Richard Lee Coleman
Richard Lee Coleman, 57, of Oswego, IL., passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2001, at Provena Mercy Hospital. He was born February 26, 1943 in Aurora.
Mr. Coleman was a long time member of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Aurora. He was employed for 30 years at Lucent Technologies, as a manager of Product Development Shops, in Naperville.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 12 years, Greta S. Coleman of Oswego; a daughter, Linette (Wayne) Knauer of Wauconda; a son Michael (Stephanie) Coleman of St. Louis, MO; a step-son, Jonathan (Sharon) Silver of Cleveland, OH; eight grandchildren, Austin, Kyle, Alyssa Knauer of Wauconda, Alexandria, J. Samuel McCabe of St. Louis, and Madisen Coleman of St. Louis, Alec Silver of Cleveland, OH, and Robert Marshall of West Chicago, his mother Evelyn B. Coleman of Aurora.
He is preceded in death by his father Harold Lee Coleman.
Visitation for Mr. Coleman will be held on Friday, February 9, 2001 at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery, IL. from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2001 at the Dieterle Memorial Home at 10:00 a.m. Rev. John D. Elko
John D. Elko, 83, of Aurora, IL. passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2001 at Elmwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 25, 1917 in Pennsylvania. John was a member of Holy Angels Church. He began his 30 year career with Caterpillar Inc. in 1942 in Peoria. He was subsequently transferred to the Aurora plant in 1959. He retired in 1972 as an assembly line supervisor. John loved his bowling for the Caterpillar, Inc. bowling team. He also held a passion for sports and gardening. He was a member of both the Loyal Order of Moose Moose Club and the Tiger Athletic Club.
Survivors include his loving wife Mary of Aurora; two sons, Dave (Lynn) Elko of Oswego, IL. and John (Lucille) Elko Jr., of Benton, IL.; His grandchildren, Kevin (Casey) and Amanda Elko of Benton, IL. and Kristin and Jason Elko of Oswego; a great grandson Logan Elko; two sisters Sophie Swigonski and Mary (Bill) Hill both of Benton, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mike Elko and his wife Mary; and a brother in law, Max Swigonski.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2001 at Holy Angels Church. Fr. Dean Russell will officiate. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery. Visitation will be from 5-7p.m. on Wednesday, February 7 at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora. John J. Leigh
John J. Leigh, 82, of Aurora and North Aurora passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Countryside Care Centre. He was born July 22, 1918 in Oswego IL., the son of the late Grant and Margaret (Pauley) Leigh.
John worked for the Postal Service as a letter carrier for more than 30 years. He also owned a television sales and repair service in North Aurora. John was a WWII veteran where he served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his son, John (Cindy) Leigh of North Aurora; his daughter, Linda (Douglas) Moody of Orange Park, Florida; five grandchildren, Grant and Nicole Leigh of North Aurora, Anne Moody and Francie Moody both of Chicago and Kate Moody of Athens, Ohio; two sisters, Jean Reichert of McFarland, Wisconsin, Peg (Paul) Shriber of North Aurora; a brother Bob (Verna) Leigh of Aurora; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Bette J. Leigh in 1994; a brother, Stewart Leigh; a sister, Ellen Leigh Bauerle; and a niece, Pam Shriber Powell.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2001 at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora. Bob Leigh will officiate. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Cemetery. Robert S. Strouse
Robert S. Strouse 78, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Provena Mercy Center. He was born April 7, 1922 in Chicago, IL.
Robert served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was also a member of the Aurora Moose Lodge #400.
Robert is survived by his wife Shirley Strouse; daughter, Dawn (Richard) Laggett; sons, Dean and Darrell Strouse; stepchildren, Terri Webster, Debra (Gary) Wassinger, Kathy Marshall, Carole (Martin) Lumbert, Gerald Goldman, Gary (Patricia) Goldman, Robert Goldman, Robin (Ann) Goldman, and Gail (Candace) Goldman. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister Virginia (Clair) Bass.
He was preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Florence (Battle) Strouse.
Private family services will be held at The Healy Chapel with Pastor Ron Markese officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.

