Dorothy R. Stege
Dorothy R. Stege, 76, of Elgin died Sunday, September 28 at her home. She was born April 7, 1927 in Elgin to Gustva and Anna (Rydell) Swanson.
Dorothy married Howard Stege, Sr. on July 23, 1945 and he preceded her on February 18, 1989. Dorothy was a supervisor for Lec Wards of Elgin and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Elgin.
Survivors include her son, Howard "Butch" Stege, Jr. of Elgin; her special son, Bob Knizner of Elgin; her daughter, Sandra (Donald) Beers of Johnston City, IL; her sister, Nancy Grant of Johnston City, IL; two grandchildren, Jeff Grizzell of Johnston City, IL and Howard H. Stege of Senoia, GA; two great-grandchildren, Vanessa Stege of Lithia, FL and Trevor Grizzell of Johnston City, IL; her sister-in-law, Hertha Swanson of Mantle, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Stege, Sr., a sister, Betty Meadows; a brother, Richard Swanson; a grandson, Howard Altepeter.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m. at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Chapel, Elgin with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial will take place at Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday until the time for the services at 1:00.

G.P. "Mike" Bolger
G.P. "Mike" Bolger, age 65, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Naples, Florida, passed away September 28, 2001 in Cleveland.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lawrence Bolger; two daughters, Marcia (Jeffrey) Tanner and Susan (Chris) Smith; four grandchildren, Erin and Lauren Tanner, Shannon and Haley Smith; a sister, Patsy (Glen) Lose; a brother, Gary Bolger.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 2 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2256 Clague Rd., Westlake, Ohio. Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Berry Funeral Home, 23040 Center Ridge Rd., Westlake. Memorials may be given to the Visiting Nurse Association of Cleveland Hospice, 2500 E. 22nd St., Cleveland, Ohio 44115. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of local arrangements.

Blanche G. Smiley
Blanche G. Smiley, 93, of Hampshire passed away Saturday, September 29, 2001 in her home.
She was born February 17, 1908 in Orfordville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Andrew and Belle (Eidahl) Lee.
On May 29, 1929, she married Frederic J. Smiley in Clinton, Iowa. She was a graduate of Orfordville High School, Milwaukee Teachers College, and Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. She began her teaching career in the rural schools of Rock Co., WI and after moving to Hampshire, she taught in the Hampshire Elementary School retiring in 1972. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hampshire, the Hampshire-Burlington Senior Citizens, the Hampshire Women's Club and the Elgin Area Retired Teacher's Association.
Surviving are a grandson, Frederic James Smiley of Westmont; two step grandsons, Todd (Kelli) Peterson of Germantown Hills and Joel Peterson of Superior, WI; and her daughter-in-law, Connie (Robert) Peterson of Peoria.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred on August 14, 1991; a son, James on January 31, 1980; a daughter, Barbara; and two infant daughters, Joan and Sandra.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church, 207 Grove Ave, Hampshire with the Rev. Dan Davis officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 3:30 PM in the Lutheran cemetery in Orfordville, WI.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St, Hampshire and at the church on Wednesday prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 service time.
Memorials may be made to the First United Mithodist Church of Hampshire or to the Hampshire Ambulance Association, 202 Washington St., Hampshire, IL, 60140.

Walter Julius Thies
Walter Julius Thies, 86, of Escondido, CA, formerly of East Dundee and Elgin, IL, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2001.
He was born April 24, 1915 in Barrington, Illinois.
He served our country in the U. S. Army in battles at Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe during World War II. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Valley Foursquare Church of Escondido.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Thies of Escondido, CA; his brother, Henry Thies of Elgin, IL; his sister, Helen Lorenz of Elgin, IL; and nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service and Graveside Services with Military Honors were held at Riverside National cemetery, Riverside, CA.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to: Cathedral of the Valley, Foursquare Church Building Fund, 927 Idaho Avenue, Escondido, CA, 92025.

