Aloe L. Waterbury, 90, died Thursday June 8, 2006 at her home in Methwick Manor following a lingering illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hope United Church Of Christ, Hiawatha, where friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. The Rev. Fredrick Mellberg will officiate. Burial: Shiloh cemetery, Hiawatha. Turner West Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Aloe LaVonne Gorkow was born September 10, 1915 in McGregor, Iowa, to Charles and Lorena Gorkow. She was the youngest of 9 children. Aloe married John H. Waterbury on July 27, 1934 in Waukon. He died in 1982. They lived and operated a truck farm in rural Cedar Rapids on Blairs Ferry Road. Aloe wove rugs to sell along with produce from the truck farm. Aloe was a member of Hope United Church Of Christ in Hiawatha. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family.
Aloe is survived by two daughters; LaVonne Angelo Carter of Cedar Rapids, and Dreena Edward Faselt of Dewitt, a sister, Cleta Lang, of Monona, Iowa, 7 grandchildren, Barry Sue Carter of Coralville, Mark Terri Carter of Palo, Tim Carter of North Liberty, Tony Ann Carter of Swisher, Brian Faselt of Dewitt, John Nancy Faselt, of Iowa City and Roger DeAnna Faselt of Las Vegas, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope United Church Of Christ or Hospice of Mercy.

Roberta L. Walters
Born in Creston, IA on August 6, 1958
Departed on June 21, 2006. Resided in Hiawatha, IA.

Roberta L. Walters, 47, of 453 Pirate Cove in Hiawatha died Wed. June 21, 2006 at Windmill Manor in Coralville after a brief illness. Memorial services at 11 AM on Sat. July 1, 2006 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 10 AM on Sat. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her mother, Mabel, of Mount Ayr, five sisters, Mary Charles Henry of Tipton, Meg Walters Phil Baird of Canyon, California, Theresa Walters of Iowa City, Cathy Jeff Laylin of Peculiar, Missouri, and Joan Mike Durner of Craig, Colorado. She is also survived by an aunt, Sister Carolyn Walters of Davenport and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father.
Roberta was born on Aug. 6, 1958 in Creston, the daughter of Francis and Mabel Petago Walters. She was employed at Aegon for several years. Roberta enjoyed going to movies, traveling, baking, her pet cats and especially loved time spent with her beloved family and friends. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Roberta's name.

Dorothy G. Williams
Born on October 9, 1917
Departed on July 6, 2006. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Dorothy G. Williams, 88, 2029 Birchwood Dr. NE died Thursday, July 6, 2006 following a brief illness. Services: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment is private. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home on Monday from 5PM to 8PM. The Rev. Kay Slocum of First Lutheran Church will officiate.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn Keller and Dorothy Bertch both of Cedar Rapids and Barbara Erickson Robert of Mt. Vernon; a son, Robert E. Williams Ingrid of Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert J. Williams in 1971, and a brother Herbert Hubler on April 1, 2006.
Dorothy was born October 9, 1917 in Cedar Bluff, IA the daughter of Edward and Ellen Marker Hubler. She married Robert J. Williams on June 4, 1940 in Vinton. Dorothy worked at Armstrong's Department Store as a furrier and seamstress for 28 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of First Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens, working with them as long as she was able. Dorothy was also the world's greatest grandmother.

Phyllis E. Waltermyer
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on February 14, 1918
Departed on October 3, 2006. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Phyllis E. Waltermyer, 88, a resident of heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006, in St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Services at 10 AM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Sneller of Cedar Christian Church will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 9 AM to service time on Saturday.
There are no immediate survivors.
Phyllis was born February 14, 1918 in Cedar Rapids to George E. and Julia T. Uridil Peacock. She married Gerald Lee Waltermyer on August 18, 1937 in Cedar Rapids he died in 1987.
Phyllis was a homemaker and longtime member of Cedar Christian Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Courageous of Iowa.

