Louis Edmund "Louie" Hulseberg, 74, of Marion, died Thursday July 10, 2008 in St. Luke's Hospital following a brief illness. Services:10:30 A.M. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marion by the Rev. Greg Williamson. Burial: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy, Iowa. Visitation will be Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday after 9:30 A.M.
Survivors include his wife Elaine of 51 years, three sons, Gary L. Pam Hulseberg of Marion, Michael L. Dorene Hulseberg of Independence, Randy J. Julie Hulseberg of Cedar Rapids, grandsons, Trent and Troy of Independence, Benjamin and Kirk of Cedar Rapids, a step grandson, Jacob Kimberly Cowger of Marion, a brother, Bill Millie Hulseberg; of Williamsburg, a sister-in-law, Nedra Hulseberg of Sabula, brother-in-laws, Stewart Lentz of River Falls, Wisconsin, Don Mc Spadden of Cedar Rapids and many special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Betty Samuelson, Janet McSpadden, twin sister, Lois Lentz and a brother, Charles Chuck Hulseberg.
Louis was born April 12, 1934 in Elburn, Illinois, the son of Bernard and Lucille Davis Hulseberg, and on October 24, 1934 and was baptized in the Congregational Church. Louie was confirmed on December 8, 1956 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Homestead, Iowa, and married Elaine M. Moennich on September 1, 1956 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy, Iowa. After graduation he worked for the Iowa County Road Department. In 1957 he began serving as Administrator of the Jones County Home until moving to Linn County Care Facility on February 8, 1973 serving as Administrator of the facility and continued as an employee of the Linn County Care Facility Abbe Center for Community Care until retiring in December of 1995. They moved to Marion in 1999 and were hosts for many of the receptions held at Cedar Memorial Family Center & Library. Louie served as Past President of the Care Facility Administrators Association, and Vice President of Monticello Lions. He served as trustee, elder and chairman of the St. John's Lutheran Church, in Monticello before moving to Linn County.
Memorials may be made to any of the following in lieu of flowers, Camp Courageous, American Heart Association, Cancer Society, Diabetes Foundation and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Patricia Marie Harbaugh
Born in Bagley, WI on May 26, 1941
Departed on July 19, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Patricia M. Harbaugh, 67, of 4629 Danbury Street NE, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 19, 2008 in her home, following an extended illness. Celebration of life services will take place at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Surviving in addition to her beloved husband Harlan of 49 years, are her children Kimberly A. Harbaugh and fiancé Jim Akers of Cedar Rapids, Pamela D. Haskins of Clear Lake, Mark A. Harbaugh of San Diego, CA, and Christina M. Werner and her partner David Kinney of Center Point. Also surviving are her grandchildren Melissa Werner Attwood and husband Brett, Bilal Haskins, Ariel Werner, Malik Haskins, Lynette Barber, Erin Werner, Logan Barber, and Tamir Haskins; her sisters Jean Ann, Betty, Peggy, Cindy and their families; as well as numerous extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Russell Eugene Tindell, and brother-in-law Francis "Abe" Strahl.

Patricia Marie Harbaugh was born May 26, 1941 in Bagley, WI, the beloved daughter of Russell E. and Lucille K. Fabert Tindell. She was united in marriage to Harlan Harbaugh on May 23, 1959 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She was employed for over 27 years as a Supervisor at Target. Family, friends, and hundreds of guests remember her for her loving heart, dedication, and exceptional service she gave during her time with us. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gaming, traveling, and sightseeing. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Patricia's honor may be made to Hospice of Mercy.

Robert D. Hansen
Born in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa on September 16, 1929
Departed on August 2, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Robert D. Hansen, 78, of 433 30th St. SE. died Saturday Aug. 2, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Services at 10 AM on Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church. Rev. Joseph Polzin will officiate. Burial with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday and at the Church after 9:30 AM on Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, a son, Kevin and his fiancé Betty of Cedar Rapids, three brothers, Jerry and his wife, Terri and Dick and his wife, Janet all of Sioux City, Don and his wife, Joyce of Luverne, Minnesota and a sister, Virginia Hurni of Sioux City. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Jenn and a daughter-in-law, Deb Hansen of Hiawatha. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jerry and a brother, Billy.
Bob was born on Sept. 16, 1929 at Sergeant Bluff, the son of Harry and Melissa Betz Hansen. He married Shirley J. Gottschalk on Aug. 17, 1952 in Lowden. Bob was a meat cutter at Sun-Mart for 18 years and later was a switchman for the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad for 26 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and proudly served the Marines during the Korean War. Bob enjoyed collecting trains, watching sports and spending time with his beloved family. A memorial fund has been established in Bob's name. Military rites by American Legion Hanford Post No. 5.

