Mary Jean Reinhold, nee Cooley, 84, of Columbia, died June 3, 2013, in Waterloo. She was born Dec. 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Guthrie and Gladys (nee Lowery) Cooley. Mrs. Reinhold is survived by her son, Rick (Lynn) Miller; step-children, Mark (Mary Kay) Reinhold, Ken (Shirley) Reinhold and Jill (Craig) Whelan; grandchildren, Jessica Sherry, Laura Frierdich, Katie (Erick) Hernandez, Bethany Reinhold, Adam Reinhold, Alex Reinhold, Michelle (Chris) Freeman, Dane Reinhold, Joshua Whelan and Briahna Whelan; six great-grandchildren; and special nieces and friends ,Glenda Cline, Debbie Martin, Arlene Notter and Marlene Marquardt; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Reinhold was preceded in death by her husbands James R. Miller and Glennon F. Reinhold; brothers, Tom and John Cooley; and sisters George Frances Rietta and Lela Rae Cox. Mrs. Reinhold attended Immaculate Conception Church in Columbia. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Father Carl E. Scherrer officiating. Memorials may be made to Heart Transplant Association of St. Louis, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School or the Red Bud FFA.

Clara “Corky” Mehrmann, nee Rapp, 76, of Millstadt, died June 9, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. She was born Oct. 8, 1936, in Belleville, the daughter of the late Alfred and Mathilda (nee Vogel) Rapp. Mrs. Mehrmann is survived by her daughter, Karen (Larry) Gardner; grandchildren, Brian and Josh Gardner; a brother, Walter (Diane) Rapp; nephews, Brad (Eileen) Schaller and Kevin Schaller; and nieces, Sandy Buell, Shirley (Mark) Spalding, Sheryl (Bill) Lake and Stephanie (Don) Cook. She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Schaller; and a granddaughter, Katie Lynn Gardner. Mrs. Mehrmann attended Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt where she was involved in the Women’s Fellowship. She had worked at Paddock Industries in Millstadt, Shop ‘N Save in Belleville and the Market Place in Columbia. Visitation and funeral were at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt with Rev. Darrell Weber officiating. Mrs. Mehrmann was buried at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Belleville. Strauss-Leesman Funeral Home of Millstadt handled the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt or Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Bernard “Bud” Joseph Low, 102, of Columbia, died June 9, 2013, at Sunset Hills Health and Rehab in Sunset Hills, Mo. He was born Dec. 28, 1910, in Portland, Ore., the son of the late Welcome and Theresa (nee Kruyer) Low. Bud married Hilda (nee Humphrey) Low in 1944, in St. Louis. She died in 1986. Mr. Low is survived by his nieces and nephews, Anna Jobson of Columbia, W. James (Olga) Jobson of Columbia and Charles T. (Mareda) Jobson of Fairfax City, Va. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Jobson; brother-in-law, Hurchel (Veda) Humphrey; and a nephew, Robert W. Jobson. Mr. Low served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Columbia American Legion Post 581. He was a retired self-employed printer. Bud enjoyed bowling and was a fixture on the lanes well past the age of 100. There were no public services. Mr. Low was buried at Laurel Hill Cemetery in St. Louis. Lawlor Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Gideons International or First Baptist Church of Columbia’s Building Fund.

Bob Miller, 72, of Waterloo, died June 10, 2013, in Waterloo. He was born Feb. 15, 1941, in East St. Louis, the son of the late John and Helen (nee Cook) Miller. Mr. Miller is survived by his children, Kim (George) Powell, Mark (Bethany) Miller, Patty (Brian) Lenhardt and Robin Miller; grandchildren, Kelly Miller (Eric Osterhage) and Megan Miller, Jessica Lenhardt (fiance Alan Baum) and Brett Lenhardt and Ashtyn Miller; and siblings Mary Ann Frederick, Mike Franklin and Jane Beauchamp; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, John F. Miller II; and foster parent, Willard “Pop” Hayden. Mr. Miller was a member of the Teamsters from 1959 to 2002. He was the retired officer for Teamster Local 618 in St. Louis (20 years), an officer of Joint Council 13 and the Missouri Kansas Conference of Teamster. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Friz officiating. Mr. Miller was buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery.

Thomas L. Traiteur II, 45, of Waterloo, died June 9, 2013, in St. Louis. He was born May 12, 1968, in East St. Louis, the son of Thomas and Deana Traiteur. In addition to his parents, Mr. Traiteur is survived by a wife, Elizabeth (nee Betsch) Traiteur; children, Amanda Marie (Clinton) Hicks, Seth Thomas, Jeremiah August, Matthew Nicholas and Samuel Xavier; grandchildren Isabella Rose Hicks and Lillian Marie Hicks; a sister, Michelle (Sean) Edwards; and brother, Jeff (Julie) Traiteur; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Mr. Traiteur was a member of the International Brotherhood of Allied Trades. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Friz officiating. Mr. Traiteur was buried at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Waterloo.

