Christopher J. Kinney, 38, of Pine, Colorado, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, August 21, 2005, in an automobile accident near Pine, Colorado. Funeral Mass at 11 AM Saturday in All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. David O'Connor officiating. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday with a Wake service beginning at 7 PM.
Survivors include his father, Frank Kinney of Cedar Rapids, his fianc?, Amy Reeves and her daughter Carly Reeves, who were the loves of his life, two sisters Susan Westerdahl of Cedar Rapids, and Jane Kinney of Miami, Florida, two brothers Dan and wife Joan Kinney of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Andy and wife Zyann Kinney of Edwardsville, Illinois, nephews Zach and Tyler Westerdahl, Nolan and Eric Kinney, and nieces Kara and Rachel Kinney, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Donna Kinney.
Christopher was born May 27, 1967 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Frank and Donna Lessard Kinney. He graduated from Regis High School and attended Kirkwood College. He was currently employed as a manager of The Black Angus Restaurant in Denver, Colorado.
Chris will be remembered as a fun-loving, colorful, and gregarious person, whose love and knowledge of music spanned genres and decades. He had many and varied rich experiences in life, an incredible sense of humor, and generosity of spirit.
Chris believed in the grand gesture and took great pleasure in entertaining and being the host.
He had traveled far and finally had found his home in the Colorado mountains with his true love. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial contributions may be made to Xavier High School Foundation.

Maxine Elaine Kinch
Born in Sylvia, Iowa on December 10, 1921
Departed on September 13, 2005. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Maxine Elaine Kinch, 83, a resident of Elizabeth Martin Center, Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls, Iowa, died peacefully there on Tuesday September 13, 2005. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Turner East Funeral Home & Crematory where friends may call on Friday from 4-7 pm. Burial: Shiloh Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Leanne M. Hensley and husband Larry of Cedar Falls, and a son, Karl L. Kinch and wife Carla of Cedar Rapids, four grandchildren, Mallory and Vanessa Hensley, Taylor Harrell and Jordon Kinch.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, A. Kinch, a son, Walter L. Kinch and a daughter Marolee E. Harrell.
Maxine was born December 11, 1921 in Sylvia, Iowa, the daughter of Harry Ray Lutz and Rose Mildred Bluski. She married Walter A. Kinch on December 23, 1947 in Cedar Rapids. Maxine was a homemaker. Her children were very important to her. She graduated from Coe Collage with a BA degree in Physical Education. She was director of the Teen Club Activities at YMCA and enjoyed gardening and caring for pets.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.

Richard L. King
Born in Galena, Kansas on August 17, 1920
Departed on April 9, 2006. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Richard L."Dick" King, 85, of 750 30th St. SE died Sunday, April 9, 2006 at his home after a long illness. Services at 11 AM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Harry Fenwick will officiate. Burial with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wed.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred, two daughters, Mary Ann Harold Palmquist of Thousand Oaks, California and Deb Gladdin Grover of Marion, twin sons, Rick Stacy of Cedar Rapids and Ron of Hiawatha and two sisters, June Dukes and Colleen Fichtner both of Westminster, California. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Rich Jr., two brothers and one sister.
Dick was born on Aug. 17, 1920 in Galena, Kansas, the son of Albert and Barbara Bankston King. He married Mildred M. Quimby on Oct. 28, 1945 in Cedar Rapids. Richard was an appraiser for Auto Damage Appraisers for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was a life member of VFW Post No. 788 and proudly served in the Army during WWII. Dick was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and volunteering with his wife, Mildred. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed by his many friends and beloved family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Mercy Hospice in Dick's name. Military rites by VFW Post No. 788.

John W. Kinney
Born in Winterset, IA on January 17, 1930
Departed on June 13, 2006. Resided in Trenton, MO.

