Donald J. Crahan, 68, of Columbia, died February 15, 2010. He was born August 19, 1941, in Fargo, ND, the son of his late parents, Donald and Betty (Ingstad) Crahan. He was married to Patricia (Olstad) Crahan, who survives him. Mr. Crahan is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Crahan of St. Louis; step-son, Brock Remillong of Centralia; sister, Barb (Mike) Jones of Rosemount MN; along with other relatives and friends. He was employed as a regional manager for the Department of Veterans Affairs, and served in the U.S. Army. Private family services were held.

Aaron Richard Bangle, 33, of Waterloo, died Feb 15, 2010, while surrounded by his family. He was born July 20, 1976, in Belleville, the son of Rick and Susan Bangle of Waterloo. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bangle is survived by his wife, Sheila (nee Eichner) Bangle, whom he married in 2005; a daughter, Paige Bangle of Valmeyer; son, Quentin Bangle of Valmeyer; step-son, Nick Wetzler of Normal; step-daughters Autumn and Gabby Wetzler of Waterloo; mother-in-law, Cathy Kaestner of Dupo; grandparents Clarence and Mabel Stockel of Waterloo and Richard Bangle of Belleville; sister, Michelle (Chris) Mace of Columbia; niece, Mila Mace of Columbia; and brother-in-law, Eric Eichner of Waterloo; along with aunts, uncles other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Thelma Bangle; sister-in-law Brenda Eichner; and infant daughter, Alexandria E. Bangle. Aaron was a draftsman designer prior to his illness. He loved football and baseball, playing chess, writing poetry, drawing, and was known for his cooking skills. As Mr. Bangle wished, his body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo on Saturday, Feb 20, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Matt Clark officiating. Friends and family may begin to gather at 10:30 a.m. to visit with the family. Following the service, there will be a luncheon at Bobeck’s in Waterloo. Memorials may be made to the family for the children’s education.

John George Stockel, 72, of Waterloo, died Feb. 15, 2010 in Red Bud. He was born Oct. 4, 1937, the son of the late John Henry and Theresa (Winkel) Stockel. Mr. Stockel is survived by his brother, Clarence (Mabel) Stockel of Waterloo. Mr. Stockel was a farmer. According to his wishes, the body was cremated. Services were held at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Waterloo. DeFabio Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Cheryl Ann Marie Medlock, nee Muskopf, 55, of Belleville, died Feb. 16, 2010, surrounded by family and friends following a short battle against cancer. She was born July 26, 1954 in Belleville, the daughter of the late Edward and Virginia (nee Helfrich) Muskopf. Mrs. Medlock is survived by her husband, Eugene “Bill” Medlock, whom she married Jan. 8, 2000; sister, Susie (Scott) Fritz of Smithton; brothers Larry Muskopf of Smithton and Roger (Joyce) Muskopf of Freeburg; nephews Scott (Stacey) Muskopf, C.J. (Jennifer) Klein, Nathan Fritz, Jordan Fritz and Paden Muskopf; niece, Amber Klein; and great-nieces Anna and Lindsey Muskopf, and Lauren Klein; along with other relatives and friends. She was a longtime bartender at Karban’s Knotty Pines in Paderborn. She was devoted to her cats, flowers, teaching aerobics, Cardinal baseball and Elvis. Visitation and funeral were at Strauss-Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt with Father Carl Scherrer officiating. Memorial may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Larry L. Larrance Sr., 63, of Waterloo, died Feb. 17, 2010 in St. Louis. He was born March 23, 1946 in Paris, IL., the son of the late Virgil and Anna (nee Evitt) Larrance. Mr. Larrance is survived by his wife, Linda (nee Hank) Larrance; children Rhonda Larrance, Larry L. (Richele) Larrance Jr.; grandchildren Arik Drake Larrance and Jacquelyn Larrance; step- grandson, Christopher Darnell; brother, James Larrance; and sisters Roszilla Beasley and Wilma York; along with nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers. Mr. Larrance is the retired owner of the Derby Liquor Store in Canon City, Colo. Visitation is Saturday, Feb. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow with Pastor Mary Beth Hartenstein officiating. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.

Gary Wayne Holt, 63, Waterloo, died Feb. 19, 2010 in Waterloo. He was born April 26, 1946 in Tenn., the son if the late Jimmy and Susie (nee Dale) Brown. Mr. Hold is survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Reiff) Holt; children James Holt, Dawn (Jason) Jones, Kent Holt, Kristin Manley and Shellie (Kent) Neal; siblings Mary Juanita Thomason, Nellie Sue Fagan, Doris Ann Grimes, Martha Jean Love, J.C. Holt Sr., Harold Holt, Betty Cockrell and Jimmy Holt; mother-in-law, Helen Reiff; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; along with sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by sister, Ruby Lee Andrews. Mr. Holt was veteran of the U.S. Army and a life-member of the Millstadt VFW. He was avid Cardinal fan. Visitation is Sunday, Feb. 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral is Monday, Feb. 22 at 9:45 a. m. at the funeral home with Pastor J. C. Holt Jr. officiating. Burial is at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.