Walter T. Adams
1923 - 2001
Walter T. Adams, 77, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2001 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital. He was born August 8, 1923 in Aurora.
He was employed at Durabilt Manufacturing, Geneva Kitchens and Denelco Manufacturing retiring in 1981. Mr. Adams was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Philippines when the Japanese surrendered. He was one of the first troops in Japan.
Mr. Adams was past president of the American Luxemberger Club for 8 years; a life member of the American Luxemberger Club, 3rd Ward, 7th Ward, Tiger Club, Moose #400, Eastside Social Club and the V.F.W. He was a council of clubs delegate and an officer of St. John Branch #35 W.C.U.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl (DeKing); three brothers, Robert (Lucille) of Aurora, Frank (Ruth) of Florida and Don of Somonauk, Illinois; one sister, Earla (John) Silagi of Aurora; his sister in-law, Ann Adams of Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Josaphine; brothers, Albert (Ann) and Joseph; two sisters in-law, Marlene (Don) and Catherine (Bob).
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16, 2001 from THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY at 10 a.m. to St. Joseph Church at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Pierre Polycarpe will officiate. Interment will be private.

Genevieve W. Brown
Genevieve W. Brown, 84, of Sandwich, Illinois passed away Thursday, February 8, 2001 at Valley West Community Hospital, Sandwich, IL.
She was born January 3, 1917 in Warren, Minnesota, the daughter of George E. and Stella (Copp) Willey.
Genevieve was united in marriage to Elias Brown on June 7, 1939 in Warren, Minnesota. They resided in Joliet for 17 years, then moving to Mokena, Illinois where they lived for 35 years. Genevieve was employed as a bookkeeper for the Welsch Lumber and Supply Company in Mokena for many years. Genevieve was a member of the Naomi Circle of the Mokena Methodist Church and also a member and held several offices in the Mokena Women's Club. When Genevieve and Elias moved to Sandwich nine years ago, she became a member of the Valley West Community Hospital Auxiliary. She was an active member of the Federated Church, Sandwich.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Paul Brown of New Lenox, IL and his fiancee`, Jeanne Glazebrook of Mokena, IL; a daughter, Lurene (Robert) Knight of Sandwich; a special friend, Janice C. Brown of New Lenox, IL; four grandchildren, Terry Knight of Rolling Meadows, IL, Karen Knight of Smyrna, DE, David Brown of New Lenox, IL and Sarah Brown of San Diego, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias on August 31, 1999; four brothers, Donald, Edwin, Marvin and George; and a sister, June Willey.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2001 at 11:00 AM at The Federated Church, 403 N. Main St., Sandwich, IL with Rev. Kenneth Ritchie officiating.
Memorials may be made in Genevieve's name to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes, The Federated Church, The Mokena Women's Club, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Aubrey D. Ford
Aubrey D. Ford, 81, of Yorkville, IL passed away Tuesday February 13, 2001 at Hillside Healthcare Center in Yorkville. He was born April 6, 1919 in Ashland, AL.
Aurbrey was a Baptist Minister for 42 years, serving the Lord at New Hope Baptist and as an evangelical minister. Aurbrey devoted his life to serving the Lord in doing His work. He retired from Furnas Electric after many years of service. After retiring, Aurbrey spent 8 years volunteering at Hesed House.
Survivors include his wife Inez of Yorkville, IL; daughter, Edna (Charles) Lloyd of Yorkville; grandchildren, Peggy (Darrell) Robbins of Oswego and Barry (Kim) Lloyd of Yorkville; and four great grandchildren, Ashley and Brittney Robbins and Karl and Kenny Lloyd. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walker and Mary Ford and three brothers, Lester, Aut and Dewey Ford.
Funeral services will be held on Friday February 16, 2001 at 2 PM from Usrey-Brown Funeral Home, Talladega, AL.
Visitation will be on Thursday February 15, 2001 from 5 - 9 PM at the funeral home in Alabama. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Dorothy N. Louk
Dorothy N. Louk, 85, of Aurora, passed away Monday, February 12, 2001 at Countryside Care Center. She was born September 29, 1915 in Aurora, IL, daughter of the late Norman and Chloe Smith.
Dorothy was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora for 69 years. She was well liked and had many friends and will be missed. Dorothy and George were married June 25, 1954 in Anna, IL.
Survivors include her husband George Louk of Aurora and a cousin Mildred Jenkins of New York.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Private interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.

