Doris Lea Floyd, 81, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Services: 1:00 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by the Rev. Julie A. Schuett. Interment: First Presbyterian Cemetery, Ely. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.

Doris is survived by her daughters; Sherry (Mike) Winters of Osage, Susan (Leslie) Feyerabend of Ely, and Shelly (Dennis) Huffer of Marion; a sister, Bernice Quigg of Kannapolis, North Carolina; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Floyd, her daughter, Sandra Gail, her parents, a sister, Gertrude Gonterman and a brother, Larry Finch, a baby sister Laura and a brother-in-law, Ben Quigg.

Doris was born August 28, 1930 in Cedar Rapids to Lawrence and Charlotte Finch. She married Joseph Floyd on August 26, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He died in 1975. She was employed by Prairie Junior High School as kitchen manager for 25 years, retiring in 1989. Doris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church near Ely, the Rebecca Circle, and P.L.O. Asbury United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ely. Doris loved playing Bingo, crafts and enjoyed dancing at the Eagles Club. Doris always encouraged her family’s dreams- Go for it! Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church in Ely.

Gerda M. Lund Faulk
Born in Berlin, Germany on June 24, 1928
Departed on April 3, 2012. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Visitation: Friday, April 6, 2012
Service: Thursday, April 5, 2012
Cemetery: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery
Gerda M. Lund Faulk, 83, of 1125 Edgewood Road NW died Tuesday April 3, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital after a short illness. A celebration of life service will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 PM on Thursday at St. James United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until service time on Friday. Rev. Beth Harbaugh will officiate.

Survivors include her husband Thomas; three daughters, Linda (Johnny) Meeks, Lorraine (Don) Styron and Lisa (Dan) Negrete all of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Helga of Germany, Irmchen of Virginia and a brother Klaus of Hawaii. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Todd Meeks, Tina (Bryon) Ruby, Cortney Negrete, Trevor Ricklefs and two great grandchildren, Alec and Hallie (Sunshine) Ruby.

Gerda was born on June 24, 1928 in Berlin, Germany the daughter of Ewald and Elsie Thourus Pohl. She married Stanley L. Lund on October 4, 1948 in Berlin. He died in 1982. She later married Thomas Faulk on in 1989 in Cedar Rapids. Gerda was a para educator for the Cedar Rapids School District and retired from there after more than 27 years of service.

Gerda was a faithful member of St. James United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, hiking, feeding the birds and rabbits, picnics, tending her flowers and little children.

Everyone will miss her laughter. She taught us to enjoy the simple things in life. Take time to smell the roses.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St. James United Methodist Church.

Stanley R. Farmer
Born in Harlan County, Kentucky on April 30, 1942
Departed on August 19, 2012. Resided in Marion, Iowa.

Stanley R. Farmer, 70 of Marion passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11 AM at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating.

Stanley R. Farmer was born on April 30, 1942 to Eugene and Violet Palmer Farmer in Harlan County, Kentucky. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps. He was united in marriage to Jean Dolash on April 3, 1971 in Toledo, Iowa and to this union two children were born, Stacy and Shane. Stan worked at the Merchants National Bank for 25 years and at American College Testing prior to retirement. Stan enjoyed traveling, fishing, golfing and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; children, Stacy (Tony) Sablan of Firebaugh, CA; and Shane Farmer of Cedar Falls; 4 grandchildren, Ella, Elias, Edward, and Evan Sablan; brother, William (Sheila) Farmer of Iowa City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean O’Connor; and step-father, Carl Dalton.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to St. Luke’s Healthcare Foundation 855 A Avenue Suite 105, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402 or American Cancer Society 4080 1st Ave NE # 101, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.

Sandra Rose Fuller
Born in Sac City, Iowa on November 29, 1937
Departed on February 10, 2013. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Sandra Rose Fuller, 75, of 1015 Center Street Northeast, Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital following a lengthy illness.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1-4 pm Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include her son, Robert “Bob” Fuller Jr. of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, cousins and a special great niece, Phoebe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Fuller Sr., three brothers and a sister.

Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Barbara M. Fuller
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on June 19, 1962

Barbara Meeks Fuller, 50, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 2 to 5 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Memorial service will be on Monday, February 25 at 11 AM at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Pastor Tye Male of New Covenant Bible Church officiating.

Barbara Meeks Fuller was born on June 19, 1962 to Buel and Rosemary Victorine Meeks in Cedar Rapids. She was united in marriage to Gordon Fuller on October 25, 1986. Barbara worked for the CR Schools for 12 1/2 years as an Associate Teacher. She enjoyed being part of the children’s church at New Covenant Bible Church and assisted with artwork and set design. Barb was a talented glasswork artist. She will be forever missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gordon; son, Alex Fuller of Chicago, IL; daughters, September and Theresa Fuller both of Cedar Rapids; a grandson, Aiden Fuller; mother, Rosemary Meeks of Marion; siblings, Sally (Jim) Meeks-Johnson of Indianapolis, IN; Bill (Teri) Meeks of Cedar Rapids; Roger (Jan) Meeks of Tacoma, WA; Debra (Jim) Gawne of Phoenix, AZ; and Theresa (Ray) Meeks-Mosley of Iowa City.

Barb was preceded in death by her father, Buel.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center.

Roberta Joyce Rehder Fish
Born in Palo, Iowa on September 21, 1930

Roberta Joyce Rehder Lint Fish, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died at Northbrook Care Center on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Family Service will follow at 7 p.m.

Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie (Dennis) Bland of Fairfax, Glenda (Edward) McKinley of Vinton, and Shelley (Rob Chagnon) Fish of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Jean Severe of Vancouver, WA and Faye (Melvin) Young of Palo; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Thomas Fish.

Joyce was born September 21, 1930 in Palo to Wencil and Pearl Rehder. She married Thomas Fish on May 28, 1971 in Albia. She and Tom farmed near Drakesville, Iowa until his death. She returned to Cedar Rapids to be near her daughters. Joyce worked and lived in the Cedar Rapids area until her retirement. Joyce loved to travel and do crafts.
