Delbert G. Clark, 86, of 1449 Highway 965 in Swisher died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 at St. Lukes Hospital after a long illness. Services at 10 AM on Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Charles Keyes and Rev. Tim Carter will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday and at the Church after 9 AM on Friday.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine. He is also survived by several foster children. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Helen Sommerville and Vera Sexton.
Delbert was born on Nov. 22, 1916 in Epworth, the son of Camchester and Flora Mabel Grubaugh Clark. He married Geraldine M. Amis on Nov. 24, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland. Delbert was self-employed in real estate building, remodeling and managing apartments. He also was an excellent craftsman. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and served in the Army during WWII. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the First Church of the Nazarene in Delbert's name.

Marie A. Crawford
Born in Elmira, NY on December 17, 1940
Departed on December 26, 2002. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

** Marie A. Crawford, 62, of Cedar Rapids died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Services at 11 AM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday and at the Chapel after 10 AM on Monday. Survivors include her friend, L. 'Buffy' Byrne of Cedar Rapids, a son, David of Cedar Rapids, three daughters, Dawn Bassett and husband, Scott of Texas, Darla Cheatwood of Cedar Rapids, Jerri 'Lynn' Simpson and husband, David of Atkins, her step mother, Geraldine Lane, two sisters, Michelle Diliberto and Carol McDonald all of Elmira, NY. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Desarae, Kesha, Dakota, Krista, Eric, Dannielle, Joseph, Jessica, a great great grandchild, Alexander and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Dominic Caporiccio.
Marie was born on Dec. 17, 1940 in Elmira, NY. She was a private caregiver in her working years. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Marie's name.

Gerald (Buzz) A. Deibler

Gerald Allen (Buzz) Deibler, 75, of Marion, IA died Friday evening, July 10, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Chaplain Dorothy Gerr officiating. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time at the chapel on Tuesday.

Gerald Allen (Buzz) Deibler was born January 25, 1934 to Loren Deibler and Mildred Remer Deibler in their Kanawha, Iowa home. He received his education and graduated from Kanawha High School in 1951. He enjoyed sports in high school.

Buzz was a dedicated hard worker doing such jobs as working on the railroad and digging graves from 1950 to 1954. He also helped build the new Kanawha High School in 1955. In 1954, Buzz married Marilyn Dasch. To this union, four children were born: Rodney, Krista, Joni & Londa. In 1962, Buzz married Nellie Iverson. To this union, one child, Lori was born. He also became a father to Nellie’s daughters Linda & Carma. In 1956, Buzz moved to Cedar Rapids and began his 36 year career with Iowa Electric Light and Power/Alliant. Buzz was a dedicated employee and worked as a lineman and line superviser. He retired from Iowa Electric Light and Power in 1992.

Preceding Buzz in death were his wife Nellie in 2004, parents, sister (Mary Lou Deibler) and his beloved pets-Buttons & Ching.

Survivors include his children, Rodney Deibler of Ankeny, IA, Krista (Gary) Day of North Branch, MN, Joni (Todd) Mostad of Shoreview, MN, Londa Fabio of Forest Lake, MN, Lori (RJ) Warner of Mt. Vernon, IA, Linda Peterson of New London, IA & Carma Ernster of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Also surviving are his grandchildren, Derek Deibler of Clive, IA, Nathan Day of North Branch, MN, Josie Bayers of Little Canada, MN, Jamie (Kevin) Harrison of Roseville, MN, Sam Mostad of Shoreview, MN, Connor Fabio of Forest Lake, MN, Lance Corporal Colton Warner of USMC of Twenty-Nine Palms, CA, Priscilla Warner of Mt. Vernon, IA, Lorisa Sievers, Stacy Sievers, & Tracy Ledbetter all of Mount Pleasant, IA, Tina Krieger of New London, IA, Heather William & Michael Ernster both of Cedar Rapids.

Also surviving are 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, special niece, Beth Kavanaugh of Virginia Beach, VA, brother, Bill Scott of Florida and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Irma Mae Cairns
Born in Cedar County, IA. on November 23, 1917
Departed on December 31, 2002. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Irma Mae 'Goma' Cairns, 85, of 212 26th St. NW, died Tuesday, December 31, 2002 in St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Services at 1 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Monday.
Survivors include a daughter Wendy Himes of Cedar Rapids, two sons Terry Cairns and wife Inara of Bellvue, Colorado, and Douglas Cairns and wife Barbara of St. Charles, Missouri, a sister Darlene Woellert and husband Gene of Cedar Rapids, three grandchildren, Tim Cairns, and Jeff and Bobby Himes, a great-grandson Nicholas Himes, four nieces, Sue Peterson, Debbie Himes, Sandy Hopkins, and Rhonda Purdy, a great nephew Tom Peterson, a great niece Beth Peterson, and Irma's pet dog Picard. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Irma was born November 23, 1917 in Cedar County, Iowa, to Arthur and Martha Boettcher Klahn. She married Bruce R. Cairns on September 28, 1937 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1983.
Irma loved cooking, sewing, crocheting, and childcare especially for her family.

Marion A. Dauenbaugh
Born in Quasqueton, IA. on October 24, 1927
Departed on September 26, 2002. Resided in Marion, IA.