Edith A. Mazuc
Edith A. Mazuc, age 73, of Elburn, IL., passed away quietly at her home on Saturday, February 10, 2001.
She was born on August 27, 1927, in Belleview, PA., the daughter of Fred Bruce and Bernice (Moyer) Righter. Edith grew up in Lewistown, PA., where she attended local schools and graduated from Derby Township High School in 1945. Following graduation, she worked for the phone company for several years until October 3, 1950, when she enlisted in the United States Navy. She served her country for three years as a telegraph specialist in Hawaii.
Shortly before her discharge in 1953, Edith was united in marriage to Pascal Mazuc on the fifth of May, in Barbers Point, Hawaii. They lived in Tennessee, Florida, and Virginia over the next years eventually settling in Elburn, IL., in 1970, upon her husband's retirement from the Navy.
After her children were grown, Edith worked as a clerk for the Kane County Circuit Court Office. She also volunteered at the original Community Hospital in Geneva. Most recently, Edith served as as Adult Literacy Volunteer for Waubonsee Community College.
Edith's family and friends will remember her as a devoted wife and mother, a kind and caring person who was always there for others. She was a loving mother and homemaker who, though active in outside activities, was never too busy to "be there" for her family. Edith was a strong woman with deep convictions which she kept close to her heart.
She was a devoted member of St. Gall Church, Elburn.
Edith leaves her husband, Pascal; five children: Patricia Train of Batavia, IL., John Mazuc of California, MD; Sharon (Scott) Zeal of Somonauk, IL., Kevin (Kim) Mazuc of Elburn, IL., and Alan (Chris) Mazuc of Hughesville, MD; ten grandchildren, Chlo and Ashley Train, Patrick (Michelle) Cosgrove, Chris and Dan Mazuc, Josh, Amanda and Jason Zeal, Melanie and Jake Mazuc; one great-granddaughter, Megan Cosgrove; three sisters: Marion, Dorothy and Virginia; three brothers: Glen, Richard and Charles; and a family of friends.
She joins now her parents, Fred and Bernice; her grandparents; one brother-in-law, Harry Jacobs; and her son-in-law, Michael Train, who preceded her in death.
A Mass to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 15, 2001, at Gall Church, RT47 and Shannon St., Elburn, IL. Fr. Bernard Schaefer O.S.B. will officiate. Interment will follow at West Batavia Cemetery, Batavia, IL.
Memorials in her name may be mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, IL., 60019.

Dolores M. Molnar
1928 - 2001
Dolores M. Molnar, age 72, of Aurora, passed away Monday, February 12, 2001 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital. She was born August 13, 1928 in Aurora.
Survivors include her two daughters, Chris Michaud and Kim (Scott) Skobielew ; and her son Guy Molnar; grandchildren, Julia and Destiny Wissel and Duane and Danny Molnar; a brother Frank Lloyd Jr. ; and many cousins. She was the dear friend of John and Barbara Molnar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret.

Oralia Urbina, age 38, of Plano passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2001 at Valley West Community Hospital, in Sandwich, IL.

Paul Balis
Paul Balis of hot Spring Village, AR., born December 12, 1919, died January 26, 2001. Funeral mass was January 29, 2001 at Sacred Heart of Jesus church in Hot Springs Village, AR.
Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Betty; his daughter, Mary Jo (Joe) Blasing of Aurora, IL.; granddaughter, Jeni (Jeff) Glock of Leland, IL.; three great-grandchildren, Tami, Jake and Julie Glock; two sister-in-laws, Mary L. Antill and Peggy Farrell of Geneva, IL.; many nieces and nephews.