Patricia B. Huston
Born in Rockford, Illinois on November 26, 1932
Departed on August 2, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Patricia B. Huston, 75, of 1003 30th St. NE. died Sat. Aug. 2, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Services at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Paul Fuessel will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda of Center Point and Katherine of Cedar Rapids, two sons, John of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and James of Cedar Rapids, three sisters and two brothers. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a son-in-law.
Patricia was born on Nov. 26, 1932 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Courtland and Minnie Burrows Whitson. She married Lewis E. Huston on April 16, 1949 in Racine, Wisconsin. He died in 2003. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Episcopal Church. Patricia was truly a wonderful wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. A memorial fund has been established.

Juana Elaine Harris
Born in DeWitt, IA on March 15, 1955
Departed on August 3, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Juana Elaine Harris, 53, of 5560 – 6th Street SW, died at Morning Sun Care Center, Sunday, August 3, 2008 after a long illness. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that there will be no services.

Survivors include four daughters, Rebecca Bell of Las Vegas, Maggie Glover and Rashonda Harris, both of Cedar Rapids, and Margo Williams of Newport, AK; six brothers, Eugene Bell of Wheatland, Lawrence and Clyde Bell, both of Wisconsin, Myron Bell of Monticello, WI, Wilbur Bell of Maquoketa, and Owen Bell of Kansas City, MO; and one sister, Sue Bell of Camanche.

Juana was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Georgia Reynolds, and a daughter, Raymonda Harris.

Juana was born on March 15, 1955 in DeWitt to Myron and Annilee Bell. She will be loved and missed by all.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Duane Henry Hartkemeyer

Duane Henry "Harky" Hartkemeyer, 82, of St. Augustine Beach, FL died August 5, 2008 at his home. Services at 11 AM Wednesday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Jonathan Offt of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Entombment with military honors in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday and at the chapel after 10:30 AM on Wednesday.

Survivors include Jean, his wife of 59 years, son Steve Tracie Hartkemeyer of Jacksonville Beach, FL, son Randy Chris Hartkemeyer of Hendersonville, TN, daughter Sandy Hartkemeyer of California, MD, sister Ardyth Seidel of Marion, IA, grandchildren Nicholas Kim Hartkemeyer of Colorado Springs, CO, Eric Reising of Nashville, TN, Jaymee Reising of Hendersonville, TN, Ryan Hollencamp of Hendersonville, TN, Aftan Sparkman of Jacksonville Beach, FL, great-granddaughter Hailey Nicole Hartkemeyer of Colorado Springs, Co., and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Tamara, and five sisters and two brothers.

Born to Christian and Ida Hartkemeyer, April 26, 1926 in Putney, SD, the family moved to Cedar Rapids, IA when Duane was six months old. Duane was a Cedar Rapids resident most of his life where he attended public schools. He was employed as a wholesale sales representative in the plumbing, utility, heating and cooling industry, retiring from A.Y. McDonald Co. in 1988. Duane was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Theater in World War II, honorably discharged in May, 1946.

Duane and Jean retired to St Augustine Beach, Fla in 1994 where Duane worked part time at Hamblen Hardware. Duane was an avid bowler rolling a perfect game in 1959 and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elks Club, and VFW Post 788 in Cedar Rapids. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed by all.

Frances Mae Hepker
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on November 21, 1923
Departed on September 12, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Frances Mae Hepker, 84, of Northbrook Manor died there on Friday Sept. 12, 2008 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Services at 11 AM on Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Karen Downey-Beals will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Park Price of Idaho falls, Idaho, Terry Alan Perkins of Cedar Rapids and a brother, Jack Barnett of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Holly Chip Kohl of Marion, Cindy Mark Newman and Park IV Jessica Price all of Boise, Idaho, Jamie Cody Farmer Perkins of Vinton, Samantha and Alan Perkins Jr. both of Cedar Rapids, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, a brother, Bill Barnett and a sister, Grace McKenna.
Frances was born on Nov. 21, 1923 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Ida Woolf Barnett. She married Martin Leo Hepker on July 31, 1944 in Sacramento, California. He died in April of 2008. Frances was a homemaker and checker at Eagle Foods for over 17 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Springville Presbyterian Church. Frances enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, going to the Hawkeye games with her sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Sid McKenna, and spending time, especially the holidays, with her friends and beloved family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Mercy.
Special thanks to Hospice of Mercy, especially Jenny Hihneke R.N., and to Northbrook Manor and wonderful staff for the loving care given to our mother.