Douglas Lee Barnes, 60, of Waterloo, died June 7, 2013, in St. Louis. He was born Jan. 13, 1953, in Sacramento, Calif., the son of the late Floyd and Clara Barnes. Mr. Barnes is survived by his brothers, Floyd Barnes, Butch Barnes and Kenny Barnes. Mr. Barnes was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He lived in Waterloo the past three years with Stan and Sandra Dickey.

Lena S. Beil, nee Martin, 56, of Waterloo, died June 10, 2013, in Belleville. He was born Oct. 17, 1956, the daughter of the late John Edward and Winnie Lorraine (nee Burnett) Martin. Mrs. Beil is survived by her husband, Michael Beil; son, Andrew John Nelson; and sisters ,Helen (Tony) Gonzalez and Johnnie (Steve) Fuller; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Friz officiating. Memorials may be made to the Monroe County Humane Society.

Carol L. Fisher, nee McDonald, 79, of Dupo, died June 10, 2013, at her home. She was born March 11, 1934 on Kaskaskia Island, the daughter of the late Andrew and Florence (nee Cassoutt) McDonald. Mrs. Fisher is survived by her sons, Kirk (Denise) Fisher, Marvin (Angie) Fisher and Timothy (Tina) Fisher; sisters, Floetta Satterfield, Laurella Schwent and Cindy Gimber; brothers, Don and Leland McDonald; special friend, John Belmar; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas T.K. “Jack” Fisher; a son, Melvin Fisher; her brothers, Andrew Wayne McDonald and Glen McDonald; and her sister, Linda McDonald. Mrs. Fisher was a licensed practical nurse at the Monroe County Nursing Home and was also employed for 17 years at Canterbury Manor Nursing Home. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo where she was active in the Women’s Club, Funeral Dinner Committee and the Readings and Reflections Group. Carol was a member of the Quilter’s Club and the Prairie Du Rocher Saddle Club. She was also a volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and served Easter dinners at Cosgrove’s Kitchen in East St. Louis. Visitation was at Dashner-Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo. Funeral was at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo with Fr. Paul Wienhoff officiating. Mrs. Fisher was buried at the Holy Family-St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Dupo. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Family Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Evelyn Esker, nee Jost, 92, of Waterloo, died June 12, 2013, in Red Bud. She was born June 10, 1921, in Fults, the daughter of the late Lewis and Alma (nee Meister) Jost. Mrs. Esker is survived by her children, Erdman (Carol) Esker, Eugene (Galesa) Esker, Elvis (Cathy) Esker and Edwin (Linda) Esker; and a sister, Joan Dickerson; along with grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Esker; sons, Edward and Ervin Esker; and a daughter, Edna Page. Mrs. Esker is the former owner of the Fults Tavern. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Poole officiating. Mrs. Esker was buried at the St. John Evangelical Cemetery in Fults. Memorials may be made the to the St. John UCC of Maeystown New Awning Fund.

Pauline E. Dressler, 92 of St. Libory, died June 15, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 15, 1921, in St. Libory, the daughter of the late August and Cecelia (nee Wesselmann) Kalkhoff. Pauline married Allen B. Dressler in 1943 in St. Libory. He died in 2001. Mrs. Dressler is survived by her children, Allen A. (Glenda) Dressler of St. Libory, Alvin (Rosie) Dressler of Freeburg, Dennis (Donna) Dressler of St. Libory, Paul Dressler (Anna Beever) of St. Libory, Charles (Lisa) Dressler of St. Libory, and Gerard “Jerry” (Cindy) Dressler of St. Libory; daughters Elizabeth “Beth” (Arthur) Arenas of Waterloo and Marian (Butch) Williams of Freeburg; daughter-in-law Debbie Buss of St. Libory; grandchildren Cheryl Cahnovsky, Douglas Dressler, Carrie Cox, Tracy Dressler, Julie Murphy, Todd Dressler, Dale Dressler Dawn Reuter, Derek Dressler, Deanne Ross, Jason Dressler, Tina Crockett, Nicholas Dressler, Haley Dressler, Jaime Finck, Scott Dressler, Katie Feder, Amanda Diefenbach, Eric Dressler, Andrea Rable, Alexandra Donley, Abbey Arenas, Evan Arenas, Amy Dressler, Emily Williams and Natalie Williams; 27 great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara (Victor) Albers of St. Libory; and a brother-in-law, Irvin Terveer of St. Libory; along with nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James C. Dressler; grandchildren Kelsey Jo Dressler and Howard Allen Williams; and sisters Loretta Kalkhoff (in infancy), Genevieve Chott and Cecile Terveer. Mrs. Dressler was a homemaker and a lifelong member of St. Liborius Catholic Church. She was a charter (56-year) member of the Daughter of Isabelle Ava Maria 980 Prayer Circle, the St. Liborius C.C.W., Women of the Mascoutah Moose Chapter 392 and the St. Libory American Legion Auxiliary Visitation and funeral were at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory with Rev. Dennis Voss officiating. Mrs. Dressler was buried at the church’s cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Liborius Cemetery Fund or Hospice of Southern Illinois
