MILES E. TAYLOR

Mr. Miles Taylor, age 66 of Cardinal Ln. Formerly of Blairsville passed away on Friday, March 2, 2007 in the St. Josephs Hospital in Atlanta following an extended illness. Mr. Taylor was born on July 21, 1940 in Pikeville, KY., the son of the late Lilburn Taylor and the late Hanna Stevens Taylor. He had worked for the American Spring & Steel in Ohio before moving to Blairsville about twelve years ago. Miles was a man who loved his children and who his children dearly loved him. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marshall, Paul and Martin Taylor and by a sister, Ruth Taylor. Mr. Taylor was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Taylor are two daughters and one son-in-law, Brenda and Gary Twiggs of Blue Ridge, Mindy Taylor of Blairsville, two sons and daughters in laws, Matt and Sonia Taylor of Blairsville, Mike and Pam Taylor of Rootstown, OH., one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Pauletta Taylor of Millstone, KY., five sisters and three brothers in laws, Viola and Dennis Short of Corygon, IN., Vina Blair of Vanworth, OH., Shirley and Jesse Rose of Dry Ridge, KY., Wanda Taylor of Molten, GA, Lucy and Ronnie Smith of Sandy Hook, KY., nine grandchildren, Logan, Chelsea, Leanna, Deven, Chris, Shane, Kyle, Nikki and Tori, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2007 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Waymon Lovell, Rev. Charles Abernathy and Rev. Earl Pickelsimer officiating. Special music will be presented by Charles Abernathy and Dorothy Pickelsimer. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Brent Long, Jeff, Donnie and Jonathan Fortenberry, Tony Long, Chris Hampton and David Hughes. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Donald Fortenberry, Bryan Long, Bobby Taylor, Steve, Raymond and Charles Long. Interment will follow in the Jones Cemetery.

RICHARD ERNEST STAELENS

Mr. Richard E. Staelens, age 75 of Blairsville formerly of Conway, MA., passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Staelens was born on Nov. 17, 1931 in Conway, MA., the son of the late Ernest Staelens and the late Josephine Murray Staelens. Richard was a resident of Conway, MA., for seventy two years and a local mason contractor.

He is survived by his wife Karen of Blairsville, two daughters, Diana Thornton of Deerfield, MA., and Heidi Riordan of Conway, MA., two sons, Davis Staelens of Gill, MA., Aaron Staelens of Richmond, NH., twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Lou Fortier and her husband Gerald, SO. Deerfield, MA., and Barbara Rzasa of Chicopee, MA., several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Richard was educated in Conway and Deerfield Schools. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was Commander of VFW Post 8503 in Shelburne Falls in the 1970’s.He was a lifelong member of the Conway Sportsman’s Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Conway, MA. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice in Mr. Staelens memory.

ELIZABETH ANN DANIELS

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Daniels, age 66 of County Line Rd. Young Harris passed away on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Daniels was born on Aug. 23, 1940 in Knox County, IL., The daughter of the late James Weldon Smith and the late Ruby Joan Thurman Smith. She was employed many years as a child care provider. Mrs. Daniels was a member of the Antioch Baptist church.

Surviving Mrs. Daniels are her loving husband of forty two years, Robert (Steve) Daniels of Young Harris, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Thomas Lee and Meldoee Daniels of Mechanicsburg, TN., Jim Morris of Plant City, FL, two daughters and one son-in-law, Connie Daniels of Young Harris, Stephanie and Joey Lawson of Plant City, FL, one brother and sister-in-law, Pleasant Earl and Eleanor Smith of McCallan, TX., one sister and brother in law, Carol and John Wells of Orlando, FL, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services were held on Monday, Jan. 8, 2007 at 11:00am from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. George Cline officiating. Special music was presented by Becky Eernisse and Jonathan Eernisse. In lieu of flowers if you wish. The family requests that memorials may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Center in Mrs. Daniels memory.

ROBERT C. PHINNEY

Mr. Robert C. Phinney, age 77 of Blairsville formerly of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Phinney was born on Feb. 26, 1929 in West Lake, OH., The son of the late Calvin Phinney and the late Nettie Koch Phinney. He was a farmer for over twenty five years and was also a Fireman for over ten years. Mr. Phinney was a member of the All Saints Lutheran Church.

Surviving Mr. Phinney are his loving wife of fifty one years, Georgene Bender Phinney of Blairsville, daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Joe Clark of Ft. Myers, FL, son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Pam Phinney of Young Harris, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Timm and Jodi Phinney of Corvallis, MT., daughter and son-in-law, Christi and Billy Hart of Ft. Myers, FL, five grandchildren, Tiffany, Ryan, Ericka, Gretchen and Lairen, one great- grandchild, Laci, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 at 10:30 am from the All Saints Lutheran church with Pastor Dave Wesche officiating. Special music will be presented by the All Saints church choir. Interment will follow in the Union Memory Gardens cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the All Saints Lutheran church in Mr. Phinney’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8pm.

Mr. Wyatt George Hayes of Young Harris, GA, born March 31, 1921, passed away on Jan. 10, 2007. Graveside services, Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 11:00am. Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery, Marietta, GA.