Charles J. "Sonny" Wolfe
Charles J. "Sonny" Wolfe, 68, of Palmetto, Florida, formerly of Carpentersville, died Friday, September 28, 2001 in his home.
He was born in Monesson, Pennsylvania on August 13, 1933, the son of Floyd and Myrtle Wolfe.
He was a former 30 year resident of Carpentersville. He was a graduate of Purdue University and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a retired Teamster.
He is survived by two children, Charles Kevin (Jaye) Wolfe of Carpentersville and Roxann (Corky) Sutfin of East Dundee; a sister, Harriet (Dan) Guth of Palmetto, Florida. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy and a sister, Wanda Connors.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at 11 AM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 9 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.
Memorials may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.

Louis R. Derma
Louis R. Derma, 73, of Hampshire, formerly of Elgin, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2002 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. He was born March 11, 1929 in Chicago, the son of Josef and Bronislawa (Gutowska) Derma.
He served in the Air Force following WWII. Louis married Corrine D. Monegato on December 14, 1957 in Oak Park. They resided in Bensenville for 12 years before moving to Elgin in 1975. They have been residents of Hampshire since July of 2001.
Mr. Derma had been employed at AT&T; Teletype of Skokie for 31 years. He also worked at Crest Photo of Elgin for 9 years and most recently at Sears at the Spring Hill Mall for the past 7 years.
He was a former member of the Elgin Moose, a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Hampshire and formerly of St. Mary's of Elgin, and the West Suburban Lipidary Club, and the Elgin Rock and Mineral Society (ERAMS).
Surviving are his wife, Corrine; his daughter, Bettina Derma of Hampshire; a sister, Rose Stelmack in Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Michael James Derma in 1992; four sisters, Angeline, Helen, Julia and Anna; and four brothers, Frank, Andrew, John and Joe.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday, October 4, 2002 at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson St., Hampshire with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Nicolosi officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8:30 PM, Thursday at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire and at the Church on Friday, prior to Mass from 10 to 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family are appreciated.
Arrangements were handled by the Fredrick Funeral Home.

Carol A. Wenner
Carol A. Wenner (nee Gregory), 67, of Arlington Heights, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2002 at Northwest Community Hospital. She was born September 10, 1935 in Chicago.
She retired as Escrow Manager from Ticor Title, Schaumburg after 25 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Jeffrey) Warner; a son, David (Kathleen) Wenner; five grandchildren, Ryan and Bryce Warner and Lauren, Hank and Sam Wenner; her mother, Anne (late Earl) Gregory; one brother, William (Barbara) Gregory; and was Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Wenner.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2002 at 10:00 AM at St. Simon's Episcopal Church, 717 W. Kirchoff Rd., Arlington Heights.
Interment will be private.

Elizabeth M. Battista
Elizabeth M. Battista, 44, of South Elgin, passed away Monday, September 29, 2003 in Sherman Hospital. She was born October 14, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of James and Geri Battista.
She is survived by her husband, James Moore; her parents; a sister, Cathy Wells.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. A time of remembrance will be held at 6:00 p.m., hosted by Chaplain Dick Gilberts. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the family.

Jim E. Deards
Jim E. Deards, 78, of Carpentersville, IL passed away Sunday, September 28, 2003 at Heritage Nursing Home.
He was born January 29, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI.
He was in the United States Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Pat Deards; his children, Mercedes Jirkovsky and Lenore Rogman; two grandchildren, James Jirkovsky and Amber Rogman; his brother, Russell.
Memorial Services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, October 4, 2003 at Faith Community Church, 9346 Virginia Rd, Lake in the Hills.
Visitation will be at the time of Service only.

