Judith E. “Sunshine” Dort, 68, of 5410 Wyoming Dr SW, died Friday December 11, 2009. A visitation will be on Friday from 10-1 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Rob Dort, her siblings, Kenny Arnell and friend Suzie, Jimmy Arnell and wife Nancy, Jane Hines, Patty Jean Arnell and a sister in law, Connie Arnell all of Cedar Rapids, a granddaughter, Allissa Rachel Dort of Inver Grove Heights, MN, many nieces, nephews, friends and her pet dog, Sissy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Jean Arnell, two brothers, Phillip and Richard Arnell and her special dogs Cindy and Susie.

Judy was born October 20, 1941 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Sam Arnell and Jean Rick Arnell. She was employed by Collins Radio and was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and the Eagles Auxiliary. She loved music, gardening and spending time outdoors. She enjoyed bowling, camping, CB Radio’s and collecting Porcelain Dolls.

A memorial fund has been established in Judy’s name.

Arlene P. Beasley
Born in Central City, Iowa on March 20, 1926
Departed on May 28, 2009. Resided in Amana, Iowa.

Arlene P. Beasley, 83, a resident of the Colonial Manor in Amana, formerly of Marion, died Thursday, May 28, 2009, at the Manor following a short illness. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday in Christ Community Church in Marion. Pastor Tom Parrott will officiate. Visitation with the family from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, and at the church after 10 AM on Monday.

Survivors include a son Lloyd and wife Chris of Cedar Rapids, grandchildren, Wendi Beasley, Sheryl Werling and husband Jayme, and Angela Ebel, and great grandchildren, Austin Smith, Sierra Werling, Lily McDaniel, and Tessa and Dusty Ebel. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, and daughter Bonnie Schwarting.

Arlene was born March 20, 1926 in Central City, Iowa to Ralph and Deltha Dunlap Bishop. She married Donald W. Beasley on March 9, 1946 in Central City. He died December 25, 1996. She was a secretary-receptionist at Collins Radio, and Rockwell-Goss for 50 years, and also at the Marion Police Department.

Arlene was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan, and loved to square dance.

Otis S. Boyd
Born in Roland on November 27, 1924
Departed on May 26, 2009. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Otis S. Boyd, 84, of 912 Jacolyn Dr NW, died Tuesday May 26, 2009 in the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church by the Rev. Randy Kasch. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel and after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday.

Survivors include his wife Joyce of 61 years, his children, Susan Witt and husband Jeff of Spring Lake, Minnesota, Steve Boyd and wife Connie of Slater, Iowa, Deb Gardner and husband Mark of White Bear Lake, Minnesota and Jeffrey Boyd and wife Julie of Troy, Missouri, and his grandchildren, David, Sarah, Daniel, Brandt, Tim, Laura, Andrew, Jessica, Courtney.

His parents, two sisters, Paula, Dorothy, and two brothers, Robert and Donald preceded him in death.

Otis was born November 27, 1924 in Roland, Iowa, the son of Otis and Olive Heggland Boyd Sr. He married Joyce E. Wakeland on August 28, 1947 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He worked for Wilson/ Farmstead Foods as a plant engineer. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and sang in the Norsemen Quartet as well as many other groups. He served in the Army during World War II. His hobbies included photography, golfing, winemaking and sketching. He was a loving husband and father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Memorials may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

