Jerry Z. Young
Jerry Z. Young, 63, of Carpentersville died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
He was born on September 24, 1941 in Elgin. He was the son of Edwain T., Sr. and Virginia B. (nee Lusted) Young. Jerry was a life long resident of the Dundee area, a 1959 graduate of Dundee Community High School. Following graduation from high school, Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1959-1962. He was former owner and operator of J Z Young Landscaping in Carpentersville and has worked in the Landscaping field his entire professional career and was an Illinois Certified Nurseryman. Currently he was employed by Landscape Concepts of Grays Lake working as yard manager. He was a former President and member of the Imperial Scots Booster Club, as well as being a former member of the Dundee Rotary Club and the Dundee Jaycees. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of West Dundee. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary L. (nee Schuring) Young. They married on July 6, 1963; their daughters, Jennifer (Scott) Rehberg of East Dundee and Julia Young of Carpentersville; two grandsons, Derek and Tyler Neuman; and a granddaughter, Hannah Rehberg; four sisters, Nancy (Kenneth) Krueger of Rockford, Sally (the late Robert) Rattray of Algonquin, Julia (the late Rodger) Henderson of Huntley, Kathy (Joseph) Mageri of Cary; four brothers, Thomas (Dolly) of Bradenton, FL, Jack (Chris Munday) of Manchester, Iowa, Edwain, Jr. (Barbara) of West Dundee and Phillip of Belividere; his brother-in-law, Joseph Martini of Washington. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by parents; and two sisters, Catherine Young and Gloria Martini.
Family and friends will meet for funeral services on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, West Dundee. Mr. Frank Hewitt, Director of Parish Ministries will officiate. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-8 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Saturday in church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be made to either the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 401 W. Main St., West Dundee, IL 60118 or the Walter Payton Cancer Fund, 1336 Basswood Road, Schaumberg, IL 60173.

Dorothy K. Hahn
Dorothy K. Hahn, 89 of Elgin passed away Sunday, May 2, 2004 in the Hill Top Center, Lake Bluff, IL. She was born on April 5, 1915 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI and was the daughter of William and Minnie (Shank) Eaton. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist of Elgin.
Survivors include 3 children, Ken (Sharon) Hahn of Crystal Lake, IL, Karen (Franz) Biehl of New Mexico, and Judy (Constantin) DeGarder of California; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.

Gary John Jurczak
Gary John Jurczak, 55, passed away May 2, 2004 in Phoenix, AZ. He was a native of Carpentersville, IL and an 18-year resident of Honolulu, HI. He had recently moved to Phoenix, AZ to be close to family due to his failing health. He had worked for many years at Eagle Food located in the Meadowdale Shopping Center in Carpentersville, both before and after service in the Navy. He had retired early from an administrative civilian position with the Army in Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cathy Jurczak, and survived by brother, William Jurczak (Debby); sisters, Debbie Carroll (Terry) and Paulette Deibert (Gary); nephew and niece Adam and Diana Jurczak and nieces, Courtney and Brittany Carroll. Private services were held in Scottsdale, AZ.

Kathryn E. Haggart
Kathryn E. Haggart, 81, formerly of Algonquin, died peacefully Tuesday, May 10, 2005. She was born in Olearia, Ohio, April 16, 1924.
She is survived by five children, Beverly Eineke (Garland), Linda Wicke, Debra Mann (Ray), Gary Wiggins (Mary), and Cathy Hewitt (Mike); 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Haggart; a son, Robert Wiggins Jr.; a grandson, Richard Wiggins.
Services will be at the Congregational Church of Algonquin on Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m. with a private family luncheon following.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lymphoma Cancer Society in memmory of her granddaughter-in-law, Becky Connell.
Centered in my family. Content in that connectedness. I pass knowing my life shows in them. Solid and present always.

