Auburndale Oaks Healthcare Center. She was 69.

Born in Detroit on Dec. 27, 1935, she came to Nalcrest from there 32 years ago. She was a retired cosmetologist. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Lake Wales.

Mrs. Maisano was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Angelo Maisano. She is survived by her son, John Charles Barry, Jonesville, Mich., and sister, Shirley Robb, Armada, Mich.

A Memorial Mass will be at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Saint Leo the Great Catholic Mission, Nalcrest/Lakeshore.
