MRS. WILKIE

DANIELSVILLE - Mrs. Lillie Muriel Barrett Wilkie, 76, died Friday, January 28, 2000, at Cobb Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Wilkie was born April 27, 1923, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late William A. and Myrtle Allen Barrett.
Mrs. Wilkie was a homemaker and a member of Community Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 31, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. David Strickland officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Wilkie; two sons, Major William D. Wilkie, Hampton, Va., and Ronald S. Wilkie, Cleveland; one brother, Charles E. Barrett, Stockbridge; one sister, Bessie Wheeler, Danielsville; and eight grandchildren.

MRS. LLOYD
Homemaker
CORNELIA - Mrs. Jessie Burke Lloyd, 96, died Sunday, January 30, 2000, at a private nursing home following an extended illness.
Born in White County, Mrs. Lloyd lived most of her life in Habersham County. She was a daughter of the late Taylor Lafayette and Lillie Robertson Burke.
Mrs. Lloyd was a homemaker and a member of Cool Springs United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Johnson, her second husband, Jess Lloyd, and two daughters, Ruth Loudermilk and Virginia Smart, and a son, James Lloyd.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 2, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Revs. Bobby Burke and Steve McIntyre officiating. Burial was in the Blue Creek Baptist Church cemetery, White County.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Dean Sheetz, Cornelius, N.C., and Glenda and John Johnson, Tifton; son and daughter-in-law, Loy and Marion Johnson, Orlando, Fla.; sons-in-law, Paul Smart and Zeb Loudermilk, both of Cornelia; daughter-in-law, Polly Tench, Toccoa; brother and sister-in-law, Alley and Frances Burke, Clarkesville; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. LEACHMAN
Retired truck driver
HOMER - Coy E. Leachman, 70, died Monday, January 31, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of Banks County, Mr. Leachman was a son of the late Claude W. Leachman and Roxie Gosnell Leachman.
He was a retired truck driver.
Mr. Leachman was preceded in death by a sister, Charlie Lou Leachman.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 2, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Brenda Clark and David Garrison officiating. Burial was in the Ridgeway Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sue E. Leachman; two sons, Larry Leachman, Cornelia, and William Claude Leachman Jr., Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter, Linda Neisler, Commerce; six step-sons, Curtis McIntire and Steven Hagan, both of Nicholson, Frank McIntire, Louisville, Ky., Gary McIntire, Nashville, Tenn., J.C. Gable, Cornelia, and Roy W. Gable, Villa Rica; six step-daughters, Paula Underwood, Dawsonville, Teresa Marsingill, Dry Pond, Stephanie Hagan, Commerce, Shelia Norman, Louisville, Ky., Shirley Hagan, Nicholson, and Patsy Garrett, Flowery Branch; two sisters, Evelyn Baker, Maysville, and Bessie Mae Callaham, Athens; 26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Ivie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. WRIGHT
Skilled craftsman
COMER - Michael Lee "Tink" Wright, 39, died Thursday, January 27, 2000.
A native of Stephens County, Mr. Wright was a son of the late Freddy B. Wright and Hazel Ann Alexander Wright.
He was a skilled craftsman and a full-time father.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 6, on top of Currhea Mountain, Toccoa, with the Rev. Steve Welch officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Tracy A. Bales, Nicholson; three daughters, Dustie Leeann Kitchen, Winder, and Mychael Tori Wright and Juanita Ann Wright, both of Comer; one brother, James H. Wright, Lexington; one sister, Nita Wright Phillips, Danielsville; and one granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the "Michael 'Tink' Wright" Memorial Fund, c/o Nita Phillips, Merchants and Farmers Bank, P.O. Box 520, Hull, GA 30646.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 6, at the home of Randy and Sherry Miller, Toccoa.
Cremation Society of the South, Austell, was in charge of arrangements.

Lawrence Chastain
Lawrence Chastain, 74, of Danielsville, died Thursday, January 27, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Chastain was born June 5, 1925, in Madison County. He was a son of the late George and Dedie Floyd Chastain.
Mr. Chastain was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II, and was an owner of Chastain Meat Processing. He attended Evangelical Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Young at Heart Senior Group.
Mr. Chastain was preceded in death by a brother, James S. Chastain, and two sisters, Betty Beard and Esther Bragg.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 29, at Evangelical Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Peek officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Congregational Holiness Church cemetery. Mr. Chastain's nephews, Ricky Hart, Randy Hart, David Chastain, Tommy Cleveland, Edwin Fowler and Jeff Fowler, served as pallbearers.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice E. Fowler Chastain; one daughter, Melinda K. Martin, Royston; four sisters, Sue Berryman, Lynell Human and Lou Ellen Hart, all of Royston, and Cecile Murray, Kannapolis, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 196 Alps Road, Athens, GA 30606.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.