Marion A. Dauenbaugh, 74, of 1950 McGowan Blvd, Marion, died Thursday, September 26, 2002, in his home following a sudden illness. Services with military rites at 11 AM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Carroll Brown will officiate. Burial with masonic rites at 1:30 PM in the Campton Cemetery, Lamont, Iowa. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and at the chapel after 10 AM on Saturday.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie, a son Michael of Marion, and a sister Beverly Farnum of Fairbank, Iowa
Also survived by three grand children, Gary and Scott Kreutner and Dondee Corrigan, and his pet dog Dancer. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Sheryll Dauenbaugh.
Marion was born October 24, 1927 in Quasqueton, Iowa to Alvin and Wilma Boies Dauenbaugh. He married Marjorie Rule on August 12, 1946 in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He graduated from Upper Iowa University in 1949. He was a teacher and coach at Quasqueton and Center Point and at Linn Mar High School for 22 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of Solomon Masonic Lodge # 594 in Lamont, and a member of the El Kahir Shrine. He served with the US Army during WW II, and was a member of Marion American legion Post No 298. He enjoyed golfing and especially fishing.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital or to Camp Courageous of Iowa.

Elsie J. Cohn
Born in Great Falls, Montana on November 20, 1917
Departed on February 4, 2003. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Elsie J. Cohn, 85, of 2222 1st Ave. N.E., died Tuesday, February 4th at Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 1st at Temple Judah in Cedar Rapids, Iowa by Rabbi Edward Chesman. An inurnment will take place at the Eben Israel Cemetery following the memorial service at Temple Judah. Arrangements are with the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Surviving is a daughter, Sharyn Cohn Fireman of Boston, Massachusetts, two grandchildren, Marc Daniel Fireman and Anthony Charles Fireman, both of Boston, and a sister in law, Francie Cohn of Cedar Rapids and Palm Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed in 1996 and her parents.

Mrs. Cohn was born on November 20, 1917 at Great Falls, Montana to Charles and Mary Moskovitz Galpren and was married to Ed Cohn on September 16, 1942 in Cedar Rapids. She and her husband also had a residence in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was a member of Temple Judah and active in the Temple Judah Sisterhood. She was also a member of Hadassah. Elsie was also a founder of Mt. Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, Florida, a member of the Children in Distress Association in Miami Beach, was a Patron of the Sylvester Cancer Society in Miami Beach, a Notable for the Douglas Gardens, an Alzheimer's Society in Miami Beach and was a life member of the Miami Beach Cancer Society.

Elsie and her husband Ed generously supported Mercy Medical Center for many years, often directing their gifts toward building projects and patient room renovations. Most recently, Elsie sponsored the cardiologists' viewing area in the Katz Cardiovascular Center. She also supported the St. Luke's Hospital Foundation.

Elsie loved to entertain and enjoyed playing golf and bridge with her many friends.

Friends may, if they wish, make memorial contributions in her memory to The Thaler Holocaust Memorial Fund, c/o Temple Judah, 3221 Lindsay Lane S.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52403.

Wilma Loraine Carlson
Born in Hampton, Iowa on November 6, 1919
Departed on March 2, 2003. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Service: Thursday, March 6, 2003
Cemetery: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery
Wilma 'Billee' Lorraine Douglass Carlson, 83, of Regency South, 100 Thompson Dr. SE, died March 2, 2003, in St. Luke's Hospital following emergency surgery. Services at 10 AM Thursday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Dr. Robert Burkhart and Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating. Private burial will follow in Garden of the Cross, in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday and at the church after 9:30 AM on Thursday.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Milton, a daughter, Cynthia Good and husband James of Gig Harbor, WA., two sons Douglas of Seneca, SC., and Richard and wife Jennie of Edina, MN., four granddaughters Kate Sikes and husband Chris of Williamsburg, VA., Elizabeth Cobian and husband Craig of Washington, NJ., Amanda Good of Seattle, WA., and Stephanie Carlson of Edina, MN., and twin great-granddaughters, Isabel and Olivia Cobian, and a sister Mildred Bruns and husband Carl of Spencer, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Donald Douglass.
Wilma 'Billee' was born November 6, 1919 in Hampton, IA., the daughter of William F. and Cora Crouch Douglass.
She graduated from Hampton High School with honors. She attended Iowa State University for two years and graduated with a B. S. Degree from the State University of Iowa in June 1941 and accepted a teaching position with the high school in Muscatine, IA. Billee married Milton E. Carlson in Muscatine on March 14, 1943. She moved to Chicago while her husband attended the U. S. Army Signal Corp program and returned to Muscatine in 1944.
She was a member of AAUW, serving as secretary. She sang in the Wesley United Methodist Choir and served on the board of trustees.
The family moved to Cedar Rapids in 1949 where she became active in the community serving as a past president of Cedar Rapids College Club, Washington High School PTA, Chapter JT of PEO and United Methodist Church Women. As a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church she served on the Board of Trustees, Worship and Pastoral Relations Committees and was a 50 year member of the Family Fellowship class. She was a life member of St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary. She gave over 5000 hours of volunteer service to the hospital.
After her youngest child had completed grade school she did substitute teaching for a number of years in all the Cedar Rapids Community High Schools. She was a member of Elmcrest Country Club.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or to St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary Foundation.