Marisa C. Martinez
Marisa C. Martinez, 26, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago. She was born July 14, 1978 in Elgin the daughter of Mario and Teresa (Gudino) Martinez.
Marisa was a 1997 Graduate of Elgin High School, she attended Elgin Community College and was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church. While attending college she volunteered at the Jayne Shover Easter Seals, United Way and the Boys and Girls club of Elgin. She had a great love of people and thought nothing of helping others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her parents, Mario and Teresa Martinez of Elgin; her brother, Jerry (Tiffany) Martinez of New Lisbon, WI; her grandparents, Faye Jaynes and Feliz Martinez, Josephine Gudino; her niece, Hailey Lynne Martinez; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
preceded in death by her grandfather, Marcos Gudino; an uncle, Alan Jaynes; and a cousin, Jeffrey Gudino in infancy.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 AM Saturday, May 14, 2005 at St. Laurence Catholic Church (Corner of Jewitt and Standish), Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Catholic cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM Friday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of mass in church. Memorials may be made in her name to the Boys and Girls Club of Elgin.

Angela M. Wisdom
Angela M. Wisdom, age 100, died on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the Hayward Nursing Home, Hayward, WI.
Angela Marie Klocker was born November 8, 1904 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Clonan) Klocker. She graduated from St. Patrick's Academy in Chicago. She was joined in marriage to Harry E. Wisdom on July 20, 1929 in Oak Park, IL. They lived in Chicago for a time after their marriage and then moved to Twin Lakes, WI in 1950, and then to Crystal Lake, IL. They retired to their Lost Land Lake home, where they lived until moving into Hayward in the early 1990's. Harry died in 1995. Angela was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward and a past member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Cable. She enjoyed cooking and reading cookbooks.
Angela is survived by three sons, George (Grace) of Barnes, WI and Elgin, IL, Carl (Margaret) of Aurora, IL and John (Patricia) of Elgin, IL; one daughter, Joan (David) Rothering of Green Bay, WI; 25 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Dolores Kutz, Hayward, WI; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry; her brother, Karl Klocker; and her sister, Bernice Davern.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 27, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church beginning at 11:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be at St. Ann cemetery in Cable, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hayward Regional Hospice or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Helen E. Baker
Helen E. Baker, 91, of Elgin passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2004 in Tower Hill Health Care Center in South Elgin. She was born December 3, 1912 in Ashton, IL and was the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Groff. She had been a resident of Elgin since 1940.
Surviving are one daughter, Joyce (Edward) Stoffregen of Elgin; three grandchildren, Vickie Stoffregen, David Stoffregen, and Steven (Shannon) Stoffregen; five great-grandchildren; two nephews, Walter and Larry (Barbara) Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Isadore in 1996; two sisters, and two brothers.
Private graveside services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. There will be no visitation. Laird Funeral Home is in charge of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Margaret Besore Johnson
Margaret Besore Johnson, 94, of St. Charles, died Thursday, May 13, 2004, at her beloved homestead.
She was born December 27, 1909 in Urbana, IL, the daughter of Isaac and Grace (Kearns) Besore. When Margaret was a children, her father made a wagon for her. It was pulled by her pet ram named Billy.
She was a University of Illinois graduate majoring in Botany. Margaret married Everett "Cracker" Johnson after he proposed to her as she was plowing a field. In 1935 they moved to St. Charles.
Mrs. Johnson was an antique dealer in the St. Charles area. Margaret loved flowers and farming, and she built a rock garden and fish pond with a waterfall on the homestead property.
Everett died in May of 1967.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 12 noon at Mt. Olive cemetery in Mayview, IL.

William Nelles
William Nelles, 78 of Carpentersville died Thursday, May 13, 2004 at the Heritage Manor of Elgin. He was born on December 25, 1925 in Denver, CO, the son of William L. and Mary (nee Brautigam) Nelles.
Bill was a 48 year resident of the Carpentersville area. He was a former 28 year employee of Allis Chalmers Tractor Manufacturing. He was a United States Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Martha (nee Chaney) Nelles. They were married on May 12, 1951. Two sons: William (Lori) of Massachusetts and John (Terri) Nelles of Elgin. Grandfather of Andrew, Zane and Zenobia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert H. Nelles on July 7, 1984; and a sister, Eloise Bohnen.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 15, 2004 from 9-12 in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Services and Interment will be private. Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Theodore V. Pestor
Theodore V. Pestor, 87, of Evansville, formerly Elgin, IL, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 15, at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Independent Baptist Church in Evansville, WI with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Ward Funeral Home, Evansville is assisting the family.