John A. Dorothy
John Allen Dorothy, 61, of Hull, died Wednesday, January 26, 2000.
Mr. Dorothy was born in Rehobeth, Mass., the son of the late Charles and Adrianna Caldwell Dorothy.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Crosby Valve & Gage Company. Mr. Dorothy was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Paradis Dorothy.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 28, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Joy Nellisery officiating. Burial was in Athens Memory Gardens. Shane Couch, Terry Morgan, John Bellew, JR Bellew, Charlie Rush and Danny Ford served as pallbearers.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia L. Rush, Carlton, and Laurie A. Kidder, Wrentham, Mass.; one son, Michael J. Dorothy, Commerce; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.

Terry L. Kitchens
Terry Leonard Kitchens, 42, of Comer, died Saturday, January 29, 2000.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Kitchens was a son of the late Lovic and Estelle Roberts Kitchens.
Graveside services were held Monday, January 31, in the Indian Creek Baptist Church cemetery, Franklin County.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Kitchens; two daughters, Kerry Marie Kitchens, Comer, and Amy Marie Mathis, Homer; one son, Timothy Leonard Kitchens, Commerce; two sisters, Ruth Vaughn, Homer, and Joyce K. Brock, Danielsville; one brother, James Edward Kitchens, Danielsville; and one grandson.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Oglethorpe Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.

Margie R. Brown
Mrs. Margie Rich Brown, 57, of Danielsville, died Thursday, January 27, 2000.
Mrs. Brown was born in Madison County, the daughter of Annie L. Booth Rich and the late Charles L. Rich.
She was employed as a plant manager with Scientific Atlanta and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Brown.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 29, at Providence Baptist Church with the Revs. Albert Vaughn and Johnny Tucker officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Phil Brown, Chris Carver, Nelson Stovall, Larry Evans, Jr. McGee, Billy Booth, Tim Hardeman and Jr. Shields served as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Cindy Brown, Danielsville and one grandchild, Logan Cash Brown.
Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.

Esther H. Burden
Mrs. Esther Hulsey Burden, 83, of Danielsville, died Saturday, January 29, 2000, at her residence.
Mrs. Burden was born November 24, 1916, in Madison County. She was a daughter of the late Isiah Zade and Pearlie Ann Bridges Hulsey.
Mrs. Burden was a retired seamstress and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Burden.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Dayton Logan and Mark Palmer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Burden's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Joyce Floyd, Anderson, S.C., Patricia Anne Binns, Travelers Rest, S.C., and Donna Jean Lakey, Adona, Ark.; four sons, Rupert Kendell Dean, Wayne Douglas Dean and James Tony Dean, all of Danielsville, and Dwight Winston Dean, Nicholson; three sisters, Edna Anderson and Mazelle Stowe, both of Toccoa, and Beatrice Drake, Danielsville; one brother, Oren Hulsey, Eastanollee; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Bobby L. Esco
Bobby Lewis Esco, 63, of Winder, died Thursday, January 27, 2000.
Mr. Esco was born in Oglethorpe County, a son of the late Charlie Mell Esco and Lucy Brake.
He was employed in the textile industry and was of the Baptist denomination.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 28, in the chapel of Wise-Connolly Funeral Home, Winder, with Don Pennington officiating. Burial was in the Hoschton Cemetery. Richard Esco, Mitchell McCoy, Dennis Hayes, Mitchell Smith, Jody Esco and Jamie Littleton served as pallbearers.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Smith Esco; three daughters, Linda Smith and Vicky L. Hunt, both of Winder, and Nina Allen, Statham; four sons, Timothy Esco, Tony Esco, Jimmy Esco and Bobby Esco, all of Winder; six sisters, Linda Robertson, Braselton, Ann Esco and Estell Blocker, both of Hoschton, Patsy Maddox, Buford, Kay Blocker, Carlton, and Shirley Sorrow, Elberton; four brothers, Charlie Esco Jr., Buford, Zeke Esco and Mack Esco, both of Winder, and Terry Esco, Hoschton; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Wise-Connolly Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