John W. Kinney, 76, of Trenton, MO died June 13, 2006 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa following an extended illness. Services 1 PM Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Friends may call Saturday starting at 12 PM at the Chapel until time of service. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Survivors include son John Kinney and wife Susan of Orlando, Fl, son Kelly Kinney of West Des Moines, daughter Debra Chiafos of Urbandale, son Timothy Razor and wife Pam of Cedar Rapids, daughter Tami Stephens and husband Mike of Cedar Rapids, daughter Jody Williams and husband James of Cedar Rapids, and his sweet heart Shirley Jean Riche of Trenton, Mo. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley I. Kinney, daughter Shelley Razor, and brother James Kinney.

John Walter Kinney was born January 17, 1930 the beloved son of James H. and Marion E. Eppel Kinney in Winterset, Iowa. He served his country honorably during the Korean War as a truck driver for the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Shirley I. Kinney on March 11, 1972 in Princeton, Mo. He worked at Cargill Inc. for 29 years retiring in 1989 as Superintendent. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and playing guitar for friends and family. He was a member of American Legion Post 31, Trenton, Mo. John was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, at John's request, memorial donations may be made to the Leisure Lake Association, Trenton, Missouri 64683.

Mary Kathleen Kruse
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 21, 1925
Departed on June 30, 2006. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Mary Kathleen Kruse, 81, of 299 25th Ave SW, died Friday, June 30, 2006, in University Hospital in Iowa City, following a long illness. Services at 1 PM Monday in Salem United Methodist Church. Rev. Linda Bibb will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 6 PM on Sunday and at the church after 12:30 PM on Monday.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Dean, three sons Tom Hillmer and wife Monica of Canton, Ohio, Gary Hillmer of Eldora, Iowa, Dennis Kruse and wife Sharon of Bothell, Washington, a daughter Cindi Claiborne of Cedar Rapids, a sister Joanna King of Cedar Rapids, and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Tom Scherrebeck.
Mary was born March 21, 1925, in Cedar Rapids to Walter and Anna Fieseler Scherrebeck. She married Dean L. Kruse on October 4, 1963 in Shueyville, Iowa. Mary was a seamstress doing bridal sewing, and upholstery most of her life. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, and a 25-year volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital. She loved to cook and travel. Her last big adventure was a Mexican-Riviera Cruise in November of 2005 with all her family.
Mary was very proud of all her family and their accomplishments, and was always there for them no matter what.
A memorial fund has been established.

Linda R. Kearney
Born in Cedar Rapids, IA on April 18, 1948
Departed on July 18, 2006. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Linda R. Kearney, 58, of 226 Drinkward St. NW. died Tuesday July 18, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hospitals from complications of a stroke. Services at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Larry Daubs will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday.
Survivors include her husband, Robert, a son Steven and his wife, Sue of Cedar Rapids, her mother, Betty Burmeister of Cedar Rapids, two sisters, Karen Chapman and her husband, Leonard and Joan Chapman and her husband, Harold, all of Center Point. She is also survived by a grandchild, Erin Burns. She was preceded in death by her father.
Linda was born on April 18, 1948 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Harold and Betty Kemper Burmeister. She married Robert G. Kearney on May 2, 1966 in Cedar Rapids. Linda was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church. Linda was a wonderful wife and mother; she will be greatly missed by her friends and beloved family. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Linda's name.

Faye Jeannette Kemp
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on September 18, 1916
Departed on October 19, 2006. Resided in Marion, IA.

Faye Jeanette Kemp, 90, of 439 Lindale Dr. Marion, died Thursday, October 19, 2006, in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Services at 10 AM Monday in First Baptist Church-Church of the Brethren with Rev. Tammy Buseman and Rev. Gordon Salsman officiating. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday and at the church after 9:30 AM on Monday.
Survivors include two sons Lee Kemp and wife Sandra of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, and Robert Kemp of Greeley, Colorado, two daughters Sharon Woodward and husband Neil Pappalardo of Fairfax, Virginia, and Patricia Ports and husband Michael of Columbus, Ohio, a sister Mildred Smith of Cedar Rapids, twelve grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Faye was born September 18, 1916 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Ralph and Lillian Stoecken Johnson. She married John A. Kemp on August 21, 1939 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1992. Faye was a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church-Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed country line dancing, and being with her friends and family.
She had a very strong faith in God.
Instead of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church-Church of the Brethren.