Beulah L. Couch
Born in Home City, Kansas on September 8, 1912
Departed on February 28, 2002. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Beulah L. Couch, 89, of 2600 E Ave NE, died Thursday, February 28, 2002, in Northbrook Manor Care Center following a long illness. Services at 10 AM Monday in First Lutheran Church. Rev. Daniel Kolander will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 1 to 4 PM on Sunday and at the church after 9 AM on Monday.
Survivors include her husband Marvin, two sons Gary of Cedar Rapids, and Alan and wife Tami of Westminster, Colorado, a good friend Carolyn Couch of Cedar Rapids, a sister Geneva Rienhart of Oketo, Kansas, 5 grandchildren, Kevin Couch and wife Jennifer and Chris Couch all of Appleton, Wisconsin, Amanda Couch of Denver, Colorado, and Wesley and Nick Couch of Westminster, Colorado, four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Mikaila, and Isaiah of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Olivia Gresham of Denver, Colorado. Also survived by two sisters in law, Mary Doss of Trenton, Missouri and Grace Couch of Redfield, California, and a brother-in-law Maynard Couch and wife Pat of Fallbrook, California.
Beulah was born September 8, 1912 in Home City, Kansas to August and Mary Breunsbach. She married Marvin W. Couch on July 7, 1936 in Chillicothe, Missouri. She graduated from the Chillicothe Business College and started the first catalog center for Montgomery Wards in Chillicothe. After moving to Cedar Rapids she managed the piece goods department for Montgomery Wards. She then became manager of the cafeterias first at Franklin and then Taft Middle Schools. She was a member of First Lutheran Church where she ran the communion group and the shut-in program for many years. After many years of traveling here and abroad she fell and broke her ankle in 1999. This slowed her up quite a bit, to try to enjoy the rest of her golden years.
Now mom can rest in peace.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church.

Eldon R. Dvorak

Eldon R. Dvorak, 83, of Vinton, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Services at 1 PM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Karl Glovik of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will officiate. Burial with military rites in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Saturday.
Survivors include his son Gary Dvorak and wife Joan of Cedar Rapids, grandchildren, Gary, Dara, Diamond, and Dakota, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three brothers.
Eldon was born September 4, 1918 in Alburnett, Iowa, to Steven and Anna Ledvina Dvorak. He married Helen Barnes on February 15, 1941 in Iowa City. She died February 21, 1993. Eldon was a Senior Assistant Industrial Engineer for Collins Radio for over thirty years retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Vinton American Legion Post No. 57, and the Vinton Eagles Club. He served in the US Navy during WW II. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, fabricating copper pictures, sporting events and was an avid Hawkeye Fan.
Instead of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Terrie Lynn DeWitt
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on July 25, 1958
Departed on March 27, 2012. Resided in Anamosa, Iowa.

Terrie Lynn DeWitt, 53, of Anamosa, died at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by the Rev. William Harnish. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon on Saturday.

Terrie is survived by her children, Colt Beall of Cedar Rapids and Skyler Molitor of West Liberty; father Raymond (Jeanette) DeWitt of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Ronald Lee DeWitt of Hiawatha. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon and a brother, Dennis.

Terrie was a kind and very caring person who enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved the outdoors including fishing, mushroom hunting, and taking in the general beauty of nature. She was an animal lover of all kinds. Her smile was infectious and could turn around the worst of days. She was quick to help those in need and will be very deeply missed.

Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Linda Lou Clifton

Linda Lou Clifton, 39, of 3095 Primrose St., Marion, died Thursday at her residence of Hodgkin's disease. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Marion by Revs. Howard Chapman and Julie Anderson officiating. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday and at the church after 9:30 a.m. on Monday.

Surviving is her husband Wendell, daughter Amber Sue and son Ryan James, both at home, her parents Keith and Margaret Sue Wallace of Marion and brother Scott Wallace, also of Marion. Also surviving are her aunt and uncle, Nancy and Roger Burkhart and two cousins, Sharon Sterbis and Bryce Burkhart.

She was born on May 11, 1962 in Cedar Rapids to Keith and Margaret Sue Schalkle Wallace and was married to Wendell Clifton on September 24, 1988 at the First Presbyterian Church in Marion.

Linda was a 1980 graduate from Linn Mar High School and received her B.A. degree in Business Management from Central College in Pella in 1985.

She had formerly been employed by Waldenbooks, the Clothes Works at Lindale Mall where she was an assistant manager and Rockwell.

She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marion and participated in their youth activities while growing up. She enjoyed taking care of her children and doing things with them. Linda was fond of cats, enjoyed reading and doing rubber stamp art.

Friends may, if they wish, make contributions to the First Presbyterian Church in Marion or Camp Wyoming.
