Eloise A. Christopherson, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died at the Hospice House of Mercy, Sunday, August 26, 2012. Services: 1p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Wesley Bruss. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m.

Survivors include her daughters, Patty (Mark) Fitzsimmons of Anamosa, Kristina (Mark) Minnisquero of Dresden, TN; sons, John R. Christopherson of Ackley, Michael R. Plummer of Cedar Rapids and Jerry (Joan) Markwell of Hiawatha; sisters, Natalie McClure of Ashville, NC and Marlene Leet of Colorado; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Eloise was born August 11, 1922 in Oakhurst, OK to Earl and Thelma Edwards. She married Robert Christopherson in Anamosa on October 22, 1953. He died in 2010. Eloise began working after graduating from high school at Consolidated in San Diego, CA building B24 bombers. She later was employed by Collins Radio retiring after 25 years. She was an avid gardener and loved sewing for her family but her primary focus was her family.

The family would like to thank the Hospice House of Mercy and her many friends for their loving support and compassionate care.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society.

James S. Cunningham
Born in Coggon, Iowa on September 27, 1926
Departed on February 2, 2013. Resided in Marion, Iowa.

James S. Cunningham, 86, of Marion passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 5 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Pastor Mike Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

James Stuart Cunningham was born on September 27, 1926 to William and Katherine Dunn Cunningham in Coggan, Iowa. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Navy in 1943 and served during WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. James retired from the Navy in 1966. He was united in marriage to Novella Winch on June 10, 1946. James was employed at General Mills until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association for 45 years and past master of Mount Herman Lodge. He was an avid Oakland Raider fan all of his life. James loved shopping with his wife, mushroom hunting and spending time with the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Novella; sons, Terry (Deb Twachtman) Cunningham of Cedar Rapids; Jerry (June) Cunningham of Marion; and James (Rebecca) of Matthews, NC; daughter-in-law, Cloanne Cunningham of Anamosa; 2 nieces and 2 nephews; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by parents; son, Bill Cunningham in July 2012; sisters, Jean Buch and Mary K. Stein; nephew, James Jones.

Memorial donations may be directed to First United Methodist Church or charity of choice.

Donald R. DeVault
Born in Bloomfield, Iowa on March 3, 1916
Departed on March 7, 2004. Resided in Marion, IA.

Donald R. DeVault, 87, of Marion, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, in Linn Manor Care Center in Marion following an extended illness. Services with military rites at 1 PM Wednesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Linda Livingston of Ascension Lutheran Church in Marion will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday with a Masonic service beginning at 7 PM.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ruth, a daughter Donna Jean Burnell Kenneth of Mt. Auburn, Iowa, two sisters Dorothy Wild of Keystone, Iowa, and Lucille DeVault, of Ottumwa, Iowa, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one niece, and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia, infant daughter Mary Ellen, a son David Allen DeVault, and a Brother-in-law Vernon Wild.
Donald was born March 3, 1916 in Davis county near Bloomfield, Iowa, to Raleigh H. and Willie Mae Benge DeVault. He attended Bloomfield Schools, joined the civilian conservation corps camp #3727 from 1935 to 1937. He married Virginia May Wild in 1940. She died in 1967. He married Mary "Ruth" Merrill in 1968. He was a toolmaker for La Plante-Choate, Allis-Chalmers, and P & H. He was a volunteer for the Marion Fire Department from 1947 to present. Also had volunteered for the Marion Police Department. He served in the US Army during WW II and was a member of American Legion Post No 298 in Marion, the Marion Lions Club, and Marion Masonic Lodge No 6.
A special honor guard will be provided by the Marion Fire Department with military rites by Marion American Legion Post No 298.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Marion Fire Department

Margaret L. Dolph
Born in Otumwa, Iowa on July 25, 1927
Departed on March 9, 2004. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Margaret L. Dolph, 76, of Cedar Rapids died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at Manor Care following a long illness. Services: 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial is private. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Thursday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Susan Detwiler will officiate.
Survivors include a dear friend for over 40 years, Earl Summers of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Patricia Plotz of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Virginia McCreary and husband Norman of Cedar Rapids; a special niece, Christina Hall and husband James of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren, Shannon Plotz, Christina Ritchart, and Nathaniel Plotz all of Cedar Rapids; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband William.
Margaret was born July 25, 1927 in Ottumwa, the daughter of William and Bessie Foglesong Counterman. She married William P. Dolph. She was a clerk at Penick and Ford, at Killians and at Life Investors. Margaret was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and the Ruth Circle.
Margaret's family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice of St. Luke's and to Manor Care.
A memorial fund has been established.

Nancy Lorraine Dowd
Born in Decorah,Iowa on May 7, 1933
Departed on March 5, 2009. Resided in Keystone Heights, Florida.

Nancy Lorraine (Reed) Dowd, 75, of Keystone Heights, Florida, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, in her home following a long illness. Services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Rick Gail of First Assembly of God Church will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Monday and at the chapel after 9:30 AM on Tuesday.

Survivors include a son Edward Reed of Alburnett, four daughters, Sheila (Jeff) Grosvenor of Palm Bay, Florida, Margaret Reed of Cedar Rapids, Mary (Kevin) Struve of Vinton, and Michele (John) Leverone of Ash Fork, Arizona, a brother Chester (Shirley) Sheetz of Cedar Rapids, a sister Mildred Tristani of Keystone Heights, Florida, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Emma Ploeger Sheetz, first husband Kenneth L. Reed, 2nd husband Raymond Dowd, two sons Keith and Kevin Reed, two brothers Merton and Donald Sheetz, four sisters Ora Mae Cozart, Grace Hartson, Helen Rouse and Margaret Sheetz, and a granddaughter Nikki Leverone.

Nancy was born May 7, 1933 in Decorah, Iowa. She married Kenneth L. Reed on August 3, 1951 in Cedar Rapids. He died June 24, 1982. She married Raymond H. Dowd on June 11, 1995 in Denver, Colorado. He died December 28, 2001. She was a professional seamstress working at Jean’s Fashion and Von Maur in Lindale Mall. She was a member of the Lake Area Bible Church in Melrose, Florida. She enjoyed doll collecting, fishing, good movies, camping, and reading books.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Born in Eureka, South Dakota on October 3, 1931
Departed on March 26, 2004. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Marvin Dais, 72, of 414 - 34th Street SE died at home Friday, March 26, 2004 after a short illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Catholic Church by the Rev. David O'Connor. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Mary Dais; three children, Marlene Jesse Arenas of Mt. Vernon, Sheryl Patrick O'Connell of Marion and Steven Dais of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Shauna Kevin Graybill, Rick Angela Arenas, Candice and Brandon O'Connell; two great-grandchildren, Ashleigh and Bailey Graybill; four brothers, Walter Edna Dais and Calvin Lou Ella Dais, all of Eureka, S.D., Milbert Bernice Dais of Aberdeen, S.D., LeRoy Hope Dais of Denver, CO.; and two sisters, Alice Meier of Eureka, S.D.;and Mabel Lee Cory of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Dais; one brother Aaron and one sister Darlene.
