Diana L. Quinby, 71, of 500 39th St. NE, died July 1, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 7, 2008 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Tom Felts will officiate. Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.

Survivors include her husband Wayne; children Randy and wife Cindy of Arizona, Rick and wife Barb of California, Scott and Craig both of Cedar Rapids, and daughter Stacy Reutzel and husband Jason also of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are her 8 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and her sister Judy O'Connor and husband Chuck of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Diana Lee Quinby was born June 2, 1937 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Leeland and Dorothy Jackson Knaack. She was united in marriage to Wayne Quinby on March 20, 1955 in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed decorating her home, shopping, time spent with family, and her dogs. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Diana's honor.

Eugene F. O'Brien
Born in Decorah, Iowa on February 15, 1922
Departed on August 19, 2010. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Eugene F. “Gene" O’Brien, 88, of 1100 25th St. NE, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 with lung cancer at the Hospice House of Mercy. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, with Father David Beckman officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #727. Friends may call from 4 until 7 PM on Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where a scripture service begins at 6:30 PM. In addition friends may call Monday at the church after 9:30 AM.

Survivors include his wife Frances “Fran", three daughters, Carol Crawford, Dallas, Texas; Patricia Kelly and husband Terry, Lake Worth, Fla.; and Ruthann Hadish and husband Gregg, Ames, Iowa; five grandchildren Jesse, David and Rebecca Kelly and Johnny and Paul Hadish. Also surviving are one brother, Stephen O’Brien, Dubuque and four sisters; Mary Fischer, Clutier; Marcella Rooney, Decorah; Loretta Orris, Cedar Rapids and Rose Frana, Calmar, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Frances Marie in 1955, daughter Sally in 2006 and two brothers, Robert and Leonard O’Brien.

Gene was born February 15, 1922 in Decorah, Iowa to Frank and Elizabeth (Carolan) O’Brien. He attended St. Benedict’s grade school in Decorah, and Immaculate Conception High School in Lansing, Iowa. In 1941 he enlisted in the Navy and served six years active duty and four years in the Navy Reserve. During WWII he spent three years in the South Pacific Fleet.

On August 28, 1950 he married Frances Frana at Spillville, Iowa. He went to college on the GI Bill and graduated from Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska in 1951 and was promptly recalled for 15 months of stateside duty during the Korean War. In 1952 he was employed by Collins Radio, later Rockwell Collins, in various accounting and finance areas for 35 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the National Accounting Association for many years.

Gene was a member of St. Matthews Church since 1952 where he sang in the Men’s Choir for over 30 years. He also served as an usher and helped with many funeral dinners. He was a member of the Rockwell Recreation Center where he exercised daily for 22 years. He and his wife of 60 years were involved in Marriage Encounter for over 25 years.

Gene loved his daughters, grandchildren and son-in-laws and was proud of their various and many accomplishments. The men in his cribbage and breakfast groups were special to him. He was a handicraftsman who designed and made many of the Early American furniture pieces in their home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Hospice House of Mercy or Camp Courageous.

Ruby Joan Mollenhauer
Born in Coggon, Iowa on March 28, 1935
Departed on December 11, 2009. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Ruby Joan Mollenhauer, 74, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Friday, December 11, 2009 at her home with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 14, 2009 at St. James United Methodist Church. Rev. Beth Straw will officiate with private family burial in Lafayette cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 PM Sunday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.

Survivors include her husband Clarence Mollenhauer; children Darlene Huston of Cedar Rapids, Julie Fife of Des Moines, Clarence Mollenhauer, Jr. of University Place, WA, Lori Sykes of Marengo, and Marsha Reihmann of High Amana; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; six sisters Gladys Snethen of Cedar Rapids, Arlene Robinson of Hagerstown, MD, Dorothy Snethen of Cedar Rapids, Mary Pederson of Monticello, Caroline Lala of Center Point, and Mildred Boland of Phoenix, AZ; and two brothers Cleve Coberly of Center Point, and John Coberly of Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother George “Arnold" Coberly.

Ruby was born March 28, 1935 in Coggon, the daughter of George and Inez (Vredenburg) Coberly. She married Clarence L. Mollenhauer on February 27, 1955 in Cedar Rapids. She worked for Bishops in Cedar Rapids as a Receptionist and for Pickwick Corporation of Cedar Rapids. Ruby was a member of the Cedar Rapids St. James United Methodist Church, and the Pythian Sisters of Center Point. Ruby was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mollenhauer family.

