Maggie B. Talley

ROCHELLE — Funeral services for Maggie B. Talley, 88, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home in Hawkinsville. Burial will follow in Pope City Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Conley will officiate the services.

Mrs. Talley died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at her residence.

A native of Wilcox County, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence Bell. She was a member of Pineview Baptist Church and was a retired electronics directorate civil service employee from Robins Air Force Base. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer C. Talley.

Survivors include one daughter, Gayle (J.A.) Calhoun of Hawkinsville; two sons, Johnny Clifton (Marsha) Talley and Ralph (Becky) Talley both of Rochelle; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at Route 2, Highway 112, Rochelle, Ga.

Infant Jayden Michelle Lang

CORDELE — A graveside service for Jayden Michelle Lang, infant daughter of Jason and Stephanie Hall Lang

of Cordele, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Penia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Lang died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Crisp Regional Hospital.

Other survivors include her paternal grandfather, Charles Lang and paternal grandmother, Sandra Johnson, both of Cordele; her maternal grandparents, Steve and Gail Hall of Warner Robins and her paternal great-grandmothers, Effie H. Lang of Cordele and Leone Dupree of Cobb.

Arrangements are being handled by Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc.

Marie Gisele Denyse (Houle) Weber

CORDELE — Funeral services for Marie Gisele Denyse (Houle) Weber, 61, of Cordele, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Third Street Baptist Church. Burial will be at Sunnyside cemetery in Cordele.

Mrs. Weber died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

She was the daughter of the late Romeo Houle and the late Christine (Carrier) Houle.

She is survived by one daughter, Annie D'Amours of Mont-St-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada; a son, Stephane D'Amours of Verchere, Quebec, Canada; a step-daughter, Lori Ann Houseknecht of Charlotte, NC; three step sons, Edward Weber of Los Angeles, Ca., Charles R. Weber, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fl., and William Charles Weber of Fort Lauderdale, Fl.; three sisters, Yolande Houle of Coaticook, Quebec, Canada, Monique Houle of Lac Simon, Quebec, Canada and Daniele Houle of Compton, Quebec, Canada; one brother, Remi Houle of Chicoutimi, Quebec, Canada and a grandchild Simon D'Amours of St Julie, Quebec, Canada and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends today from 6 til 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being handled by Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc.

Charlie Mae Morgan

CORDELE — Funeral services for Mrs. Charlie Mae Morgan of cordele will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, in the sanctuary of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery. The Rev. Benjamin Dent will be officiating.

Mrs. Morgan died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004.

Survivors include two sons, James Hodge Jr., of Jacksonville, Fl. and Reginald (Uta) Morgan of Darmstadt, Germany; two daughters, Fannie Griffin of Jacksonville, Fl. and Cynthia Pollock of Savannah; step children, Lillie (Bobby) Watts of Beaufort, S.C., Malendia Turner of Decatur, Marie L. (Donnia) Hall of Atlanta, Minnie (Freeman) Hawkins of Aliance, Oh., Atlay (Jim) Killings of Vienna, Alfred Morgan of Lithonia, and Shirley (Johnny) Patrick of South Carolina; sisters, Wilma Robinson of Cordele, Elizabeth Powell of Jacksonville, Fl. and Sally Roberson of Phildelphia, Pa.; step sisters, Pinkey (Jessie) Clark of Atlanta and Inez Atkins of Amboy, N.J.; sister in law, Georgia Hardemon of Albany; grandchildren, Prophet Marlon D. Griffin, Angelia (Caesar) Williams, Charlie (Rachael) Griffin, Danny Hodge, SSG Karen (Rodeen) Hughes, Debra (Preston) May, Nicole Williams, and Jasmine Morgan and 10 great grandchildren.

The J.W. Williams Funeral Directors of Cordele and Vienna will be in charge of the arrangements.

Ida Mae Morgan

CORDELE — Funeral services for Ida Mae Morgan of Cordele will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in the sanctuary of New Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. W.W. Wilson will officiate the services.

Mrs. Morgan died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004.

Survivors include her children, Emma (Charles) Collier, Garner (Beulah) Morgan, Carolyn (Alton) Hemby, Eddie (Jeannette) Morgan, Leonard Morgan and Charles (Burnell) Morgan all of Cordele, Deneyce (Vernon) Pressey of Americus, Omie Jean (Joseph) Blount and Earnestine Haddock both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; her god-daughter, Bernice (Gene) Dexter of Cordele; special friends, Annie Whitsett, Madie Johnson, Louella Beal and Irene Daniels all of Cordele; 28 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.

J.W. Williams Funeral Home of Cordele has charge of the arrangements.