Richard Scott (Negron) Erling
Richard Scott (Negron) Erling, 37 of Cape Coral, Florida formerly of Elgin passed away Thursday, September 25 from injuries from a construction accident. He was born August 27, 1966 in Elgin and was the son of Dale and Nancy Erling.
Surviving are his wife, Lynn; one daughter, Amber Erling of Streamwood, IL; two stepchildren, Tanya and Ryan Baum of Elgin; his parents, Dale and Nancy Erling of South Elgin; one sister, April Erling of South Elgin; one brother, David (Renee) Erling of Lake in the Hills, IL; his father, Rene Negron of Elgin; two step-grandchildren, Taylor Baum and Mikayla Crumpton of Elgin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin with Rev. Thomas Niermann officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Emmert Ray Miller
Emmert Ray Miller, 84, of Hot Springs Village, AR passed away September 28, 2003 at Advance Care Hospital. He was born April 10, 1919 in Clay City, IN. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elgin, IL and Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren. He was a member of NEBA and Bowmen of the Fox. Emmert lived in East Dundee, IL and worked as a general contractor with his father and brother as E.H. Miller & Sons's for over 35 years. He retired and moved to Hot Springs Village, AR where he resided for over 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle (Barker) Miller; second wife, Florence Rae Miller; parents Ezra and Pearl (Silvis) Miller and sister Alma Fridley.
He is survived by sons, Gary (Kathy) Miller of Elgin, IL and Craig (Sue) Miller of Hampshire, IL, daughter DeeAnn Hare of Hampshire, IL, step-daughter Carolyn (Jim) Bacak of Elgin, IL and brother Arthur M. (Thelma) Miller of Elgin, IL, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Cremation services will be conducted. Caruth Village Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ambrose L. "Andy" Rysewyk
Ambrose L. "Andy" Rysewyk, 75, of Sleepy Hollow, formerly of Elgin died Monday, September 29, 2003 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Hoffman Estates surrounded by his children. He was born in Coleman, Wisconsin on February 17, 1928, the son of Andrew and Henrietta (nee Van Laarhoven) Rysewyk.
Mr. Rysewyk was a 31 year resident of the area. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for Western Electric, AT&T; and Lucent Technologies and retired after 42 years of service. Andy had accomplished much in life; he was a very hard working man who believed every day was a day that more could be done. Even in play, Andy enjoyed most of those games that required a person to think. He was a brilliant man whose accomplishments received awards and were recognized by the United States government with several patents.
He is survived by ten children, Brenda (Craig) Szklany of Florida, David (Tina) of California, Susan Metz of Elgin, Larry of California, Sherie (Dan) Peterson of Algonquin, Randy (Parichat) of Nevada, Bryce of Nevada, Lyn (Kenton) Bergman of Washburn, IL, Denice (Art) Aviles of Chad, Africa, and Scott (Vicky) of Nevada; 20 grandchildren; three sisters, Marcella (Corby) Van Lorynen, Christina Salefsky both of Wisconsin and Marie (Bob) Ericson of Washington; two brothers, Bernard (June) Rysewyk and Peter (Lorraine) Rysewyk, both of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 35 years, Frances Ann Gilles Rysewyk on January 5, 1995; his brother, John Rysewyk.
Family and friends will meet for Funeral Mass on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee. The Rev. Richard A. Rosinski will officiate. Burial will be Saturday in the St. John Catholic cemetery, Coleman, Wisconsin. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee.

Antoinette C. Seyller
Antoinette C. Seyller, 83, of New Lebanon, passed away Monday, September 29, 2003 at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb.
She was born November 14, 1919 in Burlington, IL, the daughter of George and Josephine (Seisser) Herrmann. Antoinette married James A. Seyller at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire on May 7, 1938 and they have been residents of New Lebanon for over 60 years.
Mrs. Seyller was a member of the St. Catherine Catholic Church of Genoa and formerly of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Societies.
She had formerly been employed by Playskool Mfg. of Hampshire and at Automatic Electric in Genoa. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and wood working.
Surviving are her husband, Jim; daughters, Carol (Bill) Cleveland of New Lebanon, Janice (Ron) White and Charlene (Bob) Miller both of Genoa; son, Jim (Mary) Seyller of New Lebanon; ten grandchildren, Kris (Pat) Adams of Wisconsin, Bill (Jenny) Cleveland and David Cleveland both of Genoa, Dale (Deirdra) White and Karlene (Steve) Fleming both of Elgin, Jim (Jill) White and Cory (Linda) Miller both of Hampshire, Jeff (Michelle) Miller of Tennesse, Douglas Seyller of Bloomingdale, and Jennifer (Kurt) Kollwelter of Geneva; 16 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Catherine Haderer of rural Sycamore, Dolores Andersen of Burlington, Virginia Keller and Isabelle Stadler both of Hampshire, and Charlotte (Robert) Seyller of Burlington; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Albert Herrmann, Carl Herrmann and George Herrmann, Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 3, at St. Catherine Catholic Church, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa with Father Al Newman officiating. Burial will be in the St. Catherine Catholic cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the St. Catherine Catholic Church in Genoa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Hampshire Rescue Squad or the Genoa-Kingston Education Foundation.
