DANIEL J.A. HAYWARD
Daniel J.A. Hayward, 33, of Rochelle, Ill., passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at his home.
Born Dec. 25, 1970, in Elgin, he was the son of Richard and Karen (Unruh) Hayward. On June 8, 2001, he married Amanda Carol Weber in Oregon, Ill. He owned Nate Rock Dry Wall & Remodeling in Rochelle. He was a 1989 graduate of Rochelle Township High School and was the lead singer and guitar player in the Psyco-ex's Band.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda, of Rochelle; his parents, Richard and Karen Hayward of Shabbona; two sons, Daniel Nathan Hayward and Devan Joseph Andrew Hayward, and two daughters, Krynn Danielle Hayward and Lyndsey Diana Sage, all of Rochelle; two brothers, Michael (Marla) Hayward of Dixon and David (Deanna) Hayward of Holcomb; two sisters, Majorie (Michael) Derr and Angela (David) Carpenter, both of Creston; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St. in Rochelle. Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the family.

MARY E. VORIS
Mary E. Voris, 83, of DeKalb, Ill., passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center in DeKalb.
Born Feb. 21, 1921, in Georgetown, Ill., she was the daughter of Robert and Dorthy (Smith) Nier. She was united in marriage to Virgil Voris on Dec. 17, 1938, in Waukegan.
Mary loved her children and their spouses, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was a masterful seamstress and loved to cook and to watch old movies, especially those with John Wayne.
She is survived by her children, Sandra (John) Gunther of DeKalb and Steven (Marilynne) Voris of Shabbona; eight grandchildren, Jeff Gunther, Ken (Robin) Gunther, Nicole (Victor) Bledsoe and Jennifer, Katie, Marissa, Andrea and Steven Voris; two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Connor Gunther; a sister, Pat (Bill) Spicer of Ottawa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virg; her parents; two brothers and a sister.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with the Rev. Robert L. Vaughn of the Earlville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for Mary E. Voris for DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center, for nursing equipment in Building A, in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, IL 60115.

JOAN M. GENTRY
Joan M. Gentry, 66, of Lee, Ill., died Monday, June 14, 2004, at her home after a long illness.
Born Aug. 16, 1937, in LaSalle, she was the daughter of Joseph and Balbina "Beenie" (Mueller) Frackowiak. Joan married John Gentry on May 31, 1958, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in LaSalle.
She is survived by her husband, John, of Lee; two daughters, Lisa Hodge of Paris, Ill., and Barb Honeycutt of DeKalb; a brother, Joe (L'laine) Frackowiak of LaSalle; two sisters, Anne Rhodda of LaSalle and Carol (Bob) Kirchhofer of Fort Wayne, Ind.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Keast of Leland; and a beloved grandson, Nathan Hodge.
The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at Jacobson Funeral Home in Shabbona. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A memorial is being established.

SALVATORE M. 'SAM' MOBILE
Salvatore M. "Sam" Mobile, 51, of Sycamore, Ill., died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Nov. 1, 1952, in Chicago, he was the son of Michael and Mary (Di Filippo) Mobile. He married Phyllis Amicarelli on June 12, 1976, in Chicago.
He was a graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School and received his Bachelor of Science in education from Eastern Illinois University in 1974. He went on to receive his master's degree in education from Northern Illinois University in 2001.
He worked for Roadway Express and Sycamore Containers for several years and then worked for the Sycamore School District 427 as a teacher at Sycamore Junior High School for three years. He then become the assistant principal at the Sycamore Junior High School from 2000-03. He also was a former Sycamore Junior High School football coach.
Sam was a member of the National Association of Elementary School Principals and of the Sycamore Golf Course. He was an avid golfer. He spent much of his free time playing the sport. He played on numerous golf leagues. He loved his family very much and enjoyed vacationing with them.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; a daughter, Nicole Mobile; a son, Michael Mobile; a nephew; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins; and a host of dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 4, at Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, with Fr. Paul White officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at the funeral home.