Keith Eugene Weber

Keith Eugene Weber, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died suddenly Sunday, October 15, 2006 at his residence. Services 9 AM Thursday October 19, 2006 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Thomas Carver of Shueyville United Methodist Church will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.

Survivors include his four daughters and their husbands: Vickie Weber and Don O'Neill of Marion, Stephanie and Martin Shaw of Ely, Melody and Dennis Cook of Cedar Rapids, and Kim and Todd Davis of Vinton. His grandchildren Tony and Katie Cook, Karissa Davis, and Adalynn Shaw. He is also survived by a sister and a brother in law LaVonne Bonnie and Cecil Moore of Bartow, Florida, nieces and nephews, and friend Jane Severide.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 41 years, Marilyn, his parents Henry and Dade Weber, two brothers Donald and Jerry, and a grandson Christopher Cook.

Keith was born September 28, 1929 in North English the beloved son of Henry and Dade Blough Weber. He graduated from North English High School in 1947 and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He married Marilyn Utterback in Sigourney on April 27, 1952. Keith worked at Wilson's and Farmstead for over 40 years; he was the P-3 Union Chief Steward for many years. He was an avid hunter and trap shooter, and he was a life member of the Iowa State Trapshooting Association, the Amateur Trapshooting League, and the Otter Creek Gun Club. He spent many years on the Cedar Rapids Trapshooting League and was at one time the President and a Board Member. During his trapshooting years, he shot over 150, 000 16 yard targets, 75, 000 handicapped targets, and over 35, 000 doubles. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 5. Keith was a loving father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial fund in Keith's honor has been established.

Donald E. Young
Born in New Jersey on August 11, 1924
Departed on November 22, 2002. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Donald E. Young, 78, of 3704 Elmwood Dr. NE, formerly of New Jersey, died November 22, 2002, in St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota following heart surgery. Services at 10:30 AM Wednesday in St. Pius X Catholic Church. Rev. Donald Klein will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 4 PM and from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday with a Vigil service beginning at 7 PM.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years Dorothy, two sons Donald Young and wife Sandy of Marlboro, New Jersey, and James Young and wife Sandy of Cedar Rapids, a daughter Marianne Wanerus and husband Mark of Marion, five grandchildren, and one Step grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Alan Young.
Donald was born August 11, 1924 in Jersey City, New Jersey to James and Anna Burke Young. He married Dorothy Hausser on April 16, 1943 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Donald was the shipping manager at Quaker Oats retiring in March of 1986. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, traveling, all types of family activities, and working around his house.
Donald touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with. He will be dearly missed by his wife and family. He will remain forever in our hearts.
Memorial contributions may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital, Brown Mills, New Jersey.

Kathie A. Waite
Born in Independence, IA on July 28, 1955

Kathie A. Waite, 51, of Marion died October 30, 2006 in her home following a 2 year illness. Services: 1 PM Thursday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Pastor Thelma Hembroff of Unity Christian Center will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.

Survivors include husband Greg Waite of Marion, daughters Leminda Jerry Bass of Oelwein, and Tessa Lynn Waite of Marion; grandchildren Derek Waite, Abigale Bass, and Mason Garland; mother Rosemary Hartley of Springville; brothers and sisters Donald Sandy Latham, David Rachael Latham both of Oelwein, Susan Den Denny and Dennis Becky Latham both of Springville, Douglas Judy Latham of Midway, Daniel J. Latham of Cedar Rapids, Sandra K. Lange of Springville, and Andrea Ben Baily of Oelwein. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Kathie was preceded in death by her father Duane Everett Latham, and a sister Michelle F. Ohl.

Kathie Ann Waite was born July 28, 1955 in Independence the beloved daughter of Duane Everett and Rosemary Kathryn Harkin Latham. She was married to Greg Waite. She was employed since 1974 at Rockwell Collin s as a Electronics Technician. She was a member of Unity Christian Center and I.B.E.W. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund in Kathie's honor has been established.