Alberta Elizabeth Andrews

ROCHELLE — Funeral services for Alberta Elizabeth Andrews, 83, of Rochelle will be held Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Rochelle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Travis Johnson will officiate the services. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home and then at the residence of Patricia and Billy Denmark, King Street, Rochelle.

Mrs. Andrews died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004.

Bernice S. McKenzie

DOOLING — Funeral services for Bernice Spivey McKenzie, 73, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Aaron Bandy will officiate the services.

Mrs. McKenzie died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at her residence.

A native of Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late Bank and Beulah Quinn Spivey. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Also, she and her husband lived in Chicago, Ill., for many years.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Charlie McKenzie of Montezuma; a sister, Daisy Keith of Park Forest, Ill.; her mother-in-law, Seabrite Seay of New York; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family may be contacted at 876 Highway 329, Montezuma.

James David Fitzgerald

CORDELE — James David Fitzgerald, 81, of Cordele died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, in Crisp Regional Hospital.

Mr. Fitzgerald was the son of the late William Fitzgerald and Ollie Viola (Mitchell) Fitzgerald. He was a retired commercial fisherman and a member of the Pope City Baptist Church.

He is survived by a sister, Ruth Rowland of Apopka, Fla.; a brother, Edgar Fitzgerald of Milwaukee, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews including Faye Tyson of Cordele, Angela Cape of Albany, and Melvin Black of Cordele.

Graveside services will be today, Dec. 10, 2004, at 4:30 p.m. in Pope City Baptist Church cemetery in Wilcox County.

Arrangements are being handled by Rainey Family Funeral Services Inc. where the family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until time for the service.

T. Owen Nicholson Jr.

SYLVESTER — Memorial services for T. Owen Nicholson Jr., 52, were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at Rose Hill cemetery in Ashburn. Perry Funeral Chapel of Ashburn has charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Nicholson died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at his residence following a brief illness.

Frank Nickolas ‘Nick’ Virga

COBB — A funeral mass for Frank Nickolas “Nick” Virga, 26, formerly of Americus was held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, in St. Theresa’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Lawrence A. Lucree officiating. iIntermentwas in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Virga died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, in the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Born Aug. 25, 1978, in Americus, Nick was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Americus. He attended Southland Academy through the ninth grade and graduated from Americus High School in 1997. He was a student at Darton College and worked with United Parcel Service. He was a Boy Scout, played sports in high school, was an avid sportsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an animal lover.

Survivors include his mother, Janice Freeman Dowdy and her husband, Bill, of Albany; his father, Frank E. Virga of Albany; a brother, Vincent Anthony “Tony” Virga of Albany; his paternal grandmother, Virginia Virga of Birmingham, Ala.; a beloved friend and companion, Lindsay Hurndon and her daughter, Leslie; and a number of extended relatives.

A rosary prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Albany Humane Society, 1705 W. Oakridge Drive, Albany, Ga., 31707. An online registry is available at www.kimbrellstern.com.

Ruby Thompson Youngblood

CORDELE — Funeral services for Ruby Thompson Youngblood were held in the chapel Of Rainey Funeral Services at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2004. The Revs. Eve Tomberlin and J.T. Smith conducted the service.

Soft music was provided by Imogene Gilliam. The service was concluded with the congregation singing “Amazing Grace.”

Pallbearers were Ronnie Youngblood, Darrell Youngblood, Ranson Youngblood, Gary Youngblood, Dennis Hall and Dale Albritton.

iIntermentfollowed at Sunnyside cemetery in Cordele.

Mrs. Youngblood, 93, of Cordele died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, in Pinehill Nursing Home in Byromville.

Arrangements were handled by Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc.

Henry Woodrum

OCILLA — Funeral services for Henry Woodrum, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, in Holt Baptist Church in Irwin County. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. David Biggers and J.A. Clements will officiate the services.

Mr. Woodrum died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in Tift Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 22, 1923, in Turner County, he was the son of the late Lonnie M. and Mary Arnold Woodrum. He was a retired carpenter, a member of Holt Baptist Church and a Mason. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Wright of Cordele, and Renee Taylor of Fitzgerald; eight grandchildren, Hugh Taylor, Wesley Taylor, Jamie, Julie, Katelyn, Lindsey, Hershel and Candy Tapp; four great-grandchildren, Ashley, Zack, Josh and Jake Taylor; a special friend, Kay Tapp of Ocilla; three sisters, Laura Hampton and Mabel White both of Macon, and Estelle Barrentine of Bonaire; a brother, Milton Woodrum Jr. of Eatonton; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Melton Woodrum.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at the funeral home in Ocilla.