RUSSELL D. KLOTZ
Russell D. Klotz, 78, of Sandwich, Ill., passed away Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich.
Born Nov. 9, 1925, in Sandwich, he was the son of Alvin and Lila (Morgan) Klotz. He married Janet M. Cone on Aug. 10, 1949, in Sycamore.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He owned and operated Klotz Garage in Sandwich for more than 30 years, then taught at Indian Valley Vocational Center in Sandwich for 10 years. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich, where he served on the council. He also was a member of Sandwich American Legion, Sandwich VFW and the Sandwich Moose. Russell enjoyed the time he spent with his family in Cornucopia, Wis., the outdoors, fishing, hunting, trapping and trap shooting.
He is survived by his wife, Janet, of Sandwich; a son, Lee (Susanne) Klotz of Rice Lake, Wis.; two grandsons, Seth and Jared Klotz of Rice Lake; a brother, Dwight A. Klotz of St. Anne; a sister, Darlene (Douglas) Hubbard of Boise, Idaho; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 3, at Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich, with the Rev. Carol S. Gates officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Burkhart Funeral Home, 606 E. Arnold Road in Sandwich.
Memorials can be directed to Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich.

MINA B. QUINN
Mina B. Quinn, 80, of Clare, Ill., died peacefully Sunday, May 30, 2004, with her four children at her side at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb.
Born Nov. 8, 1923, in DeKalb, she was the daughter of Clarence and Nell (Kerwin) Campbell. She was married to James M. Quinn. Mina lived in Clare her entire married life.
She was a 1941 graduate of Maple Park High School.
She was a homemaker and worked in the records department of Northern Illinois University for 15 years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of DeKalb, the Sycamore Ladies Elks, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Retired Letter Carriers Association and the Ladies Veterans, and was a 54-year member of the Church of St. Mary in Sycamore.
She is survived by four children, James P. (Michelle) Quinn of Clare, Beth (Bruce) Jacky of Lexington, S.C., Joan (Chris) Hall of Sycamore and Jean (James) Godfrey of Katy, Texas; six grandchildren; a sister, Mary (John) Turk of Hampshire; three nieces; and six nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; a daughter, Mary Beth, in infancy; a brother, Burdette Campbell; a nephew, John Turk; and a niece, Kathy Weise.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 3, at the Church of St. Mary in Sycamore, with Fr. Frank J. Timar, M.S.C., officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Sycamore. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, with a wake service being recited at 7:30 p.m.
A memorial is being established in care of Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178.

LILLIAN E. KENYON
Lillian E. Kenyon, 89, of Sycamore, Ill., died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at her home.
Born Jan. 11, 1915, in Aurora, she was the daughter of A. Edwin and Martina (Thompson) Chase. She married Merwin J.R. Brauer in 1934 and later married Martin L. Kenyon in 1966.
She was a graduate of East Aurora High School and attended the Metropolitan Business College in Aurora. She was employed by Ideal Industries in Sycamore for 20 years.
Lillian was a member of First Baptist Church in Sycamore.
She is survived by a son, Keith (Nancy C.) Brauer of Star, N.C.; two daughters, Barbara (Joseph) Tilton of Post Falls, Idaho, and Nancy L. Brauer of Sycamore; two stepdaughters, Joan (John) Tungseth of Orlando, Fla., and Myrtice (Donald) Brock of Monterey, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands and a sister.
The funeral service will be held at 1 a.m. Thursday, June 3, at Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, with the Rev. Stephen Persson officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at the funeral home.
A memorial for DeKalb County Hospice has been established in care of Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178.