Justin Thomas McDaniel, 27, of East Carondelet, died Feb. 19, 2010 at Kenneth Hall Regional Hospital, East St. Louis, from injuries sustained in a house fire. He was born July 15, 1982, in Belleville. Mr. McDaniel is survived by his father, James McDaniel of Columbia; mother, Julie (Beatty) Kellermann of St. Louis, Mo.; a son, Nolan Taylor McDaniel; fiancé Stephanie Louise Russell of East Carondelet; brothers James McDaniel of Dupo and Trey Breeding of St. Louis, Mo.; grandparents Tom (Norma) Beatty of Waterloo and Joe Taylor of Dupo; and aunts and uncles, Cris (Gene) Stumpf of Columbia, Evy (John) Beard of Falcon, Mo., Cory McDaniel of Falcon, Mo., and Steve Beatty of East St. Louis. He was preceded in death by grandparents James and AnnaMae McDaniel, and Phyllis Taylor; along with a best friend and cousin, Brandon Stumpf. Mr. McDaniel served in the U.S. Army during the Iraq War. He loved spending time with his family, friends and the Thursday Night Washer League and rooting on the St. Louis Cardinals. Visitation is Monday, Feb. 22, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Lawlor Funeral Home. Private family committal services will be held with Pastor Jeffrey Barrett officiating. Mr. McDaniel will be buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo. Memorials may be made to the family.

Bonnie (Keeven) Herrmann, 67, of Columbia, died Feb. 20, 2010. She was born Dec. 3, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of the late Irwin Keeven and Katherine (Chabrian) Keeven, of St. Louis, Mo. She married Donald Herrmann in 1964 in St. Louis, Mo. He died in 2000. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Herrmann is survived by a son, David (Cynthia) Herrmann of Oswego; daughter, Diane (Michael) Myers of Imperial, Mo.; grandchildren Ashlyn Kay and Lucas Michael Myers; a brother, James (Diana) Keeven; and niece, Lisa Keeven of Collierville, Tenn. Mrs. Herrmann was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, the Red Hat Ladies and a Bunco club. She enjoyed spending time with her high high-school classmates and her grandchildren. Visitation is Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral is Thursday Feb. 25, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia with Fr. Carl Scherrer officiating. Mrs. Herrmann will be buried at the church’s cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund, the Gibault Scholarship Fund or Masses.

Kathy Ann Baxmeyer, nee Kohler, 40, of Waterloo, died Feb. 20, 2010 in rural Waterloo. She was born March 26, 1969 in Elk Grove. Mrs. Baxmeyer is survived by her husband, John Baxmeyer; son, Keegan Baxmeyer; father, Richard (Dorothy) Kohler; in-laws K. Richard "Boxy" and Carol Baxmeyer; sister, (Karen) Jeff Kaiser; sister-in-law, Kim (Roger) Strong; brothers-in-law Jim Baxmeyer, David (Valerie) Baxmeyer, Jim (Pam) Pagliai and Dennis (Heather) Baxmeyer; step-brother, Ken (Tina) Valentine; and step-sister, Ann (Marc) Joergens; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis Ann (nee Kunz) Kohler; and son, Kadin John Baxmeyer. Mrs. Baxmeyer was a member of Hope Christian Church’s Praise Team, owned Saddle Creek Stables and was an avid equestrian. Visitation is Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Hope Christian Church, and on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Darrell Jones officiating. Mrs. Baxmeyer will be buried at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Waterloo. Memorials may be made to Hope Christian Church Children's Ministry or its food pantry.

Kadin John Baxmeyer, 7, of Waterloo, died Feb. 20, 2010 in Waterloo. He was born Feb. 19, 2003 in Creve Coeur, Mo. Mr. Baxmeyer is survived by his father, John Baxmeyer; a brother, Keegan Baxmeyer; grandparents Richard and Dorothy Kohler and K. Richard “Boxy” and Carol Baxmeyer; and aunts and uncles Karen (Jeff) Kaiser, Kim (Roger) Strong, Jim Baxmeyer, David (Valerie) Baxmeyer, Jim (Pam) Pagliai, Ken (Tina) Valentine and Anne (Marc) Joergens; along with cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Ann (Kohler) Baxmeyer; and grandmother, Phyllis (Kunz) Kohler. Kadin attended Hope Christian Church, was a student at Smithton Elementary School and played for the Red Muskets football and Waterloo Sports Association baseball. Visitation is Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Hope Christian Church, and on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Darrell Jones officiating. Mrs. Baxmeyer will be buried at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Waterloo. Memorials may be made to Red Muskets Football or Hope Christian Church’s Children's Ministry.
