Allie "Raymond" Hoffman
Late of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2001, Joliet, IL. Age 84 years. born in Lacleed, IL on June 19, 1916 to the late Allie and Ottie Hoffman.
Former member of Joliet Eagles Club and First Church of the Nazarene. Retired from the Joliet Arsenal; Max Brothers Ford Agency and Wilmington Police Department.
Survived by two sons, Glen (Myra) of Dayton, OH and Ray (Diana) of Elwood, IL; his loving daughter, Mary Wilson of Wilmington, IL; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Preceded by his parents; wife, Pansy (1984) and one son, Bobby.
Visitation at the Reeves Funeral Home, Wilmington, Saturday, January 13, from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services Sunday, January 14, at 10 a.m. Rev. Richard Johnson officiating.
Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society and Kuzma Cottage appreciated.

Louis G. Porro
63 year old son of Michael Anthony and Marie Louise Porro, both deceased, passed away his residence in Channahon, Friday, January 5, 2001.
Lou spent his childhood in Ridgewood and resided in Channahon for the past 26 years. Earlier last year, Lou was honored by the Village of Channahon for his 25 years of service on the Planning and Zoning Commission. He was appointed to the commission in November 1974, and had only missed sixteen meetings in all those years. During this time he planned or reviewed most every subdivision and industrial parks in the village.
He enjoyed many sports, pool and fishing were his favorites. A hobby he liked was woodworking. Louis recently retired from Caterpillar, after 35 years of service as a tool designer. He belonged to the Elks, Moose and was a 32nd Degree Mason of Matteson Lodge No. 175 A.F.&A.M.
Survived by his wife, Arlene; his son, Christopher; brothers: Michael (Cheryl) and John (JoAnne); stepdaughteres: Jennifer, Elizabeth and Amelia. Also, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors will miss him more than words can express.
Louis was a compassionate, honest, loving, gentle man, and above all, a gentleman. We are all grateful to have known and loved him. We will miss him greatly. At Louis' request, cremation services were held. Masonic memorial services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday, January 13 at 1 p.m. All are welcome. Final interment of ashes will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.

Dorothy Tomasich (nee Posega)
At rest Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.
Survived by one sister Rose (Leigh Dec.) Tarbell. One brother Albert (Katherine) Posego. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded by her husband Joseph Tomasich. Two sisters, Julie (Michael) Hrapcinski and Christine Jovita. Three brothers, Edward W. (Joanna), Louis, and Sam Posega.
Dorothy was born in Joliet and a life long resident.

Cheryl M. Burleson "Yacko"
Age 39, passed away January 12, 2001 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet after a courageous battle with cancer. A life long resident of Romeoville.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Timothy Burleson. Loving daughter of Louis and Irene Yacko. Loving mother of Heather (Felix) Soto, Rhiannon Burleson and Tiffany Burleson. Sister of Laura (Ken) Hutchinson, Lynn Yacko and Roxanne (Larry) Brown. Grandmother of Felicia. Daughter-in-law of James and Nancy Bueleson. Aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at the Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Dr., in Romeoville Monday 2-9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday. She will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Romeoville, 730 N. Independence Blvd. Services conclude at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory preferred.

Carolyn E. Larsen Fiser (nee McDonald)
Age 92, of Joliet, IL, at rest Thursday, January 11, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. born November 8, 1908 in Bushnell, IL, Carolyn owned and operated numerous restaurants in the Joliet area throughout her lifetime. She was also cofounder of Etc. Resale Shop in Crest Hill.
She is survived by her husband, Allan C. Fiser; her loving children, Diane Newberry, Lois Larsen and Norman (Audrey) Larsen; her grandchildren, Craig (Jackie) Newberry, Cara Newberry, David (Diane) Larsen, John (Mary Beth) Larsen, and Vicky Dukes; her great grandchildren, Ryan and Brandon Newberry, Brent Dukes, Stasia and Jack Larsen; special friends, Jack and Louise Newberry and family, Sylvia and Lonnie Randolph and family.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Larsen; her brother, Ralph McDonald; her sister, Verna Tatersall; and her son-in-law, Clyde Newberry.
Funeral services will be held at the Grant-Tapella-Freitag Westwood Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 15, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Dale Hammond officiating. Interment Maple Hill Cemetery, Elwood. Visitation Sunday from 2-7 p.m. Memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.

Mary Godzicki
Age 90 of Crest Hill, IL. died January 5, 2001 at the Villa Franciscan Nursing Home in Joliet.
A funeral service was held at the Melaerney Chapel, 4635 S. Wallace in Chicago. Burial was at St. Mary Cemetery in Chicago.
Mrs. Godzicki was born and lived all her life until her retirement in Chicago. She worked for Western Electric where she retired.
She is sadly missed by her good friends.

Beloved wife of Joseph; loving mother of Ann Joyce Young, William (Linda) and Frances (Dennis) Kleinhoffer. Fond grandmother of nine; great grandmother of eight; and great great grandmother of two. Preceded in death by one grandchild. Dear sister of Ruth Johnson and Glory Brennan, preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Otto G. Kreitzer
Age 84, passed away January 12, 2001 at his residence in Romeoville, formerly of Chicago.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Zahorcik and and Joan Kreitzer. Grandfather of Donald (Marie) Zahorcik, David Zahorcik, Christine Zahorcik and Laura (Russell) Smith; great grandfather of James and Elizabeth Zahorcik. Also survived by a sister Alma Bean.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anne Kreitzer; his parents, Robert and Olga Kreitzer; his brothers Edwin and Albert Kreitzer; also a sister, Helen Koester.
Family will receive friends at the Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Dr. in Romeoville Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. procession to follow to St. Andrew Catholic Church for an 11:00 a.m. mass of Christian burial. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice.
