LaRue Griffin Huggins

LaRue Griffin Huggins, 68, of Houston Street, Barnesville, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at her residence.

An Atlanta native, Mrs. Huggins had moved to Barnesville in May 1999 after living in Merritt Island, Fla., for 11 years.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Charles F. Huggins of Barnesville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles and Laura Huggins of Barnesville and James Jackson Huggins of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; a brother, W.H. Griffin of Dallas; sister, Jean Farrill of Tyrone; nine grandchildren, Tine, Anita, Jay, Rick, Rusty, Renee, Noah, Christian and Daniel; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, May 25, at Haisten-Martin Funeral Home.

Dr. Benny Tate officiated.

Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge.

Pearl Bethune Littleton

Lillie Pearl Bethune Littleton, 66, of Barnesville died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston.

A lifelong resident of Lamar County, Mrs. Littleton was the daughter of the late Walter and Maggie Ross Bethune.

She was a cosmetologist and beautician and a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene Littleton of Barnesville; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Linda and Robert Jones, Susan and Felton Lewis and Denise Chute, all of Barnesville, and Rita and Kenneth Caldwell of Zebulon; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Littleton of Meansville and Donnel and Robin Littleton of Barnesville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gaynelle Murray and Elsie and Raymond Campbell, all of Barnesville; seven grandsons, five granddaughters, three great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons.

Services were held Friday, May 24, at First Church of the Nazarene.

Dr. Harold Latham and Rev. Mary J. Willoughby officiated.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

White Columns Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Edward Franklin Buice

Edward Franklin Buice, 69, of Barnesville died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002.

Services were held Saturday, Sept. 7, at Barnesville Church of the Nazarene.

Rev. Robbie Kerr officiated.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Pineview Baptist Church, P.O. Drawer H, Barnesville, 30204.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel in Forsyth and Haisten-Martin Funeral Home in Barnesville had charge of arrangements.

Curtis Demons Sr.

Curtis Demons Sr., 87, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002.

Services were held Saturday, Sept. 7, at Sugar Hill AME Church in Barnesville.

Rev. Willie J. Colbert officiated.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Bentley and Sons Funeral Home in Barnesville had charge of arrangements.

Dona Crook Kulp

Dona Crook Kulp, 44, of Barnesville Road, Griffin, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Grady Memorial Hospital from injuries received in an accident.

Services were held Saturday, Sept. 7, at Moody Funeral Home in Zebulon.

Rev. Charles Robert Moore officiated.

Burial was Monday, Sept. 9, in Resthaven Cemetery in Corbin.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 878, Zebulon, 30295.

Juanita Middlebrooks

Juanita Middlebrooks, 77, of Barnesville, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at her residence

Services were held Saturday, Aug. 31, at Sugar Hill AME Church in Lamar County.

Rev. W.J. Colbert officiated.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Hamm's Funeral Home in Barnesville had charge of arrangements.

Clyde Junior Nixon

Clyde Junior Nixon, 76, of Nixon Road, Concord, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at his residence.

Services were held Sunday, Sept. 1, at Coggins Funeral Home in Thomaston.

Rev. Dan Todd officiated.

Burial was in Neal Baptist Church Cemetery in Concord.

Cynthia Thurman Owens

Cynthia E. Thurman Owens, 41, of Barnesville died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002.

Services were held Thursday, Aug. 29, at Bethel Baptist Church.

Pastor James C. Marable officiated.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Bentley's and Sons Funeral Home in Barnesville had charge of arrangements.