GLENNA MAE CHAPMAN
Glenna Mae Chapman, 70, of Kirkland, Ill., died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Born Dec. 23, 1933, in Kirkland, she was the daughter of Clair and Bessie (Baars) Moon. She married William J. Chapman on July 21, 1952, in Rockford.
She was a 1951 graduate of Hiawatha High School and the only student to have achieved 12 years of perfect attendance. She collected Beanie Babies and enjoyed crocheting. She worked at GTE Automatic Electric in Genoa for 40 years.
She is survived by her husband, William Chapman of Kirkland; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Moon and Betty Miller, both of Kirkland; a brother-in-law, Lyle Hemmingson of California; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert J. Chapman; two brothers, Max and John Moon; two sisters, infant Ramona Moon and Willa Hemmingson; and a nephew, Brad Moon.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 3, at Quiram-Kirkland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Interment will be at Maple Cemetery in Kirkland. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at the funeral home.

NORMA MAY BRAY
Norma May Bray, 78, of Sycamore, Ill., passed away Monday, May 24, 2004, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.
Born Dec. 13, 1925, in Oconee, Ill., she was the daughter of Chester and Bertha (German) Carroll. She was united in marriage to Ned Bray on Dec. 24, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo.; they spent more than 50 happy years together until his passing.
Norma was a very active member of Rollo Congregational United Church of Christ and was involved in its Women's Fellowship as well as several other church committees. She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at C.T.S. Knights in Sandwich. Mrs. Bray also was a member of Prime Timers Social Club. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by a daughter, Jenifer Bray of Plainfield; two sons, Ken (Vicki) Bray of Shabbona and Bill Bray of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Tania) Ricken of Oswego, Dr. Juliet Bulnes, D.D.M. (Dr. Chris Bulnes, D.D.M.) of Tampa, Fla., Tiffany (Craig) Cassata of Elgin, Kris Bray of DeKalb, and Nicole Bray and Kristen Bray, both of Dallas, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Christian Bulnes, Paul Ricken, Elizabeth Ricken and Bennett Cassata; a brother, Walt (Edna) Carroll of DeKalb; two sisters, Mary Curran of Sycamore and Grace Vogel of Waukeshaw, Wis.; her friend and companion, Don Mosher of DeKalb; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ned Bray; a son, James Bray, in infancy; four brothers, Chester Carroll, Charles Carroll, George Carroll and Ronald Carroll; and two sisters, Delores Mason and Betty Imbodon.
The memorial service for Norma will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 28, at Rollo Congregational United Church of Christ, 2471 Weddell St., Rollo, IL 60518. Visitation for family, friends and neighbors is from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials can be directed to Rollo Congregational United Church of Christ.

L. LaGRETA PULLIAM
L. LaGreta Pulliam, 94, of Normal, Ill., died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at McLean County Nursing Home in Normal.
Born April 28, 1910, in Fishersburg, Ind., she was the daughter of Andrew and Nancy Abney Montgomery. She first married Leonard Anderson in 1929; he died in October 1979. She then married Clovis Bodi Pulliam; he died in October 1989.
LaGreta was a member of Malta United Methodist Church, was active in 4-H Home Extension and was a professional seamstress.
She is survived by a daughter, Clara Mae (Wally) Edgoose of Monee; two sons, Charles Anderson of Monee and George (Becky) Anderson of Bloomington; a brother, Ronald Smith of DeKalb; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family services are being held. Burial will take place at a later date in Blue Eye, Mo.
Memorials can be made to the donor's choice of charity.

ARTHUR R. KLOSA
Arthur R. Klosa Jr., 72, of Fairdale, Ill., died Friday, May 28, 2004, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

RICHARD T. BYERS
Richard T. Byers, 76, formerly of South Grove, Kirkland and Waterman, Ill., died Friday, May 21, 2004, in Oakland, Md.
He was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Chicago. He and his wife moved in 2001 from Arizona to Maryland to reside with their son and daughter-in-law.
He is survived by his wife, Delores C. Byers, and a son, Zane (Cynthia) Byers, both of Oakland, Md.; and two sisters, Glee McIntire of Rogersville, Tenn., and Merikay Fletchall of Hemet, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore D. and Madge Byers, formerly of Sycamore; and a son, Brian.
Cremation has taken place, and interment will be at South Grove Cemetery at a date to be announced by the family.