JIMMY WAYNE COOK

Mr. Jimmy Wayne Cook, age 74 of Trackrock Church Rd. Blairsville passed away on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 in the North East Ga. Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Cook was born on Sept. 26, 1932 in Fulton County, GA, The son of the late Lawrence Wayne Cook and the late Evelyn Dodson Cook. He was a member of the Blairsville Lions Club, the Masonic Lodge F&AM and a member of the Local #85 Union. He was a retired Welder with over thirty five yeas of service with Mallory and Evans Company. Mr. Cook attended Coosa Methodist Church.

Surviving Mr. Cook are his loving wife of twenty six years, Vivian Cook of Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law, David and Sandy Cook of Jackson, GA, three daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Scott Young of Columbus, GA, Sandi and Frank Dyer of Birmingham, AL., Robin and Ricky Poston of Jackson, GA, three step children, John and Pam Jordon of Blairsville, Geneva and Gerry Bailey of Blairsville, Krickett and Ellison of TX., two sisters and brother in laws, Delores and Bobby Cooley of Snellville, Maryellen and Guy Anglin of Conyers, GA, sixteen grandchildren, Amanda and Audrey Cook, Jared Dyer, Corey and Chad Cunningham, Justin Mullinax, Sheldon Preston, Keith Dyer, Wil and Samantha Young, Joe Jordon, Mark and Jeff Kelley, Renee Patterson, Lynn Thorton and Kay Jordon Coots, several great –grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 15, 2007 at 11:00am from the Coosa United Methodist church with the Rev. Katie Strals officiating. Special music will be presented by the Coosa Church Choir. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Joe Jordon, Keith, Jared and Frank Dyer, Justin Mullinax, Corey and Chad Cunningham, Ricky Poston, Scott and Wil Young. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

CONSTANCE GLADA KONRADY

Mrs. Constance Glada Konrady, age 83 of TrackRock Gap Rd. Blairsville, formerly of West Palm Beach, FL. passed away on Friday, Jan. 6, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Konrady was on Aug. 8, 1922 in Fitchburg, MA., the daughter of the late Anton Efverman and the late Glada Smith Efverman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Charles Konrady Sr. in 1984 and by a son, John Howard Konrady in 1998.She had retired from the Palm Beach County Scholl Board and had volunteered with the American Heart Assc. for several years. She had helped to print Braille Christian materials with the Lutheran Braille Workers. Mrs. Konrady was of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving Mrs. Konrady are one son and daughter-in-law, Richard Charles Konrady, Jr. and Barbara Anderson of West Palm Beach, FL, one daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and David Heyer of Blairsville, two sisters and one brother in law, Virginia See, Harriet and George Bedick, one brother, Donald Efverman all of Fitchburg, MA., four Grandchildren, Kacee, Chris, Richie and Dan, two Great-Grandchildren, Raven and Cheyenne, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006 at 10:00 am from the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of West Palm Beach with Pastor David Arnold Officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, The family requests that memorials may be made to The American Heart Assc. of West Palm Beach, FL in Mrs. Konrady’s memory.

AMANDA DAWN BEAVERS IRICK

Mrs. Amanda Dawn Beavers Irick, age 19 of Pine Log Rd. Young Harris passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Irick was born on July 29, 1986 in Union County, The daughter of Richard Johnson and Mary Beavers. She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County and had attended the Union County School System. Amanda was a member of the Blairsville Church of Christ.

Surviving Amanda are her loving husband, Joshua Irick of Young Harris, mother, Mary Jane Beavers, step father, Richard Stemple of Blairsville, father, Richard Johnson of Blairsville, Grandparents, Don and Ann Beavers of Blairsville, mother in law, Cindy Lynd of Young Harris, brother in law, Ben Geiger of Davenport, FL, two brothers, Andy Deyton and Chad Stemple both of Blairsville, several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006 at 3:30 pm from the Blairsville Church of Christ with Minister Terry Stuart officiating. The family will meet with friends following the services at the church. In lieu of flowers if you wish, The family requests that memorials may made to the Amanda Irick memorial fund % Blairsville Church of Christ or Mountain View Funeral Home in Amanda’s memory.

BETTY (MICKEY) REAGAN

Mrs. Betty (better known as Mickey) Reagan, age 73 of White Path Way, Ellijay, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Jan. 11, 2006 following an extended illness. Mrs. Reagan was born on Jan. 14, 1932 in Fulton County, GA, The daughter of the late Billy Howard Johnson and the late Juanita Camp Johnson. She had retired in 1976 as a nurse with Autumn Breeze in Marietta. She had also worked at the Young Harris College Clinic. She was preceded in death by her step father, Harris Camp in 1979 and a brother, Billy Johnson in 1962.Mrs.Reagan was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Reagan are her loving husband of thirty five years Ralph Clifford Reagan of Ellijay, one daughter, Susie Barnes of Morganton, two brothers, Jack Johnson of Gainesville, Stephen and Phyllis Camp Goodlettsville, TN., Grandchildren, Andrew Barnes of Blairsville, Brandy Barnes formerly of Blairsville, Great-Grandchildren, Russell Barnes, Logan Russell and Madison Barnes, A special friend, Brenda Wiggins of Blairsville, Nieces and Nephews, Michael Johnson of Rockmart, GA, Jay Johnson of Cobb County, David Lee Johnson of Douglasville, Jackie L. Dyer, Kim Johnson, Stephen Johnson, Jamie Johnson, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service and interment will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006 at 2:00 pm from the Owltown Church of God Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Myers and Chaplin Jerry Johnson officiating. In Lieu of flowers if you wish, The family requests that donations may be made to a Children's Hospital of your choice in Mrs. Reagan’s memory.