Richard B. Churchill
Richard B. Churchill, age 75, of Cedar Point, IL, formerly of Warrenville, died February 13, 2001 at Veterans Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa.
Richard was born July 21, 1925 in Brookfield, IL. He was a retired plastering contractor. In 1943 he graduated from Wheaton Community High School. He was a past member of the Warrenville VFW, Post 8081 and Aurora Moose Lodge 400. He served in the Navy during WWII and was a dedicated outdoors man and avid fisherman.
Richard is survived by his partner in life, Charlotte Serino of Cedar Point, IL; his children, Thomas W. (Anita) Churchill of Warrenville, Steven Churchill of Warrenville, John (Susan) Churchill of Murray, UT and Kristina Coleman of Cedar Point, IL; and grandchildren, Michael, Rhianna, and Chistine.

Marion (Lembcke) Harmon
Marion (Lembcke) Harmon, 94, of Aurora passed away on Friday, February 9, 2001 at Provena McAuley Manor. She was born on June 28, 1906 in Chicago, IL to the late Charles and Anna Lembcke.
Marion's family moved to Aurora in 1909. She was a graduate of Skidmore College. She married Dr. Millard Harmon on December 25, 1934. Dr. Harmon passed away in 1986. Marion was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Aurora Women's Club, the P.E.O. and A.A.U.W. She was an interior designer and was a partner with Harmon and Buhrmann Interiors.
Survivors include two sons, Charles (Lucretia) Harmon of Mequon, Wisconsin and David Harmon of Elburn; and a brother, Charles (Jeanne) Lembcke of St. Charles, IL. Other survivors include six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Millard Harmon in 1986; and a son Richard Harmon.
Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, February 16, 2001 at Wesley United Methodist Church. Rev. Fredric W. Lippert will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10AM until the time of the service at the Church on Friday. Private interment will take place in Spring Lake Cemetery. Carlos Rocha Jr.
Carlos Rocha Jr., 41, of El Paso, TX., formerly of Aurora passed away on Monday, February 12, 2001 at Thompson Hospital in El Paso, TX. He was born April 6, 1960 in Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Auerlia Rocha, Sr.; and a half-sister, Guadalupe Diaz.
Survivors include his wife, Isabella Rocha of El Paso, TX.; four daughters, Rosa Rocha and Marisol Rocha of El Paso, TX, Evon Rocha and Vanessa Rocha, of West Chicago; two sons, Luis Rocha and Isreal Rocha of El Paso, TX; one brother, Jesus (Maria) Rocha of Aurora; seven sisters, Celia (Pedro) Estrada of Guadalaja, Mexico, Socorro (Ricardo) Villanueva of Aurora, Josephine (Daniel) Villanueva of El Paso, Texas, Martha (Jesus) Herrera of Aurora, Consuelo (Chad) Bakel of Oswego, Carmen Ramirez of Aurora, and Angela (Salvador) Ramirez of Aurora; one granddaughter of West Chicago; also several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2001 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Dieterle Memorial home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery, IL.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the Dieterle Memorial Home to Holy Angels Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Joseph P. Nicolosi officiating.

Hazel V. West
Hazel V. West, 91, of Marinette, WI and formerly of DeKalb, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2001 at the Northland Lutheran Retirement community in Marinette, WI. She was born on September 19, 1909 in Utica, IL, the daughter of Oliver and Kristina Olson. She married Conrad West on September 22, 1928 and was married for 52 years.
Conrad and Hazel owned a farm in the Maple Park area for over 20 years. After retiring from farming, they moved to DeKalb and Hazel lived there until 1993 when health began to fail. She went to live at the Northland Lutheran Retirement Community where her son was the Executive Director. She was a charter member of Grace Free Lutheran Church in DeKalb.
She is survived by her son: Rev. Kenneth W. (Barbara) West of Crivitz, WI and Ocala, FL, her daughter: Norma (Jerry L.) Smith of Oswego and Ocala; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad in 1981; her daughter, Evelyn in 1980; one son, Norman in 1942 and a daughter infancy, two sisters: Molly Berg and Sadie Bray and five brothers: Clarence Erickson, Ed Erickson, Jess and Joe Osman and Oscar Olson.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at the Grace Free Lutheran Church, 1121 South First Street in DeKalb with the Rev. Jan Horne officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Saturday from noon until the service hour at the church. Arrangements are being completed by the Anderson Funeral Home.