Darlene Rae Mollenhauer
Born in Vinton, IA on February 16, 1956
Departed on December 20, 2009. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Service: Saturday, December 26, 2009
Darlene Rae Mollenhauer, 53, of Cedar Rapids died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at her home with her family by her side. A funeral service officiated by Reverend Beth Straw will be held on Saturday December 26 at St. James Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids at 1:30 with a visitation at the Church on December 26 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. A private burial will be held in Lafayette cemetery following the service.

Darlene Rae Mollenhauer was born in Vinton, IA, on February 16, 1956; she was the daughter of Clarence L. Mollenhauer and Ruby J. (Coberly) Mollenhauer. She was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, as well as a member of the Emmaus Community. Darlene loved spending time with her grandchildren and crocheting.

Survivors are Darlene’s father Clarence L Mollenhauer, children Jeremiah (Jacci) Usher, Briana (Todd) Evans, Nathan (Jade) Usher, Leah (Josh) LaBarr all from Cedar, sister Marsha Reihman of Amana, Sister Lori Sykes of Marengo, Sister Julie Fife of Des Moines, brother Clarence Mollenhauer Jr. of University Place, Washington, Grandchildren Aryana, Cain, Isis, Destiny, Garrett, Gage, Nathan, Gwendolyn, Michael, Jason, and by 8 step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother Ruby (Coberly) Mollenhauer.

All Memorials should be directed to the Mollenhauer/Huston family

Lucille H. Overhulser
Born in New Castle, Nebraska on November 16, 1924
Departed on March 5, 2010. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Lucille H. Overhulser, 85, of 801 20th Ave SW, died Friday, March 5, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services will be held at 2:30 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Mark Osterhaus of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation from 3 to 6 PM Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and at the chapel after 2 PM on Monday.
Survivors include her daughter Andrianna Gifford of So Sioux City, Nebraska, granddaughters, Pamela & Nick Rupe of Cedar Rapids, Mary and Lee Dean of Sioux City, Iowa, and Margaret Hammer of So Sioux City, Nebraska, grandsons, Robert, Willard, Troy and Marshall & Sarah Gifford all of So Sioux City, Nebraska, two sisters Mickie Paul of North Sioux City, South Dakota, and Marcella & Ralph Clark of Spencer, Iowa, a sister-in-law Mary Ellen Redl of Cedar Falls, Iowa, many nieces & nephews, special friends Wayne and Jane Miller and Bob and Ruth Milner all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Joyce and Merlin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Brother John Redl, son in law Larry Gifford, and grandson Larry Gifford Jr.
Lucille was born November 16, 1924 in Newcastle, Nebraska to Peter and Helen Redl. She married Roy Lund in 1946. After his death she married Wayne V. Overhulser on September 16, 1972 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1976. She worked in the packaging department at Quaker Oats retiring in 1997.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Lenos Garrah Muret
Born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on October 16, 1932
Departed on December 27, 2009. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Service: Thursday, December 31, 2009
Garrah Muret, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died December 27, 2009 at Keystone Cedars following an extended illness. Memorial services will take place at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 31, 2009 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer will officiate. Inurnment will take place at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Columbarium. Arrangements entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Surviving in addition to his wife Carole, are his children Don Muret and wife Dana of Charlotte, NC and his children Madeline and Carolyn, Suzanne MacLaughlin and husband Scott of Naperville, IL and her children Jenna and Alex, and Bob Muret and wife Jeanne of Raleigh, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Suzanne Cottrell.

Lenos Garrah Muret was born October 16, 1932 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the son of Lenos Herschel and Lillian (Haskill) Muret. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign and served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to Carole Scherwat on February 23, 1957 in Chicago, IL. He moved to Cedar Rapids and began a 35 year career as an Electrical Engineer with Rockwell Collins, retiring in 1994. He was a lifetime member of the IEEE, and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. He was an avid sailor and enjoyed boating at Lake MacBride, Lake Rathbun, and Door County, WI. His passions included live theater, music, art, and traveling the world. He studied genealogy and traced his family history back to the 17th century. He also was known to enjoy delicious foods, fine wines, and the occasional cigar. He will be fondly remembered for his insight and aptitude to fix anything. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Prostate Cancer Foundation.
